Kana was surprisingly swiftly able to lock her decision deep inside herself. If she showed any hint that she was leaving people would ask what was going on or if something was wrong or yadda yadda and she'd crack. She'd just need to focus on her training so she'd be better prepared when it came time to leave, and on bonding with her friends. She debated keeping her distance so they wouldn't feel so betrayed when she left, but with people like Orihime and Ichigo that would only last so long before they came to you. Orihime would probably cry and Kana would crumble just like that. Ichigo would be angry at first and give some big understanding speech and, again, Kana would crumble. She didn't do well with big bouts of emotional shit like that. The last time she had been face to face with that much emotion was when her mother was crying about sending her away to that shitty uppity boarding school in the UK.
She grinned at her timing as the bell for lunch rang throughout the grounds the second she stepped through the gates. She had only ended up getting lost six times, though she could have avoided it by locking onto the beacon of reiatsu that was Ichigo but she hadn't really wanted to go back to class when it was in session. She dropped her bag off at her desk and grabbed some curry bread and a can of coffee from the cafeteria before heading up to the roof.
"Hey! You were gone a while, everything go alright?" Ichigo called when she approached the early arrivals of their group, and she sent him a grin as she dropped to her ass beside Orihime, legs sprawling compared to her delicate kneel.
"Yeah, the Hollow was whatever and the part was empty so I practiced some new shit before coming back. It was just English class anyway, and really," Kana winked and switched to English as she continued, cracking her coffee open.
"What's the point of someone like me sitting through a class like that?"
"Wow, Kana-chan! That was incredible!" Orihime's eyes were sparkling at her again and Kana chuckled, reaching over to ruffle her hair.
"Why are you so surprised? You and Tatsuki both know I spent four years straight in England." Orihime blinked before giggling, knocking her knuckles across her temple.
"Teehee, I forgot!"
"Hime, you're such a cute little dummy." Tatsuki swung her fingers across Kana's arm and the taller girl scowled at her.
"What!? I said she was cute!"
"Yeah but you called her a dummy!"
"She is a dummy! She's a dummy, you're a brute, and I'm mentally unstable!"
"Oi!" Tatsuki 'thwacked' her across the arm again and Kana shuffled further away from her, her side pressing against Orihime's.
"Tatsuki-chan! It's okay!"
"Yeah, see!"
Tatsuki moved to hit her again, but Kana was quick enough to grab her wrist. Tatsuki growled and brought her other hand up to latch onto Kana's fingers but Kana grabbed that one too.
"Wha'cha gonna do, Arisawa?"
"I'm gonna kick your ass, that's what!" The short girl pulled her legs up to wrap around Kana's hips and pull her to the ground. Kana 'tsked' and hooked her leg around the other girl's, locking her legs where they were and arching her back to put pressure on her wrists and pin her to the ground.
"You give up, Arisawa?"
"Never, Takahashi!" Tatsuki thrashed about trying to dislodge the larger girl but Kana only cackled and parted her legs to drop her weight and press her chest to Tatsuki's, stopping her from breaking free bu thrusting upwards.
"WOAH! THIS IS LIKE A DREAM COME TRUE!" Both of the dark haired girl's eyes shot to the side at the shout, and Kana's lips turned to a scowl at the sight of Keigo's nosebleed, Mizuiro and Chad also looking a bit shocked behind him.
"Can't even fight any more without some pervert ruining shit." She shifted to get off of Tatsuki who's face was flushed red with embarrassment. The shorter teenager sprinted off to kill Keigo, and Kana moved to sit by Ichigo as Chad took her spot beside the giggling orangette. Kana watched the group with a slight frown as they interacted, eventually leaning back against the wall and closing her eyes.
"Oi, Kana." A rough voice whispered right next to her ear. She didn't bother opening her eyes, instead choosing to jab her elbow out and smirking when she felt it connect to Ichigo's side.
"You're too close, ya moron. Whadd'ya want anyway?"
"Has Urahara or Yoruichi ever mentioned a Shinji Hirako?" Kana opened her eyes to blink at the serious look on Ichigo's face.
"Not that I remember...why?"
"He's a new kid that transferred in today but he seems...different. I'm pretty sure there's something going on with him."
"Shinji Hirako, huh. Well..." Kana was quiet for a moment as she carefully figured out what to say before speaking quietly.
"I was gonna wait a bit longer for this, but I midaswell get it started now. I need more training in case anything happens again so I'm probably gonna disappear for a little while and get Urahara and them to train me. I'll ask if they know anything about this guy when I get there tonight."
"Wha-why are you leaving? What do you need training for?" Kana's face twisted into a scowl as Ichigo started near-shouting.
"Keep your voice down ya fucking idiot!" Luckily everyone still seemed preoccupied with watching Keigo scream and run from Tatsuki.
"I need training in order to get stronger, why else would I need to train for?"
"Yeah but why? What do you need to be stronger for?"
"Ohh, I don't know, maybe because there's some crazy asshole who thinks himself a God who tried to kill our friend in the past and we'll need to fight him again in the future?"
"Yeah, but you don't need to fight." Kana scoffed and stood, scowling as she tried to storm away. Ichigo leapt up and grabbed her around the wrist to stop her. Kana sent an angry jolt of her reiatsu at him in the familiar form of a purple spark, but Ichigo just tightened his grip and narrowed his eyes at her.
"Fuck off and let me go!"
"Why are you so insistent you fight Aizen? I'm going to get stronger to protect you all so you don't need to!"
Kana watched out of the corner of her eyes as someone finally noticed Kana and Ichigo's bickering. Orihime was watching with wide eyes, hands clutched to her chest.
"That's none of your fucking business! If I want to fight, I'm gonna fight! You can't fucking control what I do."
"You're always so distant! Even when we were rescuing Rukia you kept away from everyone else and went off to do your own thing!"
Both Ishida and Chad were standing next to Orihime now. Kana tore her wrist from Ichigo's grip by force this time. When she spoke next she tried her best to keep herself from shouting again.
"So what? I was too weak to do anything, so I got stronger. Soon enough, Ichigo, you're not going to be the strongest one here." She shoved past him to get her bag, heading quickly to the stairwell.
"I'll message you if I figure anything out. I'll see you when I see you." Kana moved to a sprint as she slammed the door behind her, leaping down several stairs at a time.
She had originally planned on relaxing for a week or two with her friends, but now she was pissed enough to just go right into her training. She felt bad about not talking to Orihime about it, but if Ichigo wanted to be in full control of everything then he could fucking do it himself.
Kana wasn't sure how she had managed it, but she had ran all the way to the Urahara Shoten from the school without getting lost even once. She let herself inside with a slam of the sliding door, kicking her shoes off in the entrance way and throwing her bag to the ground. She stormed past the two kids and Tessai in the kitchen, making a beeline for the stairs. She growled as she threw open the door to Urahara's room to see the man sprawled out on his futon snoring.
"OI! Urahara! Wake up!" Kana growled from the door way. He twitched before his lips curled into a perverted grin but he didn't wake. With a slight groan Kana thought about storming in to wake him up but after what happened the last time she didn't want any nonsense so instead she turned to head back to the kitchen.
"Oi, Tessai! Go wake the clogged asshole up, I need training." Tessai was quiet for a second before humming and nodding.
"What is it you want training on?" Kana blinked, surprised by the question before shrugging.
"I don't know. Anything, everything. All I know is I need to be stronger." She awkwardly shuffled her feet at Tessai's heavy stare.
"Hmmm...I suppose then since Yoruichi-sama is out and the boss is sleeping...we can get started on teaching you Kido."
Kana's eyes sparked to life and she grinned widely before throwing her arms around the now blushing giant.
"Thanks, Tessai! Oh I can't wait to learn Kido! I'm sure I'll master it in no time."
