A/N: This is it. The final chapter. I need to end this and I think it would have been pointless to try and drag on a story as old as this one. I do hope, however, that this is still a satisfying ending. Thank you to those who followed and added this story to your favorites list.

Please enjoy.

Nana gathered her bags by the door. She grabbed her jacket from the desk and slipped it on. She must have been excited because she was wearing a dress that came up to her knees. Dresses were rare enough but one you could actually see her legs in was unheard of. In only a matter of hours she'd be home, in bed, reveling in the sanctuary of her room. Before running away to the sanctity of her home, however, she had something very important to do.

She had to confess to Bokuto. There was no getting around it. Nana didn't like how she felt when she thought about him or when she saw him or when he talked to her. Being on edge all the time was not fun. This infatuation thing was clearly overrated and bad for one's health- young or old.

With some hesitation Nana made her way outside with her bags thrown over her shoulders and dragging one behind. She went over what she would say when she saw Bokuto. She hurried to the parking lot where they were supposed to gather but found none of them there. She traversed the cars and found Kuroo's red and silver camaro but no Kuroo. They were supposed to give her a ride home but none of them were there.

"Chibi-chan! Good, you're here."

The sound of his voice made her tense and her stomach flipped. She knew she was blushing horribly so she tried to hide her face. Bokuto approached her. "Are you okay, Nana-chan?"

"Mm. I'm fine! Wh-where's Honoka-chan?"

"I don't know. They were supposed to meet us here. I can't get in touch with Kuroo or Kenma either." He scratched his head. "I guess we could wait here for them then."

Nana's eyes started to tear up from how hot her face was getting. I know they did this on purpose! I didn't ask them for their help! She pulled up her hood to try and hide her face as he turned to lean back against the car. It's too soon! I'm not ready. This is too embarrassing. My head feels like it's going to explode. I have to come up with some kind of excuse to get out of here.

"So what are you doing over the summer break?"

Why'd you have to talk?! I was just about to escape! "I-I was just planning on staying home, you know. Relaxing away from school."

"That sounds nice."

Nana hated how dejected she felt hearing him respond so disinterestedly. Maybe I should just tell me. I should just blurt it out! Get it over with.

Three cars down, behind them, the other participants watched the pair. Kenma was once again roped into being involved. Honoka and Kuroo were the master minds and were locked into their conversation. Well, they could exactly hear what was being said but they could tell it was awkward.

"She'll break soon," Honoka said. "She said she'd confess before we left for break so this is her only chance. Otherwise she'll be dreading coming back."

"Do you think we should text them so they don't leave? I know chibi-chan is plotting an escape right now," Kuroo said.

"Will it work?"

"We'll just say we're running late."

Kenma watched as they pulled out their phones, texted then put them away. Seconds later Nana and Bokuto were checking their phones.

"They're running late," Bokuto said as he put his phone away. "Who knows what they're getting into."

Those liars! They're probably enjoying this from somewhere nice and cozy.

Bokuto stood up straight. "Hey, you wanna get something to eat? I haven't eaten breakfast yet. Kuro said we'd get something together but now..."

"U-um sure," Nana almost whispered. "What about my bags?"

Bokuto picked up the two duffle bags and slung the straps over opposite shoulders. "Ready?" Nana nodded and he led the way to the cafeteria. She clutched the handle of her rolling luggage.

"Nice move," Honoka whispered to Kuroo.

They high fived and Kenma stood up. "Can I go now?"

"We have to follow them!" Honoka declared. "When Nana-chan finally confesses I wanna be able to swoop in and catch her when she faints."

"I don't have to come for that," Kenma said.

"If you don't how are you going to explain being so late?" Kuroo asked.

"I don't have to explain anything." Kenma replied as he walked around to the passenger side door. "I can stay here and say I got here after they left."

"Ah, that's true." Honoka said. "Well, suit yourself." She looked at Kuroo. "Give him your key so he can get in the car. I'm sure he'd rather wait inside so no I'll bother him."

Kuroo looked at Kenma and was taken aback by the almost smug look on his face. If you didn't know Kenma he was being his usual disinterested self. Kuroo, his long time friend, noticed the slight lift at the corner of his mouth and the downward turn of his brow. He was giving him that "you should listen to your girlfriend and hand over the keys to your precious camaro or she'll get mad" look.

"I don't know, I don't think I could trust Kenma with my keys. He doesn't pay much attention when he's playing his games."

Kenma's expression fell. "I'm not turning it on. I'm just unlocking the door."

"What if you lose the key?"

"I'll be inside the carb Kuro."

"What if you have to lose the bathroom?"

"I'll take the key with me and lock the door."

"Will you wash your hands before touching them again?"

Honoka snatched the keys from his pocket and smashed them into Kenma's hand, effectively stabbing him several times. "We don't have time for this! Kenma, if you lose this key I will beat you up. Kuro, let's go!"

Kenma put the keys in his pocket and rubbed his hand. "She's way too into this."

She had gotten ahead of herself. This was not how she wanted this whole thing to go. Now she was alone with Bokuto eating in the cafeteria. It wasn't empty but it wasn't packed either. It was the worst possible situation.

This is how it was supposed to go. She would meet everyone at the car. They would take her home and then, being a comfortable and familiar place, she'd have more confidence to ask him to speak to her alone. They'd go for a short walk or maybe they would talk right there (she was still deciding that part). Either way she should be in a relatively private setting appropriate for confessing one's feelings- not still on campus eating in the cafeteria!

Bokuto was occupied with his meal but Nana hadn't even touched her food. The tension was getting to her stomach and worse yet all of it was coming from her. The dress she was wearing was making her self conscious. Bokuto hadn't said anything about it.

That's right. He hasn't said anything about my dress at all. He didn't even tease me about how short it is! Did I wait too long? Has he found someone else and doesn't feel the need to even tease me anymore? What if I confess and he really does have someone else he's interested in?

Unbeknownst to her, Bokuto had stopped eating and was paying a lot of attention to her. She hadn't touched her food and she hadn't commented on anything. Usually, by now she would have complained about Honoka and Kuroo or scrutinized something he was doing but she hadn't said a word. The freaked out expression on her face wasn't making him feel any better either.

"Oi, chibi-chan! You okay over there?"

Nana started, bumping her knee on the table then folded over to put her forehead on the table. "Oww..."

"What are you thinking about? You're never this jumpy. You can tell me. What's up?"

Nana stayed like that for a minute. We're friends, huh? He's not wrong, I guess. We are pretty much friends. He teased me but I guess that was just a guy thing and not necessarily him being into me or anything.

She sat up and adjusted her hair. He's just a friend. We're just talking like friends would. "I... There was someone I wanted to talk to before I went home."

Bokuto started eating again. "Did you find them?"

She shrugged. "I did but... I couldn't tell them."

"Was it important?"

"To me it was. I was determined to tell them no matter what. My break would be meaningless if I knew and they didn't."

"Do you think they're still here?"

She looked at her hands and nodded.

"Then I'll go with you and we can tell them together. If it's too embarrassing I'll stay back and let you talk, but I'll walk you there if you want."

Nana sighed. "I don't know if this person already knows or if they have someone else they trust more than me and they might not accept what I have to say."

Bokuto folded his arms. "If it's important to you then you should say it. If they believe you then you did good. If they don't, you still did good. You gotta be honest Nana-chan. Whatever's bothering you you should just say it no matter what."

Nana took a deep breath. Be honest. Don't hold back. "Y-you didn't say anything about my dress."

Bokuto's expression fell as his arms did. He started to blush and Nana's heart fluttered. "I know you don't like when I tease you about stuff like that and this was the last day we were going to see each other."

"You could have at least said you liked it..."

"But you always get mad when I say I like your short skirts. Like that time with Akaashi."

Nana frowned. "That doesn't mean I want you to say nothing..." She looked back to her hands. "I kind of liked it when you teased me...a little bit."

Bokuto's eyes widened and he leaned forward. "Nana-chan, did you wear that dress because you knew I would like it?"

Her head felt like it was about to explode. This is my chance! I created an opening here! I have to say it now! "She couldn't bear to look at him. She could actually die if she did so she looked at the table.

"I...I-I...like...this dress," she said. "I like this drew and...I wanted to show it to...the person I like..."

Bokuto sat back. "Is that the person you wanted to talk about the important thing?"

Nana mustered all of her strength and stood up from the table. "You are the person I like and I wore this dress for you! You are so annoying and you keep doing things opposite of what I expect after building up my expectations but I like you, Bokuto!"

Several people stared and some stopped but most kept minding their own business. Bokuto jumped up from his seat and grabbed her wrist, pulling her towards the door. She was still in shock so she followed without a fuss. They didn't go far, just outside around the corner.

Bokuto was blushing madly and Nana knew she looked the same. "I didn't think you'd do anything like that. You could have died back there!"

"I almost wish I had," she said with a groaned. "I wasn't lying though. I really do like you."

"I believe you. You wouldn't say it if you weren't serious, that's how you are."

She still couldn't look at him. Bokuto moved closer to her and pulled her gently into a snug hug. "This okay, right?"

"Y-yeah..."

She put her arms around him and leaned into the embrace, all the while feeling like she was on fire. The embarrassment was so real just then. She blurted out her confession where others could hear her and now she was embracing him. They aere standing so close. He was so tall and slender.

It was kind of comforting knowing he still felt the same way and she was the one he wanted. He wouldn't tease anyone but her.

Behind a tree nearby Honoka and Kuroo watched like doting parents.

"She did it!" Honoka whispered excitedly. "I'm so proud of her."

"Finally. Bokuto needs someone to reel him in sometimes and I think chibi-chan could manage."

"Come on, let's greet them and head out. I know Nana-chan is gonna need some recovery time."

They ran up from seemingly nowhere, giving flustered apologies and Honoka smiled more than she really should have. They gathered her bags and helped take them back to the car. Kenma was waiting patiently inside when they returned but refused to open the door for a few minutes. He did pop the trunk so they could put her bags in the back though. There was only so much petty one could be.

The ride back home was the most exciting and nerve wracking sitting right next the guy she had just confessed to with others around. Bokuto held onto her hand the whole ride. Honoka talked so it wouldn't be as awkward but there was no saving Nana's heart. She was no good at this point.

When they arrived Nana hesitated so Bokuto got out on his side and she followed him, still holding tightly onto his hand.

"Do you want me to help you take your bags to your room?" He asked as he opened the trunk.

"Uh, yeah," she answered absently. "There's something else I wanna talk to you about."

Honoka peeked out the window. "Take your time. You probably won't be seeing us anytime soon since you'll lock yourself in your room all break."

"You're not wrong," Nana replied.

Honoka rolled her eyes. Nana led Bokuto inside, announcing their entrance. Her mom and older brother came running, their expressions already flustered. "Welcome home," her mom said quickly. "Who is your guest?"

"This is Kotarou Bokuto. Bokuto, this is my mom and older brother." She looked back to them. "H-he's not staying. He's just helping me bring my things to my room."

"Still, I have some tea already made if you'd like some," her mom said.

"Thank you very much Koizumi-san, but I don't want to trouble you for a short visit."

"Come on."

He followed Nana up to her room and placed her bags by her bed. She plopped down on her bed and sighed heavily. Finally, I'm back home.

"So, what did you want to talk about?" Bokuto asked.

Nana offered him the chair at her desk and he sat. She readied herself for another embarrassing conversation. Downstairs she could hear the others coming inside.

"It's pretty obvious but I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to relationships," she said. "So, I noticed you're a bit of a spaz. Please, just be patient with me."

Bokuto smiled at her. "You're my little hamster. I'm not gonna rush anything. We can go as slow as you want to."

"I don't believe you but okay."

Bokuto sat up. "Ouch. Ah, now that we're dating we should text each other more often. Can I call you sometime?"

Nana made a face. "You can but I can't promise I'll respond."

"Aww, why? There's no point in calling then."

"I don't want this to interfere with my studies. That's where my attention needs to stay."

Bokuto pouted. It was adorable. "You can text me. It's less distracting."

"I should probably tell you I'll be busy most of the time with volleyball but I'll dedicate the rest of my time to you, okay?"

Nana nodded. "And I'll make sure you dedicate that time to studying. We can do it together. If your grades start slipping I'm not gonna answer texts or calls."

Again, Bokuto was deflated. He really did wear his emotions on his sleeves. She had to keep him together though. She would hate to be the reason he ended up flunking out of school. Bokuto was a hard worker despite his flexible moods. It wouldn't be fair to him if she didn't help him succeed.

A thought occurred to Nana and she started to blush. Now that we're a couple, does this mean I'll get to have my first kiss?! I really don't think I could handle that!

The bed dipped beside her as Bokuto joined her on the bed. She hid her face when he tried to look at her.

"Huh? What's wrong?"

She turned away from him. "D-don't look at me!"

"Why? I like looking at you."

I feel like my head's gonna explode! I can't take it anymore. He needs to go now.

"I-I think it's time you left. I'll text you later, okay?"

Bokuto's heart sank. "Alright." He stood from the bed. "I guess I'll see you later then."

Nana peeked through her fingers just in time to see him reaching for her hands. He parted them and kissed her forehead. "I'll see you later then."

Nana was speechless all the way up to an hour after it happened. She stared at the curling. "It's official. I'm dating Kotarou Bokuto. Oh my god..."
