Chapter 6
Moonrise was still walking, deep in her thoughts. How can she hide this from me? Why didn't she tell me the truth?
Then a male voice suddenly spoke.
"The truth hurts doesn't it." it said.
Moonrise now alert, looked around.
"I'm surprised she didn't tell you but then again, she didn't want you to meet me." it said again.
"Who are you? Show yourself!" Moonrise yelled.
"Ooo. Feisty one, aren't we?" the voice said.
"Why don't you come out and fight!" Moonrise said, summoning out her Daggers.
"Oh. There's no reason for that." the voice said.
Then a male figure appeared out of black mist with an evil smile on his face.
"Who-who are you?" Moonrise asked. She was afraid now and her Daggers disappeared.
"Man, she didn't tell you nothing, did she." the male figure said.
As Moonrise looked at him, she felt like he was familiar. Like she seen him somewhere. Then she realized. The male figure was the same one from her dream.
"You're Shadow, aren't you. My..." Moonrise trailed off.
"Father?" Shadow finished. "Yes. I am Prince Shadow of the Kingdom of Izar. Nice to finally meet you, daughter."
Back with Ignis and Silver, they were both getting worried.
"It's been awhile. Should we go check on her?" Silver asked.
Ignis looked in the direction where he last heard Moonrise. He knew something was not right.
"Why'd you do it?" Moonrise asked Shadow.
"Do what?" Shadow asked, knowing full well what she was talking about.
"Why did you destroy the city. Why did you destroy my home!" Moonrise asked.
"Simple. I wanted to rule both kingdoms but she didn't want to." Shadow said.
"What do you mean she didn't want to?" Moonrise asked.
"She didn't want to be royalty. She wanted to be stuck as a low-born. She even decided that I would be living as a low-born. We got into an argument that ended up in a fight. If she would've listened to me, the city would've been still here." Shadow explained.
"So, you're blaming my mother for what you did. For what your actions did." Moonrise said.
"Okay fine. Part of that was my fault but they deserved it. They disrespected me!" Shadow said.
"And you deserve their disrespectfulness. You're not warm-hearted. You're cold-hearted. You never cared about anything but yourself! I see why Mother didn't tell me who you are." Moonrise said and she started to walk away.
Shadow looked at her angrily but then he smirked.
"Do you want to know how your mother really died?" Shadow asked slyly.
Moonrise stopped in her tracks. She turned around to face him.
"How do you know she died?" Moonrise asked suspiciously.
"Beacuse...I'm the one...who killed her." Shadow said.
"No. No. You're lying!" Moonrise said, backing away from him.
"I assure you I am not lying. How else can you explain that I tried to kill your other father, Nyx Ulric." Shadow said as he walked towards Moonrise. She was still backing away from him.
"No. Stop! I don't believe you!" Moonrise said. She was ready to call out Ignis and Silver.
"How can you say that? You weren't there. Besides, I'm not going to lose you again." Shadow said.
Moonrise started to run but Shadow grabbed her arm. She struggled to get out of his hold.
"Ignis! Silver! Help!" she yelled out.
"Oh no you don't." Shadow said. He hit the back of Moonrise's head and she fell unconscious in his arms. He carried her in his arms and was about to leave when Silver and Ignis arrived.
They abruptly stopped in their tracks when they saw him.
"Shadow." Silver said, glaring at him.
"Ah. Silver. Nice to see you again." Shadow said lightly.
"Let her go!" Ignis said.
"Don't think that's going to happen. Besides, wouldn't want you to ruin my plans. Orpheuses! Kill them!" Shadow said as he walked away and disappeared in dark mist.
Thousands of Orpheuse dragons appeared out of the dark mist and all at the same time attacked Silver and Ignis.
Silver became a dragon and stood in front of Ignis, protecting him. As the Orpheuse dragons were inches away from him, he let out a bright solar light from his body, engulfing the dark dragons in light.
