Kami walked around The Lookout. It was so refreshing to not have the Earth in danger, and he tried to take every advantage of it.

As guardian of the Earth, his focus, and mind were usually in constant turmoil. Now that the Earth was currently in peace- he was able to focus on other things.

He walked by the library and stopped- confused.

There was someone in there, but someone he'd never expect.

He opened the door, and saw Piccolo leaned against one of the shelves reading a dictionary- clearly frustrated. The younger Namekian angrily shoved the book back into the shelf.

"Piccolo?"

He looked up startled.

"What do you want, old man?"

Kami chuckled. "My apologies. I was just curious as to why you were in the library."

He took a step closer.

"And why you're so frustrated?"

Piccolo sighed, and grabbed the book back from off the shelf.

He then flipped to a page, and laid it on the table for Kami to read, pointing at a word.

Kami leaned over and read the word.

"Date?"

"Yeah. None of the definitions are right."

Kami read the definitions carefully before looking back up.

"These all seem to be correct?"

Piccolo snarled and closed the book.

"Gohan said that a date was when 2 people go out to eat. It doesn't say that anywhere in here...you'd think he'd be right since his mom makes him read these things every day."

He leaned back against the shelf.

"Well, have you heard the word used elsewhere?"

Piccolo blushed. Unsure of whether he should tell Kami about what Kate had said.

No point in hiding it now..

"I'm supposed to show Kate around the land near Gohan's on Tuesday, and she called it a date."

He looked away to hide his embarrassment- ready for how Kami was going to react.

"Well then. I've read many books as well, and though 'date' has several meanings- in terms of the context you've been hearing it in...I'd say that a date is when 2 people spend time together in hopes to know each other better for-" he coughed "romantic purposes."

Piccolo blushed even harder.

"But that's not the-"

Kami began to walk away.

"Just enjoy yourself on Tuesday. It can be whatever you'd like it to be."

Piccolo stood in shock as Kami closed the door behind him.

what's wrong with me..

Kate lay in bed anxiously that night.

She grabbed her phone and sighed before sending a text to Bulma.

"I have a date on Tuesday. We're going to go for a hike.."

Kate laughed a bit to herself. There was no way she could tell Bulma that her date was Piccolo.

"Woah! Glad you're back at it, girl! What are you going to wear? But aren't you worried about getting sweaty?"

"It's just a hike. I'll probably just wear something plain...and don't worry- I won't forget my deodorant."

"Hahahaha. Well if things start to go sour, just call me and I'll pick you up wherever you guys are."

"Thanks, Bulma. You rock."

"Just keep me updated! Oh and btw, Charles was asking about you. He said he's tried calling you, but your number doesn't seem to be working. I know you're probably still mad at him but god, he's hot."

Kate flinched. Obviously reading his name brought back bad memories.

She scrolled through her phone's photos, and stopped at one of him and her on the beach. His piercing blue eyes digging his way into her heart.

She quickly deleted the picture before putting her phone down.

"Ass hole."

He was the protege to the greatest martial artist in the world, but to Kate- he was just Charles. The 3 years they shared together had their ups and downs but his growing fame seemed to become harder, and harder for her to deal with.

Kate knew he was always good with his fans, but couldn't help but feel insecure. Her insecurities were justified when Charles was caught getting rather close to another woman at a night club.

She never asked for an explanation- she just cut him out of her life. The pain was too much.

She sighed and looked around the room- stopping at the family picture that Gohan had drawn.

She smiled as she looked at Piccolo before drifting off into sleep.
