Kingdom Hearts: The Winter War

A/N: Well after nearly three years, we've finally reached the ending of this crossover story. I have a lot of emotions that I'm feeling but I'll save everything at the final author's note at the end of the chapter. I will say that this chapter severs as a conclusion and epilogue to the story, foreshadowing what's to come in the sequel. Like I said, all will be explained at the end. For now, please enjoy the final chapter of the story.

Ep. 33: "Moving Forward into the Future! Until We Meet Again!"

"We will now pass judgment!"

Deep beneath an enclave within the Seireitei was called the Seijōtōkyorin. Inside this residential district was the compound of Central 46, the judicial authority of the Soul Society. In the events that followed the Winter War and the defeat of Sōsuke Aizen, new members were established to continue the work of the judiciary system. After nearly two weeks since the war's end, the time had come to pass judgment on the traitor Aizen, who stood before Central 46 as they were about to pass judgment.

Flowing his defeat against Sora and Ichigo, Aizen was strapped to a wooden chair with black restraints wrapped around his body and a large black eyepatch over his right eye and black boots. The sound of wood against wood was heard in a dark room as a light shined down on Aizen. One of the judges shouted, "Former Squad 5 Captain, Sōsuke Aizen! We sentenced you to the lowest level of underground prison eight; Muken. Where you will remain for eighteen thousand eight hundred years!"

Aizen heard his sentence clearly. However, he did not lash out angrily or lament in remorse or depression. Instead, a smirk appeared on his face as he felt amused at the people around.

"Oh really?" Aizen asked, getting their attention. "Interesting. The likes of you passing judgment on me. It strikes me as a bit comical."

This comment severed the aggravate the members of Central 46 only further. They were not going to take insults from a disgraced captain. "Incredible! You believe you can sit there and push your luck just because you're immortal!" another judge shouted.

"We don't have to listen to this!" a third judge shouted. "Restrain his mouth and eyes!"

"The years of your sentence has increased to twenty thousand!" The judge that sentenced Aizen shouted in anger. Aizen's eyes tightened as they covered his other eye, leaving him to see nothing but darkness. He could still here the fierce comments the members of Central 46 were still giving, mainly that this is what he deserves. However, they were the least on his mind as he thought back to his defeat at the ones who defeated him.

"You may have won for now, Sora and Ichigo. But don't believe that your troubles will be over by my defeat." Aizen inwardly spoke. "Though you both paid high prices for your temporary unfathomable powers, I know full well that you both will find ways to overcome this. And when you both do...be ready, especially you Sora. You believed that she was your salvation. But in actuality, she will become your undoing. Leading you on a path that she guided, only for you to share her fate."

As Aizen felt his mouth being binded, he then thought back to Ichigo. "As for you, Ichigo Kurosaki, you still have so much more to learn about yourself. Especially when it comes to your family lineage. The family of you mother…Masaki Kurosaki."

Meanwhile, Gin laid down in his cot, humming to himself without a care in the world as he read a magazine published by the Women Soul Reaper Association. Following his and Tōsen's arrest after the battle had ended, they both received a much lighter sentence from Central 46 thanks to some strings that Yen Sid, Yamamoto, and Urahara pulled for them. As a result, they were both sent to the Maggot's Nest, an underground prison under the supervision of the Stealth Force Detention Unit. Gin was given his own private cell not far from the spacious area where the other prisoners roam free. Tōsen however, was placed in the same isolated cell that once held Mayuri Kurotsuchi nearly a hundred years ago.

Gin continued reading as he ignored the screams of pain coming from several prisoners outside of his cell as he heard sounds that they were being thrown around. He shook his head and chuckled at the unfortunate prisoners who got in the way of his visitor. One of the main rules of the Maggot's Nest is that the prison staff and visitors are not allowed to carry Zanpakutōs, as a way of preventing rebellion and escape attempts. The only way for a Soul Reaper to be permitted entry is if they are adept at hand-to-hand combat. When the screaming stopped, Gin heard his cell door being opened and looked up from his magazine to see Sajin Komamura entering, with a bag of food.

"Komamura, so nice of you to drop by." Gin cheerfully greeted, putting his magazine down. Komamura did not return the greeting but looked down and noticed the magazine in Gin's hands.

The wolf-captain sighed. "Stealing from the guards?"

"It's not my fault they leave themselves open." Gin refuted. "Of course, I only do it when I'm bored. Or if I'm tired of eating the scraps the warden gives us."

Komamura sighed at the fact that Gin was treating himself like more of a guest rather than a prisoner. Regardless, he handed over the bag to Gin who accepted it. He opened the bag and smiled as he pulled out the contents, bread made from dried persimmons.

"Dried persimmons beard. I must say that Rangiku always knows my favorite treat." Gin said.

"Though Lieutenant Matsumoto prepared them, Izuru was the one who picked them." Komamura explained. "In fact, he has taken it upon himself to tend to the persimmon trees that you have planted across Squad 3's barracks. Even though a majority of the officers were against the idea."

Gin let out a chuckle, "Good to know that Izuru is doing well for himself. But…I know you didn't come all the way here just to deliver Rangiku's package." Komamura did not reply, but his silence was all Gin needed to know. "I take it the information I provided came in handy."

The Squad 7 Captain remained silent for a moment before replying, "How were you able to uncover the truth of the man that claimed the life of Kaname's friend?"

"What can I say, I've always had a knack for eavesdropping." Gin claimed. "Looking through some old records, I was able to identify the man that Kaname wanted dead. Once I saw his face, I began to tail him discreetly and he never saw it coming."

The wolf-captain looked down as Gin continued, "Gotta say that aside from murder, he had a pretty tall order; accepting bribes from thugs, selling Soul Reaper property, altering mission records, abusing his own colleagues."

Komamura let out a snarl, feeling disgusted at this man's actions. "A man who held no pride or honor did not deserve to call himself a Soul Reaper. If I am to be honest, I cannot condemn Kaname for his action. His anger towards him was not unjustified."

"And I take it Central 46 felt the same way?" Gin inquired, though knew the answer as Komamura said, "From what I have heard, the evidence was carefully reviewed by Central 46 following the sentencing of Aizen. I estimate that they are sending the Stealth Force to apprehend him as we speak. Given his numerous crimes, he will be sent to the Central Great Underground Prison."

Gin nodded. "Good thing I had other credible sources. If it came from me, then there was no way those uptights would have bought it."

While Komamura agreed, there was one thing that still bugged him. "If I might ask, why did you gather the evidence on that man in the first place? I know it was not because you sympathized for Kaname."

The silver-haired man shrugged. "You're not wrong. As I've said, I'd already plan on killing Aizen. But I knew that it would mean open season on me since Kaname was practically Aizen's lapdog. While I was prepared to defend myself, I gathered the evidence in hopes that I could strike a bargain with him."

"I see." The wolf-captain understood. "Tell me…how is Kaname's condition?" He asked, hesitantly. Gin's expression became neutral as he resumed reading his magazine.

"When we were brought back, they took Kaname to Squad 4's barracks for treatment. Gotta say, that Orihime sure knows how to do her job. As the way it stands, he's physically healthy."

"What do you mean?" Komamura asked.

"The guy practically gave up everything he had to join Aizen's side, thinking he'd be the one to show him the right path." Gin admitted. "Even when he was blown up, he vaguely remembers hearing Aizen callously throw him aside like he was another disposable pawn. He's alright physically but…he took a lot of emotional damage."

To empathize his point, the scene changes to Tōsen's cell, which was completely disheveled with a tossed over mattress food tossed over the floor. Tōsen himself was also in a deplorable stated as his white prison robe was in tatters and his hair was unbraided and unkempt. Bags were visible under his eyes, making it apparent that Tōsen had gotten little sleep since his imprisonment. Tōsen gnashes his teeth before letting out a sorrowful scream while clasping his head, his voice echoing across the dark hall.

Komamura's ears twitched as he looked in the direction where Tōsen's cell was located, his high-sensitive hearing detecting his friend's cry even though he was far from the vicinity. Gin noticed his reaction and shook his head. "It's probably for the best that you don't see him now. He needs time to sort things out."

The wolf-captain closed his eyes and nodded, knowing it was not the right time to see his best friend. However, he could not help but feel sorry for him as he could see that Tōsen was not just a blind follower (no pun intended) but a poor soul who was led astray by Aizen's lies. If there was anyone that he should feel anger towards, it's Aizen. No matter what happens, he vowed to hate the man for all eternity. With nothing left, Komamura began to make his leave, though paused as he opened the door to face Gin.

"Would you like me to convey a message to Matsumoto?" He asked. Gin pondered for a moment, then said. "Nah. If anything, tell her to go easy on the cinnamon."

Komamura chuckled at Gin's humor before making his leave. When the jail door closed, Gin took another bite of his dried persimmon bread. He smiled as the thought of Rangiku came to mind. "Not bad."

Elsewhere, inside a secluded cave within the Seireitei, a cold mist began to fill the cave as numerous stalagmites and rock fragments were frozen over. Heavy panting was also heard as Hitsugaya was revealed to have been the one responsible for this as he was donned in his Bankai form. Without wasting time, Tōshirō soared high in the air as he waved his sword, sending a wave of ice in the form of a dragon. The ice dragon roared as it struck the roof of the cave, sending several stalagmites falling towards Hitsugaya. The young captain's eyes hardened as with a wave of his Zanpakutō, the falling stalagmites were all destroyed.

Hitsugaya panted heavily from exhaustion as one of the ice petals cracked before breaking apart, much to his surprise. "This isn't good enough. At this rate-" His eyes widened as he gripped his sword tightly with both hands. "…at this rate…I'll fail. I'll never be strong enough to protect Momo."

His eyes widened as brief flashes of him piercing Momo when he was under Aizen's hypnosis came crashing to his mind. He would never forget how he nearly killed Momo that day or her own reaction afterwards. In the two weeks since the war ended, Hitsugaya took it upon himself to train regularly to increase his own battle power. Even though Momo had forgiven him and has since been regaining her former self, he still has not forgiven himself for having been so weak of mind back then. And in the three days passing since the beach party, he made up for it by training overnight.

"I have to keep practicing. Whatever it takes to become more adept in using my own Bankai." Hitsugaya declared before letting out a battle cry as he resumed his training.

However, unknown to him, Rangiku and Momo were standing outside the cave's entrance as the cool wind blew past them. Momo barely endured the force of the wind pressure while Rangiku was leaning against the edge of the entrance.

"Tōshirō is really determined, isn't he?" Momo asked, melancholy. Rangiku noticed her expression but before she could say anything, Momo continued. "It's been two weeks since the war ended and right now everyone is moving forward. Neither Shūhei, Renji, or Izuru were at the barracks. They must have gone to somewhere to train themselves."

Rangiku remained silent for a moment, before replying. "We should be doing the same thing. It would be unhealthy for us to remain stuck in the past. Right now, I believe Sora's friends are doing the same thing."

"Sora." Momo whispered. "He really is incredible. Even though he had nothing to gain from this battle, he still chose to fight for us. And that cost him a great sacrifice. Out of anyone I could think of, wasn't he the noblest one of us all?"

The Squad 10 Lieutenant was a little surprised at first. As they spoke, another force of cold winds burst from within the cave, causing Rangiku to nearly flinch as she was off guard.

"He's most likely doing it because of me." Momo began, getting her attention. "To him…to everyone…I'm just a weak person that needs to be protected."

"Momo-"

"It was the same with my squad. When Aizen left and with no captain to take his place, I was left in charge of Squad 5 on my own." Momo began. "But I was completely dependent on Aizen and I didn't know how to lead a squad by myself. Even then, I spent most of my time sulking, crying, wallowing in self-pity because of how lost I was without Aizen. And as a result, I neglected my own squad members and my duties as a Lieutenant."

Momo clenched her arm tightly as her bangs shadowed her eyes. "Aizen…for so long…he took advantage of my feelings to turn me against Tōshirō. But it's not like I can blame him for everything. It was my own weakness that made it easy for him." Momo released her hold as she continued. "Gin was right; a person can't become too reliant on others. Otherwise, they would never be able to start living their lives."

She turned to face Rangiku, the buxom woman gasping as she saw the determination in her eyes. "That is why…starting now…I want to learn how to stand on my own. Squad 5 will be getting a new captain and I know he won't be as kind as the man Aizen pretended to be. That is why I will work hard and not fall behind anymore. If Squad 5 is ever in danger, I will support them. If the Seireitei is ever in danger, I will be the first to the front lines. No matter what happens, I won't cry or run away anymore. And one day, I wish to be needed. Not as a mere Lieutenant, but as…"

A determined smile formed on Momo's face, "…as the next Captain of Squad 5."

Rangiku knew that Momo said those words with true conviction, more than she had ever seen in the months following Aizen's defection. This was a good thing, as she could truly say that the hold Aizen had over Momo was gone completely and her friend was now aspiring to move forward with a goal in mind. She was happy for her friend's newfound maturity, but it also made her feel a little sad. Not at Momo but herself.

"Even Momo has found the strength to move forward." She inwardly noted before thinking about Gin. The thought of her old childhood friend made her a bit despondent. While she was able to forgive him in the end, she was saddened that he had to be locked up in the Maggot's Nest. Due to her having no experience in unarmed combat, she would not be allowed entry to see him, having settled to ask Captain Komamura to deliver her packages. Still, being unable to see her friend made her feel sad and helpless.

"Once again you left me and didn't leave anything for me to remember you by. I never…liked that about you." Rangiku said. "But…if you had left something behind…I probably would not have been able to move on, just like you said. It shouldn't come as a surprise, since that's just the kind of man you are." Rangiku gave a small smiled at the thought. "If there is one thing, I regret is that I wish we had more time together. While I can't do anything for you now, I promise…that I'll continue to follow the example you set for me and become a stronger person. So that I can be ready for the day when we meet again."

"Momo." She called to her friend, getting her attention. "We can't let the boys get ahead of us. How about you and I have our own sparring session."

The Squad 5 Lieutenant smiled and nodded, "Sure."

The two girls made their leave for the training grounds. Though not before Rangiku looked up at the sky, smiling as if she felt Gin's presence. "Thanks Gin. I've always…loved that about you."

"No! No! NO!"

In Squad 12's laboratory, Mayuri slammed his fists on the keyboard in anger. The large monitor computer monitor he stood in front of showed in image of Sora, with a red word box that read "Signal out of range."

Standing next to him was a tall man with short, spiky black hair, which has a distinguished hairline running through it. He has three small horns protruding from his forehead. He wears a laboratory coat over the standard Shinigami shihakushō. His name is Akon, the 3rd Seat of Squad 12 and Vice-President of the Soul Reaper Department of Research and Development.

"I'm sorry captain, but the surveillance bacteria that you had placed on him is beyond our range." Akon explained. "Without a signal, we can't pinpoint his location."

Nemu, who stood next to her master, said, "I suppose we cannot mount a rescue operation for Sora?"

Mayuri merely scoffed. "Like I give a damn what happens to him. I only wanted to see what kinds of interesting things he'd encounter on his travels and log it into our database. I should thank that rodent king for letting me examine his communication device to expand the range of my surveillance drones. But that means nothing if I can't find anything!" He furiously knocked over his clipboard and papers, scattering them all over the floor.

Akon sighed as he said, "Captain, may I remind you that we've already gather enough data from when he battle the Espadas, Kaname Tōsen, and Sōsuke Aizen. I believe that should be enough to suffice for you."

This seemingly was enough to calm Mayuri down, as he cleared his throat. "Yes, you do have a point." He said while pulling up a screen with the image of Sora's Keyblade. "The power of the Keyblade is unlike anything I have ever witnessed. Clearly more advance than our own Zanpakutōs. Once I have equipped it to your own Zanpakuto Nemu, you shall become more than just a merely artificial entity."

Nemu made no reaction as she nodded before taking her leave. Akon watched her leave and slightly smiled, knowing that Mayuri's expectations of her was growing every single day. Of course, he would never outright admit it.

Meanwhile, as Nemu walked down the hall, she paused for a moment as she looked at her right hand. This was the hand she used to do the fist bumping with Sora three days ago. While thinking about Sora, Nemu curled her right hand into a fist before bumping it in the air.

"Bah-la-la-la-la-la-la." She said, moving her fingers. Giving a small smile, Nemu continued walking down the halls.

In Squad 1's barracks was the Head-Captain, who sat behind his desk as he was speaking with Master Yen Sid, who was visiting the Soul Society for his own reasons. In the weeks that followed the war's end, the old sorcerer had an ominous feeling that the dangers were far from over. It was the same feeling he had when he foresaw Xehanort's return or that Sora had been sent to Hueco Mundo which threw them into this terrible war.

Deciding to break the ice, Yamamoto spoke first. "Tell me, what has become of the remaining Guardians of Light?"

Yen Sid drank his tea as he replied, "They have all retreated to their respective worlds. However, Riku and Kairi have declared that they will leave their home world once they have recuperated. They will most certainly try to uncover the secrets needed to return Sora to the Realm of Light."

The Head-Captain hummed in thought, having been filled in on Sora's situation. "It is a tragedy to hear what has become of young Sora. Tell me, do you believe it is possible to return him after having paid the price for misusing the Power of Waking?"

The old sorcerer closed his eyes briefly before saying, "I have conversed with the stars, yet could not find a significant method to restore Sora. For now, everyone else will continue their own investigation and I shall continue to seek answers. In the meantime, I trust that he will do his job."

Yamamoto frowned a bit, knowing whom his old friend was referring to. "Ah yes, him. Do you believe he is capable for this task?"

"He had obtained significant information from his time serving Aizen. Unfortunately, they have been out of date for more than a century." Yen Sid explained. "Although, he learned one pivotal note from the documents that is sure to be accurate."

"Which is?"

"They will not strike for two more years or less."

The room was filled with grim silence as the two elderly men took in the news that they had learned. Two years. Yamamoto closed his eyes in grievance as he rubbed the bridges of his nose. They were barely recuperating from the last war they fought, but this-

"Sora's disappearance and the loss of Ichigo Kurosaki's powers, a terrible fate that could not have come a such timing." He said as he stood up and opened the sliding doors, stepping into the veranda in his office as they got a great view of the Seireitei. "I fear that this tranquil peace we fought to obtain will be burned away, by forces that seek our destruction."

Yen Sid did not know what to make of this himself. However, he could relate to how he was feeling. "The worse timing indeed. Although Xehanort has been defeated, I also fear that his defeat could not come without repercussions. One that threatens the stability of our worlds."

"Which is why I will continue to investigate more on this matter. Whilst he continues to gather more information on that group." Yen Sid informed. "Tell me, has Gin Ichimaru also complied with your demands.

"He has also looked into that group but claims he knows as much as Aizen did. We have such little time and information, which is why I must work hard to reinforce the Soul Society's manpower." The Head-Captain declared. "Fortunately, Kisuke Urahara, Yoruichi Shihōin, Tessai Tsukabishi, Shinji Hirako and his allies have all been exonerated for the crimes they were falsely accused of. At the moment, I have offered Shinji Hirako and several of his allies a chance to be reinstated to their former positions in the Soul Society."

Yen Sid nodded. "Then it seems we have much more to prepare for the inevitable darkness that awaits us. Regardless, we must press onward and take time to relish in the limited peace we've obtained, lest we lead ourselves to our own demise."

With nothing left to be said, Yen Sid waved his hand and a gate appeared in front of him. As he prepared to walk into the gate, he gave one last look to his old friend. "I recommend you continue looking into Ichigo Kurosaki's condition. I believe that his powers may not be truly gone from him."

Yamamoto did not reply as he saw Yen Sid entering the gate before it closed and vanished away. The Head-Captain remained standing for a moment, before closing his eyes and ordering, "Chōjirō, inform Kisuke Urahara that he is to research the Final Getsuga Tenshō to every detail."

The Head-Captain took his leave as his Lieutenant was revealed to have been hiding behind the door, with a look of uncertainty on his face.

In Hueco Mundo

"Hey, bring some more food over here!"

"These fruits tastes great!"

"You gotta try the hot spring!"

In the weeks that followed Aizen's defeat, word got around fast that the infamous leader of the Arrancar army had fallen. True to Ulquiorra's words, with no king to rule them, anarchy ensured throughout the Hollow world. However, that was only temporary, as with help of the surviving Espada (sans Grimmjow and Baraggan), Halbiel declared that she would now be assume mantle as the Queen of Hueco Mundo. She displayed the power of her Resurrección, the force of her spiritual pressure was powerful enough to quell the Hollows that tried to speak out against her.

In the aftermath that followed the battle with the Espadas, all the Privaron Espadas (aside from Gantenbainne) were killed, the Exequias were wiped out, and only a rough total of fifty lower ranked Arrancars remained. Over 500 rampaging Hollows were led back to Las Noches, where they and the other Arrancars were in for a big surprise. Halibel and the others showed them the oasis, one of the virtuous gifts that "a noble and selfless man" left for them. Nel even suggested they try the fruit the trees grew. Though hesitantly, they accepted and just like the remaining Espadas, they too were captivated by this new and delicious flavor. For the first time in what felt like a century, none of the Hollows that ate it felt ravenous anymore.

That was when Halibel made her declaration; they could live in Las Noches and live a more comfortable and joyful life free from persecution and hunger if they followed one order: never attack the World of the Living again. This led to an infighting within Las Noches before surprisingly, half the Hollows and Arrancars present agreed after a moments of hesitation. However, the ones that did not threatened to decimate this fortress, only to stop when they knew they would be killed in seconds by the Espada. Instead, they merely left Las Noches, though not before an Arrancar named Asguiaro Ebern looked at them in disgust and labeled as them traitors to their kind. This was clear that many Arrancar followed Aizen because he either allowed them to do what they wanted (provided they still followed his orders) or because they feared his powers.

Back to the present day, Halibel watched from her balcony as the Hollows and Arrancar either played or relaxed in the oasis, with Pesche, Dondochakka, and Bawabawa joining them in a game of Eternal Tag.

"It's quite a joyful sight, is it not?" Halibel turned to see Nel, Gantenbainne, and Ashido walking over to her.

Halibel nodded before turning over to Ashido. "I trust your stay was enjoyable?"

Ashido shrugged. "Aside from the awkward stay with the Hollows and the rough housing, everything was alright. My report to the Head-Captain should suffice."

"We're so happy you took the time to visit." Nel cheerfully said.

"Well I am now the Soul Society Emissary, it's my job." Ashido said.

In the weeks that followed the war's end, Halibel and the Head-Captain met to establish a sort of peace relations between her new kingdom and the Soul Society. She had asked if their leaders would consent to this, the Head-Captain revealed it was their decision. He explained that they lost a lot of manpower due to Aizen's defection and had gone over the report of how well the Arrancars that defected fought well with the Soul Reapers, Keyblade Wielders, and Vizards. In the event of another threat that would happen, they decreed that it would be a benefit to have the Arrancars as allies. As a result, Ashido was declared as the Soul Society's emissary to establish relations with them, since he spent the longest time in the Hollow world and is more familiar with the environment.

Gantenbainne snorted. "Still, wish we could've gone to that party all of you went. Shame I was stuck on patrol duty."

Ashido chuckled, "All you did was train the entire time."

"Hey, you joined in to. If you ask me, I think you're shirking off your duties." The former Privaron Espada retorted, causing the two to share a mutual laugh. Halibel and Nel smiled at the friendship the two seemed to have forged during the time they worked as a team.

"Still, kind of wish I saw that kid off. Never got to thank him for everything he did." Gantenbainne said, frowning.

The Soul Reaper nodded. "I feel the same. But it doesn't matter, though. I'm sure we'll see him again."

However, Halibel and Nel expressions fell as they became slightly despondent. When they returned from the beach party, Gantenbainne, Ashido, and the Arrancar that allied with them had asked how Sora was. Unfortunately, Halibel could not bring herself to tell them the whole truth and merely said that Sora was somewhere safe.

"Anyways, I better go keep an eye on our guests. Don't won't them messing up the oasis." Gantenbainne said as he took his leave.

"And I better return to the Soul Society and give my report." Ashido said before turning to Halibel. "Queen Halibel, if you may." Halibel nodded and opened a Garganta for him to enter. Ashido stepped in and took his leave with Nel waving goodbye right when the Garganta closed.

Once they were alone, the two females heard barking before they turned to see Apacci, Mila Rose, and Sung-Sun walking towards them with Kukkapūro following them.

"Arf, Arf!" The dog Arrancar barked joyfully before sitting down, wagging his tail.

Nel giggled at the hound's actions. "It seems that Kukkapūro has grown fond of you three."

Apacci snorted in annoyance. "The mutt just can't stop following us around." In the weeks after the Las Noches battle, the girls found Kukkapūro among the other creature Hollows joyfully playing among their new environment. The oasis did help distract him from noticing Mayuri and Nemu taking Yammy's corpse back to the Soul Society. Of course, the dog Arrancar was saddened that his master was dead so Apacci, Mila Rose, and Sung-Sun decided to make a false grave with Yammy's Zanpakutō as the grave mark. This act of kindness won over the dog's heart and began following the three girls from then on.

"Regardless, his company is very enjoyable." Sung-Sun added. "I don't know why Yammy never bothered to appreciate his companion."

"All Yammy cared for was beating people to a pulp." Mila Rose scuffed before looking back at her queen. "Master Halibel, we've finished surveying the area. There was no sign of Baraggan or his Fracciónes."

Nel looked at her friend was concern. "He most likely went into hiding after the war. Do you truly believe he would try to take Las Noches by force?"

"He will." She replied, having known the old king's nature. "Baraggan always believed himself to be a god and stood above all others. Now that Aizen is gone, he will most surely attempt to reclaim what he had lost."

"Starrk, Lilynette, and Ulquiorra sure picked a hell of a time to go on their little travelling journey in the Human world." Apacci complained.

Mila Rose looked at Nel, "We also heard reports from the Forest of Menos. Over a hundred Hollows were suddenly found dead. Never even got a chance to fight back."

Nel frowned as she realized what this meant. "You believe it's Grimmjow?"

"It's the likeliest outcome." Sung-Sun replied. "He just hasn't been the same ever since Ichigo lost all of his powers."

Halibel understood what Sung-Sun meant before looking over at her predecessor. "How should we handle Grimmjow?"

Nel pondered this for a second, before saying, "If you'll let me, I will handle Grimmjow myself."

The Queen of Hueco Mundo nodded before glancing at her Fracciónes. "Thank you for your report. Now, return to your posts. When Baraggan makes his move, we will be ready to defend this sacred land that Sora made for us."

Sora. Hearing his name brought a sense of both happiness and sorrow for all the Arrancars that were gathered. They couldn't help but imagine the spiky-haired boy smiling, missing him greatly since he left.

"He was one heck of a guy." Apacci muttered. "Wish he was still around."

"I always found it odd how he can go from a carefree person to a powerful fighter." Mila Rose stated. "He really was an interesting one."

"He gave us so much more than Aizen ever did." Sung-Sun said, sorrowfully.

However, Nel gave them a small smile. "It's true. But I know that Sora would not want us to remain sad forever. If he were here, he'd encourage us to continue moving forward and remain positive no matter how dire the situation was."

Halibel nodded as a smile also forged from underneath her mask. "That he would. For now, we must stay strong and believe with all our hearts that Sora will one day return to us. And when he does, we will welcome him with open arms."

The girls nodded with smiles as they too began to believe that Sora will one day return to them. With all said, they began walking away with Kukkapūro following them, barking with joy. Nel also began to make her leave, though not before looking at her queen one last time with a reassuring smile before departing. Once she was alone, Halibel took the time to look over at the Oasis once more, seeing all the residents having the time of their lives.

"All this time I felt that I never gave anything to anyone before. That…all I did was meddle in things that weren't my business."

Halibel gasped as she suddenly heard Sora's voice in her head. She remembered that those were one of Sora's final words before he vanished. Her eyes softened as she thought about the boy that she valued highly.

"You're wrong Sora. You have given us more than we could have ever hoped for. More than we deserved in this bleak, hollow world of ours." Halibel thought as she began to walk away, her eyes narrowing with determination. "I swear to you, that I will never forget what you have sacrificed for us and continue to guide the residents into a peaceful future, that was made possible because of you."

She smiled softly as she mentally said, "I believe you will return to us one day. And as you have said once, I will believe in you…with all my heart."

"UNACCEPTABLE!"

A loud, gruff, voice roared from within the mountainous caverns of Hueco Mundo, located far away from Las Noches and the Forest of Menos. Inside the caverns, Baraggan's six Fracciónes kneeled as while gulping at their king's rage.

Following the events of the post-battle, they had taken their leave and resettle within many of the Hollow caves far from Las Noches. When their king regained consciousness, he went into a furious rant, declaring that the only reason he did not kill them was because of their battle power. For the past several weeks, he has sent them to spy on the activities of Las Noches and learn what they could. He had become outraged from what he had heard.

"THIS IS BLASHPHAMY!" Baraggan roared, smashing a stalagmite with his fist. "Allying with the Soul Society! Declaring peace! As if they had no sense of pride or honor! It is clear that Halibel and her followers have forsaken their own heritage!"

Findorr nodded as he continued making his report. "We have also learned that Coyote Starrk and Ulquiorra Cifer are no longer in Las Noches."

Vega smirked as he pounded his fist. "Without their aces, Halibel has left herself practically defenseless."

"You must remember that Nelliel is with her. And her power greatly exceeds that of Halibel's." Poww warned, causing Vega to scoff.

Charlotte chuckled as he waved his hair. "While I admit that Halibel and Nelliel are powerful individuals, their powers are still inferior to our true king."

"I say we lay siege to Las Noches and claim back your kingdom, your majesty!" Redder proudly proclaimed.

Though Baraggan considered it, he shook his head in refusal, which surprised. "If there is one thing that I learned from that bastard is that in order to topple my own enemies I'll need to gather an army. The highest elite of Hollows and Arrancars."

"There were many Hollows and Arrancars that left Las Noches when they declined Halibel's proposal." Findorr revealed. "It seemed they were not too pleased with their alliance with the Soul Society."

This was pleasant news to the former king. "Then go! Find me those who are worthy to join my army! Once our numbers have increased to that of a hundred legions, Halibel will burn and Las Noches will be ours!"

"Loud and clear, your majesty!" His Fracciónes proudly declared before they took off separate, intent on fulfilling their king's demands. Once they had left, Baraggan sat down on a rock formation that served as his own makeshift throne. As of now, he had begun making plans to dethrone Halibel and this was only the beginning.

"Be grateful that you were captured Aizen. Otherwise I would have made you experience a hell even greater than death." Baraggan inwardly voiced. "And Halibel, enjoy your tranquil peace while it lasts. I don't care how long it takes; I plan to reclaim my throne no matter the cost. You will die an agonizing death while I reclaim everything that was taken from me. It does not matter who stands in my way! No one will ever smite me down! Because…I AM A GOD!"

However, unknown to Baraggan, there were three people that had successfully infiltrated his caverns and watch the scene unfold. None of their faces could be distinguished, but they all wore white clothing that consisted of robes, trousers, shoes, and mantles.

The three unidentified men looked at each other, nodding, before discreetly slipping away into the shadows.

In the World of the Living

Ten miles past Karakura Town, two gray cloaked individual walked through a forest area as they began making their way out. Upon closer inspection, the two individuals were none other than Starrk and Lilynette. Once they and Ulquiorra had left Hueco Mundo, they visited Kisuke Urahara and requested three Gigais made for their travels. When they had been attained, they broke off from Ulquiorra and went their separate ways.

"Gotta say, these Gigais are a perfect match." Lilynette commented as she looked at herself. The remains of her Hollow mask was gone, and she wore a white eyepatch over her left eye. Underneath her gray cloak was a white blouse, blue jeans, and shoes. She looked over at her counterpart and asked, "So…you have any idea where we're going?"

Starrk paused for a moment before saying, "Anywhere. We can go anywhere. We can do anything."

"Meaning you have no idea where?" She said bluntly. Starrk sighed and rubbed his head. "Well I've never been much of a nomad. Besides, the World of the Living has a lot more to offer than Hueco Mundo does right now."

Lilynette could not argue with that. However, there was one more thing she had to say, "Not that I'm complaining, but why are we traveling again. Most of the time, you'd rather sleep than even take a single step."

"Because…" The former Espada paused slightly as he reflected on what Ulquiorra had said during the beach party. "…I want to see how the world looks through my own eyes. The world that Sora saw and what he fought to protect." He looked at his counterpart. "I'm sure you feel the same way."

The young Arrancar silently gasped before turning away. He wasn't wrong as she also felt like travelling as well. But what bothered her was Sora's name. Despite the days that past, his disappearance still hurt.

"I miss him." Lilynette solemnly said. Starrk empathized with her emotions as he felt the same way. Sora was someone who impacted the lives of everyone he meets. It made sense that they would feel this way.

Starrk gently patted Lilynette's back, getting her attention. "I know. I miss him to. But…if I know Sora, he wouldn't want us getting sad for his sake. All we can do now is just keep moving forward. We still have the strength in our feet to keep walking. And who knows…" a small smile formed on his face. "That kid has pulled through whenever he was in a jam. I'm sure he'll make it out of this. One of these days."

Hearing those words caused Lilynette to smile hopefully. "Yeah, he will." She nodded as she wiped a tear from her eye. "We will meet again. And then, he can tell me new stories of what's been happening to him. And knowing Sora, he always leads an adventurous life."

The former Espada nodded as he looked onward to the path that would take them to the end of the forest, where the road to their new life will begin. However, as they continued making their way through the woods, Starrk looked up at the sky and watched as a flock of birds flew right above them. Starrk could not help but feel content for the peaceful scenery that he could never experience when he was working for Aizen.

As he continued looking at the sky, Starrk's thoughts drifted to Sora once more. "Sora, I remember what you once said to me. About how when we're together, you know what it's like to have a brother and sister. When I think about it…I guess I felt the same way. As we spent time together, I couldn't help but reflect on those feelings. We were lost. Born in a world full of hate and emptiness. I always believed that Hollows like us were meant to vanish into darkness, forgotten by everyone. But the more time we spent, the more you began to feel the loneliness we felt. And I thought, if you could feel what we felt, can the same be said about us."

"You never abandoned us no matter what. And you never gave up on us. The more I tried to push you away, the closer you got. It wouldn't have surprised me if you said you hated us, but you didn't. Instead, you kept calling us your friends. Now, the three of us who fought against one another, are able to share our feelings through our hearts. After seeing that sunset, I can't help but feel that even though we feel small, we're part of something much bigger. Like how our hearts are connected through our bonds, every world is connected by one great big sky."

Lilynette looked up at her older counterpart, who was still gazing up at the sky. The young Arrancar fumed in annoyance before shouting, "Hey Starrk! Will you stop daydreaming already!?"

Rather than look agitated at her screaming, Starrk chuckled as he patted her head. This gesture was starting to freak Lilynette out a little.

"Starrk…" She asked in a soft tone. "…are you feeling alright?"

The former Espada shifted his gaze to the road as he continued walking forward. "Never felt better."

Lilynette looked confused for a moment before sighing as she ran off to keep up with Starrk. As she did, she felt the wind blow past her ears and looked to see the leaves flying high in the air, scattering across the wind. For some reason, she felt at ease as if she sensed a familiar presence from it; one that was filled with warmth and hope.

"Sora." Lilynette thought happily. "You're with us, aren't yah." Knowing that Sora was still connected to her heart, she felt happy that there will always be a part of him with her and Starrk. Lilynette smiled brightly before walking off with Starrk, thankful for their new lease on life.

Elsewhere, standing on top one of the skyscrapers of Karakura Town was Ulquiorra Cifer. Like Starrk and Lilynette, he had donned his own Gigai to begin his travels across the World of the Living. The only difference in his appearance was that his Hollow Mask was gone along with the green linings on his face. He wore a long-grey coat, black trousers, and brown shoes.

The former Espada looked across the city as he watched the people down their go about their daily lives, completely oblivious to the great battle that took place nearly two weeks ago. It was kind of surreal that he was setting foot in the town that he once conspired with Aizen to destroy. Regardless, thanks to the Gigai, he could blend in with the Humans inconspicuously while continuing with the secret mission that he was assigned.

Yes. Earlier, he had been confronted by the sorcerer Yen Sid to divulge any crucial information that Aizen had kept hidden over the years. Because of Aizen's defeat and the Arrancar Army decimated, Ulquiorra complied with his request and informed him of everything he knew. Unknown to the other Espadas, there was another reason Aizen was gathering an army of powerful Arrancars and it was not just to combat the Soul Reapers. Unfortunately, that plan was now moot since the army was now in defunct due to the recent war.

With nothing more for him to do, Ulquiorra agreed to become an informant for the sorcerer Yen Sid and the Head-Captain. While they worked on managing the repercussions of the war, he was tasked with gathering information on this group within the two-year interval they were given. He may not have been a spy, but he has great stealth skills that could allow him to infiltrate that group. Of course the real issue was finding their location or any members, who are no doubt stationed somewhere in the World of the Living.

Ulquiorra took out a black Gummiphone (a communication device that could allow him to communicate across worlds) and checked the time before pocketing it away.

"Time to leave." He said before taking a final glance at the direction, which was the high school the Ichigo and his friends attend.

Sora, Ichigo Kurosaki, and Orihime Inoue. Three humans that felt a lasting impression on him. Perhaps…there will come a time when he will see them again. But now was not the time.

With a small chuckle, he looked away before jumping down from the building, departing to parts unknown.

In Disney Castle

In the gardens of Disney Castle, Donald and Daisy were taking one of their afternoon strolls. The Disney trio returned to their world the day after the party ended, with not much to say other than Sora had gone away. While the queen and others were worried about him, Mickey assured them that there was nothing to worry and the Sora would be fine. Of course, he said that in the passing weeks, they will set off to explore the worlds that Sora had visited in the past to find clues to his whereabouts.

In the meantime, the king told Donald and Goofy to relax and enjoy their free time while they prepare for the time when they would set off. Goofy resumed his duties as captain of the guards while Donald finally gave Daisy the date he promised.

"Tee Hee! I had a lot of fun last night Donald." The female duck said as she walked alongside him. Her expression changed to that of delight as stars sparkled on her eyes. "Where are we going tomorrow? We could go on a picnic?" She gleefully suggested. "I'll make the best picnic lunch!"

"That sounds nice…" Donald said nervously. He loved his girlfriend and all, but often felt uncomfortable by her forwardness. He decided to change the subject to something else. "…but how about we relax at home? I want to tell you all about my adventures…"

"YOUR ADVENTURES!" Daisy snapped. "IS SORA THAT UNFORGETTABLE TO YOU!? She roared as she began strangling Donald, the poor duck choking in pain. Not far from them, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, and Dale watched the duck mage's misfortune.

"He's got it rough." Dale said, his brother nodding. "Sora's gonna need his own security guards." Chip stated.

"Ah-ha-ha-ha-Hyuck!" Goofy laughed. "Things sure aren't ever gonna change round here."

"Arf, Arf." Pluto joyfully backed as he wagged his tail before giving chase to a butterfly around the garden.

Meanwhile, from the balcony, Mickey and Minnie watched the scene as well. The queen giggled in amusement at her friend's antics.

"Oh Daisy." The queen said as she turned to her husband. "But I think it would be nice for us to go somewhere to relax too. You finally get to take some time for yourself."

Mickey nodded. "That would be nice. But first, I should try and get in contact with Master Yen Sid and see how things went in the Soul Society."

"That's right. You said he went back there." Minnie recalled the king informing her about that. She grew curious as she asked, "Do you think it has something to do with Sora?"

The king shook his head, not sure himself. "I don't really know. I know it was for something important. But I can't help but feel that dark times might be coming our way. Maybe even more dangerous than with Master Xehanort or Aizen."

This made Queen Minnie feel very uneasy. She knows that her king's hunches are never misplaced, like how he sensed the immense amount of darkness plaguing the worlds nearly two years ago. And now an even greater darkness was looming. One that might be too much for the Guardians of Light to handle themselves.

"Do you think everything will be alright?" asked Minnie. Mickey held her hand and looked at her with a reassuring smile. "It's not like this is the first time we've been put into situations like this. This new darkness might be an unknown, but so were our other enemies. As long as our hearts remain connected, then we will prevail. We just have to believe."

Hearing her husband's words of encourage made the queen feel much at ease. She held Mickey's hand as she smiled and nodded. "I know your right, Mickey."

Mickey nodded as they looked up at the sky, enjoying each other's presence.

In Twilight Town

"Here ye go Merlin. One piping hot tea with a side of scones."

"Oh why thank you Mr. Scrooge."

Sitting on one of the tables outside the Bistro was an elderly man with pale skin, large nose, and black eyes with circular glasses wore over. He has short, white hair on the sides and back of his head, bushy eyebrows, a walrus mustache, and a long, floor-length beard. His attire was that of a typical wizard, complete with a sky-blue cloak that stops just above his ankles and large, hanging sleeves. He wears pointed slippers and a tall, floppy, conical hat. This man is known as Merlin, a renowned wizard and member of the Radiant Garden Reconstruction Committee.

Standing in front of his table was an anthropomorphic duck with white plumage, light blue eyes, yellow-orange feet, and a bill of the same color. He has a thick, half-ring of ruffled feathers going around the back of his head. His attire was that of a wealthy person with a blue jacket with a folded-down, red collar, red cuffs, and a yellow button near the neck. He keeps the jacket shut with a red belt. A black top hat with a red band near the brim sits on his head, and he wears pince-nez glasses. He also wears red spats on his feet. On his hand was a brown cane with a gold tip. He is Scrooge McDuck, Donald's wealthy uncle and owner of the Bistro.

"You sure love your tea Mr. Merlin."

"I say these scones are even better."

Sitting across from Merlin were three anthropomorphic ducks with yellow-orange beaks, legs, webbed feet, four-fingered hands, white plumage, thin, grey "eyebrows", and light blue eyes. They all wore long-sleeved turtleneck shirts and baseball caps. However, the first duck wore a red clothing, the second wore blue, and the third wore green. These three are Huey, Dewey, and Louie, Donald's nephew's and currently run a Gummi shop in Twilight Town.

"We'd like another platter of scones Unca Scrooge. To-go please." Huey said as his brothers continued eating.

"How about one of those…Macaroons, was it?" Dewey inquired as he ate said desert.

Scrooge chuckled in delight of his three grandnephew's appetite. "Well I say ye boys are looking hale and hearty. I hope that Gummi shop business is serving ye well."

"Oh you betcha." Louie replied. "We made a lot of munny selling all those Gummi pieces Cid gave us. Soon we'll have enough to go on our own adventure."

"Well I do seem your entrepreneurship has rubbed off on your nephews." Merlin said to Scrooge as he waved his wand to bring his teaspoon to life.

"Heh, heh, it's no surprise really. I've spent me entire life taking on great financial challenges. The mark of a good businessman is knowing what appeases your costumers." Scrooge said with pride. Merlin nodded in agreement, unaware that his teaspoon was putting in more scoops of sugar than he required.

"Yep. I guess that's how we were able to sell more Gummi pieces to Sora than anyone else." Huey recalled. "He really needed them all."

"Unca Donald sure was mad about our 'No family discounts' policy." Louie said, remembering how peeved their hot-tempered uncle was.

"He'll get over it." Dewey assured. "Unca Scrooge always said to treat everyone like a customer, even family."

"It's nothing personal. Merely business." Scrooge stated. "Though I do wonder how the young lad has been doing."

"Yeah. I heard some of Sora's friends borrowed Little Chef for some kind of party." Dewey said. "Wish we could've gone."

"Hey Mr. Merlin, do you know anything about where Sora's been?" Louie asked.

The old wizard hummed in thought. "Unfortunately, I've been spending my free time indulging myself in this world's delights. But I assure you that once I've returned to Radiant Garden, I will ask Leon or Ansem the Wise if either of them know of what has been transpiring."

"Hayner, Pence, and Olette may know some other things about Sora too." Huey pointed out. "We should also ask them next time we see them."

"Aye. And I do believe I also seen some friends of Sora heading to the old mansion." Scrooge said.

Merlin nodded and said, "Well, I'll leave that to you. Whatever the case, I shall return to Radiant Garden and-MY GOODNESS!" His eyes went wide when he finally noticed the mountain of sugar where his teacup use to be. "When!? BLAST IT ALL, WHEN!?"

The four ducks laughed at Merlin's comedic misfortune. It seemed that some things never change for most people.

"Have some of this!" Lea shouted as he swung his Flame Liberator Keyblade at Roxas, who knocked it back with Oathkeeper before striking with his Oblivion Keyblade.

Outside the old mansion of Twilight Town were Roxas and Lea, engaging in a sparring session right next to the gate. In the past two weeks since returning from the beach party, they've decided to train themselves once in mastering their Keyblades. While the others were researching ways to bring Sora back, they decided to become stronger so they can be ready for when that time comes.

"Nice try." He retorted before knocking Lea to the ground. The red-haired man rolled across the floor as his Keyblade fell in front of him. Before he could reach it, Roxas jabbed it in place with Oblivion while having his Oathkeeper pointed at him. Roxas smirked as he said, "Looks like I win again."

Lea grunted as he sat himself up. "Yeah, yeah. Best call it 2 out of 5."

Roxas chuckled as he helped Lea up. "Maybe you'd like to call it a draw, instead."

"From what I've seen, all he drew was an L for 'loser', 'lamentable', 'lack-luster'." They turned to see Isa walking over to them with an amused smirk on his face. This caused his best friend to groan in annoyance.

"C'mon Isa! This is the part where you're supposed to cheer me up or something?!" He complained. "Say something like, 'you're just having a bad day' or 'That's what you get for pulling your punches' or something like that."

"Basically, you wanted me to lie." Isa said. Lea moaned as he looked back at Roxas. "Even when we were kids, this is what I had to put up with all the time. Hope you don't have friends like these."

"Nope. I deal with you every day." Roxas jabbed.

"HEY!" Isa and Roxas shared a laugh together with Lea soon joining in. Though they poke fun at him, he knows that they both genuinely care about him. It was nice to have his former best friend and his new best friend in his life once again. While the three friends shared their laughter, Xion and Naminé looked at the three from the window of the old mansion, the very room they first met.

"It's great to see that they're friends again." Xion stated as she and Naminé smiled at their moment.

Naminé nodded in agreement. "I'm happy for them." She then looked away as she gazed across the white room. It looked the same as when she had left it. Seeing this room filled her with a sense of nostalgia, from the days she spent in this room while repairing Sora's memories, to meeting Xion, and meeting Roxas. Xion looked at the blonde girl and knew what she was thinking about.

"I feel the same way." She began, getting the blonde's attention. "This is the room where we first met. The place where I learned everything about myself…and where I needed to be."

Naminé nodded and said, "We may have endured so much hardships in the past. But I'm glad I went through all of them. Because if I hadn't, I wouldn't have the friends that I have today."

"I guess that's true." Xion agreed. "It must be one of those silver linings. Despite our own struggles, it helped make us who we are."

The two girls watched as Roxas and Isa took turns sparring, with Lea sitting on the sidelines. "Everyone is getting stronger." Naminé commented.

Xion nodded. "We're all doing our part so that when the time comes, we can help bring Sora back to us. The others are probably doing the same thing."

The black-haired girl looked to see a light frown on Naminé's face, feeling troubled. "Are you okay, Naminé?" She asked, worried.

"I'm fine." She replied, but said, "It's just, I can't help but feel that I can't do anything to help."

"What do you mean?"

"Everyone has something that makes them very useful." Naminé stated. "You and the others have the Keyblade that allows you to fight. But me," She sighed. "I can't do anything like you guys can. Didn't you see? During the battle in Hueco Mundo, all I did was hide behind a rock while you and everyone else risked your lives to defeat the Hollows."

Xion shook her head. "That's not true. I heard from Kairi that it was thanks to your powers that they were able to bring Ichigo back to his senses." Kairi did not tell her the full story, but she merely stated that Ichigo's mind was on the brink of destruction before Naminé used her powers to stop the entity controlling him.

"And that's all I really did." Naminé sighed deeply. She then turned to her note pad which had a drawing of Kairi. "I remember how Kairi felt when she began her training as a Keyblade Wielder. She said she wanted to do more than simply waiting for Sora and Riku to come home. Kairi wanted to become strong so she could fight alongside them. And now…"

Naminé turned to Xion with determination burning in her eyes. "…I want to do the same. I've been thinking about this ever since we came back from Hueco Mundo. And with Sora gone…I want to do my part and rescue him alongside all of you."

The black-haired girl's eyes widened as she deduced what the former Nobody had in mind. "You mean you…"

Naminé nodded. "I'm planning to ask Master Yen Sid, but I thought I should let all of you know first." She looked at Xion with a smile as she asked, "Can you help me…to become a Keyblade Wielder?"

This certainly was a big decision that Naminé had decided for herself. However, Xion knew that gaining a Keyblade was not an easy feat and would be a difficult path to take. But she knew one thing… Naminé's strong heart was one of the makings of a Keyblade Wielder. The question is…would it be enough?

"HEY!" The two girls looked out the window to see Roxas waving up towards them. Aside, from Lea and Isa, they noticed that Hayner, Pence, and Olette had just arrived at the Old Mansion.

"Sorry we're late. Classes ran long today." Hayner said.

"It's a good thing todays the weekend." Olette said. "Now we can all hangout."

Pence nodded and raised a lunch box up. "And we all brought lunch to."

"Thanks guys." Roxas said before looking back up the window. "C'mon girls. Let's have some lunch."

"We'll be right down." Xion called back as she turned to Naminé. "We better get going." She nodded and the two began making their way out. However, Xion had one more thing to say.

"One more thing. I'm not really sure how someone gains a Keyblade." She explained. "But I believe…if you follow your heart like we do, then I think…no, I know that you might be worthy of a Keyblade one day."

"You really think so?" Naminé asked, which she nodded. "Kairi and Lea were able to gain one. And if they could do it, then I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. I promise to help you in any way that I can."

Naminé felt grateful at Xion's kind gesture and felt more hopeful of her chances to gain a Keyblade. If all went well, then she would be able to fight alongside her friends in no time.

"Thank you Xion." She said. With that, the two girls made their way out of the white room to join up with the rest of their friends.

In the Land of Departure

It was nighttime in the Land of Departure and Ven was currently laying down on the grass in the area where he and his friends trained together. In the weeks following the beach party, the Wayfinder Trio retreated to their world to continue their training. Like Roxas and his friends, they were also preparing for the day when Sora would return to them. After a hard day of training, Ven decided to relax by gazing into the night sky.

"Wow!" Ven said as he saw a shooting star pass by. Looking at the shooting stars always helped to put him at ease. "This is nice." He said before letting out a yawn. With the moon shining down and the softness of the grass, Ven was starting to feel drowsy and would have fallen asleep until…

"If you want to sleep, then do it in your bed." Ven gasped as he saw Aqua looking down on him from above.

"AAAAAAHHHHHH!" He jolted up, Aqua's presence catching him by surprise. Ven sat himself up as Aqua giggled, causing him to groan in annoyance. "Give me a break, Aqua."

"Sorry, but if you sleep out here then you'll catch a cold." Aqua said. Ven sighed but smiled, nonetheless. Aqua walked over and sat down alongside her friend as the two continued gazing at the stars.

"This brings back memories." Ven commented, getting Aqua's attention. "Remember, years ago on a night like this? I asked what the stars were and where the light comes from."

Aqua nodded, as she too began to remember. "That's right. Then Terra came and said that every star is a world and the light is their hearts."

"Yeah." Ven then remembered another thing that happened that night. "I remember that Terra compared the light to me, but he wouldn't tell me why. But…I think I get it now." Aqua looked at him, curious at what he learned. "The light is the heart of the world. And every world is connected by one great sky, just like us. We're all connected. You've become a part of my heart…and I became a part of yours and Terra's. I was the light for you two."

"Ven." Aqua smiled sincerely.

"I'm glad you learned somethings." The two turned to see Terra walking over to them. Terra stopped as he approached Ven with a smirk. "I was starting to think that all the sleeping you did caused you to fall behind."

"Well I didn't." Ven said. "Even when I was asleep, I still learned a lot of things from Sora. And I've gotten stronger."

"That's true." Terra said, before smirking. "But you still have a long way to go before you can become a Keyblade Master."

"Hey, you're not a master either." A miffed Ven countered. Aqua chuckled, "He has a point Terra."

Terra huffed in amusement. "Fair enough, Master Aqua." He then walked beside Ven and sat next to him. The Wayfinder Trio gazed up at the sky for what seemed like forever. It was nostalgic as the last time they were like this was on the night before the Mark of Mastery Exam…where Xehanort's plan would change their lives forever.

"Despite all we've been through," the blonde boy voiced his thoughts. "I'm glad it happened."

"What do you mean?" Aqua asked. Terra also wondering the same thing.

"I mean…a lot of crazy things happened, some of it that was hard for all of us. But it was through those experiences that we got to meet so many great people and connect with others." Ven explained. "I never want to forget the feeling of becoming part of someone's hearts. I'm sure Sora felt the same…before he vanished."

While saddened at the memory of Sora's disappearance, Aqua and Terra couldn't help but smile and agree with what Ven said.

"That does sound a lot like Sora." Aqua stated, before reminiscing. "He really is an interesting person. I never thought that little boy I met on the island would grow into such a powerful Keyblade Wielder."

"I have to agree with you on that." The brown-haired man said. "I never had the chance to meet him when I first came to the Destiny Island. But along with Riku, I also sensed a much stronger light inside of him."

"And he came through for us more than I could count." Ven added, reflecting on the time he nearly lost his heart the first time. "When my heart was nearly destroyed, I could feel that I was succumbing to the darkness. But Sora's light, it welcomed me and gave me something that I needed the most; a second chance."

"A second chance." Aqua repeated as she gazed up at the nightly sky. "I guess it was the same for me in a way." Ven and Terra looked at her as she explained. "At the time, when the darkness had corrupted me, I could hear Riku and Mickey trying to reach out to me. But the darkness was too great. All the despair and hatred clouded my own thoughts, made it nearly impossible for their words to reach me."

A smile then formed on Aqua's face as she said, "Then Sora came and cut through the darkness surrounding me. The way he reached out for me filled me with renewed hope. Hope that I would be freed from the dark world. And he did."

"He has been there for all of us. More than he realizes." Terra stated. "After all, it was thanks to Sora that my heart was finally free from Xehanort's control. Like I said, I owe Sora a great debt of gratitude that I hope I was able to repay."

Terra then heard Ven let out a chuckle. "C'mon Terra. Sora didn't save you because he wanted you to owe him anything. He did it because he considers you a friend and didn't want to see you suffer any longer."

"And besides," the blue-haired woman began. "I don't think Sora has ever needed a reason for helping people other than wanting to."

The brown-haired Keyblade Wielder chuckled as he knew his friends were right. "Fair enough." Terra said as he looked at the sky. After several minutes, Terra got up and said, "We better get some rest. Tomorrow, we have another long day of training."

Aqua nodded. "Everyone is doing the same thing. It is important that we don't fall far behind from the others."

"Yeah." Ven said determinedly. "We gotta be at the top of our game when the time comes to search for Sora. It shouldn't be too hard since we have four Keyblade Masters."

"You mean three." Terra corrected, looking a little solemn. Ven and Aqua noticed this as well. "The point of my Mark of Mastery was for me to control my darkness. But then Xehanort not only manipulated me but took control of my body and exploited the darkness against me." He said, reminiscing of the time Xehanort had led him astray, making him believe that darkness was the only path to take.

Even though Xehanort was defeated and gone, Terra still felt his shadow lingering over him. Much like how Riku once had to deal with Ansem, Seeker of Darkness. Of course, despite the trouble Riku had to endure, he was able to conquer his own darkness and develop a resistance to it. It made him wonder if he could do the same with his own inner darkness.

"I still have a lot to deal with. Which is why I will work hard and become stronger than I already am." Terra said with fierce determination. "Only when I've conquered my own darkness, will I finally be worthy of the title Keyblade Master."

Hearing their friend's newfound conviction relieved both Ven and Aqua. Even though Terra still held regrets from the past, he managed to find the strength to overcome them and strive to move forward. They were both proud of him.

Aqua walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Don't think that you'll have to do this alone Terra."

Ven nodded as he walked over to his friends as well. "We're all here to help you out. Whatever comes our way, let's make sure we face it head on, together."

Terra smiled at his two friend's consideration for him, feeling grateful that they still care for him after all this time. He nodded in agreement. "Yeah. Thanks guys."

The Wayfinder Trio began walking back towards the main building, unaware that Chirithy had been watching them from the roof of their building.

"You really have found yourself some great friends Ventus." Chirithy said. Though it had no facial expression, an aura of happiness and bliss radiated from it. However, Chirithy's expression then turned serious. "However, you need to be ready than you've ever been. I can't help but feel a great darkness that will soon encompass the world."

It was an ominous feeling Chirithy had…one that it would soon be right about.

In the Destiny Islands

"Excuse me! I'll have another one, please!"

In the main island of the Destiny Islands was a small café known as Destiny's Delights. It was one of the most famous cafés across the town, which was usually frequent to most teenagers and young adults, mainly couples. Sitting at one of the tables were four young teens that were none other than Tidus, Wakka, Selphie, and Lulu: friends of Sora, Riku, and Kairi.

"Tidus, that was the second sandwich you just had already." Selphie scolded. "If you eat too much, you'll gain weight."

"Hey, I gotta build up my stamina before I challenge Wakka to another game of Blitz Ball." The blonde countered, looking at said friend. "Ready to play another game after this?"

Wakka huffed in humor. "Play is for kids. This is serious, ya!"

Lulu just shook her head in annoyance. "Boys."

"I know right." Selphie agreed. "Why do they always have to be so macho about everything."

The girls then heard laughing coming from behind them. They turned to see Sora's mom standing by with a tray of food for their table. She currently works as a waitress at the Destiny's Delight café.

"Now don't let it bother you girls." She said. "Look at it this way; you two will look more elegant and sophisticated when people compare you two to them."

Lulu and Selphie looked at the boys, the latter smirking. "You have a point there. Thanks Sora's mom."

"C'mon, ma'am! That's a bit harsh." Tidus moaned. The three women let out laughs as Tidus and Wakka moaned in defeat. Once the laughter settled, the mother looked at the group of four and decided to ask, "By the way, have any of you come in contact with Sora, lately?"

The four teens looked at one another, with Tidus answering. "Well, we did see him a couple of weeks ago. Right, guys?"

"That's right, brudda." Wakka nodded. "He, Riku, and Kairi just came back to the island outta the blue, ya. Those three had nothing new to say."

Selphie nodded, though she did look a bit annoyed. "Yeah. I mean, what gives! First, Sora and Riku bail on us for over a year. Then, Kairi goes away weeks after throwing that bottle in the ocean. And then…just when those three come back, they leave again before we could even throw a welcome back party for them."

After her friend finished her ranting, Lulu sighed. "I admit that…they have been very secretive with what they have been doing lately. However," The black-haired girl's expression became serious. "they are entitled to their own secrets. We have no business interfering with their affairs."

"Yeah, well what about his mom." Selphie pointed at said person. To her surprise, Sora's mom laughed in response. The four looked at her with puzzled expression.

"I must say, it's great that my Sora has so many wonderful friends who look out for him." Mom let out a blissful sigh as she continued, "When my husband died, it was the hardest time of my life. I wasn't sure how I could handle being a single mother. But Sora…he had so much strength. Losing his father was hard on him too, but he didn't want to spend his time feeling depressed. He said that his father always made people smile and happy, and he wanted to continue doing the same thing."

Selphie cheerfully laughed. "That does sound a lot like Sora."

Sora's mom nodded before saying. "Sora's always been headstrong and rash at times, but he makes good decisions and sees the good in people. I may not know what he has been doing, but I know he wouldn't do it unless it was important. Riku and Kairi are the same." She looked at the group with reassuring smiles. "I trust Sora. And you need to trust him to."

The four teens contemplated her words before smiling in gratitude. "She's right. Those three will tell us what's been happenin' to them when they're ready. Tell then, let's cool our heads, ya." Wakka said.

"I was thinking the same thing." Lulu agreed. "For now, let's be patient and wait for them to return when they're finished with what they're doing."

Tidus and Selphie sighed in defeat, as they knew they were outvoted. "I guess you have a point." The boy said.

The brown-haired girl smiled. "Yeah. But I still wished they could have stuck around a little longer though."

"Can't blame 'em though." Wakka said. "Those three must be havin' the time of their lives out there."

Lulu nodded in agreement. "The first person to leave the island was almost 80 years ago. Now Sora, Riku, and Kairi have achieved the same goal."

Selphie agreed. "I wonder what kind of places they've visited. Maybe we should ask them when they come back?"

Sora's mom giggled at their enthusiasm. "I'm sure wherever they are, they haven't forgotten any of us. They know that whenever they're done with their adventures out there, they will always have a home right here."

"Then we'll be here to throw them a welcome back party." Selphie stood up, cheering.

"I like that idea!" Tidus stood up, pumping his fist. "I'm so gonna beat Sora and Riku in another sword duel."

"Yeah…in a hundred years." Wakka snidely remarked, much to his annoyance. Lulu just sipped her drink, though she did have a small smile. Sora's mom left to continue her work, but her thoughts drifted to her son. Though she still believed he was fine, that didn't stop her from worrying about him.

"I wonder if you're doing okay out there, son." She thought before giggling. "I'm sure you are. After all, you're brave, determined, and hopeful. I swear you look more like your father every day. I will never stop worrying about you…but I do believe that you will come home, an even braver man then you were."

In Radiant Garden

In the City of Light, across from the castle was a small, odd-shaped, house that belonged to the wizard Merlin. It also severed as the main headquarters for the Radiant Garden Reconstruction Committee, a group dedicated to restoring Radiant Garden to its former glory and eradicating the Heartless from the city. Though their first goal in restoring the city was fulfilled, they still work hard to protect the city from the Heartless that appear every now and then.

Inside the house were three people. One of the girls has short, black hair and wears a black headband with white lining. She wears an unzipped, dark grey combat vest with a black strap dangling from the right pocket overtop a navy-blue tank top with white floral designs. On her right wrist was a white wristband and a grey, fingerless glove on her left arm. Her shorts are dark colored, with another black strap dangling from the left side with a black, over-the-knee socks with white stripes at the top underneath dark tan, knee-high, sneaker boots. Her name is Yuffie Kisaragi, a member of the RGRC and self-renowned ninja.

The second was a middle-aged male with blue eyes, blond hair, goggles worn over his forehead, and some stubble on his chin. He wears a white T-shirt with two buttons descending from the neck, with a rectangular charm necklace worn over. He also wears blue, baggy pants and a very wide, orange waistband with thin, vertical stripes on it, grey socks, and black shoes. He also has a toothpick on his mouth. His name is Cid Highwind, a member of the RGRC and a gifted pilot and engineer.

The third girl was Kairi. She was sitting on a table across from Yuffie, having tea while Cid continued to type away on the computer.

"I still can't believe you guys went ahead into that big battle without inviting us!" Yuffie complained as she sipped her tea

"And I can't you're still complaining about it." Cid grumbled in annoyance. The ninja shot him a nasty look while Kairi laughed.

"We're sorry if we made you feel left out." Kairi apologized with a smile. "But you and the others needed to protect Radiant Garden in case the Organization tried to attack."

Yuffie let out a frustrated sigh. "I get it, alright. Still, I wish I could've gotten in on some action. I know it was said to be a battle between seven and thirteen, but who said you guys had to play by that ancient rule mumbo jumbo."

Cid huffed in amusement. "And I thought you said you had a blast training Kairi and the red-haired punk."

"HEY!" Training Kairi and Lea wasn't boring or anything, but that's completely different." Yuffie argued while Kairi giggled.

"We all have places where we need to be." A masculine voice replied. The three turned to see Riku entering with two others behind him.

The first was a beautiful young woman with green eyes and long, braided, light brown tied with a red ribbon and curls on either side of her face. She wears a carmine pink and white top held up by a string that wraps around her neck, with a double layer flare skirt underneath. The top layer is light pink with a white stripe while the bottom layer is plain white, and brown boots. Her name is Aerith Gainsborough, a member of the RGRC.

The second was a man with blue eyes and short, brown hair with the bangs swept to the left side of his face. He wears a white shirt underneath a black, short-sleeved, jacket with a fur collar and silver neckleace with a lion-cross pendant. He bore red wings on the back and a red version of his pendant on each sleeve. He had black gloves and wore three brown belts on his left forearm, three buckles on his right thigh, black pants with a vertical zipper going down the side of each leg, two brown belts and two black ones around his hips. He also had black, zip-lined shoes. A distinguishing feature is a scar that runs diagonally across the bridge of his nose. His name is Squall Leonhart, though he is more commonly referred to as Leon. He is the leader of the RGRC.

"We have helped Sora in the past, but this was one battle he and his friends needed to fight themselves." Leon reasoned. "It wasn't just a battle to test their strength, but their ideologies and hearts."

"Besides, Sora always said that as long as our hearts are connected, then we are never far away." Aerith said with a warm smile. "So in a way, we were with him during his darkest hour. You know that, right Yuffie?"

The ninja girl scoffed before slightly smirking. "Fine, fine. I guess you guys are right. But I still wish he, Donald, and Goofy could've stopped by to say hi while they were traveling out there."

"Riku and the king already said that the kid was busy trying to find that waking up power or whatever." Cid explained. "Not like he had any time to drop in just to say hi."

"But I do agree with Yuffie." Aerith said, looking down slightly. "I wish we could have seen him. Before he…"

"I know." Leon finished, knowing what she was thinking. Yuffie looked down as well, crestfallen. Cid continue typing on the computer but let out a heavy sigh. Riku and Kairi looked at each other and understood their feelings. They had arrived last night at Radiant Garden, where they found the members of the RGRC meeting with Ansem the Wise and his apprentices. They happily greeted the pair and asked how their celebration went. They informed them of what had happened to Sora…a price he paid for misusing the Power of Waking. Naturally, they were saddened by the sudden loss of their dear friend, but the two friends assured them that everyone was doing everything they can to bring Sora back. In fact, they came to Radiant Garden for that very reason.

Riku cleared his throat to get their attention, giving them a determined look. "I know things seem hard, but we're doing everything we can to bring Sora back. I promise."

Speaking of which, Kairi turned to the silver-haired boy and asked, "Riku, did you just come back from the castle?"

The Keyblade Master nodded, "Yeah. Ansem the Wise and the others are setting things up. They'll let us know in a couple of minutes."

Yuffie looked confused at what they were talking about. "Um…am I missing something. What are you guys planning?"

Kairi looked at her friend before replying, "I believe that somewhere in my heart, there might be a key to bringing Sora back."

Riku nodded before explaining, "She plans to go to sleep while they analyze her heart, searching for the answers they need."

"Sleep huh." Cid huffed amusingly. "Where they gonna put her? In cold storage?"

"In one of the same sleeping capsules that Sora, Donald, and Goofy once slept in." Leon said. "That way, her body will be well preserved as she sleeps for as long as she needs."

Aerith looked at Kairi with concern. "Are you sure you want to go through this Kairi? We don't know how long it could take to find the answers we need. It could be months or more."

Kairi looked down slightly, knowing that Aerith was right of how long the process could take. It could take months, or even a year before they could make any breakthrough with finding Sora's location. However, her eyes narrowed as a fire of determination burned within them. This is what she wanted. If this could help bring Sora back, then she had to do this.

"I appreciate your concerns Aerith, but I'm still willing to try." The red-haired girl replied. "Besides, I have to do this. Sora has saved my life more times than I can count, even choosing to sacrifice his own heart in the process." Kairi reflected to that moment in Hollow Bastion almost two years ago. "I couldn't be able to call myself his friend if I wasn't willing to do the same. That's why I will do everything it takes to bring Sora back."

Riku looked proudly at his friend for her newfound determination. "'Follow the hearts, and you'll find the way.' Like Aqua always said, if you follow that connection, then it'll lead us on the right path."

Leon nodded. "That's something Sora always use to do. And it never seemed to fail him." He smirked slightly as he said, "I'm sure you guys will find something on how to get Sora back. In the meantime, we'll do what we can to help you guys out."

Yuffie got up Riku's face with a smirk, "That's right. No more leaving us out of the important stuff. We're gonna help you guys out whether you like it or not."

Aerith giggled at her friend's bravado before saying, "If we find anything about Sora, we'll let you know."

"Thanks." Riku said gratefully. Suddenly, Cid heard a ping from his computer and clicked on an icon that displayed a new message.

"What is it?" Leon asked.

"A message from the castle." Cid explained as he began reading the contents. "I'm just paraphrasing but it basically says that Ansem and those guys from the castle are ready to see you."

Kairi nodded as she got up, "Then it's time for me to go."

"Have a good sleep. Try not to get cranky when we wake you up." Yuffie quipped.

"We will all be here waiting for you." Aerith assured her. Riku walked over to Kairi. "I'll walk you to the castle."

"And what are you going to do in the meantime?" Leon asked.

"I'm going to begin my own investigation." The silver-haired boy replied. "However, I also plan to stop by the Land of Departure to continue my training under Terra and Aqua."

"Why go train with them?" Yuffie asked with a raised eyebrow. "Aren't you a Keyblade Master already?"

Riku shook his head. "I'm only Keyblade Master by title. Aside from the Power of Waking, it doesn't make me in all powerful fighter. Even I have my own limits." He explained, looking at his palm before gripping it. "That's why I plan on training hard until I'm truly worthy of the title I was given and be ready to find Sora."

Aerith smiled proudly at his determination. "I'm sure you'll get there. You just need to believe in yourself."

"I'm sure you have what it takes." Leon agreed. "Unlike Sora, you're a much more prominent Keyblade Wielder."

"Better not let Sora here you say that." Yuffie teased as the room was filled with laughter. Once they were calmed down, Riku and Kairi said their goodbyes before exiting Merlin's house. When they left, Yuffie looked over and noticed Cid staring deeply at the screen.

"What's up? You find something?" She asked, walking over.

"It looks like Ansem sent me another attachment with the email." Cid explained as he inspected the file. Once it was uploaded, he gasped as he saw the contents. "Well I'll be, it's the data that Ansem put inside Sora's heart."

"The one that was used to help bring back Roxas, Xion, and Ventus?" Leon asked as he and Aerith walked over as well. Cid nodded as he read through the files. "Most likely, they think this data might hold a clue to finding Sora like it did those other three."

"Will it work?" Aerith asked, hopefully. Cid smirked as he began typing away. "Looks pretty complex, but I'll be able to get something from it. Once I've downloaded it to my computer, I'll do some work around it and see what pops up. It'll take some serious finagling."

"Finagle away, oh computer master." Yuffie cheerfully patted Cid's back, the middle-aged man grunting before resuming his work.

Meanwhile, Riku and Kairi crossed the Central Square as they began approaching the main steps of the castle. As they did, Kairi looked over at Riku and noticed an expression that was bothering him. And she knew what it was.

"You had that dream again, didn't you?" She asked. Riku sighed as he knew he couldn't hide his feelings from Kairi.

"Sorry. I didn't want to bother you." He said but Kairi still wasn't convinced. "Riku, you've been having those dreams ever since Sora vanished. Do you think you should see Master Yen Sid or the King for help."

The silver-haired boy pondered his options for a moment. For the past weeks since Sora disappeared, he's been having the same dream that involves him being surrounded by tall buildings. He was looking around for Sora until he noticed someone watching him from up high. And that is where the dream ends. He was not sure why he was having those dreams or who the person watching him is. So far, he had only told Kairi about the dreams and he assured her that there was nothing to worry about.

"Thanks for your concerns, but I'm fine. Really, I am." Riku sincerely told her. "Besides, I can't help but feel that the dreams holds some meaning. Like…something is trying to reach out to me. At least…I think."

Kairi could see that Riku was being honest and decided not to pressure him. "If you say so. But just know that we're all with you. Me, Sora, the King, and our friends. Even Ichigo and the others."

Riku nodded with a smile. "Ichigo. I wonder what he and his friends are doing now?"

"Going about their daily lives. That's all they can do." Kairi surmised. "They have no means of leaving their world. Besides, Ichigo's lost…"

"I know." He concluded. "They did seem a little disappointed that they couldn't help, but I know they're with us. And besides, Ichigo's powers won't be lost forever."

Kairi looked at him in confusion. "How do you know?"

"I don't." He simply said, causing Kairi to fumble. Riku smirked, "If I know Sora, he'd say something like that. How we just have to believe Ichigo will have his powers back and it will come true. Since he's not here, I'll do the believe for him."

The red-haired girl laughed while shaking her head. "I really never expected you to say something like that. I guess you really are becoming more like Sora every day."

"Should I be flattered?" Riku asked as he joined in on the laughing. Once they were settled, they approach the main entrance where they noticed Dilan and Aeleus standing guard as always. Riku looked at Kairi, "Well, guess this is it."

Kairi nodded. "I'll be fine. After all, I'm not alone anymore. Just like how you won't be on your own either."

"Yeah…you're right." Riku said. "I'll be here when you wake up. Of course, it would probably feel like seconds for you."

"Then I won't have to miss you." Kairi giggled before wrapping her arms around her best friend. Riku was a little caught off guard but returned the hug as well. "Be safe."

"Same to you." He retorted before they both let go. Riku waved goodbye one last time as Kairi walked over to the castle's entrance. As he watched her being escorted in, he taught back to what he had said earlier.

"Believe." He whispered.

In Karakura Town

"YAAAH!" Ichigo let out a yawn as he walked across the riverbed with a school bag towed over his shoulders. He was wearing the standard school uniform consisting of a grey trouser, a white shirt, a grey blazer, and brown shoes. The school day had ended and Ichigo decided to head straight home since he had no other plans. In the weeks since the party ended, all his spirit energy had vanished completely, as evident when he could no longer see Rukia or sense other spiritual beings. As a result, his days as a Soul Reaper were over.

He was worried about who would deal with the usual Hollow attacks that occur in the town, but the Soul Society agree to send more capable fighters to protect the town. There was also Kisuke and his group, Yoruichi, Shinji and the other Vizards who were still here that could offer their assistances. Plus his friends weren't pushovers when it came to fighting Hollows. Though it bugged him that he could no longer fight, he knew there was nothing he could do now that he was a regular human.

It was odd for him to readjust to his usual routine, since he just fought a life-or-death battle not too long ago. But he got used to it after a few days. Of course, school life was still boring, but that wasn't different than before.

"Ichigo!" The orange-haired teen turned to see Orihime running up to him. Like Ichigo, she also wore the school uniform that consisted of a grey skirt, white shirt with red bow tie, grey blazer, black knee-length socks, and brown shoes. She carried her school bag on one hand as she waved towards her dear friend. "Wait up!"

"Orihime?" Ichigo was slightly surprised to see her. "What are you doing here? Didn't you have a club meeting or something?"

"Oh, the Handicrafts Club meeting was cancelled today." She explained. "Since our houses aren't that far away, I thought we could walk home together." Orihime blushed as began twiddling her thumbs. "That is…if you'd like to?"

Ichigo looked confused for a moment, but assumed she was only looking out for him. "Sure, why not. Besides, at least you won't have to walk all by yourself."

Orihime smiled happily as she ran over to Ichigo's side, fumbling for a bit before regaining her balance. The two teens shared a light laugh before finally walking home together. At this time, the sun had begun to set, and the evening stars were already sparkling in the sky. Orihime glance up before raising her head as she stopped to gaze at the stars, admiring their beauty. Ichigo stopped as he looked back, noticing Orihime's gaze.

"The stars look so beautiful." Orihime said, dreamily. Ichigo had followed her gaze and began to smirk in agreement.

"Gotta admit, I haven't really taken time to look at the stars since I was a kid." He revealed. When he was a child, Ichigo use to gaze at the stars every night with his mom. He remember once asking her if there was life beyond the sea of stars, but she often replied with a figure it out answer. However, after what he learned from Sora…

"Hard to believe that those stars are actually distant planets." Ichigo commented, remembering that the stars are worlds.

Orihime giggled. "I know what you mean. I always thought they were balls of gas held together by its own gravity." She then remembered that the other worlds were supposed to be a secret. "But I guess we can't go public about all this."

"Not like they'd believe us anyways." Ichigo scoffed. The young girl continued looking as a sad smile formed. "I wonder which star is Sora's world?"

The young man looked at his friend with empathy. He knew that she missed Sora very much. Heck, they all did. "I'm sure it's out there somewhere. It's not like it's gonna be easy to find."

The two remained quiet for a few seconds until Orihime asked, "I wonder how everyone else is doing? Do you think they've found Sora?"

Ichigo shrugged, "Not that I'd know. But I'm sure they'll find him. I mean, they know more about this stuff than us. Though I wish there was something we can do."

"I know what you mean. I really wanted to help to." Orihime confessed, thinking about her new friend. "But I guess it'd be trouble taking someone away from their world."

The orange-haired teen could see Orihime's expression beginning to falter and decided to say something to cheer her up. "Well, it's not like we're never gonna see him again. After all, he did say he'd come back. We just have to believe in that."

"Believe?" Orihime repeated before remembering that's what Sora said to her once before. The more you believe in something, the more it will become a reality. She smiled as she thought about the boy. "Before, back in Hueco Mundo, there were times when I lost hope and wanted to give up. Then Sora came and his words…for some reason…it made me want to keep believing that everything was going to be alright."

Orihime smiled brightly as she continued, "And most of all, it was because of how hard Sora and Kairi fought that it helped me believe in myself. And…I feel like I've gotten a little stronger from them."

"Yeah, I could see that in you." Ichigo said, happy at Orihime's newfound strength. "I gotta tell you, I don't know how Sora does it. Just one talk with the guy and he can make you into a whole new person, whether he means it or not."

"And if he says that he will come back to us, then I chose to believe in him." Orihime said, no hint of doubt in her words. "After all, our faith in him was never misplaced."

Ichigo nodded in agreement. "That's true. After all, our hearts are connected to him." Seeing that the sky was getting darker, he said, "We should head home before it gets dark."

Orihime agreed and the two teens continued making their way home. However, Orihime felt a gust of wind blow her hair up, making her gasp.

"What is it?" Ichigo asked. Orihime brushed her hair while staring in deep thought. "Could it be…"

"Orihime?" She looked at Ichigo and shook her head. "It's nothing. Don't worry about it." She excused herself as Ichigo nodded before they continued their walk home. However, their talk did give them much to think about. Specifically, about the strong connection they shared with Sora. Though they were not certain, they knew in their hearts that they would see him again.

And they weren't the only ones.

In the Final World

The Final World, the edge of reality for those who have not been fully claimed by death, consisted of nothing but ocean and sky that went on for miles and seemed. It was now nighttime in the Final World and Sora was walking on top the water as if it was a solid surface. The last time he came here was after he and the other guardians were consumed by Demon Tide. It was here he encountered Chirithy, who was shocked that Sora managed to retain a faint physical form. But since Sora and his friends tethered to the Realm of Light, he was given a chance to return to life by collecting the pieces of his body scattered throughout this plane.

Now, this was the place where Sora had returned to once more following his disappearance after misusing the Power of Waking. For what seemed like an eternity, Sora continuously walked throughout the Final World in a straight path. He continued dragging his feet as his shoulders were slumped and his eyes had bags. It was clear that he had been walking for a long period of time without receiving any rest.

"How long have I been walking here?" Sora asked himself, wiping his forehead. "Has it been days? no weeks maybe? Or has it been longer than that?"

Suddenly, after walking for so long, his body reached its limit and he collapsed to the water surface. Sora did not bother getting back up. He laid on the surface as the water made him feel at peace with himself.

"Maybe…I should just rest for a little while." Sora said as his eyes grew heavy. He yawned as he was about to close his eyes and drift off to sleep. However…

"Don't give in!"

(Kingdom Hearts III Soundtrack-Don't Think Twice)

Sora's eyes snapped open as he felt a large amount of light surging from his heart. Suddenly, despite having felt exhausted, Sora's strength began returning to him as he got up from the ground and stood up straight. However, his newfound strength wasn't on his mind. He looked everywhere, wondering where that voice came from.

Sora gasped as he looked down at his heart, seeing the light faded down. After realizing the source of that voice, a warm smile appeared on his face.

"Kalgara." He whispered. "You're with me, aren't you?"

Placing a hand in his heart, Sora began to remember all the people he is connected to. The people who care for him and wish to see him again. They all had faith that he would return, and he was not going to give up now.

"Don't worry guys. As long as you're all with me, I won't give up that easily." Sora said, determinedly. "I promise I'll find my way back to all of you. As long as there is a door to light, I will find. Just know…I'm always thinking about you."

As Sora continued walking off into the distance, Kalgara's spirit manifested behind Sora, smiling proudly as she faded away.

In Radiant Garden

Riku walked to the Central Square as he was about to activate the transporter to board the Gummi Ship. However, he felt a gust of wind blow past him as he looked up in the sky, seeing flower petals blowing across the sky. He smiled as he thought about his best friend, somehow feeling his presence was near

"You're still with me. Right, Sora?" Riku said, smiling before making his way.

Kairi walked behind Dilan and Aeleus as they lead her to the computer room, where she saw Ansem the Wise, Even, and Ienzo preparing a sleeping chamber for her. As she prepared to enter the room, she stopped as she felt the same gust of wind blow past her. She turned but saw that nothing from the outside was open, leaving no wind to come in.

The red-haired girl gasped as she realized what this meant. "Sora…you're still here." She smiled, placing a hand over her heart. Regardless of where he was, she could still feel his presence reaching out to her.

"I promise Sora. I will save you this time. Just give me more time." Kairi declared before making her way into the lab, ready do to what needed to be done.

In Karakura Town

Ichigo waved goodbye to Orihime as he walked over to the street where his house was. As Ichigo made his way home, he stopped as he then felt the same wind blow past him. He didn't know what that meant until he looked up at the sky. For some reason, he started to think of Sora and the more he thought, he guessed what that wind meant.

Ichigo smirked as he closed his eyes. "Yeah, I hear you. Thanks Sora."

With that, he crossed the porch and made his way home.

Orihime walked down the street as she remembered the wind she felt earlier. She had already guessed that it felt like Sora's presence. She warmly smiled as she could already feel the strong connection they shared.

"Thank you, Sora. Thank you for everything." Orihime said as she continued walking home.

All though they were all worlds apart, the four teens still felt the connection they all shared. The vow they made to meet again in the future was still as strong as it was. It was all thanks to the bond they held for each other. A bond so strong, that it will give them all great strength…in the far future to come.

A/N: There you have. Before I go into what I have planned next time, I just wanted to apologize for taking so long to finish this chapter. I honestly didn't expect it to be this long, but I just wanted to that everyone is moving on from the war and finding ways to get stronger. I was also dealing with some writers block once more, but I was able to overcome it. But a big reason was that last month, I downloaded Kingdom Hearts I.5 and II.5 for my Xbox One and got hooked into it that I couldn't stop. As it stands, I completely KH I.5 and currently halfway into KH2 Final Mix.

And I'm sure you all know; the world is currently in a state of panic right now. I have to say that I never imagined COVID-19 would have become this serious of a threat. From what started as an epidemic in China, has now become a global pandemic in just a few month since the first case. With all the jobs and schools closing, I'm sure everyone out there has it rough. As for me, am I scared…yes, I am. But I'm not going to let fear overcome me. I'm keeping myself healthy and still having faith that we will make it through this crisis and move on to a better tomorrow.

On a brighter note, I'm sure all of you have heard this but I'll say it just in case. It's back. IT'S FINALLY BACK! In the last eight years since it's last broadcast…THE BLEACH ANIME IS RETURNING! (Ahem) I was surprised when I saw the announce that after four years since the manga ended, the final arc is finally going to be animated. It won't start until (hopefully) 2021, but it's given me something to look forward to. I just hope that the anime fixes some problems that the manga had with its plot holes and rushed ending. As a dub person, I also hope they get the original English cast to reprise their role for the final arc.

Anyway, as sad as it is, I must bring this story to a close. I had a fun time writing it, but like all good story, it must come to an end. Of course, it won't truly be over as I still intend to write a sequel. But it won't be immediately as I still plan to write until the next Kingdom Hearts installment to share some light in Sora's return. I also want to see what the Bleach anime adds on to the final arc. But I swear that I will get to the sequel sometime in the future. In the meantime, I plan to rest for a while before continuing with a story that I've long neglected.

This is where I sign off. I like to thank you all for sticking with this story all the way to the end. The positives comments you gave really helped me keep this story going, despite the two-year hiatus that I took for Kingdom Hearts III. Anyways, before I go, let me treat all of you a sort of "Secret Ending" to this story. Which will set the stage for what's to come in the sequel.

Secret Ending

THE GATHERING OF THOSE FROM OLD

In the Keyblade Graveyard

All across the terrain was nothing but a barren wasteland, with dust clouds blowing all over the land. The most distinguishing feature of this land were numerous Keyblades imbedded to the ground. Known to few people, this land once stood as the battlefield for the ancient Keyblade War, where many Keyblade Wielders fought and died on this very land. And this world also served as the stage for the Second Keyblade War, a fight between the forces of light and darkness. However, at the center of all this, an object fell from the sky and jabbed its way to the ground.

It was a Keyblade with a dark black handle with a raised spiral carved around it, with its pommel and guard resemble black, demonic wings. The base of the blade is an etching of a goat and the shaft is formed from two black, barbed blades, etched with a white icon resembling a bramble of thorns. The teeth are formed in the shape of a demonic wing, and are set with a blue, glowing eye. The Keychain is made of small, grey links, and the token is an entangled, grey talisman with another eye, same as the first. This Keyblade held No Name but the eye it held has been referred to as the Gazing Eye.

Out of nowhere, a figure in a black coat grabbed the No Name Keyblade's handle and lifted off the ground.

"Finally, back where it belongs." He said, gazing at the Keyblade. Then, north, south, east, west of his direction, the figure looked to see four people walking over to him.

The first was a young man whose face was hidden underneath a white unicorn mask that has a gold trim. His white, hooded cloak covers a robe, shirt, and sash that are all light blue in coloration and have gold embroidering. Gold tassels also appear on the front of his cloak. His name is Ira.

The second was a young woman who wore a blue snake mask that hides her face. Her light blue, hooded cloak covers a robe, shirt, and sash that are all a darker shade of blue. Turquoise tassels appear on the front of her cloak. Her name is Invi.

The third was a muscular young man who covers his face under a dark grey bear mask. His tan, hooded cloak covers a robe, shirt, and sash that are all light brown in coloration and have black embroidering. Gold tassels appear on the front of his cloak. His name is Aced.

The last one was a young boy with a white leopard mask that hides his face. His pale yellow, hooded cloak covers a robe, shirt, and sash that are all yellowish tan in coloration and have dark grey embroidering. Light blue tassels appear on the front of his cloak. His name is Gula.

The four came to a halt as they were now close to the hooded figure. "Did you summon us back?" Ira asked.

"Yep." The figure replied.

Ira glanced down and, to his surprise, saw the No Name Keyblade that the figure was holding. There was only one person he knew who wielded that Keyblade and who he would've given it to. If he had that Keyblade, then he must be…

"Is that you Luxu?" He asked the man, surprised. "You look different."

"Haven't heard that name in a long while." Luxu said as he pulled back his hood. Revealing himself to be Xigbar. "These days they call me Xigbar, but hey, whatever suits you."

Invi was still skeptical if this man was really her fellow apprentice from long ago. "Is it…really you?" She asked.

"Yeah, but some time ago, I had to cast my old form away." Xigbar explained to the four. "Been through plenty more semblances since, but it's still me underneath it all."

"What happened? Why are we here? You tell me?" Aced demanded, growing impatient by all this confusion. Seeing everyone wanted answers, Xigbar decided to explain.

"I had a role to play." He stated. "After all these years, it's done."

"What role?" Invi inquired. However, unknown to them, they were not alone. Further away, there were two figures that had been watching them since the time of their arrival.

The first one is a fair and green-skinned woman with shining, yellow eyes, heavily shadowed with violet make-up, and her lips are painted red. Her head is topped with a black-horned headdress, long, tattered black robe with a purple trim and maroon edges which flare out. She carries a staff with a glowing green orb at the tip, through which she casts her spells. She is none other than Maleficent, the Mistress of All Evil.

The second is a portly, black furred, anthropomorphic cat wearing armor colored in shades of blue and purple overtop a red, short-sleeved shirt with a vertical pink stripe descending from the neck, navy blue pants with a large zipper going down the front and reaching around to the back, light blue lining, purple lower legs, and two enormous pouches on either front side attached by four pins. He wears white sneakers with light blue fronts and two periwinkle straps. His attire has two navy blue pauldrons with two cyan bumps and a periwinkle end. Two gold buttons that connect to two blue suspenders that intersect over his chest before connecting to his pauldrons. He also wears fingerless gauntlets, the wrists being light blue with a pale-yellow semi-circle on top, while the gloves are periwinkle with a bump on each knuckle with a dark blue-green design on the back of each glove. He is Pete, a loyal servant of Maleficent.

Their attention was not focused just on the five but the object that laid next to Xigbar, a black box. The black box, the very one they had been searching for the entire time. However, though it was within their sights, they knew that it was heavily guard and could not get to it now. Without another word, the two took their leave, vowing to claim it at the opportune time.

Xigbar began looking around for someone who he assumed would be among them. "Hmm…I guess Ava didn't make it after all."

"Meaning what?" Asked Gula, wondering why he was intrigued by her absence. Xigbar turned to him and replied, "I told her, clear as day, what it is I had to do."

"And is that why you decided to exclude her?" Gula demanded.

"As if." Xigbar said, looking at the sky. "Ava had her own mission, and she carried it out."

"I've heard enough!?" Aced snapped, irritated by the constant questions and vague replies. He fiercely demanded, "Luxu, what was your role!?"

Xigbar closed his eyes for a moment, before smirking and glaring down at the black box. "I hope you like long stories."

ENEMIES FROM THE SHADOWS

(A/N: One important note, the characters that will appear are from Bleach. I'm sure you know who they are but until their official debut, I will not be naming them, and their names will be censored. But if you're a Bleach fan, I'm sure you'll be able to tell who they are from their letters. As for the English VAs I gave them, that's just how I've imagined their voices in my head.)

As Xigbar began to explain, unknown to them, there was another group that had been watching the scene transpire from afar, opposite of where Maleficent and Pete stood. They were three individuals that wore the same distinctive white, ankle-length cloaks that features a five-pointed cross emblazoned on the back. They all wore hoods attached to the cloak's collar, each with three distinguishing buttons that feature different letters.

The first was a man with medium length black hair with white streaks, with a strand hanging down in front of his face, reaching his mouth. He has lavender eyes, a thin face with pronounced cheekbones and markings running from the ends of his eyebrows to the corners of his eyes. Aside from his cloak, he wears baggy pants with the cuffs tucked in his boots, 3 layers of collared silver armor around his neck, shins, and crotch accented with periwinkle stripes with an indigo jewel in the center, as well as ornamental pink, purple, and red bracers on his left arm. The button on his cloak had the letter "D" inscribed on it.

The second was a slender young girl with long, straight, dark brown hair and brown eyes. Her attire consisted of a white thigh-length trench coat, knee-high boots, a miniskirt, and black stockings with a red trim on her gloves and boots. She wears a red heart-shaped belt buckle and a white cap with gold trimmings, which features a black peak and the same insignia emblazoned on its front. The button on her cloak had the letter "E" inscribed.

The last person was a man with green eyes and red hair styled into a long Mohawk and has two metal nuts pierced into his upper-left ear, and a bolt through his lower-right ear. His attire consisted of a thigh-length trench coat, black gloves, and pants which are cropped just above a pair of black military boots. He wears a thin chain with the same emblem attached to it around his neck and black armbands around his biceps, with a skull and cross bones design on it. The button on his cloak had the letter "H" inscribed.

E held a bored expression as she watched the scene unfold. "So that's the box that his majesty warned us about. The one he warned us to never open under any circumstance."

D just chuckled humorously. "Looks can be deceiving ?. What matters is that we must heed his majesty's instruction. Especially if he gives it great importance."

H snorted as he said, "So then…why are we just standing around for? Let's go down there, kill those guys, and take that dumb box back with us."

"For once, I agree with you ?." E said, though sneered. "Besides, those guys look like they could be trouble and could cause problems for our plans."

"Now, now. Don't act rash you two." D instructed. "His majesty only ordered us to keep watch until the events of the war concluded. He never gave us orders on what to do afterwards, especially to act on impulse."

E looked at him with a ticked expression. "So what! We just stand here and twiddle our thumbs while they get away!?"

"I don't give a crap what you think!" H snapped. "I still say we should at least get that box before…"

"? remember what his majesty always says?" D rhetorically asked her. E and H flinched in fright as they heard their king's cold words in their heads.

"Don't think, obey?"

"Now, I don't know about you, but if you want to tell his majesty that you disobeyed his orders, then hey, be my guest." D snidely told them

E looked at D angrily while H still looked miffed before sighing. "Fine! But we'll at least report this back to HQ. Not like I even want to talk to that bastard ?."

D nodded and turned away, however, he continued talking about another subject. "By the way, the recon team reported back about that boy. The one that helped the Soul Reaper kid take down Aizen."

This news caught E's and H's attention as they looked at him curiously. E then remembered whom he was referring to. "Oh right, you mean that Sora kid."

H just scoffed at the mention of his name. "What about that kid anyways? Last I heard, he blipped out of existence."

D chuckled as he said, "Well, I overheard that his majesty plans to add him to the list."

E's and H's eyes widened at this shocking new development. That list was only reserved for important or threatening individuals who could alter the outcome of their plans. E shook off her shock and fiercely asked. "Are you kidding me!? Why the hell would his majesty add some guy like him!"

"That kid didn't look anything special!" H agreed. "Yeah, he helped beat Aizen, but that doesn't mean anything! And besides, didn't he…"

"Need I remind you about underestimating others." D repeated. E and H remained silent for a moment before deciding to end the conversation. Though they still questioned their king's decision, not liking it one bit. However, if this Sora kid was that important, then it gave them someone to look out for when they begin their plans.

E sighed and rubbed her head in annoyance. "Alright fine, whatever. Like I care anyways. One of you guys just hurry and call it in."

"And who said you could boss us around!?" H snapped at her. Before E could lash out, D cleared his throat as he pulled out his communicator.

"This ought to be fun." He said as he got through to someone.

THE PREMONITION OF THE KING…

Unknown location

Walking down a narrow corridor was a tall young man with a thin build and long blonde hair, which descends past his shoulders, and blonde eyelashes. His attire consists of a white hooded-cloak, a calf-length trench coat with dark green fur running down from his left collar to the front of the coat, a green belt with a golden belt buckle, white trousers and shoes. The button on his cloak was inscribed with the letter "B".

He stopped as he approached a giant door. B cleared his throat before opening the large door with relative ease. Inside was a large round room with only a staircase leading up to what seemed to be a throne. The entire room was covered in shadows, but there was one figure that sat on the throne.

It was a tall man. His attire consists of a white, double-breasted trench coat, which has the same five-cross symbol on the middle, with large buttoned cuffs and lapels, white trousers, and trench boots. Over this, he wears a tattered, ankle-length maroon-black cloak, which has a red ribbon near the neck and is fastened to the left with a single large button. Because of the shadows, his face was difficult to describe, but one could only see his pronounced cheekbones, mutton chops and a connected mustache. Sticking out from the shadows were reddish-brown eyes.

Once B approached the throne, he got on one knee and deeply bowed to the man who was none other than their king.

"Speak." The king's gruff voice spoke.

"We have received word from our reconnaissance team." B informed. "As you had foresaw, the box and the Keyblade Wielders of old have crossed into our world-line."

The king chuckled at the latest news. "The Keyblade Wielders. Meddling like always."

"If what you foresaw about the box comes to pass, then shall we reclaim while it while it's location is revealed?" B asked. Despite the shadows, B could see his king shaking his head in refusal.

"No, there is no need for us to lay a finger on them." He replied. "I have seen their future and they will be defeated by the Keyblade's true chosen wielder."

"You mean the boy who helped Ichigo Kurosaki defeat Sōsuke Aizen." B deduced, but then realized. "Then…he will return?"

The king nodded, "Yes. His future has been set." He then looked at B. "? Inform the reconnaissance team to return at once. For now, it is still too soon for us to reveal ourselves. We must prepare for when it is our time to rise."

B nodded. "As you wish." He then got up and walked towards the door. However, he stopped as he decided to ask. "One more thing, what should be done about Hueco Mundo. For what our other team has discovered is that they have allied with the Soul Society."

"You needn't worry about that." The king assured. "A group of Hollows will not impede our plans. However, I might just have a word with their former king when the time comes." He then ordered, "? See that our troops continue to prepare themselves for when we commence our plans."

"Very well your majesty." B said. "It shall be done."

The king watched as B left the throne room, closing the doors behind him. When the doors shuts, he slumped back to his throne as a malicious smile creeped on his face.

"A kind and gentle heart with the ability to charm others and lead them to follow that heart. A heart so strong that it could overcome any darkness and bring light to others." The king monologued to himself. "That power to derive strength from the heart has always been your greatest attribute. Heh, heh, which is why…I will focus all of my power to destroy it."

"I will see that everything you've worked so hard to build will be destroyed before your very eyes. That your ideals were wasted. You squandered your own gifts. Though you were not wrong in choosing that boy, know that he too will share in your own demise." The king's teeth showed as his smirked widened. "So go on, try and send your champions. But despite your attempts, you will only be delaying the inevitable. You will know the feeling of despair as I bring about a new world order by tearing the old world asunder."

The king then sat up as he raised his head. "As I warned you both, you should have killed me when you had the chance. Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto. And you…Ka-"

MARKS THE BEGINNING OF A FORGOTTEN TALE

Unknown location

Inside what seemed to be a library was a boy who wore only a black coat that completely hid his face. The boy was none other than Luxu, who was skimming through many books as the black box laid beside him. He had already been instructed to leave with the box and his master's Keyblade to fulfill his role but decided to prepare himself before then.

"Taking your sweet time, eh." Luxu turned to see a tall man who wore the same black coat he did, his face also concealed. He went by his title as the Master of Masters, though was mainly referred to as the Master by his pupils. His real name…only few knew it.

"Oh…master!" Luxu jolted in surprise. "I'm sorry. I didn't see you there!"

"Hey, no need to get jumpy." The Master assured him. "Course, I thought you'd be out of here by now. What's wrong? Feeling homesick?"

Luxu meekly chuckled. "Well, a little bit. I just thought I'd finish this story that I've been reading for a while. Which is funny because the only title that's on this book is called…The Beginning."

The Master remained silent for a moment before saying. "So, you managed to dig up that old book." Though his expression could not be seen, Luxu could feel a serious aura he was giving.

"Have you read it before?" He asked.

"Yep. Read it once when I was your age." The Master replied. "I will say that it's a serious page turner. Looks to me like you're on the final chapter. Why don't you go ahead and skim to the last picture."

Luxu nodded and flipped the page over…where he saw a picture of a girl donned in golden armor wielding the Kingdom Key Keyblade. The person she was fighting was depicted as a large white demon wielding a blue sword of light.

"What is this?!" Luxu asked in surprise.

"To answer your question, let me ask you this; do you know why this book is called "The Beginning"?" Luxu shook his head and the Master continued, "Well it's because this book dates back to the start of the ancient Keyblade era. Which you could say, started almost a thousand years ago."

"That far!" Luxu exclaimed in shock. The Master nodded. "That's right. And that girl you see there, she's the one who started it all You might consider her history's first Keyblade Wielder."

The young pupil looked in awe at what he had discovered. However, he then asked, "How come the others weren't told about this?"

The Master just waved it off, "Like an old story from centuries ago has anything to do with our generation. I merely just focus on the now instead of being stuck on the past."

While he understood that, another question came to mind. "What about this…white demon that she's fighting? Who is he?"

"Don't know." The Master replied, nonchalantly. Luxu moaned in dismay. "But what I do know is that was the first threat to Kingdom Hearts. You know the story, how the world was whole and full of light. People believed the light came from Kingdom Hearts and how it was protected by the χ-blade."

"You mean the great conflict to come wasn't the first time Kingdom Hearts was threatened." Luxu deduced.

"Bingo." The Master confirmed. "Course no one really knows anything about this guy. But what I know is that his darkness was powerful. And it led her to be the first to forge a weapon that would be called the Keyblade. Then, she would pass on her knowledge to others, creating the first Keyblade order. Then they would pass on their knowledge until our time came."

The young pupil looked at the No Name Keyblade then at his masters. "Master…is that what your trying to do? Do you believe that this great threat might return?"

"Who knows. That's minor stuff that you shouldn't worry about." The Master humorously denied. "Just remember the role you must fulfill; take that Keyblade, train a worthy apprentice, then pass that Keyblade on. Easy."

"Yeah. I guess you're right." Luxu closed the book and got up. He picked up the box and Keyblade as he prepared to exit the room. However, he looked back at his master one last time. "I have one more question. Master…that woman in the picture…what was her name?"

The Master of Masters hummed for a moment, the chuckled as he said, "Her names been lost for hundreds of years. But it just so happens that only a few that dove deeply into her story were able to dig it up." The Master picked up the book and examined the picture once more.

"Her name is…Kalgara."
