They say You're the King of everything

The One who taught the wind to sing

The source of the rhythm my hearts keeps beating

And they say You can give the blind their sight

You can bring the dead to life

You can be the hope my heart keeps seeking

I wanna tell You now that I believe it

I wanna tell you now that I believe it

I do

That You can make me new

-Write Your Story, by Francesca Battistelli

The Legend lives on

And they all lived happily ever after...

Okay, okay there is a bit more to it than that.

After we returned to Earth the Garrison couldn't believe their eyes when they learned aliens really did exist. Who knew home videos of cute little space mice sleeping on a longma's mane could be so convincing?

Pidge, Matt and Sam were able to replicate Allura's wormhole technology in less than three months. Thanks to them the Garrison became one of the first places in the world to combine alien and earth technology. Can my girl work miracles or what?

As for me, I took a little time off to catch up with my family before continuing my studies. If you can believe it I graduated a full year ahead of my class and broke Shiro's piloting record! No, I'm not bragging this time, you can ask Shiro. What can I say, you pick up a lot when you're off fighting in a space war.

Hunk went back to working at his family's restaurant, incorporating his new alien recipes to the menu, which was a huge hit. He then went on to open his own food delivery service and two years later he became the first person ever to build his very own Intergalactic Traveling Restaurant! Aside from all the fighting and death lasers, Hunk really missed traveling the galaxy. He recruited people from Earth, and all across the universe to become a part of his culinary team. Including that crazy Galra guy from the space mall and his weird bearded grandma.

And of course his girlfriend Shay. Yes, we can call her his girlfriend now and he won't deny it.

And don't worry, Silver Star became part of his team too, Hunk's official right hand longma. Along with her mom and "Gruncle" Kolivan, the three of them made the best garlic knots this side of the Milky Way, and they've never been happier.

Speaking of longmas, Ember, Blaze, Aura and Comet were so inspired by the paladins that they decided to open up the first official Voltron Academy on Arielle! Open to all aliens, bipedal or otherwise, teaching the next generation of Universal Defenders.

I know what a lot of you are thinking: Did Ember and Comet ever get together? Well, it was a long and uphill slope, but little Comet eventually got the courage to ask out Ember and a few years later they had little hatchlings of their own. Triplets: Twilight, Sunset and Starlight. Every bit as spirited as their mother.

Nebula spent her golden years with Shiro and Romelle, and Shiro continued his duties as the head of the royal military and he and Romelle eventually settled down and started a family. The man has never been happier.

Keith and Allura continued to rule Arielle with wisdom and kindness and their planet wasn't home to just Galra and Alteans but for many other races who lost their homes in the war. Allura eventually reinstated Honerva as the Official Royal Alchemist, sharing her knowledge with the next generation. And not to ever listen to evil inter-dimensional space demons.

Krolia spent her days bonding with her three grandkids, and little Shira has already started showing an interest in combat. Like father, like daughter.

Coran got promoted from royal caretaker to Royal Ambassador and Chief Advisor to the Empress and Emperor. Which made him pretty popular with the ladies. Turns out Dayak likes a man in uniform... and with a mustache. Though, I can't say Allura and Lotor were too thrilled about it. Trust me guys, I know how you feel.

Thanks to the upgraded Garrison tech we were able to keep in touch with Arielle all the time, and Earth became Arielle's first official trading partner. You should have seen the look on Iverson's face when he saw Keith and Shiro again. Actually you can because I took a picture.

Keith also kept his promise to Allura and took the entire family on their first Earth vacation, seeing all of the sights Keith showed Allura in the Astral Plane. No surprise, Paris was Allura's favorite.

As for Acxa, she continued to lead the Blades or Marmora with the same dedication and optimist spirit as her father before her. She was an inspiration to everyone she met.

After many years of hard work, Lotor, the guy who used to be met with boos and rotten fruit to the face everywhere he went, was now welcomed with open arms. He was known far and wide as the 'Impossible Hero'. A villain who became a true savior of the innocent and was loved by many, especially the kids. As for him and Acxa... well, what did you expect, of course they hooked up!

Speaking of hook ups, one question still remains: What happened to me and Pidge? Well, you'd be happy to know that after a couple more years of dating, me getting a swanky job as Piloting Instructor and Pidge becoming the new head of the Department of Advanced Alien Technology by the age of eighteen... I finally said yes.

What? A woman can't propose to her man? My lady ain't one to beat around the bush.

And there you have it. That's the story of how the paladins of Voltron ended the war, not just by fighting, but by bringing people together again, including the Galra, not just fighting, but through love. Turns out we are all part of a bigger story. We may not always know how it ends but as long as you never loose sight of the light then you'll find yourself exactly where you were always meant to be. We have the Lions to thank for that.

"Now that you don't pilot the lions anymore do you still talk with the other paladins?"

The young Garrison students stared at the two adults in awe once they reached the end of their story. The Garrison no longer enrolled just earthlings but also other aliens as well. With Arielle becoming a trading partner with Earth, the two planets shared a lot more than just resources. It took Earth a while to fully accept aliens, and in some parts of the world it was still difficult, but thankfully there were still enough people to help bridge the gap. It was a slow process, but they were trying and that was enough.

"Of course." Lance said, revealing to him his wristband, which he always wore even after all those years. "Life may keep us busy and we may not always be able to see each other as often as we'd like, but we still keep in touch no matter what, even if it's just to say hello."

A clap caught everyone's attention. Lance's wife, Mrs. Katie "Pidge'' McClain entered the room. "Alright kids, that's enough questions for today. Professor Lance and I have got someplace to be in a few dobashes, and you all got class to get back to."

The students all groaned in disappointment. Lance laughed, "Come on future space explorers, you won't get to the stars if you don't open up the books first."

The students followed their teacher to their respective classes, leaving Pidge and Lance alone with what was a very old prototype of the first simulator Lance had once crashed and wrecked on their first test.

"They never did get around to fixing that dent." Pidge said.

"You know I never actually crashed us into Pluto's surface, right? It was a virtual exam."

"I still banged my head against the control panel. Which would explain as to why I married you."

"Then I guess I did something right that day. I failed a test but gained a wife."

Pidge laughed so hard she almost dropped her clipboard. Leave it to Lance to turn a semi insult on its head. She taught him well. Pidge pulled her husband close by yanking on his collar.

"Yeah. You did." She kissed his lips and was rewarded with that adorable lopsided grin of his. "Come on, let's grab the kids and—"

The two of them flinched when they heard a familiar explosion coming from a nearby testing lab. Smoke spilled from the bottom and sides of the door and when Pidge and Lance entered they coughed as the thick clouds nearly engulfed them.

On the other side of the room was a young twelve-year-old girl with light brown skin like Lance and brown hair with red hues and blue eyes.

"Carmen, what happened?" Lance asked.

"Leo happened."

The culprit of the explosion was an eleven-year-old boy with a medium skin tone, a subtle blend of both Pidge and Lance's skin, and light brown hair. His face was covered in ashes as were his goggles, which he removed to reveal his caramel colored eyes. He held a screwdriver and a motionless robot laid on the table. The smoke was coming out of the robot's chest.

"Hey Mom, hey Dad."

"Still working on Chip, I see." Pidge said as she dusted the soot from her lab coat.

"I may have tried to insert the neuron sensory program a little pre-maturely."

"This is why I stick to hoverboards." Carmen said as she tapped on a glowing orb on her wrist bracelet and a hoverboard flew right in her hand. "Way more straight forward."

"If by straight forward you mean 'boring' then yes."

"You're just jealous because you refuse to ride one."

"Okay, that's enough you two!" Lance said, pulling his son close. "Robots and hoverboards are both equally cool and awesome."

"Well.." Pidge began but stopped when her husband gave her a death glare. No fair, she taught him that. "Your father's right. Besides, we've got to get going soon, remember?"

"Aww, but Mom!" Leo protested.

"Chip will still be here when we get back, honey."

"Can you at least ask Grandma to watch over him while I'm gone?"

"Sure thing, sport. Now come on."

The kids were securely strapped in their seats behind their parents, both co-piloting their Garrison Inter-dimensional Space Ship. Sam bid Pidge and Lance farewell and told the kids to be on their best behavior. And by that he meant not to blow anything up while they were there. Which really wasn't fair that had only happened once and had been an accident…..mostly. From his lab, Matt activated the wormhole, still powered by the large Balmera crystal, and the ship flew into the vortex.

Powered by a very large Balmera crystal, and with the upgrades made by Pidge herself, the Garrison now had wormhole technology for fast intergalactic travel. Matt sadly couldn't make it to the event this year, mainly because his wife Nyma would be expecting soon and he didn't want to leave her alone. Plus, she didn't do well with travel in her state.

Lance and Pidge flew the pod through the wormhole into the spiraling vortex. The magical display of space and stars zooming past them at breakneck speed never ceased to dazzle the two children. Lance and Pidge would admit that it was a marvel for them as well, especially when it'd been a while since they had traveled through a wormhole. It didn't take them long to reach their destination.

Planet Arielle.

The last time the kids had visited they were no more than five and six respectively, seeing it again felt just as spectacular as the first time. The planet had changed a lot in the following years. It resembled Altea with stations posted outside of its atmosphere. The planet was also a lot like Earth in that it had a lot of large green areas and beautiful oceans that were just begging for the kids to jump right in.

The pod flew over the city, where a number of Galra, Alteans, and Galteans (Galra/Altean hybrids) waved hello when they saw the familiar pod flying by. What once began as a simple village became a gleaming city that put New York and Hong Kong to shame. Buildings shaped like spires stretched to the sky, and a monorail system zoomed to and fro getting people to their respected destination. The city was also very eco-friendly, with various parks and tall trees adorning various city blocks. It was something straight out of a futuristic fantasy novel.

The pod finally arrived at the Capital, where the Castle Ship was located. It had been a long time since the castle had flown but it was nice for the place to have a now permanent resting place again. Over the years the Castle had gone through some physical changes, its blue and white coloring merging with the light purples of the Galra culture. A beautiful blend of both people, now united by love.

Waiting for them outside of the castle entrance was the royal family. Keith had grown in stature, with a body that nearly rivaled Shiro's physique. His hair grew out which he held back in a low ponytail. His features became sharper, similar to his father, and he was already showing signs of facial hair, which he shaved often. Allura still looked as radiant as when she was a teenager, with Alteans aging a bit slower than humans, similar to the Galra, but it was evident in her eyes and stronger facial features that she was indeed growing older and wiser as the years went.

Krolia still looked the same, but was already showing subtle signs of wrinkles and gray hairs, as was Coran, a lot sooner than she actually was, but he still had that bright and spring-like look in his eyes that subtracted at least ten more years. Ember was now a full grown longma, as tall as Nebula, still wearing her princess circlet and royal collar. Comet was now a strapping young stallion and beside him and Ember were their triplet hatchlings.

The royal twins stood beside their parents, now fifteen-years-old. Regris and Shira inherited both of their parents' beauty, as well as their strong characters. Shira was as headstrong and fearless as her mother, inheriting her father's love for speed and adrenaline. She was cheerful, energetic and adventurous, charming all who knew her. She was very close with Kosmo, who was now a full grown wolf, big enough for her to ride on like a steed.

Regris had his mother's knack for diplomacy and ability to inspire anyone he knew to follow his lead. He was charismatic, patient and welcoming to all, being the first born twin meant he was to inherit the throne one day, something he took very seriously. A little too seriously, sometimes. Allura often tried to get her son to relax and enjoy his childhood, as did his sister, but he was equally as stubborn as his mother. He was also very skilled in combat, but while Regris relied on discipline and control, Shira treated it as a game of sorts. To everyone else, the twins seemed as different as night and day, but their parents knew they were far more alike than they wanted to admit.

When the pod landed both Leo and Carmen unbuckled their seatbelts and dashed to the door to greet their friends. The twins welcomed the young earthlings with open arms. Shira grabbed Leo and spun him in the air with her Altean strength. "Hey, little buddy! Wow, you're a lot taller than the last time I saw you. And heavier."

"Carmen, it's so good to see you again." Regris said, hugging young Carmen. The prince loved her like a little sister.

"I missed you too, Regris. Oh, I mean Prince Regris." Carmen curtsied, making Regris laugh.

"No need for formalities."

"Leo!" Twilight and Starlight jumped on the boy knocking him to the ground.

"Twily, Star, it's great to see you!"

"What did you bring us this time?" Twilight asked excitedly, wagging her tail like a puppy.

"Did you bring your robot?" Starlight asked, equally as excited as her sister.

"Did you finish him yet?"

"I just asked that."

"No, you asked if he brought him."

"Same thing."

"No it's not."

"Girls, girl, calm down." Comet said, pulling them back by their tails. "Give him room to breathe."

Sunset rolled her eyes at her hyperactive siblings. "Little sisters."

"And little brothers." Carmen said, holding out her hand for a high five, which Sunset responded with her tail.

Lance and Pidge exited the pod, feeling a little embarrassed at their kids' impulsiveness. Thankfully, their old friends weren't at all bothered by this. Once they stood before the Emperor and Empress, the two bowed.

"Emperor Keith. Empress Allura." Lance greeted while speaking in a comedically British sounding accent.

"Mr. and Mrs. McCain." Keith greeted. After a good laugh the four friends greeted each other like real friends did. By hugging.

"It's so good to see you." Keith said.

"It's good to see you too." Lance said, "You finally upgraded from a mullet to a ponytail. Suits you better."

"Thank you. I see you finally decided to shave off that caterpillar on your lip."

"Thank Pidge, she shaved it off in my sleep."

"No regrets." Pidge said, making Allura laugh.

"How are things back at the Garrison?"

"Fantastic. I noticed you took my suggestion on the monorail system upgrade."

"3.78.9 tics faster than the previous model. You'd think people wouldn't notice the difference but they do." Allura said.

Nebula flew in, carrying Shiro, his wife Romelle and their thirteen-year-old son Bandor, named after his deceased uncle. Bandor looked a great deal like his father but had his mother's Altean ears, facial markings, and amethyst colored eyes.

"Shiro!" Pidge and Lance exclaimed happily, hugging their old friend.

"Welcome back guys."

"Sorry Matt couldn't make it this time, but he says hi." Pidge said. "Also, if you had any more advice when dealing with a pregnant alien wife."

"My advice: Wear a helmet until the baby comes."

"Hey, I'm blind not deaf." Romelle joked. Bandor poked from behind his mother. Despite being in his early teens the young lad was a shy one. Romelle patted her son's head. "It's alright, dear. You remember Lance and Pidge, don't you?"

The young boy walked out from behind his mother and politely greeted the two. "Hello, Uncle Lance, Aunt Pidge."

"It's great to see you again, Bandor. You've gotten so big." Pidge ruffled the young boy's hair, making him blush. "At this rate you'll be as tall as your father."

Ember walked up to the couple, wrapping her wings around them. " Welcome back, guys. I missed you so much."

"We missed you too, Princess." Lance said, stroking her mane.

"Welcome back to Arielle." Regris said with a dignified bow.

Shira rolled her eyes, "You know you don't have to bow to everyone you see, bro."

"Still as spunky? as ever, eh Shira?" Lance said.

"Welcome back, Uncle Lance!" Shira jumped into her uncle's arms like she always did whenever he visited. "Come on, Regs. Scared of getting your fancy suit dirty?"

Regris rolled his eyes and Pidge pulled him into a tight hug. "Bring it in, Keith jr.!"

Keith face palmed at the nickname. Pidge never missed a chance to call Regris that right in front of him. They heard the sound of wingbeats and from above they saw Aura and Blaze descend.

"Pidge!"

"Aura!"

"Blaze!"

"Lance!"

After many years, Pidge and Lance were reunited with their longma friends. The siblings had grown tremendously, just like Ember and Comet. Aura still wore her goggles, and her hair pulled back, no longer hiding her beautiful eyes, she was almost as tall as Blaze now.

"Wow, you've gotten really big." Pidge said while stroking her mane.

"You could say that again."

Blaze craned his neck over Lance's shoulder and the man hugged the longma close. "I missed you so much, buddy."

"Me too. I was almost sure you had forgotten me."

"No way! Like I would ever forget my little brother."

"How's the teaching's gig treating you?"

"Stressful, but rewarding. You?"

"Same."

"Blaze!" Leo rushed to the longma, hugging his legs.

"Hey, little lion! How ya been?" Blaze levitated Leo into the air and positioned him on his back. "Still up for that riding lesson?"

"You know it!"

"Ah, ah, ah, you can ride into the sunset after the dinner party." Pidge scolded, making all three of them groan in disappointment.

"Speaking of which, where's Uncle Hunk?" Carmen asked, "Is he here yet?"

Right on cue, another portal opened up and a huge ship with the name "Hunk's Space Cuisine Ship" written on the side in neon lights. The ship landed near the castle and Hunk walked out alongside his wife Shay and young daughter.

"Somebody order a royal feast?"

(~)

Hunk and his team of chefs prepared a mouth-watering banquet for the event. Once a year Arielle would host a festival in memory of the Paladins of Old and the heroic sacrifice of the Voltron Lions. It was titled Voltron Day. For the past fifteen years this event brought many races from all across the universe. There was music, games and lion-shaped snacks and pastries for the children. Glass lanterns levitated over the citizens, Pidge's own design, inspired by her and Lance's blueprints from Keith and Allura's wedding. The two of them were often called by the royal family when it came to the decor. As Lance always said: Once a part time wedding planner always a part time wedding planner.

The children were laughing as they played together with the other local children. Shira, being the most athletic and spirited of the twins, played like she was still five-years-old. Scaring the kids by jumping out of places and tickling them, also playing pretend in a fake castle, pretending they were paladins fighting bad guys. Not necessarily Galra, but Shira wasn't too offended. Only she could pull her brother in to join the fun.

Valtor, the child of Reyna, the refuge and widow of a reformed Galra soldier who tragically perished before their half-blood son was born, had grown into a strapping young lad. Reyna and her brother stared a new life on Arielle and were eternally grateful to the Emperor and Empress for giving her and her child a second chance during those times of war.

Valtor was Regris's best friend, a brother-in-arms one would say. Though, Valtor had a different opinion when it came to Shira. It made Keith wary, but Allura assured him Valtor was a kind and loving young man. A tad shy, it took Shira to bring him out of his shell, a similar dynamic to her big sister Ember and her mate Comet from when they were young.

Blaze gave Leo that riding lesson he wanted while Carmen rode on Aura. Silver Star levitated plates of food for everyone when it was time to eat dinner, though she nearly lost her balance when a half human-half balmaran girl kicked the ball a little too hard in her direction. Thankfully, Shay caught it in time, though she and her husband Hunk didn't look at all pleased.

"Crystal, what did we say about playing kickball in the castle?" Hunk scolded his little girl. Crystal groaned in disappointment.

"Can I throw water balloons at the guards later?" Crystal asked.

"No, it's rude."

Luckily for Hunk, Regris came by and led the rambunctious half-blood outside to play. Keith chuckled. "I see she's still as spunky as ever."

"I have no idea where she gets it from!" Hunk complained. "Hey, weren't Lotor and the others supposed to get here by now?"

Honerva walked by, her hair turning more gray with time which she kept it in a prim and proper bun. "I just spoke with him, he and the others should be arriving soon."

As luck would have it, a ship loomed overhead. It was one of the Blade ships with the monogram on both sides of the ship.

"See, I told you we'd make it here on time." Acxa said, she sat in the pilot seat while Lotor was in the passenger seat beside her. Zethrid and Ezor sat in the back. Zethrid had already dozed off, snoring loudly with a droplet of saliva on the side of her mouth. Ezor used her antenna to slap her awake.

"Finally, I'm starving." Zethrid said, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"You're always starving. You really need to cut down on the puffballs." Ezor said, poking at Zethrid's stomach, which was partly jiggly. Zethrid slapped her hand away.

"I will as soon as Silver Star stops making them so dang delicious!"

"Ever heard of self control, seems like you need it."

"Oh, bite me!"

"No thanks, I'm on a diet."

Lotor and Acxa rubbed their foreheads. A migraine was never too far behind when it came to these two. Thankfully, they knew a way to get them both to shut up. The two shared mischievous smirks and Acxa made the ship jolt roughly forward and fall on the floor, which made the two nearly fall off of their seats when Acxa adjusted their position.

"Oops. Sorry." Acxa teased.

"Should have worn your seatbelts." Lotor said and he and Acxa shared a fist bump. Ezor and Zethrid groaned as they sat back in their respected chairs.

"I think I liked you two better when you communicated through stoic stares." Zethrid said.

"Two for one then?" Acxa said with an excited glint in her eye as she readied to do it again. Ezor and Zethrid panicked and pleaded with her not to. They sat upright and were silent until they landed.

"I think we've got this parenting thing down." Acxa said.

"Indeed." Lotor nodded. Once the ship landed the group was welcomed with open arms. Allura excitedly ran up to Acxa, the two woman squealing with delight. Over the years as they had come to know one another they became as close as sisters, often sharing stories of their endeavors, Allura giving Acxa advice when dealing with new people, and teasing their respected lovers when they weren't looking. Not that they were very successful in keeping it a secret.

Acxa had blossomed from a hardened woman into a free spirit who wore her heart on her sleeve. She was no longer imprisoned by her own grief and now she was at long last free to spread her wings.

Lotor too was welcomed with smiles and hugs from his friends. Lance and Hunk were ecstatic to see him again, congratulating Lotor on his latest successful missions, asking how he was and if he was up for another game of Monsters and Mana later. Lance wasn't exaggerating when he said Lotor was popular with the kids. They came at him like a tsunami, knocking him down. Lotor laughed, their energy infectious. Leo and Carmen were especially pretty big fans of his, including Ember's triplets, bombarding him with all sorts of questions.

"How was the trip?" Keith asked after shaking Lotor's hand.

"Smooth, but also migraine inducing, as usual."

"Hey, that's kids for ya." Lance said, giving Lotor a pat on the back. "But it's good practice."

Keith made sure the other women weren't listening, Romelle had just arrived to greet Acxa and the others, and he whispered to Lotor. "Do you have it?"

Lotor nodded and Keith and Lance gave him a thumbs up. Shira and Regris arrived to see their Uncle Lotor. The young princess grew more beautiful with each passing year, mirroring her mother to a T. As for Regris, he carried the same strength in character as his father and grandfather before him, and from the looks of it he was already gaining a fair number of female admirers.

Finally, Romelle approached Lotor. He offered her his hand but instead she went in for the hug. After many years, the hatchet was buried for good between them. Romelle had long since accepted Lotor as a friend, and it was this action that inspired and liberated him even more.

(~)

The celebration continued all through the night. Friends old and new sharing and laughing as music played. The heroes gathered together for a private dinner in the garden. After eating the children played together. Shira, Regris and Valtor taught the young ones some fighting styles with fake swords, though they did have to make sure Crystal didn't play too roughly. Bandor played with Kosmo, who was now big enough to be ridden on like a small horse, and the mice braided Carmen's hair. Back at the table the adults exchanged stories with one another.

"Seriously, Earth has come a long way." Pidge said, "It's the second biggest hub for alien technology ever since Dad and I perfected the Teladuv technology."

"It's made trading and supply trips a lot easier and faster." Shiro said.

"Well, I for one don't mind going the long way." Hunk said, "I mean one of the best parts about being out on the road, er, space in this case, is you wind up in places you never would expect."

"I still can't believe, out of all of us, it was Mr. Play-It-Safe-Hunk Garret who became a drifter." Lance said.

"I prefer Spirited Chef who goes where the stars, and the empty stomachs, lead me."

"And trust me, there are a lot of empty stomachs out there." Silver Star said. "Plus people are so much easier to reason with when they're full."

"Tell me about it." Ember said, "I can't imagine how those meetings with rivaling dignitaries would have gone without Hunk's steamed salmon. This diplomacy thing is not as easy as you guys make it look." She nodded to her parents.

"Well, parents do have a way of making things look easy." Keith joked. The rest of the table laughed. They stopped for a moment to enjoy watching their children interacting with one another.

"The twins have grown up so fast." Coran said fondly.

"Seems like only yesterday we were changing their diapers, and now they're picking up a sword." Krolia said.

"A lot has changed these past fifteen years." Allura said, "But regardless of time and distance, never once did our bonds break. Looking around this table I see so many lives touched by Voltron. I don't know what the future holds for us but whatever it is I know we can all get through it... with hope."

"Speaking of the future." Lotor said as he rose from his chair. "There is something I need to say." This was enough to get the kids to stop playing and pay attention. Everyone was silent, though it was difficult for some of them (mainly Allura, Keith, Pidge, Lance, Hunk, Shiro and Romelle) to keep their excitement leveled.

Acxa gave Lotor a confused look when he stared at her, looking almost frightened. Was he about to say some bad news? Now? That wasn't like him. Her concerns melted away when Lotor got down on one knee.

"Acxa, we didn't meet in the most ideal of circumstances, and there was a time where you had every right to despise me and want nothing to do with me. But after everything we have been through I realized that despite all I have done the one constant in my life was you. I knew I could always rely on you as a second-in-command, but now I have come to rely on you as an equal partner. You made me into a better man and I can't imagine my life without you."

Acxa could hardly breathe when Lotor pulled out a tiny velvet box and inside was a ring with a stone identical to the one she wore around her neck. How he managed to find another stone she wasn't sure, but it did explain his solo missions a few months prior. He had been searching for one just for her. No one had ever done anything like this for her before, and only Lotor, steadfast, hard-working Lotor, would have that amount of determination to find one for her.

"I love you with all that I am. Will you marry me?"

Acxa had to get a grip on herself before answering. "Yes. Yes! Yes, yes, yes!" She pushed her chair away and kneeled down to hug her new fiancé. Everyone around the table cheered for the couple. Honerva was crying and Kova meowed happily. Her son was finally happy. He had found love again and now she was going to have a daughter, and maybe some grandchildren soon. This was a happy day for everyone. Even Dayak was crying, she hugged Coran tightly to the point his face nearly turned blue. She loosened her grip and Coran held her close.

Acxa was practically jumping up and down when Lotor placed the ring on her finger and the two kissed. "I love you, Lotor."

"I love you, Acxa."

Zethrid and Ezor squealed when they hugged Acxa and Lotor, congratulating the two. The kids cheered even louder for their Uncle Lotor and Aunt Acxa. Allura felt her heart would burst. She remembered how happy she was when Keith proposed to her, and after witnessing just how much these two had changed each other for the better she had no doubt that their lives together would be a happy one indeed. She knew Zarkon, Alfor and the Paladins of old were watching over them, smiling at all the joy and love that surrounded their loved ones now.

"I know what this calls for." Shira pulled out from her pocket a pair of shades. "Slav, give me a beat!"

(~)

Slav, dressed in DJ clothing and scratching vinyl, gave the Princess a salute.

"Alright! Let's kick off this finale 80s style!"

(When you love somebody Francesca Battistelli)

Music filled the air and everyone hurried to the dance floor, moving to an 80s style beat. The longmas danced in sync, led by Ember and her friends, moving their wings to reveal the heroes taking center stage.

Keith:

Life's been unkind to you

And you feel alone

Your world keeps turning but nobody knows

Allura:

One conversation

One "How are you?"

One simple moment could carry you through

Keith and Allura:

A little bit of kindness goes a long way

It can chase the hurt away

Bii-Boh-Bi gave his light crew the signal, cascading the ballroom in multicolored lights, even the floor lit up with various colors like those of a disco, complete with a disco ball. The six former paladins jumped onto the dance floor, singing and dancing in perfect sync.

Paladins:

That's what happens when you love somebody

When you put your whole heart in it

Pouring out what you've been given

It can change everything, everything

Everything, everything

When you love somebody

And you give it no conditions

See them through the Lion's vision

It can change everything, everything

Everything, everything

When you love somebody

Love somebody

Despite the old style music, the kids were dancing along. Shira and Regris weren't as familiar with old forms of music as Leo or Carmen were, so to them this was new. Shiro took Romelle's hands and led her onto the dance floor, holding her close for her to feel his movements so she could dance to the vibrations of the music.

Shiro:

Dead hearts start beating

Old walls fall down

Romelle:

Deep wounds start healing

When love reaches out

Lotor and Acxa danced alongside Honerva, and Kova jumped onto Acxa's shoulders. The feline purred lovingly against her face.

Honerva:

Blind eyes come open

New life can grow

Lotor:

Chains start breaking

Acxa:

Guilt and shame get

Lotor and Acxa:

Drowned by hope

Hunk danced alongside his chefs who came out of the kitchen pushing carts with food. Hunk, Shay and Crystal performed on a table while Silver Star, Celeste and Kolivan led the chefs through the room, tossing plates like frisbees which landed perfectly before the guests.

Everyone:

That's what happens when you love somebody

When you put your whole heart in it

Pouring out what you've been given

It can change everything, everything

Everything, everything

Lance and Pidge took to the dance floor, dancing together like they did years ago during the final Voltron Show. Lance's salsa dance lessons really paid off because Pidge moved as though her feet were made of fire.

When you love somebody

And you give it no conditions

See them through the Lion's vision

It can change everything, everything

Everything, everything

When you love somebody

Love somebody

Lotor, Acxa, Honerva, Zethrid, Ezor:

You saw

Through me

All my pain and my sins

Laid down you life and set me free

The former villain bowed before the heroes, and they took their hands and lifted them up. Their way of saying that if given the chance to save these lost souls again the heroes would do so.

Allura:

That's what happens when you love somebody

Everyone:

(A little bit of kindness goes a long way, long way, long way, long way)

Allura:

Ooh, oh, ooooh

Everyone:

(A little bit of kindness goes a long way, long way, long way, long way)

That's what happens when you love somebody

When you put your whole heart in it

Pouring out what you've been given

It can change everything, everything

Everything, everything

When you love somebody

And you give it no conditions

See them through the Lion's vision

It can change everything, everything

Everything, everything

When you love somebody

Love somebody

When you love somebody

Love somebody

(A little bit of kindness goes a long way, long way, long way, long way)

Love somebody, love somebody

(A little bit of kindness goes a long way, long way, long way, long way)

Love somebody

The song carried out all through the night, everyone basking in each other's company. Keith and Allura snuck away for a little bit to gaze up at the stars only to find six individual lights that stood out amongst all the others.

Purple, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, and in the center, White. Together they formed the constellation of a beautiful lion that roared with pride. The couple was soon joined by their children, Shira, Regris and Ember, along with her family, and Shiro's family, and Hunk's and Lance and Pidge with their children. Coran, Krolia, Honerva, Lotor, Acxa, and even the pets. Everyone bared witness to the Lion shimmering in the sky, and though they were far away they could hear the roars of their old friends, keeping their promise of watching over them for all time.

It had been a long and painful journey, but amidst the hardships they found hope. No matter how far apart the heroes may be, the spirit of Voltron kept them together. And when things became the most difficult, the Lions' stars shown more brightly for all of us who knew where to look.

And thus, the greatest story ever told began and ended...

With Love.

Then I saw "a new heaven and a new earth," for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Look! God's dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
