Rose woke up the next morning to the smell of bacon wafting upstairs. She crinkled up er nose and went downstairs, where Josie was sitting at the kitchen counter drawing, Jack was making breakfast, and the twins were each in their cribs downstairs. "Good morning, Mommy," Josie whispered.
"Good morning, darling," Rose answered. "Why are you whispering?"
"Because the babies are sleeping, and Daddy told me that if they wake up, you'll wake up," said Josie.
"Oh, well thank you both," said Rose. She kissed Josie's cheek, then kissed Jack. She looked over at the babies, who were asleep. "You really took care of everything this morning."
"Don't worry about it," said Jack. "It was my pleasure."
All of a sudden, Madeline started to cry, and Rose went to pick her up. Slowly, she settled and stopped crying. "Josie," said Rose. "Do you want to hold your baby sister?"
Josie gasped and her eyes widened. "Y-Yes please."
"Okay, come here," said Rose. She sat on the couch holding the baby, and Josie sat down next to her. She slowly placed the wrapped baby in Josie's little arms, and she put her arm around Josie.
"This is so cool," Josie said with a smile. Rose smiled and kissed the top of Josie's head. "Thank you, Mommy."
"Oh, darling," said Rose. "I'm just glad I could do this for you. She's going to love you so much."
"I already love her, and my baby brother," said Josie. "Did you pick out their names?"
"Yes," said Rose. "Do you want to tell her, Jack?" Rose looked around and found Jack sitting across from them, sketching. She giggled and called his name again.
"Well, we're going to call the boy Myles, and the girl Maddie, short for Madeline," said Jack.
Rose looked over at Josie. "Josie, darling, why are you crying?"
"She's just so cool!" Josie said.
"You know, darling," said Rose. "You looked just as cool when you were a baby."
Josie smiled. "Really?"
"Yes," said Jack. "I'll show you some pictures later."

It was a week later. Emma and Ben came over for breakfast. They met the babies, and everyone was sitting at the table. "Is it hot in here?" Jack asked.
"I don't think so," said Rose. "Are you warm?"
"Yeah," said Jack, unbuttoning the top button of this shirt. "I'm going to adjust the temperature in here."
Jack stood up, and Jack collapsed. His eyes rolled back and he fell on the floor. "Jack!" Rose shouted. She knelt down next to Jack and cried. She put her hand against his neck to feel for a pulse. "Call 911!" Rose yelled at Emma.
"Already done," said Emma. "When the ambulance comes, you go with him, and I'll stay with the kids."
"Thank you," Rose cried. "Ben, can you please just go upstairs and make sure Josie doesn't come down?"
"Of course," said Ben. He ran upstairs to Josie, and Emma knelt down next to Rose.
"Rose, do you know what happened?" Emma asked.
"N-No, he never complained about anything before," she cried. "Oh my god, what happened to him?"
"I don't know, but the doctors will figure it out, okay?" Emma comforted her. Finally, there was a pounding at the door, and Emma went to open it.
The paramedics rushed inside and put Jack on the stretcher. They asked Rose a lot of questions, but she didn't know anything. "Mrs. Dawson, would you like to come in the ambulance?"
Rose hesitated and turned to Emma. "Josie worries about everything, so just tell her that Jack wasn't feeling well and I took her to the doctor. Make sure she doesn't worry. And if she does, just give her ice cream. It distracts her."
"Okay, Rose-" Emma began before Rose interrupted her.
"And the twins shouldn't be hungry, but if they are, there's a bottle in the fridge, and diapers are in the bathroom closet."
"Rose, you have to go! Ben and I will figure it out, don't worry!" Emma said, and she lightly pushed Rose out the door and into the ambulance.
"Please call me as soon as you hear anything, okay?"
Rose sighed. "Of course." She took the paramedic's hand and climbed into the ambulance. She sat down and took Jack's hand. She moved closer to his ear. "I love you. Please be okay, please be okay," she whispered as she cried.
Finally, they arrived at the hospital. The doctors asked Rose a lot of questions, and Rose answered them as well as she could. "Just… please help him!" They wheeled Jack away, and Rose dropped to her knees and cried. Finally, she felt warm arms around her.
Rose turned around and saw a familiar face - Cal's face.
A/N: PLEASE READ! Okay, so here's the deal. I have about two chapters written after this one, and I have absolutely no ideas. So, now I'm doing something that people don't often do on this site: I'm asking for help.
If anyone has any recommendations about what I should put next in the story, please PM (private message) me. If I use your recommendation, I will let you name the next character I add to the story. Thank you so much in advance.
