It was a sight to behold...and it reminded me of home. Twenty shield maidens from across the Riddermark arrived at the front gates of Gondor. They had yet to be outfitted in full amazonian garb, but being headed by their already such adorned chieftain Eowyn made that sweeping visual fit into my mind that more readily. Already the best riders middle earth had ever seen this would give them an early and formidable advantage; along with that of general weapons expertise. In time, with the grace of the gods, they would become the superhuman defenders that all of Arda needed following the destructive ring war (they too would wear the magical bracelets/lasso in time).

At the head of the small host of female horse lords Eowyn held up a closed fist and stopped her horse; in perfect synchronicity they did the same. There Queen Arwen and her lords were there to greet them. Eowyn dismounted stepped up to the queen removed her helmet and bowed. "My queen, these are the first of the Amazons of Arda to have arrived; more are yet to come." "Excellent. Welcome to Minas Tirith all of you. Be assured, you have the full welcome of the crown. We look forward to working with you in the future." Faramir saw Eowyn truly for the first time as she now was. He'd likely heard of her changes by now, but they were only most striking when viewed directly.

Eowyn/her amazons bowed then they came over to me. To my surprise...they all went to a knee and shouted out, "Hail mighty Diana - heiress of Zeus, goddess of truth and savior of creation! Hail!" Everyone was stunned; including myself. Word had gotten around faster than Pegasus about my defeating Morgoth and the other evils that had occurred since the ring war's ending. That had to be Eowyn's doing; the love and admiration in her eyes for me was ever there; literal hero worship on steroids. Legolas, though surprised, didn't take it negatively. He was proud of us both. Still, it wasn't appropriate. This was where my being Olympian...could become a tricky matter...for I too could be worshiped like any of the other gods. But the gods hadn't required worship in centuries; father had changed that. And I surely didn't want to take us back to those cruel days of ancient Greece...

I bowed to them in gratitude instead of making it a negative encounter; the Gondorian crown was the only true authority here. "Thank you, my sister amazons. You do me a great honor. You will become an integral feature of both Gondor and the world beyond. There is still great evil out there to be dealt with..." This was where I had to get it back where it needed to be. "But only by working with the crown of Gondor can that best be done. I am a simple amazon like any of you; nothing more." Eowyn's eyes screamed disagreement, but she kept it to herself. "Lady Eowyn is now your chieftain; the king and queen of Gondor your ultimate sovereigns. Only through these bonds of wisdom and truth can we rebuild the world as the king declared at his crowning. Rise, sisters, and serve Arda with honor."

There was a darker truth here. The amazons were willing to make me queen of the world; and their goddess. It was implied right here in their faces...in their unveiled adoration of me. By introducing the amazon way to them I'd introduced revolution... We had to be very careful now. Brother could exploit this too if not careful.

Arwen and I shared a look; she had the same concerns that I did - and this was all still with a cursed/comatose king whose rule/credibility was eroding by the day - and being destroyed from the inside out. The new Arda amazons must not become a new faction/enemy of the state. It must not!
