Chapter 33

.

As Gary was helping Leita Rose prepare for the storm he got an unexpected call. It was from sheriff Duncan, whom he still partly suspected of being involved in the cover-up.

.

Gary: Sheriff Duncan, how can I help you?

Duncan: Are you still in Sanctuary?

Gary: Till after the storm passes.

Duncan: Me and my deputies are short-staffed, we need help at the hospital. Depending how bad the hospital gets hit, there's always the chance that some will try and loot the drugs. It would help having some more law enforcement deputies to help guard it.

.

Gary thought about this. He still believed that there could be a cover-up. Sheriff Duncan might be involved, or at least some of his deputies. If Samantha Larabee realy committed suicide with a gun, then one of the deputies was either incompatent enough to miss this gun, or possibly corrupt enough to take a bribe. Still, Duncan wasn't wrong when he said that the storm could hit the hospital, no way to know for certain how bad it would be hit. There was the distinct possibility of lotters stealing drugs. Whatever else the sheriff was involved in, he did genuinly care about the people of his town. Gary decided to help guard the hospital during the storm.
