Chapter 30: Jason
We all run to the lab, although we are all out of breath. We finally got there, and threw the door open. All around us are beakers, and different supplies, for nerds, I evil people.
"C-caw," Lightning coos softly. He's limping.
" Look. Is someone in that chair?" I ask, noticing a person hunched over a drawing table.
" Hello boys."
Vulagur.
" You.''I spit out like poison.
"Like the toad; ugly and venomous." Ru whispers.
He's right. Except for the ugly part. Vulagur is like one of those beach boys girls are always flirting with, like the popular kid at my school, Alex Kelly. Alex is truly trash on the inside, though on the outside, he's flirt-material. Yes, I am jealous of him. But not anymore. Because I found Noel.
" Oh. Hi there, Ru, Lightning.I hear you've been skipping obedience school. Tut, tut."
Ru and Lightning's eyes bugged out. "HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT!?" "CAW CAW CAW!?"
" I know everything." Vulagur smiles viciously.
" Do you know what I'm about to do? Huh?" I say.
" No, I do not. Would you like to tell me?"
" Here, I'll let you figure it out right about...now." As I say now, I reach to the table nearest to me, and grab the syringe that I recognize as the paralyzing serum. Then I lunge toward Vulagar, and stick the needle into his neck. He gaps, then I can see his body go limp. If only that was the real death serum.
" Let's go!" Ru is just stupidly staring at me.
"Quick! Search the shelves! Look for the right potion to save them! Remember, the cuties?"
Ru finally snaps to life. "Oh! Yeah!"
Luckily, Lightning already found it on Shelf 4, cawing to get our attention.
But Vulagur was too quick and threw another potion at Lightning, aimed at his heart.
"NOOOO!" I dived and slapped the potion back at Vulagur, who was hit in the leg.
"Auggh!" he wailed. "That potion was a deadly one! Wherever it's hit, the muscles and bones there die off!" Then he is knocked out from the paralyzing serum.
Lightning looks at me gratefully and paws over the potion.
I dumped it over the statues of Noel and Holly.
The statues started shimmering to a gold color, and then began wiggling, then smiling, and lastly getting bigger.
I smiled. They were back.
