Bianca waited outside of the Nimbasa gym. She watched people enjoying themselves at the theme park surrounding the gym. Snivy snoozed peacefully in her arms. She knew Cheren was inside the gym. She saw him go in. She wondered what Cheren would say to her. He'd probably be just as mad as Kenya was. Rightfully so. Bianca had just given her father's words weight. She had no strength, no determination. She'd never make it anywhere on her own. She started walking away from the gym. She left the theme park and kept walking. Soon, she'd left Nimbasa altogether. She found herself back in the desert resort. Jerry wasn't there. There was only one person there. He was standing by the statues. Alder. The champion of the Unova region. Bianca kept her distance. She sat down where Jerry normally did. Alder looked over at her. He was carrying a bouquet and an egg. He approached Bianca. Bianca lowered her head.

"I asked everyone to leave," Alder said. He stood over Bianca, frowning.

"I'm sorry." Alder waited for a moment, watching Bianca. "Those flowers. Who are they for?"

"I guess you aren't going anywhere." Alder sat down beside Bianca. "What's your deal? Why do you look so glum?"

"My friend got kidnapped."

"By who?"

"A bunch of bikers. I couldn't… I didn't do anything. I just watched." Bianca's eyes started to water. Snivy stirred in its sleep. Alder set the flowers down.

"The flowers. They're for a pokemon. A friend I lost a long time ago."

"That's horrible." Bianca looked at the flowers. Alder smiled softly.

"I met him here, so many years ago." Alder set the egg down. "I'm supposed to be the strongest trainer in Unova, you know." Bianca nodded. "I can't fight your battle for you. I can at least offer my help."

"Help?" Alder picked up the egg and set it down in front of Bianca. She stared at the egg. Alder picked up his flowers and walked away, heading back to the statues.

Druddigon collapsed with a grunt. Krokorok hopped on top of Druddigon's back, tapping its foot. threateningly. The arena was inside a mine under the gym. Clay shook his head.

"It's durable. I suppose that's a quality." He tipped his hat. "Your pokemon makes an amusing punching bag."

"Druddigon get up!" Kenya yelled. "Fight back!" Clay chuckled.

"Take a good look, brat. Your pokemon doesn't stand a chance. Krokorok is my newest pokemon. I hatched her a few weeks ago. She's an aggressive one. I'm a little hesitant to use her in gym battles." Krokorok hopped off of Druddigon, growling. "How long have you had that Druddigon of yours? It's pitiful to watch." Druddigon struggled to get up. "The only damage you've done to Krokorok was with rough skin."

"You don't know anything."

"Right." Clay crossed his arms. "The amateur tells the professional how little he knows. Tell me. Do you have any other pokemon?" Kenya hesitated. Clay specialized in ground type pokemon, Darumaka couldn't put up a fight." She noticed Druddigon staring at her.

"Hyper beam!" Druddigon roared, firing a white laser at Krokorok. Krokorok moved out of the way and rushed at Druddigon.

"What a useless move." Krokorok leaped, kicking Druddigon. Druddigon immediately collapsed. "Why would you have it learn something like that?"

"Shut up."

"Krokorok. Finish that thing off." Clay paused. "Oh. I see." Druddigon was already knocked out. Kenya returned Druddigon. "Get out." Kenya sent out Darumaka.

"You're going to tell me where Black Empoleon is." Clay frowned.

"Krokorok. Make this quick."
