Mr Darcy My Saviour
Last time: Back to their family and their new life as Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy.
Chapter 31
It had been a few days of rest for Darcy and Elizabeth, following their arrival back at Pemberley. In that time, Darcy and Elizabeth spent their days getting to know each other better. They began asking questions that they had never thought to ask before. The time helped draw them closer together. Then, when night came peaking over the horizon, Darcy and Elizabeth explored their relationship even further. They were fast becoming experts on what their partner liked or disliked. They moved as one and they fell even more in love each time they watched each other's eyes. They waltzed almost every night as well before they went to bed. Finding an intimacy in the dance that they had never experienced before. They finally felt at peace.
On the fifth day after their arrival, Darcy and Elizabeth received two letters informing them of Mr. Bingley and the Bennets arrival on the sixth day. Elizabeth was excited to see her family again and she could not help the niggling hope, that began to bloom in her chest, that the reason Mr. Bingley was coming as well meant that there was a wedding soon to be had. How she hoped this was true. Only time would tell.
Her family arrived with as much fan fair as a travelling circus. They were a wild mess of ribbons, tears and bone crushing hugs. Jane was as beautiful as ever but seemed to have a glow about her that Elizabeth had never seen before. She felt that niggling hope rearing its head again within her chest.
Mary seemed to have bloomed since the last time Elizabeth saw her and seemed to have come out of her shell a bit more. Though she did still prefer her books and the bible to talking. It gladdened Elizabeth's heart to see her so.
Kitty was pleased to see her sister again and Elizabeth could not help but feel the same. She had missed her sisters more than anything. Kitty seemed to be slightly fuller in appearance since the last time Elizabeth saw her and she could not help but notice how much of a beauty she was fast becoming.
Lydia was… well Lydia was Lydia. She was bounding off the walls with excitement and fighting with Kitty, who seemed less interested in the disagreements, and just gushing over every little detail laid before her eyes in their home. Elizabeth was growing used to hearing her gleeful shouts of "How beautiful is this?" or "How big is this house?" Elizabeth felt her fondness for her little sister grow more and more.
Her mother was happy to see Darcy and Elizabeth again and to Elizabeth's eye, she seemed a lot more relaxed than the last time she saw her. By the glint in her father's eyes, Elizabeth expected he had a lot to do with that.
Her father… Well her father was pretty much the same. With an added bounce in his step than was usual for him. He seemed happy and at peace. That was more than Elizabeth could ask for and he seemed more than happy to see his second daughter again.
Overall, her family seemed to be in better spirits than when she last saw them. It gladdened her heart immensely.
It was past noon when they finally revealed the reason for their visit. They were sitting in the parlour catching up and regaling them with tales of Elizabeth and Darcy's adventures in Italy and the incident with Heralds. Mrs. Bennet had another fit of the vapours and Elizabeth decided not to mention the fact that she killed the man. That would send her mother into another fit.
"Not that I do not love you all, can I ask what the reason is for this… impromptu visit?" Elizabeth asked, fondly.
"Do we have to have a reason for visiting one of our daughters?" Mr. Bennet teased.
"No, of course not. It is just that with my family there is always a reason." Elizabeth teased back.
The Bennets looked sheepish and Elizabeth, Darcy and Mr. Bingley all laughed. "I will take that as there is a reason behind this visit and not just because you wanted to visit your daughter and sister." Elizabeth joked.
"Of course, there is. It would not be your mother if there was not an ulterior motive in us coming here." Mr. Bennet teased his wife.
"You scoundrel! I will have you know that it was your father's idea to come here as a family. I suggested we would invite you down to Longbourn." Mrs. Bennet seethed.
"It is true that I am a scoundrel, but you love me all the same." Mr. Bennet laughed. Mrs. Bennet looked at him with a raised eyebrow and an unimpressed face. Then she smiled and laughed at his antics.
"I think that those sentiments may be up for revision." Mrs. Bennet teased and then turned to Elizabeth. "This is beside the point. Jane here," Mrs. Bennet gestures to Jane. "has some news to share with you both." Mrs. Bennet admitted.
Elizabeth turns to her sister and wait for her to speak. Jane blushed and looked at her hands. Elizabeth moved and sat next to her sister, holding her hand. "What is it, Jane?" Elizabeth asked, softly.
"Mr. Bingley and I," Jane paused and took a deep breath. Here it comes, Elizabeth thought with a grin. "Are getting married." She finally admits.
Elizabeth squealed and hugged her sister to her chest. Darcy went to Mr Bingley and shook his hand, congratulating him. "Congratulations Jane, I am so happy for you." Elizabeth said and kissed her sister's cheek. She then went to Mr. Bingley and welcomed him to the family.
Darcy approached Miss Bennet and offered her his congratulations, "Congratulations to you Miss Bennet. I wish, for you both, many years of happiness." Darcy kissed her hand.
"Thank you, Mr. Darcy. It means so much to Mr. Bingley that you approve of the match. Also, please call me by my name. You are, after all, married to my dear sister. I feel that gives you reason enough to call me Jane." Jane blushed.
Darcy chuckled and nodded, "If you would show me the same courtesy in return. Of course, I would approve of the match." Darcy beamed, "Somebody has to keep Bingley in his place and I am more than certain that you are that person." Darcy teased. Bingley shoved his friend amicably and the family dissolved into laughter at their antics.
"Have the banns been announced yet at church?" Elizabeth asked her sister.
Jane shook her head, "We decided to wait until your return before posting them. We wanted to tell you the news before you heard it from somebody else." Elizabeth smiled at her sister and pulled her into a tight hug.
"I took it upon myself to send a missive to the Clergy and hopefully, the banns shall be announced as soon as you both meet with Father Chisolm." Mr. Bennet announced, unexpectedly.
Mrs. Bennet turned to her husband with a frown, "When, my dear husband, did you do that?"
Jane looked at her father with a small smile on her face and her perfect eyebrow raised. Mr. Bennet cleared his throat, clearly embarrassed. "I may have written the missive once we heard that Elizabeth and Mr Darcy were returning home." Mr. Bennet admitted.
Jane giggled and Mr. Bingley clapped his father in law on the shoulder with a loud guffaw. Jane got up and embraced her embarrassed father with glee. "Thank you, father."
Mr. Bennet waved away the thanks and turned a sheepish smile unto his wife. "I do apologise, Mrs. Bennet. I should have told you."
Mrs. Bennet glared at her husband. "You are certainly right on that point, Mr. Bennet." Mr. Bennet's face held a look of chastisement. Mrs. Bennet's glare gave way to a beaming smile. "But I will forgive you, you silly fool." Mr. Bennet laughed along with his scheming wife.
The family spend the evening talking about nonsensical things. All evening, the only things that could be heard from the drawing room were gales of laughter. It lifted the spirits of the staff that heard them.
Three months later…
The time that had passed since Jane and Bingley's announcement, had been rather difficult but altogether rewarding for Elizabeth and Darcy. They had gradually got used to their new lives a Pemberley. Elizabeth had been learning how to be the wife of a wealthy gentleman and Darcy had been learning how to juggle his work and his marriage. They had finally settled into a routine that worked the best for them both. They spent almost all of their free time together and were seemingly more in love every day.
Two weeks before their wedding; Jane and Bingley, as well as Mrs. Bennet, had been at Pemberley visiting Elizabeth and Darcy. Jane and Bingley's wedding was only a few short weeks away and the excitement felt by the family was palpable. Elizabeth, Mrs. Bennet and Jane spent the time together discussing the marriage bed and what married life was like. Mrs. Bennet and Elizabeth were trying to ready Jane for what her life was about to become. Jane had been more than willing to learn what she needed to know as she had admitted to them that she was scared. After their long discussions, Jane finally felt as though she was ready for whatever was to come.
The night before their departure, Elizabeth had asked Jane and Bingley where they were planning to visit after the wedding. Jane had been the one to answer, "I think we were planning to spend some time with each other at Netherfield." Bingley nodded in agreement with his soon to be bride.
Elizabeth smiled, however; inside, she was thinking of her talk with Darcy the previous night. They had both been discussing their new house in Italy when Elizabeth had the idea of offering Jane and Mr Bingley the house for their honeymoon. Darcy had agreed wholeheartedly and promised to speak to Bingley about it. Elizabeth looked pointedly at her husband and saw his slight flush. He had forgotten. The guilt was written all over his face. Elizabeth knew not to bring the matter up unless Darcy allowed it so she merely kept quiet, listening to her sister and future brother in law talk about how they had broken the news to Miss Caroline Bingley and Mrs. Louisa Hurst. Apparently, they had not been happy at all. However, when Bingley had revealed to his sisters that Darcy had celebrated the match, Miss Bingley soon changed her tune.
Elizabeth rolled her eyes heavenward. Would that woman ever get over her infatuation with Darcy? Elizabeth was not sure that she would.
Before dinner that evening, Darcy asked if Bingley and Jane would join him in his study. Elizabeth was sure it was to offer them the use of their house in Italy. Elizabeth was even more convinced when her older sister came rushing into her antechamber with a gush of excitement. Her continual 'thank you's made Elizabeth laugh. At the end of the day, it was the least that her and Darcy could do. However, she was glad that it brought her sister such joy.
Dinner that night had been a quiet affair and passed by unobtrusively. All too soon, the morning came and it was time for Elizabeth and Darcy to say goodbye to Pemberley and their life that they had built there. Even if it was only for three weeks, Elizabeth knew she would miss their little bubble. Darcy admitted that he would as well but that they would soon return to it once Jane and Bingley were married.
The journey had been arduous and they were all relieved when they alighted from the carriage outside of Longbourn house. The hour was late when they finally arrived; thus, they were only greeted by Mr Bennet upon their arrival, who had been waiting up for his family's safe return. After promising to come back the next day, Elizabeth, Darcy and Bingley bid farewell to their companions and soon departed for Netherfield House.
In the days leading up to the wedding, Elizabeth spent her time with her family. She went with Jane to try on her wedding gown and helped her mother and sisters arrange flowers and decide on small decorations for Netherfield House. She barely had any time to spend with her husband. Elizabeth was either with her family or in bed sleeping after rough bouts of sickness. She found she was hungrier than was normal and that her body was displaying subtle changes which were invisible to the naked eye. Elizabeth knew what it meant, or at least she hoped she did.
After a secret visit from the doctor, Elizabeth's hopes were confirmed. Elizabeth was having a child. She had decided that she wanted to keep it secret for a while. The doctor had put the pregnancy at three weeks and five days. Elizabeth wanted to wait until she was 4 weeks before she broke the news to Darcy. That would be the day of Jane's wedding and at least then she knew that she wouldn't be stealing the light from her sister's wedding. She wanted Jane to have the best day of her life. The news could wait. Elizabeth also was not sure she wanted to share the news yet. She wanted it to be her secret for a little while longer. She knew it was selfish but she needed the comfort of knowing the knowledge of the baby was protected even if it was for two short days.
The evening before the wedding, Elizabeth moved herself into Jane's room for the night. For support as well as being prepared to help her to get ready for the wedding in the morning. Elizabeth and Jane spent time that evening discussing the wedding and what it was that Jane was worried about.
"The only thing that worries me is the wedding night. The thought of the marriage bed makes me weak in the knees." Elizabeth giggled and Jane soon joined her. "In a way, I am looking forward to getting to Charles in a new way. However, does the first time hurt the whole time or will it be a small pinch that will soon fade? This is what keeps me up at night." Jane confessed with a small blush.
Elizabeth looked down at the pillow that was between them and swallowed. She had no way of comforting her sister, for her first time had been ripped away from her and her husband. There was not a day that went by that Elizabeth did not rue the day she had met… him. He had ruined so much of Elizabeth's life that she sometimes found it hard to think. He would always be apart of her life. No matter how much time passes, Elizabeth could still feel him. Sometimes when she was not expecting it. She could be reading a book in the study and a memory could seep in through the cracks and cause Elizabeth to freeze up. Darcy tried hard to help her in those moments but there was always a barrier between them; the barrier of understanding. Darcy would never know how much the man had taken from Elizabeth. He would never understand the pain she experienced when she was alone. She tried her hardest not to let him in. However, it seemed that even though he was dead, his memory would always haunt her. His touch. His smell. His voice. She had no escape and that was what pained her the most.
Elizabeth felt wetness on her cheek. The wetness created by tears. God damn him. Elizabeth startled when a soft hand wiped away her tears.
"What is it, Lizzie?" Jane asked as she moved herself closer to her younger sister. Jane hated seeing her strongest sister cry. It was an anomaly to say the least and when it happened, it broke Jane's heart.
Elizabeth frowned and cuddled into her sister's side. "I cannot offer you any reassurances because I never experienced it." Elizabeth remarked. "I thank God every day that neither you or our sisters will ever experience what I have. No woman or child deserves to have their lives ruined in such a degrading way." Elizabeth's pained expression rose to look into her sister's sad eyes. "All I know is that Mr. Bingley is a good man and will never hurt you. Not willingly. There is also the time that I overheard some of the maids discussing their first times with their husbands." Elizabeth admitted with a pained smile.
"They were in the dining room discussing Mary's wedding night and the married maids were discussing how odd they found it that Mary had enjoyed her first time." Elizabeth giggled with the memory. Jane watched her sister with humour dancing in her eyes. "I was only thirteen summers so it was certainly not a conversation I should have been listening to." Elizabeth laughed again at Jane's shocked gasp. This time, her laugh dispelled the look of sadness that had remained in her eyes. Jane felt relief begin to seep into her heart at the sight. "They all had a differing of opinion when it came to how the wedding night should have been. Some had even speculated afterwards that Mary had not been the virgin she was portraying herself to be." Elizabeth admitted. "However, it did not matter what the case was, Mary had admitted that she felt almost no pain." A teasing glint came into Elizabeth's eyes. "She did admit that her husband was quite experienced in the marriage bed, however. I feel that, that may have had something to do with it."
Jane laughed in merriment at her sister's antics. "Was there a point to that story?" Jane asked her sister in jest.
"All I am trying to convey, is that everyone has different experiences. No one can say for sure what it will be like for somebody else, other than what it was like for them." Elizabeth explained. "The only advice I can give is that you go in not expecting anything and just let it happen. The pain is only felt once, if there is any at all. You just need to know that your husband will care for you enough that he will make it as quick and as painless as possible." Elizabeth smiled softly at her sister. Jane felt her mind settle with the knowledge that Elizabeth parted with.
Jane looked down at her hand that was over Elizabeth's and frowned. "One day, when you are ready, will you tell me about what happened with Mr. Heralds?" Elizabeth froze. "I only ask because I feel it is something that you need to get off of your chest." Jane hurried to explain.
"One day, when I am ready, I promise you that I will." Elizabeth vowed and gave her sister's hand a squeeze. Her eyes quickly lit up as she remembered her secret that she was carrying. Elizabeth knew it was only right that she tells her husband first but after the evening Jane and her had shared, she felt it was only right that they be given some happiness to think on. "I have a secret to share with you. I have not told anyone this. Not even my husband but I want to share it with you because I feel we need some cheering up at this moment." Elizabeth beamed and saw the look of patient curiosity cross her sister's features.
"What is it?" Jane asked.
Elizabeth took hold of Jane's hand and placed it over her stomach. Jane's eyes grew round and a gasp left her lips as she realised what Elizabeth was telling her. "I am with child." Elizabeth's beam grew brighter as her sister let out a small squeal of happiness and threw her arms around Elizabeth.
"I am so happy for you, sister." Jane exclaimed.
"Thank you, but you have to promise me you will keep the secret until I have told Darcy." Elizabeth warned Jane.
Jane nodded with a bright smile on her face. "I promise. You deserve to have something happy in your life, other than your marriage of course." Jane tugged her sister in for another hug.
"We better get to sleep. Some one has a big day tomorrow." Elizabeth announced after they pulled apart. Jane agreed with her sister and they both settled down to sleep. Jane dreamed of her wedding and Elizabeth dreamed of the happy future that was coming her way in nine short months.
The Wedding…
Morning broke through the shutters of Jane's windows and woke Elizabeth from her pleasant dreams. She had been dreaming of Darcy holding their little one and reading to them. Happiness had been so predominant in that dream that she had hated waking from it. However, she knew she needed to get her oldest sister ready for her big day. With this in mind, Elizabeth got herself up and called for the maids to begin setting up a bath for her resting sister and herself.
Once the maids had set up the bath, Elizabeth turned to look at her slumbering sister. She hated having to wake her but time was getting on and the wedding would soon be upon them. With this thought in mind, Elizabeth gently stroked Jane's face. Jane began to stir.
"Good morning, I had the maids set up a bath for us." Elizabeth said as soon as Jane had fully woken up.
"Thank you," Jane murmured and got up from the bed. Jane had a look over the scents that the maids had brought in and finally settled on lavender oil. Once the oil had been added to the bath, Jane lowered herself in the welcome heat. Elizabeth strode over to the bath once Jane had dunked her head under the water. She began helping Jane to wash her hair, making sure that she smelt like a meadow by the time she was done. Elizabeth soon found herself sinking into the bath after Jane had vacated. One of the maids helped Elizabeth to wash her hair and one helped Jane begin to get herself ready. When Elizabeth had exited the bath, Jane was having her hair expertly twisted into a braided knot on the back of her head. Curls adorned her face and beads were twisted in to the braids that worked their way from the sides of Jane's head to the back. Her face was still rosy after her bath and her eyes were glowing with happiness and excitement. In that moment, Jane looked ten years younger.
There was a soft knock on the door and after Jane called, "Come in," the door opened to admit their mother. Mrs. Bennet was dressed in a light green muslin dress which was accentuated with small embroidered green leaves across the whole length of the gown. She had a dark green overcoat on that cut off at the beginning of her abdomen. Her hair was hidden beneath a green velvet bonnet.
"Good morning Mother," Jane and Elizabeth said when they saw their mother enter the room.
"Good Morning, my beautiful girls." Mrs Bennet sang and stopped. Mrs Bennet shakes out her handkerchief and begins drying her eyes when she sees Jane.
Elizabeth returns to getting dressed, hoping to give their mother and her sister some privacy. Elizabeth decided to put on her dress before doing her hair, that way she would not have to manoeuvre the dress over her hair or up her body. The dress Elizabeth had decided to wear was a light peach colour with darker embroidered flowers adorning the bodice. She wore an overcoat on top that, similar to her mothers, cut off at the beginning of her abdomen. She sat herself down in a chair and slipped her feet into some peach coloured slippers. The maid that had been attending to Jane, walked over and began twisting Elizabeth's hair.
Elizabeth saw Jane rise to her feet out of the corner of her eye. Mrs. Bennet, as well as the other maid, began helping Jane into her cream gown. The underdress was what gave the dress its cream colour. The dress was made with lutestring and flowed nicely to the floor. The underdress was then topped with an embroidered gauze that was ruffled at the arms. The gown as a whole made Jane look ethereal as well as beautiful. Her slippers were cream and a bonnet was placed over her hair. From the bonnet hung her veil. When Jane was fully dressed, Elizabeth turned to look at her sister fully and began to tear up.
"You are the most stunning woman, I have ever met." Elizabeth gushed. Jane blushed and beamed as bright as the sun. When Elizabeth's hair was finished, she walked over to her mother and sister and urged them to look in the mirror. Elizabeth's hair had been twisted around a white ribbon and pearl flowers. Rather than having her hair placed in a knot, the maid had placed it in a partial bun and let the rest of her hair hang in ringlets. The three of the smiled and Elizabeth looked at her family with awe.
"Two beautiful, strong and compassionate women." Mrs. Bennet murmured with her handkerchief pressed to her face.
"Make that three, Mama. We had to get our beauty and strength from someone." Elizabeth smiled at her mother, who had begun crying even more with Elizabeth's declaration. Mrs. Bennet quickly excused herself from the room and Jane and Elizabeth were left alone.
"Ready?" Jane asked Elizabeth.
"I am ready but, more to the point, are you ready?" Elizabeth asked, clasping her sister's hand. "I am not the one getting married." Elizabeth teased.
Jane looked at her reflection once more and nodded. With that, Jane and Elizabeth left the room. Elizabeth met with Darcy outside of the church and greeted him with a kiss. Elizabeth could tell something had happened by the way Darcy clung to her but he had refused to tell her until they were alone. Elizabeth decided that she would not dwell on it because she wanted to enjoy the day and she knew Darcy would tell her later. The day passed quite quickly after that.
After the ceremony, the guests joined the couple at their home for the wedding day meal. The room was alive with chattering and music, Elizabeth felt the feeling roll across her skin like a current. Jane and Bingley were talking quietly amongst themselves and Elizabeth smiled at them. They looked so happy and it brought happiness to Elizabeth to see them so in love.
After the meal was completed, the guests were urged to retire to the ballroom so that the celebrations could begin in earnest. Darcy disappeared sometime between the bride and groom's first dance, which everyone joined in for halfway through, and the next set of dancing. Elizabeth frowned and looked around for him but could not find him. She hoped he was alright. He had been distant all morning.
Making her way through the crowded room, Elizabeth came into a corner where she found her father hiding. "Father, why are you hiding in the corner?" Elizabeth asked.
"I am hiding from your mother. She wants to dance and you know how I abhor dancing." Elizabeth laughed at her father's antics. "If you are looking for Darcy, he went into Bingley's study. He has been in there for a while. Is everything alright?" Her father asked.
"I am not sure Papa. He has been distant all morning. I am truly worried about him." Elizabeth admitted.
Mr. Bennet frowned, "I would go and find him, darling. He may need you." Mr. Bennet's face turned from concern to dread as his eyes settled on something behind Elizabeth. "Oh no, she found me." Mr. Bennet quickly began to manoeuvre himself behind his daughter, trying to hide himself from her mother. Elizabeth laughed once again.
Mrs. Bennet arrived and placed her hands over her hips. "There is no use in hiding behind our daughter, Mr. Bennet. You promised me a dance and I am going to have it. Now, come over here." Mrs. Bennet called.
Mr. Bennet straightened his spine and turned to his wife. "For you my love, anything. Remember what I said Elizabeth." As Mrs. Bennet dragged her father away, Mr. Bennet turned back to her with a pleading glance. Elizabeth laughed and shook her head. Mr. Bennet shook his head too and begun dancing with his wife.
Elizabeth watched her parents for a moment before remembering that she had been looking for her runaway husband. Elizabeth once more made her way through the crowds to get to Bingley's study. Elizabeth opened the door without knocking and entered the room. Darcy was facing the huge window that looked out over the park. Elizabeth frowned when she saw the amber glow of whisky in his hand. "Darcy?" Elizabeth murmured as she made her way over to him and plastered herself to his back. Darcy relaxed into Elizabeth's arms.
"I missed you. Is everything well?" Elizabeth asked, concerned.
"She is dead." Darcy stated, voice filled with anguish and sadness. "My aunt is gone." Elizabeth gasped at the news and hugged Darcy even tighter.
"I am so sorry, Darcy." Elizabeth felt sadness for her husband settle in her chest. He had loved his aunt, even if she had tried to get rid of Elizabeth.
"According to Anne, it was an attack of the heart. She said it took her almost instantly and that she felt no pain." Darcy turned in Elizabeth's arms and hugged her to him, tightly. "I know she did you so many wrongs but she was still my aunt. The last link I had to my parents. I loved her despite how wicked she could be. I just wish she had not aligned herself with him. If she had not, I am sure that I could have forgiven her in time. In a way, she reaped what she sowed. Anne's words, not my own. I find that I have to agree with her." Darcy explained.
"Do not ever apologise to me about feeling sad over losing a family member. She may not have been good to me but she had only been trying to look out for you. She had your best interests at heart. I can understand why she did what she did and I forgive her. Just like you should." Elizabeth urged her husband.
Darcy sighed and clung to Elizabeth more. After a few moments of silence, Darcy's voice broke through it; small and very, very tired. "Tell me something good. I need to hear something good." Darcy murmured.
Elizabeth paused and wondered if now was the time to tell Darcy of their child. She wanted to tell him so badly but she was scared that he may not be very welcoming of the news at this moment. After a moment of thinking about it, Elizabeth thought to hell with it and decided to tell him.
"I am with child," Elizabeth murmured into Darcy's chest. Elizabeth felt his body grow ridged and Elizabeth felt regret seep into her body as Darcy began to pull away from her.
However, when she looked into his eyes, all she could see was pure joy. "Honestly?" He asked with baited breath. When Elizabeth nodded with a small smile, Darcy picked her up and spun her around in a circle. Elizabeth giggled and Darcy placed her back onto the floor. He locked their lips into a searing kiss that stole Elizabeth's breath. Darcy pulled away and placed his hand on her stomach. "How far along are you?" Darcy asked, excitement filling his eyes.
"The doctor guessed I was around four weeks today." Elizabeth said and placed her hand over his.
"How long have you known?" Darcy wondered.
Elizabeth blushed, "I found out two days ago." She admitted.
Darcy frowned and pulled away slightly. "And you never told me?" Darcy looked unhappy with that revelation.
"I was being selfish. I wanted sometime with only me knowing. I was going to wait until today because I was scared something might happen. I know I am still at a tender stage but I could not keep the news to myself any longer." Elizabeth explained.
Darcy captured her lips with his once again. "I love you Mrs. Darcy." He murmured against her lips.
"I love you too, Mr. Darcy." Elizabeth stated with a bright smile upon her face.
And it was true.
She found herself falling in love with him, and their child, more and more every day.
