Words Aren't Enough
Chapter 34
Hours Later
After finishing their meal at the food court Brooke and Astrid shopped and talked giving each other the chance to truly know each other.
While Brooke was finishing up trying on an outfit in a changing room. Astrid lingered outside the bouquet. She scanned the clothes and jewelery rack.
"Trashrid Astrid. It's been a long time. I guess you're too busy these days to dig through the trash. Just so you know. Changing how you dress or you're hair won't automatically make us forget anything." The teenage girl said.
"You will never be accepted by anyone at school in this town." The other girl said.
"We know what you used to do for money. What a slut. No guy will ever come near you." The third girl said.
Brooke re emerged from the dressing room. With the outfit she had tried on over her arm.
"I'm ready to go. How about you.?" She asked.
Astrid gazed up at Brooke. "I want to go home." She said.
Brooke instantly noticed a shift in the teenage girl's demeanor. Tears were glistening in her eyes.
"What's wrong.? What happened.?" She questioned.
"Oh my god It's Brooke Davis Scott! I love you! We all do!" One of the teenage girls in the group of three exclaimed excitedly.
"Can we get a picture or an autograph.?" One of the other girls asked.
"I would but i'm spending quality time with my daughter so. We are going to leave now." Brooke said. Wrapping her arm around Astrid's shoulder. As she put the outfit she was going to buy on a chair before the leading the way out of the clothing store.
...
Once Brooke and Astrid were back in the car. Brooke looked to Astrid.
"What went on back there with you and those other girls.? The mood and expression on you're face was completly different. You know you can talk to me." Brooke said.
Astrid took a breath removing her gaze from the window. She looked back at Brooke and told her the whole story. Those girls had targeted Astrid from the minute she stepped foot into her first class two years at age 11. And have been making her experience at the school hell on earth. Why.? she hadn't known. The recording being leaked of her past only worsened things.
"That's the real reason behind me being homeschooled. I asked my dad not to tell you the truth because i was humilated. Add that to everything i went through before and after i ran away. I should know better then to show my face in public at all." Astrid said.
The expression on Brooke's face softened. "Take it from someone who was that mean girl which something i deeply regret. It caused me to not have the chance to know alot of great people . Those girls target you because they are insecure, their home life is a mess, or they are simply jealous of you. Because of how beautiful you are and the amazing life and support system you have." She said. Looking eyes with the teenager.
"What im not going to allow is for you to live in fear and not enjoy you're life because of people like that. You have so much going for you. I'm going to do the best i can to help you see that. Now that we have some new clothes, and indulged in delicious food. It's time to head over to the salon. I need to get my nails and toes done. But first i'm going to head back inside the mall. I forgot something. Stay here and wait for me. I shouldn't be long." Brooke said.
Astrid nodded her head in agreement.
...
The teenage girls jumped from their seats at the food court. When Brooke re emerged walking right over to them. The smile on her face quickly vanishing.
"I'm going to tell the three of you this once. So pay attention. Astrid is a wonderful girl. Whose endured more then you will ever imagine. You all stand there making you're jokes and targetting her because you have nothing better to do with you're life. I'm not playing around here. Leave Astrid alone. Don't speak or even breath in her direction otherwise. I will see you're behavior as a threat and i don't react kindly to people who against my friends and my family." Brooke proclaimed. Turning her back on the girls as she left the mall.

Weeks Later
At 14 weeks pregnant the baby is as big as a peach. I have officially entered my second trimester. Also known as the honeymoon period. I have increased energy and my appetite back which means i'm eating alot and enjoying it. My hair has grown thicker and more shiny.
Lucas and I have begun the fun process of looking into various childbirth classes. After looking into multiple various therapy choices. Lucas and i decided to turn to someone who knew what it was like to experiece the death of a parent at a young age.
Peyton gave us a list of options. She looked into therapy herself after the death of Ellie in high school. We found a therapist we hoped would be the right fit for Jamie.
I was more nervous then he was. As we dropped him off at the office. Lucas, Lydia and I would be awaiting him until the session was over.
It would last a full hour to start with.
...
Jamie walked into the therapist office and looked around his eyes distracted by the countless, toys and books.
A young woman with chocolate brown hair and grey eyes walked over to where Jamie stood.
"Hi Jamie. It's very nice to meet you. I'm Ms. Maddie. Do you know why you're here today.?" She asked.
"Because my aunt Brooke and uncle Lucas made me come here." He said. Wrapping his arms around himself.
"Let's sit down and talk." She said with a warm smile.
"Did something happen to you that would make you're aunt and uncle and anyone else who cares about you to be worried.?" She asked.
"My momma died. Before that my daddy died too. They weren't sick or had an accident. My grandpa Dan killed them." Jamie confessed.
"How does that you feel.?" She questioned.
"It's all my fault. My momma needed me. Before that my daddy needed me. They were all alone. If i was there i could of done something to help to stop him. Instead they are just gone." Jamie confessed.
