I DO NOT OWN INUYASHA OR OURAN HIGHSCHOOL HOSTCLUB

Cogito Ergo Sum

Chapter 35

"Come on, I said I was sorry!" Kyoya ignored his friend-guard-whatever and simply continued to walk the Ouran halls. He was absolutely livid and is already plotting on how to get rid of this annoying brat and his big mouth.

"Besides Yukito-kun already said that's not true cause he slept over once in your house and told everyone that you don't really far-" The annoying prick shut his mouth with a click and Kyoya rounded at him and glared with the heat of a thousand suns.

"Can you shut up for just a moment?!" blue eyes blinked owlishly at him before Kagome mimed zipping his mouth and throwing the key away.

Kyoya huffed and briskly walked once more, his ever present shadow mirroring his gait effortlessly.

Five minutes later and Kyoya's tensed shoulders finally relaxed, and then Kagome opened his mouth once more.

"Did you know that Shina-cha and Hana-chan invited me over to have tea with them?" Kyoya kept his mouth closed and kept walking.

"I can't believe everyone is being so nice! I like having friends, they're fun." It must've been the way how Kagome easily blended with his peers or his overall pleasing personality but whatever it is, Kyoya felt very much annoyed at how Kagome relaxed around the classroom and tried to pester him at every turn.

The Ootori boy stopped and so did Kagome, the latter tilting his head in confusion.

"Don't forget your place." he harshly whispered without turning. Kagome frowned in concern, noticing that Kyoya's scent suddenly turned bitter with anger.

While he smelt spicy most of the time because of annoyance, he never smelled bitter.

"Are you okay Kyo-" Kagome was cut off when the boy rounded sharply.

"Don't touch me!" He watched as Kagome gripped his hand as if struck, slitted eyes wide with surprise.

"Don't forget that you're just a rat! Everyone is kind because they don't really know what kind of pest you really are. Don't act too friendly with me either. You're just a nobody and no one truly cares if you just vanish out of nowhere."

The rest of the walk towards the car Tachibana prepared was filled with silence and Kyoya forced himself to be glad about it.

Kagome didn't accompany him in the back seat as usual but Kyoya simply refused to acknowledge the fact.

If he heard the hidden sniffs and the way Tachibana glanced in concern at the child beside his seat, Kyoya simply frowned and stubbornly crossed his arms, ignoring the unpleasant feeling in his gut that he can only identify as guilt.
