Whynot: Wouldn't you know, I'm keeping up with the schedule I set myself :) Thanks!
Nat: Yeah! Lois couldn't really stay away from Clark, it's as if Clark would let Lois leave him haha. Kidding aside, these two are just perfect for each other, in all the parallel earths :) Thank you!
Chapter 14
"Dr. Rubio to see you, Mr. Luthor."
Clark just nodded to his secretary and turned off the laptop in front of him. For the past week, he had stayed at the Daily Planet, sleeping at the mansion only when he was sure that Lois was asleep. He would arrive at the mansion, use his x-ray vision to check on Lois, and then take much needed rest. He has to be content with this routine while it lasted.
He went out of Lois' way and her recovery. If it was the fastest way that she'll be able to gain her walking ability, then so be it, even if it killed him.
The young doctor entered his office and sat down when Clark motioned for her to sit.
"How's the therapy going?"
"Ms. Lane is doing phenomenal. She has followed every advice we have given her, and she showed real tenacity during her sessions. Next week, we have to go back to the hospital for the standard tests and we'll review her recovery."
"Has she experienced any difficulty while staying at the mansion?"
At this question, the doctor laughed. "No, but if you ask the orderlies, it's a different matter."
At Clark's quizzical look, the doctor continued. "Well, it seems like Ms. Lane doesn't like to depend on anybody, and there was one time when an orderly asked her one too many times if she needed help. Let's just say the man asked to be put on the night shift, when Ms. Lane is asleep."
Clark chuckled. Typical Lois. "It's good to hear that she's moving along quite well. At least this injury didn't break her spirit."
"I have another thing to discuss, Mr. Luthor. I strongly suggest that you be present in her sessions. It would be better if a loved one is present to at least be a show of force for our patient."
Clark shook his head. "It's better this way, Doctor. I may cause distress to Lois and it might cause setbacks to her improvement."
The doctor just sighed. "Well, just to inform you, tomorrow is the start of her pool session." The doctor hesitated, and then pulled a paper from her bag. "Here's the rest of her schedule. I'm sure you want to be in the know." She placed the paper on his table and stood up. "Thank you for your time, Mr. Luthor."
"Thank you, Doctor."
Just as the doctor closed the door to his office, the sound of sirens broke through his super hearing. Focusing further, he heard an on-going bank robbery. This would be a welcome distraction.
Half an hour later, Clark arrived back at his office, satisfied with his work after cutting off the hands of the robbers and tying them up for the police. Clark then sat down, and the paper the doctor left catching his attention.
He wanted to be there for Lois, but he knew that he would just be a liability. He had lots to offer, but Lois will surely throw everything in his face. It was a good thing Lucy pulled through. At least Lois was still staying at the mansion and keeping up with the therapy.
Looking again at the paper, it wouldn't hurt if he would be present. He just won't let Lois know that he's there.
Clark arrived at the mansion an hour before her scheduled pool session. He scanned the area and found the perfect spot to watch the session without being seen.
His mind was full of whirling thoughts. Was Lois doing well? Does she have everything she needed? Does she still hate him? Does Lois know that he's still doing his saves because of her? If only she would let him explain.
Clark finally saw Lois wheeling herself towards the pool, and the world stopped for him. This was probably the first time he saw her without walls in between ever since she transferred here. Dressed in a modest one piece swimsuit, she exchanged pleasantries with the therapist. Seeing her smile towards the therapist brought an ache to his heart. How he wished that smile was because of him, directed at him.
Lowering herself to the edge of the pool by the bar, Clark was amazed at Lois' steely determination in not accepting any help. Gracefully, she entered the pool, proud of her accomplishment.
The therapist soon followed, armed with exercise equipment that will help Lois. Clark watched as they transitioned from one activity to the other. Then, Lois was asked to face a wall of the pool, and with the therapist behind him, grabbed a leg bent it backwards, and to Clark's opinion, the therapist was too close to Lois' body.
Seeing red, Clark abandoned his perch and made himself known to the occupants of the pool.
"Mr. Luthor!" the therapist exclaimed, giving Clark an approving nod. "Good to see you with grace our session today!"
Clark did not respond, only looked at Lois, who was still staring straight ahead, nostrils flared at his apparent intrusion.
"Would you like to take over? It's very helpful if a relative or a loved one does the exercises with the patient."
"Oh no." Lois said. "He's no relative and definitely not a loved one."
"But isn't he your husband, Ms. Lane?"
Clark didn't waste any time and discarded his shirt, shoes, and socks, leaving him in his khaki pants. He jumped into the pool and watched as the therapist slowly walked away from Lois, who was now rigid, her knuckles white from gripping the edge of the pool.
"The first exercise, is that you lift the leg, bending it at the knees, then after five seconds, extend the whole leg backwards for another five seconds. Make ten repetitions for each leg, then we'll move on to the next exercise."
Clark smiled as he bent down to do what the therapist instructed. He could feel her seething anger. He revelled in it. Being this close to Lois, touching her, helping her, it gave him a different kind of euphoria. That Lois was raging inside didn't matter somehow.
"Great!" the therapist said. "Now Ms. Lane, you have to face your husband—"
"What?" Lois exclaimed.
"You have to face your husband."
"That I will not do." Lois said, scaling the edge of the pool to leave it.
"You want to stay longer here at the mansion just because you don't want to work with me?" Clark asked, knowing it would get the reaction he wanted from her.
Lois stopped, and then slowly, turned around to rest her back against the wall of the pool, lips pursed and jaw clenched. Lois shot a glare towards the therapist, but he was oblivious giving instructions to Clark.
"This time, you lift the leg, bent at the knees at a right angle, for five seconds. Then, push it towards her body, hold for another five seconds, then extend the leg forward, for another five seconds. Ten reps again for each leg."
Clark gently placed a hand on her thigh, lifted it and held the position for five seconds. He then grabbed her knee, and he couldn't help it, pushed it towards her, his body scant millimetres away from hers.
Look at me. Clark willed, but Lois' head was turned to the side.
After five seconds, the hand on her thigh travelled slowly towards her leg to extend it, and damn him, he felt the first stirrings of desire at what was supposed to be an innocent touch. But that was what Lois does to him. Yup, blame it on Lois, he thought.
Each repetition made him harder than the last. He knew he was torturing himself, but he was willing to take it.
"Last exercise of the day, lift the leg straight out to the side, hold for five seconds, then return standing. Again, ten reps."
When Clark thought that he could continue, this proved to be his downfall. The sooner his hand touched the inside of her thigh, he was already straining.
"Damn it!" Clark whispered, and Lois suddenly looked at him.
Clark was floored. His first eye contact with her, even if it was full of ire. "I'm sorry." Clark continued even if he was already bursting with need, if only the reason of his perseverance was Lois not being touched by the therapist in that way.
As soon as the last rep was finished, Clark excused himself. "I have to leave now, I remembered a phone call I have to make. I'll leave you two to wrap up."
"Thank you Mr. Luthor. I hope this won't be the last time we'll see you!" the therapist called to Clark's retreating back.
As soon as the coast was clear, he supersped to his room, undressed himself and then went straight to the shower, putting the cold water on full blast. But it did nothing to his libido.
"Might as well." Clark said.
Closing his eyes, he grabbed his hard member, moving his hand up and down, all the while remembering Lois in the swimsuit. He remembered the creamy skin of her thighs, legs that go on and on. He then brought up memories of their lovemaking: their first on the roof deck of her building, their spontaneous trip to London, their honeymoon. Each memory made him pump faster, and soon his come littered the wall in front of him.
Breathing heavily, Clark grabbed the shower head and directed the flow of the water to clean the wall.
"Only you, Lois." Clark said. "Only you can do this to me." Spent, but knowing that it was nothing compared to the real thing.
Your reviews are always golden. Love lots!
