Dear Hamnet,
I was thinking about what you always said, that it was better not to fight, to do no harm. It must be easier to fight, and that's why there are so many people fighting all the time. Not fighting is what's hard. Why do we always go for the easy way out, do you think? I bet if us humans got together and simply refused to lift a weapon to each other, we wouldn't know what to do or how to treat each other, but we wouldn't harm each other either. That would be a good thing. We could actually get something done then besides just senselessly killing each other. You'd like that, I bet. So would your dad. You remind me a lot of him.
Just thinking…. Since I have so much time to think now that I was suspended from school for fighting. Guess I took the easy way out, huh?
