Well, apparently me and Remi can't count, because Remi somehow ended up one behind on the Concurring Overwrite side of things. So she actually did two entries on her side this time to even things out. Let's see of we can keep the chapter numbers straight from here on out lol.

Meanwhile, would you guys like to have some plot?

Data Fragment 33: Essence

Henry felt bad for Willis. He saw nothing but cold rage in his eyes, and in the eyes of his recently-evolved Rapidmon, clashing against Henry's own Rapidmon. The Antylamon was different, worry etched in his features even as the huge lanky rabbit swiped at Henry. To the side Kazu and Kenta yelled at Willis, who yelled back.

No one enjoyed this fight, so how could Henry? It was frustrating, since Willis and his Digimon were putting up a good fight so far. If only they were in better spirits.

But it was the words that hurt the most.

"You're not the real Henry! So stop pretending!"

And...perhaps he was right? He remembered almost nothing of his previous life. Could he really be called Henry? But what other name could he go by? Most Digimon species went by the same name, after all. Even many humans shared names. But that wasn't really the issue, was it?

Still, how did Matt put it? Even though so much changed when one became a Saint, they still had the same soul. The core essence was what counted, much like how a Digimon's Digicore preserved the key components of a Digimon's personality, even through multiple rebirths.

Yet Willis saw him only as a virus. How unfair, when a third of Digimon were naturally Virus-type. His friend's Digimon was a Virus-type, and he was the nicest Digimon he had ever known...his friend? Yes, the one he watched the rainbow with. Oh, the two other humans here, Kazu and Kenta, who claimed to know Henry...

He would worry about that in a moment. First..."Terriermon!"

Henry's Rapidmon devolved into his Rookie form, before breaking apart and being absorbed into the Saint. A flash of light later, and Henry was now in his true form: sleek green armor with traces of black and red, with a black blindfold covering his eyes. Despite the cloth, Henry could see perfectly fine. What little skin that still showed had dark green lines.

"War Rain!" Henry shouted, as several cannons flared out of his back like wings. A dozen missiles rocketed forth, shooting their own red lasers as they flew.

"Look out!" shouted Willis's Rapidmon, shoving his brother Digimon out of the way. The sweeping lights still caught both of them, however, and they crashed onto the ground before devolving to their Rookie forms.

"Terriemon! Lopmon!" Willis cried out, before glaring daggers at Henry.

"W-We're okay..." said Lopmon, as the brown dog-rabbit staggered to his feet.

Terriermon snarled as he to got up. "How dare you hurt my brother! Virus!"

"You attacked me first," said Henry, before glancing over Kazu and Kenta. "Hey, can I ask you two something?"

"Uh, y-yeah?" asked Kazu. His Guardromon stood before him silently but firmly.

"The boy with the red...dragon...?" Henry began.

"You mean Takato?" said Kenta, as MarineAngemon peeked over his shoulder..

"Don't tell it anything!" Willis snapped at them. "How many times do I have to tell you, that's not your friend!"

"Willis...Terriermon..." said Lopmon, looking concerned. "...We should retreat. It's...too dangerous for us to fight this right now."

"And let it fool and hurt a buncha other people?" Terriermon growled. "No way! Running from something like this only makes things worse! We all know that!"

"That's not-" Lopmon began.

"No, Terriermon's right. We have to stop this now," said Willis. "Time to go Mega, guys."

"Both of your Digimon can go Mega?" Kazu exclaimed.

"It's been a while since we've needed to, but yes," said Willis, before holding out his Digivice. "But if there's any time to do it, it's today! Now Warp-Digivolve!"

Lopmon still looked pensive. "Lopmon Warp-Digivolve to..."

Terriermon grinned as he glowed with light. "Terriermon Warp-Digivolve to-!"

Both Digimon were swallowed by huge pillars of light, almost too blinding to look at.

"Cherubimon!"

"BlackGargomon!"

"Black..?" Willis began, before the words died on his lips. Before him was a giant black mecha-like Digimon, his canine face pulled back in a sneer. And then, slowly, Willis looked to his right, where a giant purple jester-like rabbit floated, face grim.

"Those are your Megas?" asked Kazu. "Dude, uh..."

"N-No..." croaked Willis, still staring at Cherubimon. "No...why..." He glared at Henry with newfound hatred. "You! You did this!"

"How? All of you still have anti-virus rings," said Henry, pointing to the bands. "Besides, my virus wouldn't do this to them." There was only one thing it could be.

"I don't know how, but I know you-"

"No, Willis," said Cherubimon, turning to his Digidestined.

Willis gasped. "Kokomon! Can you still hear me?"

"Of course I can," said Cherubimon. "This isn't because of a virus." He pointed down to Willis with a smug smile. "It's because of you."

Now that I've mostly caught up on explaining things/filling holes, I can focus on moving things forward for a little while. If there's any extra things/characters you want me to explain/address, let me know and I'll try to fit them in a drabble in the future.
