It was now August and it was half way through summer break, Leo was 2 1/2 months old and getting bigger by the day. For his age he was above average, he was able to laugh, slept through the nights with no problem, he loved it when people played with him. He was also very close to rolling over. As for the teens, Catherine, Nick and Warrick had all celebrated their 19th birthday's and Grissom's was in a few days time. The teens all spent as much time together as possible, Leo was usually brought along as well. Sara was at the mall with Leo looking for the last few bits for her present for Grissom. She had already paid for the two of the to have a night away and had arranged for Betty and James to take care of Leo for the night, she had also bought him some new tops he had wanted and some books but she had felt there was something missing.
"What else should we get daddy for his birthday, huh? Sara asked her little boy.
Sara laughed as Leo gave her a funny look as if to day 'how should I know'. He then let out a shriek as he couldn't reach his favourite teddy, Sara reached into the pram and moved the teddy closer to her son and stroking her sons face.
"Happy now Mr Leo" Sara joked.
Leo smiled at his mum before chewing on his teddy. Sara continued to look around the shops with Leo and picked up a few little bits and bobs which included a grey Adidas tracksuit which she also got Leo so they could match.
"Still need something special, don't we Leo" Sara sighed.
Leo looked at his mum then looked back at his teddy.
Sara laughed at her son "You're just the sweetest little boy in the world!"
After another hour Sara still couldn't find anything special to get Grissom and was about to give up when she passed a small shop. Sara went into the shop and saw a frame that you could personalise.
"OMG! This is a great present for daddy, Leo. We could put a photo of the three of us and Buddy in it and add a saying onto it"
Leo let out a squeal as if to say he agreed, this made Sara laugh.
"I'll take that as a yes"
Sara smiled at her little boy and decided to buy the frame, she asked if they could add the worlds 'Mummy, Daddy, Leo and Buddy' as well as the sentence 'We love you and we always will'. They told her the frame would be ready within the hour and if she wanted to send them a photo they would add it in as well for her. Sara thanked them and emailed them a photo of the Grissom, herself, Leo and Buddy from last week from when they were on a walk at the park. She then left the shop to grab a drink while they waited on the frame. She decided on a Starbucks, getting a coffee, before sitting down at a table at the window. She then took Leo out of his pram.
"Now what are we going to do for the rest of the day, huh?" Sara said kissing her son's forehead.
Sara smiled as Leo showed her his gummy grin. Sara was too busy paying attention to Leo she didn't notice someone walk up to their table.
"There's my two favourite people in the world" Grissom said kissing Sara on the cheek.
"What are you doing here?" she asked shocked but happy.
"On break from work and wanted some decent coffee. It just so happened my favourite people were here at the same time" he said taking a seat next to Sara and taking his son from her.
"I see, how was work?"
"Meh, was okay. Miss you two but I'm very glad I bumped into you two on my break" he told her kissing Leo's head.
Sara smiled, she knew Grissom loved his work. He was a coroners assistant, he knew it would help him become a CSI but as much as he loved his work he always said he loved being with his family more.
"Anyway, what have you two been up to today?" Grissom asked his fiance.
"It's a secret" Sara said winking at his.
Grissom rolled his eyes "Sometimes mummy is very annoying"
"OI" Sara said playfully slapping his arm.
Grissom laughed as did Leo which then made Sara laugh.
The couple sat together for the rest of Grissom's break playing with their son as well as joking around with each other.
"Well, I guess it's time for me to leave me two favourites for a little while so I can go back to work" Grissom said sighing.
"Well how about we have a movie night? Maybe see if Mia wants to join us as well since we've not see her in a few days?" Sara suggested.
"Sounds like a great idea, do you want to phone my mum and pick her up or shall I do it after work?"
"I'll do it, now go before you're late" Sara laughed, taking their son from him.
"Okay, okay. I love you both and I'll see you's both later" he said kissing Sara softly on the lips and his son on the forehead.
"We love you too, see you later"
Once Grissom had left Sara settled Leo back into his pram and left the coffee shop, heading back to the little shop to pick up the photo frame. She then phoned Betty to ask if Mia could stay with Grissom and herself that night and watch movies, Betty said it sounded like a great idea. Sara then made her way to the Grissom household to pick Mia up. They then headed to the Sidle house and played in the garden with Buddy till Grissom came home. Laura and Robert were visiting family in LA for the week and Greg was staying at Morgan's that night so it would just be the four of them and Buddy. Grissom came home bringing Pizza with him and they all sat in the living room watching Peter Pan. They watched another movie after that when they noticed Maddy had fallen asleep, since they were all already in their pyjamas Grissom picked Mia up and placed her in the spare bedroom next door to their room, Buddy followed them and jumped onto the bed next to Mia, falling asleep. He then returned to the living room to sit with Sara and Leo who was still wide awake and lying on his baby play mat.
"Just got to get this little man to sleep then we can have some alone time" Grissom said winking at Sara who just laughed.
"Look Griss, he's trying to roll over again!"
"Come on Leo, you can do it. Roll over for mummy and daddy" Grissom said lying on his stomach to face his son.
Sara lay next to Grissom in the same position, the two encouraged their son to roll over.
"Come on baby, you can do it" Sara smiled at Leo.
Just then Leo rolled onto his stomach and smiled his gummy smile to his parents.
"OMG! He did it" the two parents cheered.
Sara picked her son up and kissed his forehead.
"I'm so proud of you little man" she whispered.
"We have the smartest little boy in the world" Grissom said kissing his son's forehead.
"Just like his daddy" Sara smiled.
"And his mummy"
The three of them stayed up a little longer, Sara and Grissom couldn't believe how fast their little boy was growing up.
