A/N - This chapter took me a few days. I had it played out in my head but how it played out and how it ended up was two different things. I hope you like it. I am trying to tie up some of the small little details and pull them through in this story. Some of them have kind of got lost in the process.

Daydreamy fluff, language and a wedding.

Please read and review.

Enjoy!

Chapter 10

EPOV

I started walking. Bella had just left me crying and it was my fault she had been. It was too soon. Now I had no idea what would happen. I still felt guilty but she felt the guilt too. She had felt guilty for thinking of me while in her marriage. I didn't stop walking till I got to my penthouse. Harry was on duty now and I nodded as I entered the elevator. My mind was going to wander and think about the what if's that I should have done tonight. I used to have such control of my life and now since I met Bella I was a mess.

Jace greeted me with a wagging tail as I stepped off the elevator. I had to take him out so we slipped out to the roof and he ran around. I would take him out again in the morning. Maria was coming tomorrow to do a house clean before I left for the homestead. I was supposed to do best man things and no work. But business doesn't stop just because a wedding happens. I would leave Jacob in charge if anything should happen. He already ran the yard some extra stuff wouldn't kill him and maybe just maybe keep him off of Jessica's desk for a while.

I sat in the chair I had out on the roof and watched as Jace played. It was here I had the first daydream. Best daydream I had ever had. Tonight since I had seen her I knew she was still hurting I could see it written all over her. My chance to explain I had and I should have waited.

"You ready to go back in side boy?" All he did was wag his tail and let out a small bark before he let something go from his mouth. It wasn't his ball or his stick. The toys he had out here were off to the side still. "What is this Jace. Where did you get this from?" I flipped the card over. Madame Luna Fortune Teller Service. New York City. It must have caught the wind and came up here. This was a high rise building. I tucked it inside my pocket and would put it in the trash when we went down.

Jace had followed me inside and as I took off my coat and hung it on the back of the stool he stood there and barked at it. I turned around and shushed him as it was late. I went again to move away and he barked again. He had his nose in the pocket where I had the card. "What is it boy is it the card? What are you trying to tell me?"

He just looked at me this time as I took the card out. It was blank when we were on the roof but it had something written on it now. They both will be okay in your care. Your heart will guide you. I turned the card back over. Madame Luna Fortune Teller Service New York City was fading and the other side was getting darker. I put it on the counter top and reached down for Jace. He cocked his head side ways and let out a quiet woof before wagging his tail. "What are you trying to tell me? You want me to go to this place?" At this point it was so late and I wasn't tired anymore I went and got my laptop and sat on the couch. I typed in the name Madame Luna Fortune Teller Service and hit search. Nothing came up but ads. So I tried just Madame Luna New York. Up popped a business listing. It was on the other side of the park towards Brooklyn. "Is this what you want me to do tomorrow boy?"

I was talking to my dog who I knew was not going to reply. He cocked his head again and woofed and I closed the laptop back and put it on the coffee table. I headed into the bedroom and changed and padded my way back to the piano. I ran my hands over the keys lightly and sat at the bench. The piece of music I had been working on flowed from my fingers as I played. I continued the piece and wrote down each note before committing it to memory. I played it over and over till the sun started to peak out of the earth. I needed to get some sleep. So I left everything where it was and headed off to bed. I would get a couple hours before I had to get up.

.~.

My alarm went off a few hours after I had drifted off. I sat up in the bed and Jace was sleeping at the foot of the bed. I stood going to the window and throwing the curtain wide open. Letting the sunlight through. It was a little cooler today than it was yesterday but still beautiful enough. I could see the park and the trees starting to turn. It was like something had happened over night. I headed out of the room and slipped a tee shirt over my head. Maria had just arrived and brought me the paper. There I was splashed on the front cover heading into Jasper House. I didn't even see any press there last night. I saw them so often that I knew most of them. This must have been a new one.

I didn't bother read the article. I knew it was 'who is he dating now that he was divorced' article. They had a field day when they learned I was divorced. They displayed the whole messy relationship across the news from the start to the finish. I don't know exactly why I had agreed to marry the bitch when the news saw it from the start and I didn't. I pushed the paper aside before my mood had shifted. I wanted to be calm today. I didn't have to deal with her anymore.

"Mr. Cullen did you want breakfast?"

"Yes Maria. I am going to head into the shower and be back for breakfast."

"You're usual?"

"Yes please."

I had a quick shower and dressed in a dress shirt and slacks. I had to stop and see this Madame Luna before I headed out to lunch at the homestead. Then I was meeting Ben to get him all prepared for tomorrow. I do remember prior to my wedding what I had done. Jasper and Emmett had helped me. That seemed so long ago and that part of my life finally over. I should have figured it out but I was so blind in control and my business I had not seen it. Like I said the newspapers had even figured it out before I had.

Maria had breakfast for me and was just putting the coffee down when she noticed the card. "Where did that come from? My daughter goes to her periodically. She is very good."

"I don't know Maria. Jace had it in his mouth last night when we were coming back in from the roof. I got in so late I didn't have a chance to walk him."

"It is blank Mr. Cullen."

"That is funny it was blank when I touched it at first and then when I looked at it again there was a fortune there on the back."

I picked up the card and underneath was a blank notepad ready for phone messages that Maria always used. The fortune was etched into the pad as if it had been written there originally. The back of the card was blank now and the front that had faded was full and bright again.

"Apparently she came from the West coast. Something called to her to be here from what she told me."

"Do you know where she is located?"

"In Brooklyn just past the park. Well that was where she was last. She has moved twice. It seems she is trying to find something that suits her business just perfectly."

"I can attest to do that Maria. You know I do similar. There is something about that card though."

"Eat Mr. Cullen before it gets cold."

"Yes mam." I smiled. With everything that had happened Maria was always there to look after me. Even in my dark moods. She knew when to back off and when to bring me things.

I picked up the card and the paper the fortune was etched on and put a jacket on. I tucked them back in the pocket as Jace wagged his tail at me.

"Maria will take you out today boy. I will be home later okay. Going to see about this card."

He sat and looked at me. I smiled and patted his head and headed out the door. I had the address programmed into my phone so I got in my car and followed the directions. It was a business in a house which was not uncommon in New York. I could see the name etched on the glass door from the car. I parked just down the street but I didn't get out of the car.

"I'm nuts. I'm fucking nuts. I am following a card that Jace had. Fuck." I went to pull out of the parking spot and looked in my rear view mirror. I dropped the card in my hand and spun around to get a better look. Bella and Angela were coming out of Madame Luna's the same card I had just dropped was in their hands. They were smiling and laughing and then Bella was crying but not sad crying. She was happy.

I continued to sit and watch them as they entered Angela's car and drive off. Madame Luna was at the door watching them go so I took a leap of faith and got out of the car. I headed down the sidewalk and she opened the door for me.

"You wish your fortune read?"

"I guess. I've never been but I found this. I was drawn to come here." I took out the card and the fortune etched on the paper. The fortune that was on it last night was there once more. They both will be okay in your care. Your heart will guide you.

"Your hands please."

She put the card aside with the paper and took my hands in hers. She read the lines in my palm and looked straight at me.

"You covet the one that seeks you." She paused to write down on another card the fortune that was told but before she released my hand she said something else. "Your love is pure it will bring what you covet and the other will be calm." She took out another card and wrote that one down as well. She gave me my other card that now had the previous fortune on it again.

"Thank you Madame Luna."

"There is something bigger than you going on. You are hesitant to believe? Yes?"

"I am. I have never had my fortune read before."

"She has been seeking you even though she did not know it. She had married another. Now she believes." It was like another fortune was coming from her as she spoke yet she was not touching me. What did that mean? What does any of this mean? I looked at her quizzically and she spoke again. "She believes. She knows. Both will come."

"I don't understand?"

"You will Mr. Cullen." Wait how did she know my name?

"How will I?"

"You will see and finally understand."

She ushered me out the door with out paying and pulled the blinds closed and flipped her sign to closed. I stood in the sidewalk and starred at the cards. The one from last night and the two from today vivid in ink and blinking right at me.

They both will be okay in your care. Your heart will guide you.

You covet the one that seeks you.

Your love is pure it will bring what you covet and the other will be calm.

She had said I would see and finally understand but she also said she believes. She knows. Both will come. I put everything in my pocket and headed back to my car. I started it but didn't go anywhere. You covet the one that seeks you. I am coveting Bella but did that mean her? She was not seeking me. She had just lost her husband. I shook my head and finally drove off. I had no idea what any of this meant. I wanted to believe what I had just seen but I couldn't.

.~.

Lunch was uneventful at the homestead. Dad was chatting about the upcoming benefit for the hospital to raise more money at the end of the month. The masquerade. Mom was arranging it as usual. Alice was decorating and Jasper would do the food. Emmett and Rosie would be there this time for a night out. It was going to be a family affair to show solidarity in the fight to save people. I was not really paying attention my head was still trying to wrap around the fortunes I was told by Madame Luna. I didn't really believe them but I couldn't stop thinking about them. There was something about them.

By time I left I headed straight back to the city and joined Ben and some of his friends he had here for dinner. His father was flying in but was going to be very late for dinner so he would see us tomorrow at the church. I had a tux already and it funny enough matched what Angela had picked out for Ben and his best men.

"Earth to Edward. You okay?" That was the second time he had done that to me in 2 days.

"Yes just something that shook me. Trying to wrap my head around it that is all."

"Well you look like you're in Greece."

"I suppose I do. But that is definitely not where my head is. Sorry I am not worrying you with anything. You may be my assistant but I am not burdening you with this."

"Well how are you going to do with out me for two weeks?"

"I will make do. I will have a trip to Seattle coming to get prepped for when you return. Also the hospital benefit masquerade"

"Yes if it is okay could Angela come with us when we go out that week? She can visit with family while we work."

"You are going to visit your family too. It won't be all work for you that week."

"Okay Edward you're the boss."

"Now no more work stuff. Dinner. Did Angela kick you out for the night?"

"No she is going to stay with Bella at her hotel from the text I got earlier while we were waiting for you."

"Well if you want you can stay in the penthouse. I have extra room. The church is not far."

"Thanks Edward."

I hadn't even ordered food yet and Jacob had called while we were chatting. I had just said no more work but when he texted urgent I knew something was up. So when he called again I picked up.

"There is a can here from Brazil. They never stopped the shipments. This is the first one in 2 months."

"Jacob call Mr. Crenshaw. His card is on my desk."

"Okay but don't you want to call him? I never dealt with him the last time. You told me not to worry about it."

"I will then. I am in the middle of dinner at the moment."

"I know sorry man but this is urgent. They are about to open it up. I don't want a repeat performance of last time. I don't want any of our guys hurt."

"Get the number for me. I'll wait." Jacob had keys to my office just in case of an emergency but not to the files I had. I had left Mr. Crenshaw's card on my desk just in case something else had happened. This was a just in case moment. Jacob gave me the number as I wrote it down on the napkin I had in front of me. "Thanks. I'll call you back."

"So much for no work." Ben said.

"I have to make a few calls. I'll be back. You are not calling for me."

"It's my job Edward."

"Not today it isn't."

I stood up and took the napkin with me. I headed out of the restaurant and stood out front and placed my call in the quiet.

"Mr. Crenshaw it's Edward Cullen. I have a can from Brazil sitting in my shipping yard that is about to be opened and you may want what is inside to be contained like last time….Yes it is….. Jacob Black just called me to say that it was there….I'll tell him to wait….Yes sir." I hung up the phone and called Jacob next told him that any personnel he had on the grounds was not to touch the can in any shape or form. No matter what was in there the FBI was handling it and no one from my shipping yard will be touching it.

I hated that this was happening now. I couldn't get involved I could only direct. I did my part as I am sure I would find out about it later. I headed back into the restaurant and finished dinner. This only reminded me of Bella and her deceased husband who I had hired and then I felt the guilt all over again.

.~.

I never heard from Mr. Crenshaw or Jacob for the rest of the night. I had it in the back of my head along with all the fortunes. Entering the penthouse I emptied my pockets putting everything on the counter as I usually did. Ben hung his suit and when he turned back around and saw the Madame Luna cards he looked at me.

"Where did those come from? I haven't seen them since Angela and I first started dating. She and Bella used to go when we all went to the fair in school."

"Jace found one on the roof last night. It had me curious so I went today."

"She is in New York? I thought she was on the West coast."

"I guess. It said New York on the card. I found her. I was there earlier." I didn't tell him that I had seen the ladies come out of the parlor before I went in.

"Did she give you a fortune?"

"A few."

"I always asked Angela but she never told me. It was their tradition when they went to the fair."

"How many times did they go?" I was curious.

"I think they started going before I was with Angela. I just remember her leaving me with Jared as we went to the shooting fair games and they would go. I used to come home with a huge bear for Ang when we went."

"Sounds like fun. Never been to a fair myself."

"It's a country thing."

It was getting very late and Ben had to crash. I found myself sitting again at my piano but I didn't play. I found myself thinking of the fortunes and what they meant. I eventually forced myself to bed and took my phone with me. I set the alarm and lay back drifting off to sleep.

"I miss you Edward. I miss being with you. I miss seeing you."

"Your still hurting. I made you cry yesterday."

"But I had been searching for you. I have been waiting for you. Be one with us."

I watched as she moved over me and traced around my chest. I couldn't help but feel the shock of her finger tips run through my skin as they set my nerves on fire. The curve of her breasts hovering above me as I took one in my mouth and then the other. I felt her arch as she waited for me to enter her. I thrust into her and took control of her this time. I rolled her over so I hovered above her without breaking our contact. I took her hands in mine and continued to thrust into her. She let me take control this time. I kept her gaze and I did not falter by looking away this time. I didn't want her to disappear when this felt so good. I kissed her and hitched her leg against my side as I ran my hands down her side. I could feel the electricity in her which transferred the lust that she had between us both. I thrust my cock into her deeper than I had before. I knew she was close and wouldn't last long. She had been waiting for me. I moved as she moved and when she tightened and cried out in her orgasm I spilled everything I had into her.

I collapsed beside her and pulled a stray hair from her face as she looked at me. She had opened her eyes so much so I could see everything. I could see her smile, her happiness and the green eyes she was starring at.

"I found you. Both of us will be okay with you." She kissed my hand as my fingers traced her lips and then she was gone.

Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep

I hit the stop on the alarm on my phone before I threw it across the room. I didn't need to break my phone today. I put the pillow over my head and blocked out the sunlight that was shinning in. I had forgotten to close the curtains and with the dream I had just had I wanted to go back. I tried to go back but the throb of the blood rushing to my waistline interrupted it. I threw the pillow instead and headed into my bathroom dropping my pants and stepping into the shower. It wasn't long before I painted the wall and headed out of the shower to get ready for the day.

.~.

Ben was a bundle of nerves but once he had 3 cups of coffee and some food he was good to go. I didn't think Angela would be too happy if I had piled him with alcohol before he got married so I didn't. Maria had come to cook and look after Jace as she would spend the day here while I was out. Normally he was okay but she would let him run on the roof or take him out for a walk since he didn't get out but to the roof yesterday.

By time tuxes were on and we arrived at the church his father had arrived. We had changed the night before venue so when he flew in last night he told us he would meet us there at the church. We arrived shortly before Angela and her bridal party to greet guests and their family and when it came time Ben stood with me beside him. He had given me the rings and knowing the drill I would give them to the priest at the right time.

The music started and the doors opened. It was like there was a glow coming from the doors. I knew it was just the sun coming in through the windows but it was almost blinding. I never saw that when I got married so this was totally different. It was like the heavens were blessing Ben and Angela today. It was who came out of those doors at that moment that took my breath away. If I had not known who it was I would have fallen for her on the spot. But I had already done that from the first time I had met her in the park. I couldn't help but grin.

The green dress Bella was wearing hugged her up top and flowed down to the floor and she looked gorgeous in it. She carried a small bouquet of flowers in pale pink and white and her hair was up off her shoulders showing off her neck and back. She herself had a smile and started to walk slowly down the isle. She took her place across from Ben and I and turned to watch Angela come down the isle with her father on her arm. I cast a sideways glance at Ben who only had eyes for his bride. He was smiling from ear to ear as was she. I looked at Bella who was watching her friends as they took each other's hands and stood before the whole church.

.~.

Angela insisted on pictures in the park. So the photographer followed us as we entered. He was snapping pictures as we found the spot she wanted. I couldn't help but look around and see that it was almost the same spot as Jace had run into Bella the first time. These pictures I could stand for. The press were not here today. I am sure they will have got wind of where I was at some point. I couldn't help but sit for a moment as Angela and Bella had pictures done with Ben. I watched Bella as she smiled and her eyes glittered. I was drawn to her and wanted to stand there behind her and hold her safely. She was like no one else I had ever met. I barely knew her yet it felt like I had known her for years.

"Edward come for pictures." Angela had said out loud.

I rose from the bench and stood with the three of them. I couldn't help but smile as the energy coming from all three of them was infectious. No brooding today. I would stay in the moment as much as I could.

"Edward you stand right there. Bella beside Edward just in front and Angela beside Bella and turn in slightly and last but not least Ben stand just in behind Angela and her dress. Now look at me and smile." I heard the snap of the picture before he spoke again. "One more and smile." The snap went off again and I felt Bella step forward. She had not really moved that far forward but that small step had me looking her over. She was glowing and happy. Her skin was radiating in the sunlight and the simple necklace she had on fell just to the top of her breast line when I looked down at her. Even in heels I was still taller than her. I wanted to reach out and hold her but I refrained I knew I would scare her and with how she felt the other day it would have been okay for me but maybe not for her.

"Okay Bella stay where you are and Edward come and turn your shoulder this way. As the best man and matron of honor you get your pictures done too."

"Sure." My inner self was doing flips. I had a stupid grin on my face I was sure of it.

They both will be okay in your care. Your heart will guide you.

You covet the one that seeks you.

Your love is pure it will bring what you covet and the other will calm.

I hadn't seen her face but I could tell she was smiling. I wasn't touching her a moment ago but when the picture had been snapped and taken she was pressing her back into my chest. She didn't step away after the two photos were taken but she did turn her head slightly before I heard her speak.

"I'm sorry I ran the other night. I was not at my best being at Jasper House."

The photographer took one last picture before he moved onto Ben, Angela and her family that had arrived. I stepped from behind her and faced her.

"It was too soon. I'm sorry as well."

"It was not your fault. I know better now. I was not feeling my best. It was the last place I had seen him. I hope you understand that."

"I do."

"It was not your fault, nor was it mine. As Angela always says it is human nature to want things we can't have but have to earn."

"That is a very true statement."

"The last week I have kind of gone through something that I have not thought about in a very long time."

"I don't follow."

"You wouldn't understand if I told you. I barely believe it myself."

She smiled and was called back for more pictures. I watched her go and she turned back to look at me and smiled again. Something had changed in her. I couldn't put my finger on it but I stood there and just watched her move. The delicate steps and small head turns for the photographer even the slightest movement of her lips was different. Your love is pure it will bring what you covet and the other will be calm.

I couldn't take my eyes from her and when I caught Ben starring at me he came over.

"You have a thing for her don't you? That is why you asked for the picture before."

"I don't know what it is. I am just drawn to her."

"I was too until I saw Angela."

I looked at him; eyes wide open at his admission. "Ben?"

"No one knows but Bella. She and I had gone on a few dates in high school. We were better friends than together. Then she met Jared and I saw Angela and the rest is history."

"Really. I always thought you and Angela had been together forever."

"We have been together forever but before forever there was Bella. She needs to heal first and then I am sure she will be in a better position to open up again."

"Does Angela know about you and Bella?"

"It was before her. She knew we were friends." Ben looked at his bride and Bella interact and smiled. "She has never asked. She and Bella became friends after that." He paused again and turned back to look at me. "Loosing Jared hit Bella hard. But I can see she is healing. I've known her for a long time Edward. I also have worked for you for quite some time and know and see things about you. I know you go after what you want. I can see it. Let her heal and she will come around."

I watched Ben go and get in the last of the pictures before we left for the dinner reception. He was truly happy. I was glad for that. Looking back on my wedding day I was not truly happy like he was. I would continue to bide my time. I wouldn't push her. Like Ben said she was still healing. I would be here when she came around. Now the daydreams were another thing all together.

.~.

The dinner was grand. Angela had planned everything right down to the table decorations. She was just like Alice. Maybe I should get Alice to hire her as well. The photographer had followed us to the reception for a few more pictures and then left for the evening. On every table was multiple throw away cameras for everyone to use to take random pictures. Angela was a planner and photographer and she wanted everything documented. I gave a light hearted speech. I hadn't known Ben in the past in high school so I couldn't attest to his childhood but I did attest to his work ethic and how much he loved Angela. I told him if ever called me Mr. Cullen again I would send him to work for my father. He laughed. When Bella spoke of Angela and how long they had known each other I was in awe she also added in how long she had known Ben. She had the wedding guests giggling. You would never have known that she had just lost her husband. His empty chair sat beside mine with the jacket draped over it. I had to glance at it just as a reminder.

While the rest of the guests were dancing and having fun I had gone outside to get some air. I passed other guests coming back in wrapped in shawls and jackets shivering at the cold. There was a slight chill in the air but the further I had gone out the colder it was. One remained though. She stood in the moon's light in the grass her arms wrapped around her. I could tell she was cold by the way she held her arms. Her back was open and the line from her neck to the top of the back of her dress was visible to all that had glanced at her. I stopped and just looked at her for a moment before I slipped off my jacket and walked up to her. Before she knew it and could protest I had slipped it over her shoulders. She was turning around with her mouth open to say something but closed it when she saw it was me.

"Bella you will catch a chill out here. The temperature has changed. It is colder."

"I know. I needed a moment. Needed some air. I'll go back inside in a minute."

"Me too. I needed a moment to clear my head."

"Edward thank you for your coat but don't you need it?"

"Not right now."

"Thank you but…"

"No buts. Someone has to look out for you out here by yourself."

"I…"

"I know."

"I…"

"I know you're hurting."

"Edward shut up for a minute." She turned to look at me. She was soft in her words and waited to see if I would cut her off again. "Thank you. I have something to say."

"…" I remained quiet. I was curious as to what she was going to say. She looked different. She looked like she was having a war within herself on what to say.

"Let me say this or I won't get it out. Or I may cry. One of the two. Maybe both." She paused and took a breath. "You told me how you felt the other day and the guilt you had felt. Well I felt just as guilty. I tried to tell you that but it just was not the right time. But I realized something and I started to believe something else. I needed to let the guilt go because it was not my fault. Sam told you the same thing. It was part of the job. I knew this going into the marriage. He wanted to be just like my dad and protect me like he did. Like I am being told that you will. I thanked my lucky stars every time he came home from undercover work. I thought it was my fault for the longest time afterwards because I had pulled him out for a night out that we deserved. I thought his mind was not on his job but it was. He was trying to be safe for me." She paused. I had caught what she had said like I am being told that you will. "I was given something a long time ago and I didn't believe it like I do now. I had to go through what I have to get here where both of us will be okay. It's been two and half months and he knows we will be."

"Bella…"

"I let the guilt go. I realized it was time. I let the guilt go and you came."

She was looking at me tears brimming her eyes. I reached out and wiped away the one that escaped as she touched my hand. She leaned into my hand as it lingered there. She wasn't moving away like she usually did. I pulled her towards me and kissed her. I took the chance and hoped I wasn't wrong in my decision to do so. She instead surprised me by kissing me back.

When we parted she remained in my arms as I felt her against my chest. I could feel the rise and fall of her chest as we just stood there. I didn't dare break the moment by speaking but I smiled. They both will be okay in your care. Your heart will guide you. The card flashed before my eyes as the fortune echoed in my head. I still didn't understand the first part but I was letting my heart guide me to her and dictate what I did next. I just hoped it was what she wanted. They both will be okay in your care. Your heart will guide you.
