Words Aren't Enough

Chapter 38

Days Later

Lucas stared out at the empty pool. He had drained it himself after what had took place with Jamie. The entire situation had left him shaken and with this lingering fear that he only seemed to worsen as the days went by. He thought Brooke and him had done everything possible to give Jamie what he needed but he was starting to think it wasn't enough. Jamie was struggling and in pain.

Lucas knew he had to talk to Brooke about his concerns. He would wait until after the wedding. She was happy and hopeful she deserved to feel that way during a time she had waited so long to have.

Hearing crying coming from the baby monitor in his hands. Lucas headed back inside their home.

The Davis mansion

"Brooke as far i'm concerned this meeting you've called has nothing to do with business so why are you here.?" Victoria Davis questioned.

"Maybe she's here to fire you again from the company you helped her create or she's come to tell us that she's come to her senses. And is calling off the wedding." Ted Davis said with a smile.

Brooke took a deep breath. She knew coming here was a mistake but yet she came there expecting understanding and support.

"Nothing like that. Lucas and I are getting married as planned. I came by because i was wondering if you would walk me down the aisle daddy.?" Brooke asked. Looking forward.

"We aren't going to this wedding. We have never supported this relationship. You made you're choice and we made ours. Which is not to be in you're life at all." Victoria said.

"He isn't from our world neither is that daughter of his. There is no point in trying to form a relationship." Ted said.

Brooke hadn't expected her parents words to hurt her. But they did.

"I just thought i would ask." She said. Getting up from her seat. As she left her parents home for the last time. Knowing she would never return.

Astrid looked over the list and walked over to the cash register. That was made with the help of Peyton and Rachel. For the baby shower. After being told of the gender of her future sibling. And the bonding day she spent with Brooke. She wanted to make an effort. Show Brooke that she was willing and open to having a relationship with her. The idea of having a mom. That she knew would love her unconditionally and protect her. Made a difference. She had wasted so much time keeping Brooke at a distance out of fear.

She was ready to start over. Be the daughter Brooke deserved.
