As long as Danny Reagan had known his wife, he knew she loved to sing and dance. She'd put on music while cleaning the house, singing and dancing with cleaning supplies in her hands. She was always one of the first people on the dance floor, always singing along to the songs. She'd even blast music while she was in the shower or tub, and sing along with it.
Where as he, a polar opposite, hated to dance. The only dances he could do was the Twist, the Monkey, and the dance that went along with The Right Stuff. Danny had danced at his wedding, after being dragged to lesson after lesson, and he still couldn't really dance.
He remembered his wife teaching him all sorts of dances when they were teenagers and young adults, all of which he had forgotten by now.
Danny knew for an absolute fact that Linda loved to sing and dance, so he wasn't surprised when he came home early and found her and the boys cleaning out the garage, while she had the music on her phone blasting. Danny smirked when he saw the embarrassment on his sons' faces as they loaded the car with trash.
"Mom is a weirdo," Sean whispered to his Dad, prompting him to laugh.
Linda looked up, "hi, Danny!"
He walked over the piles and kissed his wife. "80s' playlist?"
"The Linda and Danny playlist. I made it yesterday. It's got every song that means something to us. Our first dance, first date, wedding songs..."
Danny smiled, "you remember all that?"
"Mmhmm. I also remember how you used to sing to me while we slow danced."
"I remember that, too."
"Remember the first time you sang to me? Remember what song it was?"
"It was Annie's Song, by John Denver."
"Mmhmm," Linda took Danny's hands in hers as the song started playing.
"I'm not gonna dance," Danny watched the boys walk away and into the house.
"Please? And sing, too?" She pouted.
"Okay, for you."
Linda smiled and let Danny's voice fill her senses as they danced.
" 'You fill up my senses
Like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again
Come let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let me lay down besides you
Let me always be with you
Come let me love you
Come love me again',"
Linda sang the last verse with her husband, " 'You fill up my senses
Like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again."
The blonde smiled as Danny hugged her, then kissed her.
"Aww!!"
They looked up to see Nicky, who had come over to help, smiling widely. "You two are just so cute! I wanna find a man who'll sing love songs to me like that."
The couple smiled, and Danny put his arm around Linda. "If you do find him, never let him go," the blonde kissed Danny's cheek.
Nicky smiled and picked up some trash as the song changed. The opening guitar riff came blasting through the speakers, then the melody. At the same time, the Aunt and her niece exclaimed, "now this is a good song!"
Danny smiled, "I'll go get the boys."
