Bakugo Expelled
Chapter sixteen: The school festival at U.A.
The twenty-five students in Aizawa's class at U.A. High School had taken a fair bit of time on what they could do for an upcoming school festival. The reason why they were putting so much into their efforts was two-fold. One, the school had just recently enrolled at least fifty students that were placed in its various courses; this was done as part of U.A.'s efforts to strengthen up due to the recent siege on the city launched by hordes of evil monsters.
In regards to itself, class 1-A had gotten ten of said students, with one of those lucky ten being their former classmate Katsuki Bakugo, who was expelled from U.A. a while ago, scooped up by U.A.'s self-proclaimed greatest rival Vulcan High, was thrown out on his ass along with the rest of Vulcan's student populace when the school was shut down, then taken back in by U.A. as they were going about looking to enroll as many potential students as they could find. None of the students in 1-A liked to talk about why they're at twenty-five despite adding ten.
The second reason why the school festival is so important is because students from a local regular public high school, Azu-Daioh High, will be visiting. They got a notable population of monsters, good ones unlike the warmongers from the city siege, in their student body. Nezu thinks that establishing friendly relations with good monsters would be a great boon to hero society as a whole. Hence why 1-A wanted what they did to be as awesome as possible.
In the end, Aizawa's students ended up going for a sports-bar kind of place, setting up a spare classroom to look as much like such a bar as possible. Naturally, as this was taking place on the grounds of a school, there would be no alcohol. Still, the sodas and various snacks served will still help to set the mood. By the time that class 1-A was done, Bakugo had a look around at the set-up his class had done. He let out an amazed whistle.
"Well I'll be damned," the ashy-haired boy remarked as he looked around, "This looks like a legit actual sports bar."
Akuma Giratina, one of Bakugo's friends who he made while at the now defunct Vulcan, and who is also a student that was scouted by U.A., nodded in agreement. "…Yeah, I figured that some of the adult men who come here may want to have a place where they can relax and watch a few games on the TV while their children have fun at the other attractions." True enough, it had been Akuma who came up with the idea for a sports bar, and after he explained what he had in mind the rest of 1-A soon got on board, mostly because none of them could think of much else that wouldn't be copy and pasted from another group's idea.
As Akuma, Bakugo and a few other 1-A students finished up a few last-minute touches to the sports bar, their classmate Yaoyorozu came walking in. Looking around at the setup, she let out an impressed whistle. "Wow, this turned out to be a rather good idea that you had come up with, Akuma. Not bad."
The satanic hero-in-training gave an amused smirk. "Well I'm glad to see that I got the approval of the class's vice-rep."
The wealthy girl took Akuma's remark in stride. "Yes, well hopefully it won't be just people visiting the festival who will enjoy class 1-A's sports bar. I'd like it if others here at U.A. as well also enjoyed visiting here." Yaoyorozu wore a look of somber sympathy on her face. "…Some of the girls in our class could use something to take their mind off of what happened while our class was on the other side of the Pacific Ocean."
Bakugo knew what Yaoyorozu was talking about, nodded in acknowledgement to her before she took her leave. After the wealthy girl was gone, Akuma turned to look at Bakugo, a look of piqued interest and curiosity on his face. "…I assume that her last comment had something to do with what you mentioned to me about some of your former classmates being killed?" Gesturing to the explosive teen, Akuma asked, "Apologies if this scratches something that should not be touched, but you mentioned that you were close to them."
"…I wasn't really friends with Glasses, Tailboy or Bird Head," Bakugo said somberly, "Just Kirishima and Kaminari. Even so, it really sucks what happened to all five of them."
"Some of the girls in our class still hold looks in their respective faces that make them seem like those who had lost lovers close to their hearts."
Bakugo nodded in the affirmative. "…Yeah, Akuma. I can't really say much about Frog Face or Invisible Girl, but it's clear they're still hurting over what happened to Bird Head and Tailboy. As for Earplugs, I'm surprised that she's mourning Kaminari as much as she is. I was under the impression that she and Kaminari barely became just friends after she screwed him over and he forgave her." Turning to look at his satanic friend, Bakugo asked, "You think that Earplugs may be regretting how she threw away a chance to be Kaminari's girl?"
Akuma nodded in agreement, seeing the logic in the ashy-haired boy's guess. "That seems like a logical conclusion to draw." Akuma then arched a wry eyebrow as he regarded Bakugo. "I think that I've seen one girl in your girlfriend's class act similar to Kyoka, Tsuyu and Hagakure."
"You're probably talking about Pony's classmate Shrooms," Bakugo replied, a somber look on his face, "Yeah, Shrooms was deeply in love with Kirishima." Gently shaking his head, Bakugo went on, "She never got to tell Kirishima how she felt about him. To make matters worse, he was hoping to one day find a girl he could try to get interested in him so that he could enjoy being in a relationship, like what I have with Pony."
"But he never knew about Kinoko."
The Explosive teen gave a somber nod in the affirmative. "The poor bastard died never knowing that there was already a girl who was in love with him."
"…Well here's hoping nothing bad happened during the upcoming school festival," Akuma remarked, hoping to change the tune, "A lot of people have already lost so much, so it would never do to remind them of that while they are here to have fun and enjoy everything that the festival will have to offer them."
Bakugo nodded in agreement with Akuma, before they were brought back to attention by the other three students in the classroom who were helping them out with the last minute touches to the sports bar; Bakugo's friends Mina and Sero, plus Bakugo and Akuma's friend from Vulcan Sakaki. With everyone back on track, the five teens soon finished up the sports bar, with all that they needed to do then was bring in the sodas and snacks that the sports bar would be serving.
A trio of U.A. teachers, those being Aizawa, Hizashi and Nemuri, were walking along out in the festival grounds the morning of the school festival. "Seriously, Nemuri," Aizawa said in a clearly scolding tone, "What you did after the tournament between U.A. and Vulcan was the height of being unprofessional, especially considering that your reason for trying to ruin Bakugo's future as much as you had tried to do was incredibly petty." Hizashi nodded in agreement with Aizawa, likewise showing a level of disappointment in the eighteen only hero.
Nemuri, with a mildly annoyed pouting expression on her face, said as she crossed her arms over her chest, "…I still don't like how some upstarts were putting on airs after they had humiliated us all the way back then."
"Vulcan had been shut down by the Commission a while ago, Nemuri," Hizashi remarked, "Can't you let it go?" Hizashi and Aizawa saw a look of grumbling annoyance on the face of their co-worker, a sign that told the both of them it would be a while/take a lot for Nemuri to truly let go of how bitter she felt.
Seeing this, Aizawa sighed in a resigned tone. "…You know, it was actually Bakugo who gave Loukar and I the last bits of testimony that were used to put the final nail in Vulcan's coffin back during their trial the Commission had." That got Nemuri's attention, making her turn to look at the underground hero. "All that he asked for in return were for Loukar and I to recommend Giratina and Yamamaya to new hero academies after Vulcan was shut down, as well as to vouch for him when he tried to apply for work."
The eighteen-only hero was a bit surprised when she saw the Satanist and the fat cat girl of Vulcan both among the various potential new students that Nezu and his team had scouted out to look into enrolling into U.A., but had assumed that Nezu had only been interested in them because they had placed in the tournament that embarrassed U.A. She honestly didn't know that Bakugo had asked for them to be recommended to new hero academies once Vulcan was no more, and furthermore was surprised that Bakugo apparently didn't ask to be recommended to any schools at all himself.
Probably because of the damage that Nemuri had deliberately done out of bitterness.
Nemuri, up to that point, still held a lot of resentment towards Bakugo due to the role he played in helping Vulcan to humiliate U.A. in a tournament that the top hero academy in Japan was hosting, and on said academy's home turf as well. But learning of how Bakugo had helped to put that final nail in Vulcan's coffin, as well as how he asked for friends of his to be vouched for to new hero academies while not expecting any such courtesy himself, made her reconsider how she had led to Bakugo being given a raw deal.
That attitude was probably part of the reason why Aizawa has suggested to Nezu to re-enroll Bakugo, a suggestion that Nezu not only was fully on board with but was actually considering to do so anyway, even if the underground hero had not made the recommendation.
"At the very least," Hizashi said as he got Nemuri's attention, "You at least owe Bakugo an apology for deliberately trying to screw his future over." Aizawa nodded in agreement with the cockatiel-haired pro hero. Nemuri acknowledged that the boys were making a point, and she would be looking into properly apologizing to the explosive teen, hoping that it wouldn't be too awkward of an affair for her.
Maybe, if Nemuri explained it to Aizawa and Hizashi, they might agree to help her get the point across to Bakugo.
Later that morning, the school festival had started up in full. The students from Azu-Daioh High, human and monster alike, came in and had a bit of fun so far. To the piqued surprise of the U.A. students, none of the monster students looked like monsters, rather they all looked totally human. It was explained to them that the monster students were all using a skill called monster glamour to blend in with the humans, in order to not cause a scene.
The sports bar that class 1-A did ended up getting a fair bit of patronage, including the father and kid sister of Tsuyu, those being Ganma and Satsuki. Ganma explained to Tsuyu, who had asked about it, that Beru and Samidare, the mother and younger brother of Tsuyu, couldn't come as Beru had to take Samidare to an appointment. Additionally, everything that was going on at the festival may have overwhelmed Samidare anyway, a point that Tsuyu acknowledged.
"Oh man, if I had known there'd be a bar here where I could catch the game today, I would have come wearing one of my jerseys," Ganma remarked in an amused tone as he sat on a stool by the bar counter that had been set up. The toad-like man was clearly amused by the idea of a sports bar where men like him could relax.
Nodding in agreement to Ganma, Sero said as he, Bakugo and Akuma manned the bar counter, "Well Akuma here figured that there wasn't really anything geared to appeal towards dads who'd be coming to the festival, whereas there were things for pretty much every other part of a family that was being covered by other classes."
"Speaking of, I can only assume that Tsuyu took her little sister to that stuffed animal café that class 1-B is doing," Akuma remarked.
Ganma nodded in agreement. "Yeah, that sounds like something Tsuyu would do with Satsuki." The toad-like man drained the last of the can of cola he was drinking from, sat it down on the counter with a resigned sigh. "…Tsuyu wasn't the only one upset by her boyfriend being killed, you know," Ganma remarked in a somber tone, "Beru and I were both shocked to hear it when Tsuyu had told us what happened, and Beru even cried a little. Both Satsuki and Samidare had cried when they heard the news, given both of them grew fond of Fumikage."
Bakugo got out and served another can of cola to Ganma when he asked for it, sliding down the money to pay for his new drink. He popped the can open and took a swig from it. Letting out a sigh as he sat his soda down, Ganma went on, "Samidare was especially hard hit by the news. He took it about as well as, all things considered, I would have expected out of him."
"My guess is that he saw Bird Head as a cool big brother-like figure," Bakugo remarked, getting Ganma to turn to look at him. "Would that be accurate to say?"
Ganma nodded in agreement. He would have spoken up further, but the toad-like man was cut off when a bunch of panicked screaming came from the hallway all of a sudden, followed by a few angry shouts. Alarmed, Bakugo told Ganma and the other patrons at the sports bar to stay put while he, Akuma and Sero went to the doorway to look out and see what the hell was going on, especially since not only was there too much noise to suggest it was the result of people having seen a haunted house-like attraction, but there was no such attraction at the U.A. festival.
In the hallway, Bakugo and the others saw a few U.A. students, accompanied by casually dressed students from Azu-Daioh, flee from a number of men all dressed in similar-looking black outfits as they were tearing up a storm. A few students, U.A. and Azu-Daioh alike, were fighting back, but the sheer number of men made it rather difficult. Both Bakugo and Akuma looked confused by what all was going on, but Sero had a paled look of shock on his face.
"…Those men." Having heard Sero speak up, Bakugo and Akuma both turned to face him. The tape-dispensing hero-in-training gave a gentle shake of his head. "…They're all dressed like the two assassins who had tried to murder Uraraka during the field trip." Bakugo and Akuma both went wide-eyed with alarm.
As the boys were struggling on what to do, they were met up by their classmate Todoroki, who was accompanied by two girls from class 1-B, Pony and Reiko. "Bakugo, Akuma, Sero, the hell is going on here?" Todoroki said.
"IcyHot!" Bakugo said as he and the others turned to face their schoolmates, "I need you, Pony and Ghost Girl to head into the sports bar and protect the civilians inside! Akuma, Sero and I need to go find and regroup with Pinky and Cat Girl so the lot of us can track down the bastard responsible for leading all of this bullshit and kick their ass!"
"Mina and Sakaki are over in the stuffed animal café that my class is doing," Reiko informed the boys, "They're also with Uraraka, Tsuyu and Tsuyu's little sister."
"Then we need to go there all the sooner!" Sero said, a panicked look on his face, "Todoroki, the men that are all dressed similarly look like the men who had tried to murder Uraraka during the field trip we took to the States before Bakugo was re-enrolled into U.A.! Uraraka and the others might be in serious danger!"
There was a look of shocked surprise on the half-and-half boy's face, but after he looked like he was considering the facts for a bit, he nodded in agreement and gestured for the 1-B girls to go with him into the sports bar that class 1-A was doing. This gave Bakugo and the boys the cover that they needed to go over to where class 1-B was doing their thing and not only regroup with the girls in their posse, but to also cover who they suspected might be the main target of all of the men that stormed U.A. grounds so brazenly.
Mina, Sakaki and Tsuyu were fighting off a few of the similarly dressed men who tried to flood into the class 1-B homeroom. Near the back, a few people who were visiting the stuffed animal café were huddled up as far from the door leading into class 1-B as possible. Uraraka was also trying to protect a clearly frightened Satsuki, who was crying her eyes out due to being so scared of what all was going on right now.
At the doorway leading into the classroom, Mina was shooting her acid at the men while Tsuyu and Sakaki were fighting the men up close. As Sakaki struggled with one of the invading men, said man was yanked away when a length of familiar tape fell around his neck, like a garrote, and pulled him back. Similarly, a stream of black flames and explosions battered into all of the other invading men in that area. The girls looked over and saw Bakugo run up to them, with Sero and Akuma following along behind.
The explosive teen looked around, saw Sakaki and Tsuyu in the hallway and Mina standing in the doorway leading into the 1-B homeroom. After seeing that all of the invading men in that area of U.A. were defeated, Bakugo looked to the girls. "Where the hell is Round Face?" Bakugo asked, "According to Sero, all of these assfucks look dressed like the two assfucks who had tried to murder Round Face during the field trip that 1-A had recently."
The pink-skinned girl jerked a thumb over her shoulder, pointing into the 1-B homeroom. "She's in 1-B's classroom, covering Tsuyu's little sister."
"Good," Bakugo said, "Chances are that these men are all here to try to kill Round Face, so protecting her ought to be a priority for us."
"Hey, where's Midoriya?" Akuma asked, "Wouldn't it be a good idea to get him to help with guarding Uraraka, especially considering how much of a reason he has to do so?"
Tsuyu nodded in agreement. "He was dragged over to help with a sweets stall that Sato had set up. I know where Sato's stand is kero. Can I ask you guys to look after Satsuki as well while I go and fetch Midoriya to help out?"
The others all nodded in agreement before Tsuyu turned to run off to go find Izuku. After Tsuyu had taken off, Bakugo looked to his friends, those from U.A. and those originally from Vulcan alike. "Alright guys," the ashy-haired boy said as he pounded a fist into his hand, "We got us a Round Face to protect, at least until her boyfriend gets here."
"Exactly," Mina remarked, "There's no we'd let Uraraka get attacked by any-"
"Well now! So you got the target hidden in that classroom you're guarding, eh? Thanks for saving me the trouble, brats!" an adult male voice called out, interrupting Mina and making her and the others all turn to see who it was. They saw an early thirties man as a result; the man he had fair skin, long shaggy dishwater blonde hair, and he wore a stark black t-shirt with a yellow lightning bolt shape on the upper chest area under an open in the front long-sleeved top similar to what all of the raiding men wore, a pair of durable looking jeans, and sturdy looking dark gray shoes. The man was also notably well-toned of body, and he also had small arcs of electricity coming up all over his person.
The man jerked a thumb at himself as he approached Bakugo and his friends. "The name's Raijin Striker, and I'm going to have to ask that you little children stand aside so I can get in there and kill the Uraraka girl." The man held up a hand, having it become engulfed in a shroud of surging, electrical power. "You all don't want to find out what will happen if you don't step aside."
Despite Raijin's threats, Bakugo and his friends weren't going to yield. Bakugo himself even cracked his neck a bit. "…I don't know. My friends and I here are a little bored." Mina, Sero, Akuma and Sakaki all stood before Raijin, none of them intent on letting him pass.
The electrical man mere scoffed. "Fine, little children. Your funeral."
Over at the sports bar that class 1-A was running, the only students there were Todoroki, Pony and Reiko, who were guarding it and the guests inside for Bakugo and the others. "Reiko, this very scary," Pony said in a clearly frightened tone, "Why bad guys invade school?"
"If what I was able to gather is true, the similarly dressed men want to kill Uraraka for some unknown reason," Reiko replied, drawing an affirmative nod out of Todoroki. "At least Bakugo and the others are going over to go protect her from the men."
Todoroki, who was a bit annoyed that one of his classmates was in danger, let out an angry scoff. "I would really like to meet the bastard that's trying to kill one of my classmates, just so I can punch him square in the-"
"I'm going to have to ask that you not assault my source of income," a mysterious male voice called out, cutting Todoroki off midsentence, "Son of Endeavor." A chill went down the spines of Todoroki and the two girls from 1-B. They all turned to see who it was that had spoken up. To Todoroki's shock, it was that Dabi villain that his father had encountered a few times. Dabi gave a casual wave as he walked into the sports bar that 1-A was running, looking a bit amused.
The blue flame villain passed some of the cowering patrons at the sports bar, with Ganma in the front of the group that was huddled off up in the one far corner or the room. The three hero-course students all took aim at Dabi, but he held up his hands in a 'hold it' kind of gesture as he walked over casually. "Hey now, hold on there," Dabi remarked, "Rest assured that me and my pals Spinner and Toga are not part of the group invading. We're only here for some recon."
Interestingly, Dabi sat down at the bar counter, piquing Todoroki's interest. "Granted, the Front and the group that the invading men belong to both get income from the same source, but that doesn't mean that us villains are helping the mercenary squad with their aiming to kill that one girl with the gravity powers. Hey uhh, what drinks do you serve here?"
Todoroki, figuring that he may be able to get some info out of Dabi, decided to humor the situation. "…We only have sodas. This is a high school sports bar, after all."
"Do you at least have Sunhoney Root Beer?" Dabi asked, and was amused when Todoroki pulled a can of that soda out. Dabi even paid for the soda, a sign that Todoroki took to mean that Dabi was not going to be all that hostile.
"You…say that your group and the group aiming to kill Uraraka both draw income from the same source," Todoroki began, hoping to steer the conversation in a direction that would reveal some crucial info.
Dabi shrugged his shoulders. "Mmm, yeah we do, but the only persons in the Front who I'm aware has met our mysterious benefactor are Shigaraki and Mr. Compress, and the former can't even remember the guy's name. Neither Spinner nor Toga nor myself have met the man, and the only two who have met him won't say anything, with Shigaraki not doing so because he can't be bothered to remember the name of the guy who's responsible for a good part of our funding."
"I'm…not one to give advice to villains," Reiko remarked, "But in any circumstance, it would be a good idea for someone to remember the names of people who regularly give them funding."
The blue-flame villain nodded in agreement to class 1-B's resident ghost girl. "My thoughts exactly. Shigaraki is not the brightest pencil in the toolshed, he just does what he wants when he wants." Taking another sip from his soda, Dabi then added, "Like a spoiled child."
"I…see," Todoroki said, "But anyway, I can take your word for it that you and your fellow villains are not aiming to kill Uraraka."
"Pfft, like hell we're interested," Dabi said, "It's just our mysterious benefactor who wants that girl dead. I still have no idea why."
"Why you come here?" Pony asked, clearly nervous.
The blue flame villain drained the last of his drink before slamming the now empty can down on the bar counter. "…I'm only here to check up on Endeavor's son here," Dabi replied as he pointed at Todoroki, "Let's just say that he's…a person of interest to me."
"You aren't going to kill him, are you?" Reiko asked, moving a bit to try and put herself in front of the half-and-half boy who's been trying to win her over.
Dabi looked at the ghost girl with a wry look. "…No, I have no intention to kill him," Dabi replied, "In fact, I want to see him live."
The youngest child of Endeavor was now curious; this notorious villain, who clearly has a beef with his father, wants Todoroki himself to live. The dual-natured quirk boy was curious, and he would be asking his father about this later. The villain, having had his fun, got up from the stool he sat on. "…Great talking to you, Son of Endeavor," Dabi said as he left the classroom, "Do me a favor and tell your father that I want him to go fuck himself, alright?"
Todoroki, Reiko, Pony and the cowering visitors watched as Dabi casually made his way out of the sports bar that class 1-A was running. Todoroki didn't know what all had just happened, but at least he got some info out of it that he was certain both the U.A. staff and the pro heroes, his father in particular, would find very interesting. Hopefully things will be resolved, and the pro heroes would defeat all of the invading men, as well as maybe capture the villains that had been able to sneak onto school grounds.
In hindsight, Raijin had bitten off more than he could chew. Sure, he was an adult with a powerful quirk. But he was alone in going up against a group of five hero course students at the top hero academy in Japan. Their superior numbers, plus the fact that all of them obviously had sufficient training thus far, made the fight more or less of a cakewalk in favor of the teenagers. It did not take all that long for Bakugo and his friends to wear Raijin down.
Raijin was barely able to break out of a wrapping of tape Sero threw around him by using sheer power, but he took hits from Mina in the meanwhile. After he finally busted out of the tape, Raijin was struck by a volley of explosions and black flames from Bakugo and Akuma, and when those attacks had died down, Raijin was tackled by Sakaki, who kept pushing into him as if she were a runaway truck, eventually ramming him into a wall of lockers before she backed off.
The electrical quirk man groaned a bit as he popped himself out of the large dent in the wall of lockers that Sakaki made when she rammed into him. Standing somewhat shakily on his feet, Raijin took aim with his right hand and fired electricity at the teens, only for Akuma to block it with a wall of black flames. Mina then shot a few acid blots at him, striking him multiple times all over his body and making him cry out in pain a bit.
Raijin soon fell to one knee, clearly wounded and winded. By this point, it was clear that Bakugo and his friends had won against Raijin, but they themselves were not in all that good of a shape as well; they were exhausted, and were glad that it was five of them against just the one assailant who was aiming to go after Uraraka. They fought Raijin off while still keeping an eye on the class 1-B homeroom to make sure no other assailants got in and harmed Uraraka.
"You…" Raijin huffed as he tried to get his second wind, "…You little children are not too shabby in a fight."
"Well thanks for the compliment," Mina growled, annoyed, as she cracked her knuckles, "Tell you what. You tell us who all put you and your buddies up to try and kill Uraraka, and the heroes will go easy on you when we bring you in."
Raijin let out a bit of a chuckle, shrugging his shoulders indifferently. "…You guys wouldn't believe me, even if I told you. But hey, if it'll get me a lighter sentence, why the fuck not? Yeah, the guy who put me and the rest of-"
*SHUNK*
Bakugo and his friends all went wide-eyed with surprise when a knife came flying in out of nowhere and forcefully impaled itself right into Raijin's neck, cutting him off and making him go wide-eyed with shocked horror and pain. The heroes-in-training then saw Toga, a known villain, come over and rip the knife out of Raijin's throat by pushing the blade out the front of Raijin's neck, ensuring he couldn't talk. …Or live for much longer.
As the five teens watched the psychotic school girl giggle over all the blood she was seeing, her fellow villain Spinner came walking over. "Toga, I just got the message from Dabi. We need to get out of here now. We did the recon we needed, so now we-" The lizardman villain stopped when he noticed the teens looking at him and Toga. In particular, Spinner's attention was drawn to Bakugo. "…You're that boy from a while ago. The one Shigaraki wanted to try to convert to the League because he thought you'd like the idea."
"Well good luck ever trying to pull that off, you lizard asshole!" Bakugo barked, "I'm going to become a hero whether you like it or not!"
Spinner shrugged indifferently. "Hey, either way it's no skin off my nose. I don't even know why the head honcho decided to risk the League like that." Lowering his arms from the 'hold it' gesture he had his hands up in, Spinner said, "You also look like some drunk woman from a while ago. Dabi, Toga and I encountered her sitting on a bench one night a bit over a month ago while we were getting back from having dinner out as a group."
Bakugo's eyes widened a bit as he realized what Spinner was talking about. "…That was probably my mother. The news report said she was killed because someone impaled her in the back with a fucking katana."
"Yeah, now it all makes sense," Spinner said, "Also, yeah, I was the one who killed that woman. She was assaulting Dabi and Toga first, so I was trying to defend my allies."
"YOU'RE THE ASSFUCK WHO KILLED MY MOTHER?!" Bakugo yelled, beyond enraged as he glared daggers at the lizardman villain.
Spinner crossed his arms over his chest, gave Bakugo a wry look. "Hey, she was the one who was acting drunk and belligerent towards us," Spinner said, "My allies and I were just trying to-" Spinner was cut off when Dabi came up, stopped for a little bit when he saw Raijin's dead body, shrugged indifferently, then collected Spinner and Toga before running off. Things happened so fast, and Bakugo and his friends were too exhausted to keep the villains from fleeing.
Not long after, the invading men had all been defeated or had escaped, resulting in whatever their mission was to ultimately be a bust. The day had been won by the heroes and their good monster allies, but since U.A. was invaded in the process, the school was going to have to do even more to prep its students for the trials and tribulations to come. And what all did Bakugo gain out of all of this huge mess in the end?
He had a lizard that he wanted to hunt down and kill.
Out of the invading men who were captured, none of them knew who their true boss was. Only Raijin, who had been murdered by Toga, knew the benefactor's identity. However, the heroes had been able to confirm that the reason why all of the men had invaded U.A. during the school festival was because they were ordered by the true boss to track down and murder Uraraka, just like how she had been targeted while class 1-A was in the States.
The heroes also received what info that Dabi disclosed to Todoroki during their brief talk; given how powerful and dangerous of a villain Dabi is, playing along and humoring him was the best thing that Todoroki, Reiko and Pony could do in that situation. Bakugo, relieved and very much sorry he left his girlfriend in such a dangerous situation, embraced her tightly when she ran up to him and threw herself into his arms, crying out of relief.
Similar to how he was comforting her, Pony in turn comforted Bakugo when he told her, as well as Reiko and Todoroki, that he and his friends encountered two villains that were with Dabi, and that the lizardman one had confessed to having murdered Bakugo's mother Mitsuki. All of the other students in class 1-A were likewise shocked to hear that an identity for the murderer of the ashy-haired woman had just been confirmed, and Izuku even offered his condolences.
Bakugo, knowing that Izuku had also lost a parent, was actually grateful to the courtesy that Izuku was showing him.'
Many thought that the school festival would be a bust, all things considered, but in truth the heroes-in-training fighting alongside the good monsters actually helped to bring the students of U.A. and Azu-Daioh High closer together. Nezu got it from the principal of Azu-Daioh High that his school would be holding the next school festival, and said that the students of U.A. were all free to come and check it out. Nezu, seeing that he had been able to accomplish his goal despite all that had happened, graciously accepted the offer.
All in all, things ultimately ended well for the heroes and their allies. However, the chaos of the U.A. school festival invasion necessitated a few things, chief among them sending the hero course students off to do an emergency round of internships, as the pro heroes needed to help get the teens as prepped as possible. However, before the internships would be able to kick off, there was an issue of business that had to be taken care of first.
The pending hero rankings list from the Hero Billboard Chart JP.
END, CHAPTER SIXTEEN
Author's notes;
Well this takes care of adapting the school festival mini-arc to this story's setting. Due to what ended up happening in this story's AU setting, Uraraka had more cover, and instead of just Bakugo and Akuma fighting Raijin, it was the two of them plus Sakaki, Sero and Mina, meaning that Bakugo and Akuma had a much easier time beating Raijin. Of course, the electrical quirk man was still killed by Toga, and Spinner, seeing Bakugo, did confess to having murdered his mother all the way back in chapter one.
This will become relevant much later on in this story.
Anyway, the next chapter will cover what all went down during the internships where Bakugo, with Izuku and Todoroki, go to that one business belonging to the Yaoyorozu conglomerate, and as such the boys meat someone important. But before that goes down, a special add-on will be the first part of the chapter, covering the pending hero rankings list that will serve to tell the people of Japan at large which hero is at what rank until the actual rankings list comes out in the later future. Who ends up with what rank will be very important.
Especially given what Endeavor's pending rank will be.
