*changing the dialogue a bit*

Linda got in her car and let her tears out. She was alone, so she could cry. She didn't have to busy herself doing laundry or vacuuming a room in order to hide her tears. She put her face in her hands and completely lost control. Hot, scared, angry tears rolled down her cheeks as she thought of Danny, her love, her life, her partner. She prayed over and over again that Danny would get out of the whole situation without a mark on him. She wasn't prepared for the following night's conversation.

Linda watched out the window for Danny's car. He was being released, and she didn't want to miss him. She saw him walk through the door, looking tired and dejected and... a little embarrassed. Just the look of him tugged at her heartstrings and she was in his arms. "Longest night of my life." She murmured against his neck.

Danny held Linda tightly, hating how she had to go through all that worry. "I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault. You'll figure this out. I know it." She kissed his lips like she had done when he came home from Iraq. "We'll be okay. I'm sure of it."

Danny only offered a weak smile in return. He wasn't feeling very optimistic.

Linda was lying on her side, back to Danny, that night, not really thinking about anything. She heard Danny heave an enormously worried sigh. Her heart broke once again and she turned over. She snuggled close to Danny, resting her head on his heart and her hand on his shoulder.

Danny smiled a little bit, rubbing Linda's arm. He was always surprised about the fact that she knew exactly what he needed. And right now, he definitely needed a hug, a comforting embrace from the love of his life.

Linda pressed small kisses to her husband's chest, "you'll get off scotch free. I know it."

Danny sighed again, "I don't know."

"Whaddaya mean you don't know?" Linda propped herself up, elbows on either side of the framed detective. She put her left hand on his chest, and placed her right hand over her left.

He shrugged, "truth be told... if I were IAB, I'd like me for this, too."

The blonde rested her chin on her hands, "there's no way you're gonna get convicted for this. No way in the world. You wouldn't sell coke to get money. Don't they know being broke isn't a crime?... besides, Jack's a damn good lawyer. Even if he hurt Erin... there is absolutely no way you're gonna go to jail."

Danny kissed Linda's forehead, "I hope you're right."

"Aren't I always?" At least I got a smirk... Linda thought, seeing Danny's half smile.

"I love you."

"I love you more." Why did this feel like Danny was going away?

"I love you most." He kissed his wife like he'd never see her again. That was when Linda understood just how scared her husband really was.

Linda laid her head back over his heart, and kissed his chest some more. She prayed that everything would return back to normal.

A/n

Of course, y'all know how it ends. If you don't, go watch the episode! It's so good! My friend (who is a cop) doesn't like it when they dump on Danny, but I think those are the better episodes. Oh well, to each his own.

Happy reading
