Finally, here we are on chapter 6. We're getting there to our main focus, just a little tiny bit more.

Now that's said, here is chapter 6 and hopefully you all enjoy.

-Adjusting-

"You sure Dogmeat would be good on his own?"

Hearing Piper speak from outside while reorganizing Red Rocket station, Amanda gave a lazy reply as she busy herself trying to arrange tools on a work bench.

"He'll be fine. He knows the way back to Sanctuary."

"You know... I've passed by here before, but never really got there. Always wanted to, but never got the chance."

Amanda inhaled shortly before giving a reply.

"I'll take you there later."

Hearing Piper snort, Amanda got a reply.

"And let me guess. Your mister handy back there is rebuilding each house on that neighborhood."

Amanda gave a lazy shrug on her shoulder.

"Seem like it. I dunno. But mister handy robots are built to serve, after all. So perhaps he is..."

"Oh... Well that was, quite unexpected..."

After finishing up on the tools, Amanda walked outside the garage to Piper.

"C'mon. Let's go."

Seeing Piper folding her arms with her head tilted to her side, she got a response.

"To where?"

"Anywhere else. You'll watch my back, remember?"

"Oh! Right! Of course, Blue I mean Amanda!"

Amanda frowned, but deciding to keep her temper in control, she sighed and began.

"Alright, fine. Listen, I want us to check out this location somewhere else. You see, I've gotten a strange radio signal on the Pip Boy since we headed out Diamond City. Assuming it coming from a radio or broadcasting station, or somewhere there..."

"Oh! That might be Trinity Tower you're referring to! The old Broadcasting Station! I know where that is. C'mon I'll lead the way!"

"Alright then, lead on."

Amanda finally replied before walking along with Piper.

"So, Piper."

She then began, making the other woman turning her head onto her.

"Yeah?"

"How are things, in Diamond City?"

Amanda slowly asked, reading Piper's face she read a small frown before quickly changing into a look of, defeat? But it didn't lasted long as she got a quick response.

"Well, like the usual. Just the same old job being the press. And, of course, aside from the other publick perspectives I'm working on, I'm still trying to pry the truth out of Mcdonough."

Amanda slightly raised a brow.

"Is it about him being... A synth? I read your article yesterday."

Amanda got a small frown from Piper. But seeing her slightly looking down before sighing shortly, she got a reply.

"I'm not crazy, if that's what you're thinking. Well, maybe a little loud, and pushy, but I'm not crazy. And to think that Mcdonough's a synth? I just know it, Blue. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to use the name again-"

"It's fine, Piper. But I'm listening."

Amanda firmly said as she waited for Piper to continue.

"You know that feeling where people don't believe you? The feeling when you're trying your hardest to provesomething that's actually true -even if you only feel that it is - and yet no one believes you?"

Amanda only stayed quiet, she didn't wanted to ruin this moment Piper was having, instead, she kept on listening.

"It honestly hurts. I'm not bluffing, just for the record."

Amanda heard Piper continue with a snort at the end of her sentence.

"It hurts, that...Urgh..."

Amanda gripped on her tracks, she was mentally frowning at herself but something about her felt bad about this other woman.

"Piper. You wanna talk about it?"

Her questioning recieved her a look of surprise from the other woman. Almost flinching herself on surorised by the question.

"Right now? Here in the open? Where any raiders, or even the Institute can easily catch us off guard?"

Amanda folded her arms, this time frowning at the small retort of the other woman.

"I'm trying to understand you, Piper."

Amanda simply replied.

"Well, thanks Blu- Amanda, I mean."

Amanda sighed, raising a gesturing hand as they continued to walk.

"You uh, really want me to continue, huh?"

Amanda gave a small nod in response to Piper's question.

"Alright then. Well, to continue it... I just don't feel like... You know... Appreciated? Yeah. That's the word. And even if people don't need to thank me, I just... Wanted to at least feel appreciated. Even for a little..."

Amanda gave a slow nod as she continued to listen to Piper who shortly sighed afterwards.

"And sometimes? Whenever I get a message on the terminal not like criticism, but as in literally discouraging messages? I just feel like, giving up. I seem to find no other point to keep up tryin to defend the press when barely anyone even believes of the papers I publish..."

Amanda only listened as she they both walked, but glancing at Piper shortly, she cleared her throat and slowly began.

"I did said I do believe in freedom of the press. Remember? So don't give up."

Amanda paused, now seeing Piper slowly turning her head onto her.

"What ever you're trying to achieve. You'll get there. You just... Have to work and work, and work until you get to it."

Although as Amanda didn't even noticed, she suddenly came to see a bright smile on Piper's face.

"Thanks, Amanda. And hell, I'm not even expecting to hear all that from someone I've only met from yesterday. But thank you. At least, even from one person like you, I feel a little appreciated."

Amanda simply nodded. Although she was starting to feel uncomfortable with all of this she's allowed herself into, but trying her best to remain calm, she onlg smiled simply before finally ending the topic.

"Comforting, isn't it?"

Amanda didn't expected to see Piper chuckling a bit softly over her little comment.

"Yeah... I guess..."

'Dammit Amanda. Don't screw up...'

As they walked in silence, Amanda didn't wanted to speak, instead, she wanted to maintain the silence as she followed Piper's lead while checking on her Pip Boy.

"Hmm... It's getting stronger."

She suddenly muttered to herself.

"What's getting stronger?"

Amanda almost jumped in surprise to hear Piper's question.

"The radio signal, I mean."

Amanda replied, but seeing Piper smirking shortly, she got a response.

"Well... That's because we're here."

Amanda didn't replied, instead watched as Piper pointed over to an old building.

"Trinity Tower..."

Amanda muttered as she stared up at the old broadcasting station.

"C'mon, let's go check inside."

Seeing Piper walking toward the open entrance with a pistol, Amanda emmidiately stopped her by grabbing her free arm.

"Wait. Shouldn't we be cautious? What if raiders are inside? There's only two of us."

"If we'll count along your extra assault rifle on your back with your shotgun in hand, that'll be a fair number of us to take on them."

Amanda frowned. Not only Piper's a loud woman, she can also be reasonably stubborn.

"Here take the assault rifle."

She then said as she pulled out her extra gun and handed it to Piper.

"So you do agree on a little violence, huh?"

"Oh, shut up, Paper. Come on. Let's enter the building with caution."

Amanda was about to move in only to hear Piper snort.

"Yeah. Approach with caution while keeping hold of my arm. Good idea, Amanda."

Amanda's eyes emmidiately landed on her free hand still on Piper's arm. Emmidiately pulling her hand away, she didn't made eye contact, but kept her hardened posture.

"Aw, I don't mind, Blue. No need to blush."

Amanda shot her a glare.

"Shut up."

"Ha! Another human come to rescue Rex!"

Amanda quickly ducked with Piper just in time as a gun was fired at them.

"Shit! A Super Mutant!"

"Big, green on steroids, Piper?"

"Yep- Oh! Keep your head down!"

Amanda didn't complied, instead emmidiately snuck her way around the Super Mutant shooting at them.

"Amanda!"

Amanda quickly ran up from behind shot the Super Mutant's back.

"Arghh! You will pay for that human- Arghh!"

Amanda fired another shot, hitting the Super Mutant on his chest.

"I'm coming, Blue!"

Seeing Piper running out of her cover open forging at he Super Mutant, Amanda quickly reloaded and started shooting the Super Mutant.

"ARGHHHH!"

"Stop firing!"

Amanda emmidiately ordered, and seeing the bloodied Super Mutant now falling onto the floor with his right arm completely amputated, Amanda approached Piper And gave her a spare of ammo for the assault rifle.

"Thanks. You okay? Were you hit?"

"Do I look like bleeding, Piper?"

"Hey, I'm just trying to make sure you're okay."

"I'm fine, Piper."

Amanda quickly glanced over to her Pip Boy and saw the radio signal getting stronger.

"We should try on the upper floors..."

"Alright, but can you at least slow down in the fighting? I can barely keep up with your way of just going suicidal here..."

"That's why you're with me, Piper. To watch my back. Come on."

"I smell humans! Brothers! Down here!"

Amanda emmidiately readied her combat shotgun.

"Piper, stay close."

"Oh, boy..."

Ignoring Piper's response, Amanda emmidiately made her way to the second floor, with a reluctant Piper backing her from behind.

As they made their way to the second floor, they were met with a pair of Super Mutants, know armed with some sort of pipe gun and the other with a sledge hammer.

"Mmm! Smells fresh meat for lunch!"

"Come here greenie!"

"Amanda don't taunt them!"

"Piper take the one with a pipe gun!"

"Oh geez!"

"You humans talk to much- !"

Amanda cut off the Super Mutant and as the green skinned mutant began roaring and charging at her, Amanda began running back while continually firing at the mutant.

"Dammit, Blue! Too straight forward!"

"RRAAAAAAGHH! COME HERE FRESH MEAT- AAAARGHHH!"

Amanda kept firing at the Super Mutant until to her sight she came to see the big Mutant screaming in agony until finally dying from several shots but hearing the assault rifle she gave Piper still firing and the sound of the pipe gun forking, Amanda emmidiately rushed back to Piper.

"Piper hang on!"

Amanda called as she fired her a full clip at the Super Mutant and took her time to reload emmidiately by the time Piper took turn on shooting

"That's the whole clip! Gotta reload!

Amanda heard Piper shout and finally too like chance to finish off the Super Mutant by asking and firing her shotgun on it's head. Although after successfully killing the Mutant by a headship the head only detached from the body and only bounced on the wall with a smaller of blood.

"Oh, god-Gulck... Okay, I think that's enough staring for me."

Hearing Piper's comment as she approached, Amanda cocked a brow and finally got what the other woman meant by the time she saw the limp body of the Super Mutant they gunned. A complete side of gore, and blood all over. Amanda got some reason couldn't help but stare even further in observation and in thought about these mutated green skins, until she was interrupted by another voice.

"Oh, beneficent bard! A rescuer!"

A male once shouting in relief came to her ears, and emmidiately running toward to where the voice came from with Piper followed behind, Amanda saw a man in grey hair and wearing a full set of grey suit and was locked inside a small storage room, behind him was another super Mutant.

"What the hell are you doing in there!?"

Feeling alarmed drove to the questioning, Amanda shot the man a cold stare before giving a reply.

"I ask the same question to you, old man."

Rather harshly, Amanda earned a slight elbow from Piper who disliked her harsh response in which Amanda gave the other woman a quick glare before setting her attention back to the man on a suit.

"Ah, forget it but quickly! Get us out of here!"

"Us?"

Hearing Piper's question, Amanda cocked a brow at the man.

"You're asking to release that thing behind you with you?"

Amanda questioned, her eye squinting at the seemingly defenseless Super Mutant.

"Humans listen to human Rex. More of my brothers will be here soon."

Amanda tilted her head before turning to the Super Mutant.

"And what makes you think I'll let you out greenie?"

"Amanda, now is not the time to argue..."

Ignoring Piper, Amanda waited for a response from the Super Mutant.

"They know a human is attacking the tower and freeing human Rex. Let Strong free, Strong help humans fight Super Mutant brothers."

Amanda stared at the mutant with an unsure look on her face. She noticed even Piper herself was unsure of what the Super Mutant said.

"Please. Let him out too. He's harmless. Well, actually, he's far from harmless. But he won't hurt us. Trust me."

Amanda then turned to the man who quickly spoke.

"We don't have that much time now, Amanda."

"Strong will not hurt human if human rescues Strong and human Rex."

Amanda heard Piper again, but sighing shortly, she spoke to the man named Rex.

"This is quite odd. Why is the Super Mutant caged?"

Amanda questioned the man who let out a short sigh afterwards before giving out a response.

"He defied his leader by standing up for me. Because I gave him a new purpose in life. But I didn't expected the rest wouldn't follow the same..."

Amanda raised a brow in curiosity, but when nodded slowly.

"Continue."

"I came here to teach these poor, ignorant creatures culture. But it seemed that only Strong here was the only that actually listened to what I thought I taught them. I started with Macbeth. I guess they all found it funny. Well, all except Strong here."

"Strong learn secret to Human power from Mack Beth."

Amanda exchanged glances with Piper who only remained quietly listening.

"Secret human power?"

Amanda slowly asked while slightly looking confused.

"Milk of human kindness. Strong Will find milk. Strong Will drink milk. Strong will have secret power of humans."

"Yes. Yes, of course you will, Strong."

"Milk... Oh my god... Don't tell me you're thinking about..."

Amanda stopped, earning Piper's attention, she was then asked.

"You know what they're talking about?"

Amanda turned to her shortly before asking a glance at strong before whispering to te other woman.

"It's a pre war saying: Milk helps make stronger bones."

Amanda earned a surprised look from Piper, before turning into a dumbfounded one.

"Wait. Really?"

Amanda rolled her eyes before turning to Rex.

"You idiot! That's not how milk works! Sure, milk helps make your bones strong but that doesn't mean you get some kind of power out of it. What the hell were you even teaching them?"

Amanda heard Piper snorting a laugh after her explanation.

"No, no! You got it all wrong! You are obviously aware of the Milk of human kindness are you?"

Amanda held back the urge of shooting the man, but frowning shortly, I she bitterly spat in response.

"What you're implying isn't true. But it's way too much the same to the one saying that milk helps make your bones stronger. You dumbass! You're teaching it wrong because you know nothing about the pre war world!"

At that, Amanda didn't got a response. Pretty much even from Strong who was staring at her confused with hints of curiosity, and glancing over to Piper who stared at her obviously surprised, Amanda frustratingly sighed.

"Free War? What is, Free War?"

"Don't you dare answer him, Rex. You don't know a thing even about what you're even teaching these Super Mutants."

Amanda bitterly said before turning to Strong.

"We'll let you two out, if you'll quit asking stupid questions."

Amanda firmly said.

"Yes. Free Strong and Rex and Strong not ask stupid questions."

"Amanda are you sure?"

Turning to Piper shortly, Amanda only gave a simple, small nod.

"We can discuss this later. Once we get our of here."

"And it seems you're starting to adjust just finely in the Commonwealth..."

Amanda rolled her eyes before deicing to pick the lock with a bobby pin and after a short time of picking the lock, she managed to successfully the other two.

"Oh thank you so much! I was afraid that this was the end."

Turning her attention to Rex, Amanda began to question.

"Mind telling us the full details on what happened? Make it quick, too."

"Very well. You see, when they grew tried of taunting me, they threw me in here. Little did they knew, there was a radio in here."

"They know. They let you use it to bait more humans."

Amanda then raised a brow from what Sting said before turning to Rex who furiously replied at the Super Mutant.

"What? Why didn't you told me sooner!?"

"Strong thought you know. But it's good thing you use it. Now we are free."

"Urgh... Nevermind. But do you see what I have to work with? I've promise to help Strong find the milk of human kindness if we ever get out of here."

Amanda cleared her throat before questioning.

"What will the Super Mutants do to Strong anyway?"

"They plan to throw him off the building. In fact, they're taking on bets to see on how many times he'll bounce."

"Sounds plainly stupid to me."

Amanda heard Piper's comment, Amanda finally decided to end the conversation.

"Alright. Fine. We'll get you out of here."

"Oh, thank god. Let's all follow Strong. He knows the best way down off this cursed tower."

Amanda rent to Piper who shrugged with an unsure expression.

"Like we have a choice, Amanda?"

"Oh, we do, Piper. But let's follow Strong for a short cut out of here."

After ending the conversation and following Strong to a small elevator platform, they were interrupted by a charging Super Mutant who began to loudly yell.

"We are the future!"

Amanda who couldn't help herself fired her combat shotgun.

"Dammit, Amanda! Do you seriously have to kill everything else you first time to encounter!?"

"I shall uplift our spirits by quoting from the Bard!"

"Oh, yeah. Great, a quoting while in the middle of a fight, not my type of article to publish..."

"Oh, shut it, Piper and help stop this green on steroids from getting at us!"

"Strong admire human's courage, Strong fights with human!"

"Oh, boy... Looks like Hotheaded Blue found a friend."

"Not. The. Time. Piper!"

"Good night, good night! Parting is such a sweet sorrow."

Amanda began firing at the charging Super Mutant and as Strong began to clash into the charging mutant, Amanda careful took her shots to avoid hitting Strong.

"Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we often might win he fearing to attempt!"

Amanda jelly firing and as she killed the mutant with String, another screaming mutant with a pipe gun came charging at them afterwards.

"Okay, now that's not looking too good... Hang on I'm coming, Blue!"

"So wise so young, they say do never live long. By nothing can beat the Strong!"

"Kill the damn thing!"

Amanda shouted as she fired at the Super Mutant who tired to find back but after losing his pipe fin from Strong's punches, both Super Mutants were now in hand to hand combat, and trying her best efforts to carefully take shots, Amanda then noticed Piper helping along on shooting the Super Mutant. But it want enough as four more Super Mutants came charging towards them.

"Hell is empty and all the devils are here."

"Okay, I let's handle those other big meanies while Strong handles the other!"

Hearing Piper's words, Amanda gave a quick nod as they both reloaded their guns and began opening fire at the charging, weaponless mutants.

"Strong now enjoying fighting with brave humans!"

"Let me embrace thee, sour adversity."

"Oh I'm this close to putting a bullet on that guy's face..."

Despite the loud roars, screams and gunfire, Amanda heard Piper's whisper about Rex who was still quoting.

"For wise men say it is the wisest course- !"

"REX SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

"Well, that's convincing enough, Amanda."

As they managed to kill the other two Super Mutants, and Strong finally killing the other, the past two mutants began retreating away further into the building.

"Ha! Run away like cowards! Afraid of Strong!"

"I don't think they were running away from you at all big guy."

"Jesus, Piper can we all just go now?"

"Hey, the whole 'kill everything in sight' was your idea."

"Strong loves that."

"I wasn't talking to you-"

"For god's sake let's all just leave!"

Amanda finally interrupted the other two before mindlessly walking to the elevator platform, follows by the other two who were both still arguing behing her.

After reaching back down on the surface, Amanda turned to Rex who approached her.

"Anyway, thanks for the timely rescue."

Amanda didn't have a nod, instead began questioning.

"What the hell was your deal with these Super Mutants? For real."

"Well you see, that whole milk of human kindness I said that's from Macbeth? I thought I could civilize these savages by teaching it to them."

"You do realize these Super Mutants are stupid. Right?"

"Strong not like what human lady in red said!"

Ignoring the Piper and the Mutant, Amanda began to question Rex again.

"And what about Strong here? What's his story about all this?"

"Well, as you can see, Strong here believes that the milk of human kindness is the secret to human power. So he wants help to find it."

"I already told you about the milk for god's sake..."

"I know. I know, I know. But I thought I was actually teaching those Super Mutants human culture. I was just trying to civilize them..."

Amanda scoffed at the response.

"I even thought if they could just experience the majesty of Shakespeare, it would change them forever."

Amanda firmly folded her arms on her chest with a skeptical look.

"And did it worked out?"

"Well..."

"Yeah. I thought so."

"I almost really thought they'd open their eyes to the wonders of the Bard than Rex Goodman, the foremost actor in the world today. But in any event, I'm quite grateful. Now if you'll excuse me. I think it's time to leave this awful place, and return to WRVR to resume my career in radio."

Amanda gave a small nod, and as she watched the older man leave, she then heard Piper speaking quietly.

"What about Strong?

Amanda turned to the Super Mutant who walked out if the building entrance after looting a sledgehammer and a pipe gun.

"Hey. Strong."

"Go find milk of human kindness with Strong."

Amanda frowned and cleared her throat before responding.

"Why is it again that you want to find this milk of human kindness?"

"Milk is secret to humans. Mack Beth say milk makes human strong. Stronger than Super Mutants."

Amanda scoffed.

"That's why you want to some milk?"

"Strong find milk. Strong drink milk. Make Super Mutants stronger than humans."

"And you're planning to use that to kill humans?"

"Strong not plan to kill or hurt humans. Only bad humans."

"Well, I need to break it to you. That the milk of human kindness isn't real. Sure, there's the ordinary milk that helps keep your bones strong, but that's just it. Unless that's why you want to find and drink some milk? To have stronger bones?"

"Strong? Bones? Make Strong's bones strong?"

Amanda heard Piper snorting a laugh, but rolling her eyes instead, she folded her arms and simply replied.

"Yeah. That's it. You understand now?"

"Strong understand! But human go help Strong find any milk of human kindness?"

Amanda felt Piper's elbow gently poking her side, and seeing the other woman with a toothy grin, Amanda rolled her eyes.

"C'mon, Blue. You gonna help him out? Sounds like quite an adventure pfft!"

"Hmpf quit the damn name! But alright. I'll see if I can help. But you're coming along."

"Aw, god... Really? But-"

"No buts."

"Humans talk so much, Strong not understand why."

"Well, that's what it is when you're a dum dum."

"Piper!"

"Dum. Dum?"

"She means you're stupid, Strong."

"Strong not like what little lady says!"

"Yeah, I can say the same to you. You Mutants aren't much prettier up close."

"Strong say same about little lady!"

Amanda rubbed her temples before clearing her throat and began.

"Alright that's enough. You. Strong. I can't guarantee you we can find any milk to call 'Milk of human kindness' but if you're glad to come along, we'll let you join and you can stay in Sanctuary Hills."

"Humans go help Strong find milk of human kindness? Good. Strong travel with humans."

"Oh boy... Another member to add on the companionship..."

"Not the time or place for this, Piper."

"Geez, alright, alright."

And with that, Amanda began walking with Piper and Strong now following them along.

Although she wasn't sure if she'll be content to just trust the Super Mutant, but seeing there seem to be no harm in doing so, perhaps she could start with little trusts. She just couldn't believe that a Super Mutant unlike the ones she's firstly seen would be done kind of human sympathizer.

"So, how are you holding up?"

Hearing Piper as she walked next to her, Amanda folded her arms and let out a small frustrated sigh.

"Not sure how I'll make of all this. And that what happened back earlier. But I'll be fine. I think I'm starting to get used to seeing blood and gore already."

"Heh. Starting to get used to? After intently killing some of those Super Mutants back there? Yeah right..."

Amanda shortly glared at the other woman but then mentally sighed and deiced to change the subject.

"So, how long do you plan in sticking along?"

Her question seemed to have surorised Piper, but then shortly got a response.

"Well, as long as you need a companion watching your back. I see you already have a dog, and your mister handy and now you have a Super Mutant coming along, but if you still like having me around I'm okay with it."

"Yeah. Alright..."

Amanda was about to set foot only to hear Piper interrupting her.

"Wait. Aren't you sending any of us to Sanctuary while the other travels along?"

Amanda frowned and replied.

"I'm taking you both. Strength in numbers."

"Well, if you say so..."

"God, Piper. Can you stop being loud even for a minute?"

Amanda mentally sighed frustratingly as she walked with Pier and Strong.

"Hey, I did warned you about being loud."

"Well at least keep it to minimum while we're traveling."

"Humans talk too much."

Being interrupted by Strong, Amanda rolled her eyes. Noticing Piper just sighing, they finally traveled without a word, minus Strong's commenting as they traveled.

Finally, instead of traveling anywhere else, they arrived back at Sanctuary, Amanda was surprised to see a few people, some armed and some with children.

Seeing Codsworth chasing Dogmeat around, Amanda heard Piper whispering over to her.

"I'm quite impressed, Amanda. You managed to make a settlement here in Sanctuary."

"Earlier morning when I left it was just me, Codsworth and Dogmeat."

"More humans. Strong ask humans for milk of human kindness."

Amanda emmidiately stopped the Mutant but blocking her arm on his way.

"Let me assure those people first, before allowing you in, understood?"

"Humans scare too much. Some humans not. Strong not understand humans."

"Well, you go on talk to your robot butler while I watch over our oversized toddler here."

"Todd Ler?"

"Oh, forget it, Strong."

Giving a small nod, Amanda began walking further the neighborhood, and being greeted by settlers, Amanda straightly went to Codsworth who emmidiately noticed her approaching.

"Oh, how wonderful! You're back, mum! By the way, Dogmeat came across some nice people on the way back here. Settlers as they referred themselves to."

Amanda gave a nod in response to and hearing a bark from Dogmeat, Amanda simply smiled before patting his head.

"Oh, and I have been chasing him around for quite sometime now, mum. He needs a bath."

"Alright, Codsworth. Go take Dogmeat inside the house for some scrubbing while I talk to one of these settlers."

"Yes, mum!"

Deciding to approach some of the settlers, Amanda approached a woman brushing the hair of her little daughter as they sat just outside house across the street.

"Oh, hi there ma'am! You must be the owner of that mister handy robot? He said he's been serving you for a long time now."

Amanda folded her arms and gave a small nod.

"Yes. He's been serving the family for... A long time now. But not the reason why I'm here to ask. I'm here to ask you about, where you came from?"

"Well, it's a long story.. I you see, we were once residents on the town of Quincy. But ever since the invasion of the Gunners, we had to leave for our safety. We've been scattered all over the Commonwealth ever since."

Taking a seat with the woman and her Daughter, Amanda slowly asked.

"What happened then? And, weren't you supposed have like guards on there to maintain security?"

Amanda waited for a manner as the woman stopped brushing the hair of her daughter. A look of fear was shown on her face.

"The Minutemen. The ones who were protecting us, the ones who'd all been risking their lives to save people to and settlements, they fell. Collapsed. The Gunners had the whole town surrounded on all sides, wearing power armor, a complete disadvantage for the Minutemen."

Amanda gave a small nod.

"Where are these Minutemen? Were there any survivors? Any other surviving residents?"

"There were a number of people that managed the escape, my husband and with our daughter, we escaped with the others, until we were all forced to take our own separate ways due to the Gunners chasing us off, killing a few others of us unfortunate enough to escape. The rest at Quincy, didn't made it. The other settlements protected by the Minutemen soon collapsed after the fall of Quincy."

"Were the Minutemen with you when you escaped?"

"No. They told everyone to arm themselves before giving an order to escape. They stayed behind fighting off the Gunners to buy some time. But there had been rumours that a few, or maybe a handful of Minutemen survived after the Gunners finally took over Quincy."

Amanda gave a small nod but then slowly asked.

"When did this all happened?"

"A month ago. And for the last month, we were rationing what food and water we ever managed to bring with us after escaping Quincy. But don't worry, the other men and my husband are out in Concord to scavenge for whatever supplies they may find."

Amanda gave a small nod, but clearing her throat, she added.

"Hey. Can you tell the rest of the other settlers to remain calm?"

"Well, we've managed to stay calm for the past month of struggling, but why? Is there something wrong?"

"Nothing at all. I brought a human sympathizer Super Mutant."

"A Super Mutant!?"

"Don't panic. He's harmless towards humans who he doesn't find a threat to him."

"Humans! Help Strong find milk of human kindness!"

"Strong, you idiot get back here! You're scaring the settlers!"

Hearing Strong and Piper's loud voices, Amanda sighed while trying to hold back a bitter frown.

"Dammit, Strong..."

"I see your, um... Super Mutant friend has entered this settlement..."

Amanda simply waved it off and replied.

"Don't worry, he's just like that. Now if you'll excuse me..."

Amanda trailed off and stood up before emmidiately approaching the Super Mutant who was now starting the few settlers.

"Amanda! God, this Mutant wouldn't even listen me and just-"

"Strong not like little lady! Strong not listen to little lady!"

"You call me little again Mutant I'll-!"

"Will you two quit shouting? You're scaring these settlers!"

Amanda glared at the two before turning to the fearing settlers.

"It's okay! He won't hurt anyone."

"Strong is here to find milk of human kindness!"

"Oh, dear! What is that thing!?"

Amanda emmidiately spun around to see Codsworth floating at the doorway to their house.

"So, he's Codsworth, huh? Your family's mister handy."

"Oh! I see you've brought a lovely guest to our humble home, mum! And... And another unexpected guest, perhaps...?"

Amanda pinched the bridge of her nose before frustratingly turning to the settlers still watching the scene.

"It's okay. You can all go back to your businesses now. I'll take it from here."

Seeing the unsure looking settlers finally going back to their busineses on fortifying Sanctuary, Amanda turned back to the others.

"Codsworth, these are Piper Wright, and Strong. A Super Mutant. We should all head inside..."

"Oh, certainly mum. I shall prepare some snack for you and our visitors then!"

"Robot, Strong wants milk of human kindness!"

Seeing Strong surprisingly following inside the house, Amanda rubbed her temples. She wasn't really expecting things to happen fast, but at least it turned out pretty fine. At least for that matter.

"So, this was your humble home before the war... A nice place, I must say."

Hearing Piper commenting quietly, Amanda only sighed.

"You okay?"

Not feeling the mood to talk further Amanda only forward before giving a slight nod.

"You sure?"

"I'm fine. Just need to think..."

Seeing Piper's sudden silence Amanda frowned as she noticed the other woman studying her face. So roughly clearing her throat, Amanda slightly jerked her head towards inside the house.

"Come on, let's just have whatever Codsworth's prepared for lunch."

"Blue- Amanda. I know you're still adjusting. But you don't have to push yourself to your limits on how much you can take to see and process for one day, okay? You've seen a lot for your first time on adjusting om Commonwealth."

Amanda frowned, but giving a defeated sigh, she then gave a small nod.

"Alright, Piper..."

"Strong not see milk of human kindness!"

"Oh dear! Mister Strong, sir! Don't rummage through the fridge!"

Hearing The shouts insidethe house, Amanda only stood in silence. This wasn't how she remembered her humble, lovely home. But seeing now that there was no longer anyway turning things back to the way were, Amanda sighed.

'It's still home. I guess...'

Felling a gentle pat her back, Amanda slightly turned her head to see Piper with a gentle smile.

"Things will be fine, Amanda. You did said not to lose hope, member?"

Amanda didn't said a word, but a small nod in response, she finally led Piper inside the house and was net with a follower of bathed Dogmeat running around the living room.

"Augh! Dogmeat! Get back to the bathroom! I am not done cleaning you up yet!"

Ignoring what was going on, even the sight of Strong sitting on the floor while seemingly looking around the living room in curiosity, Amanda only sat on the old slightly dusty couch, with Piper taking a seat next to her.

"Lovely place. I'm sure, your husband would be happy to see you still living here in your humble home. Heh, even better, you still have your robot butler serving you and keeping you safe despite being both over 200 years old."

Piper gently said with a small chuckle.

Amanda only smiled simply. It was true anyways. But, the thought of Nate no longer being with her, and Shaun missing? This house wasn't housing the complete set of the Amani family, and only Codsworth was close to the family that was left to her. And the sight of Sanctuary being turned into a settlement with new faces, Amanda new that things has changed. Either for better or worse. At least she still has this old home she once lived in with her family, she still has Codsworth as the family mister handy, and now, she has new people on the house, either visitors or future members of whatever family this new face of Sanctuary can improvise to make.

"Amanda?"

Slowly turning her head to Piper who quietly called Amanda slowly raised a brow.

"You seem, quiet... Are you sure you're alright?"

Amanda could only give a small nod in response before plastering a weak smile.

"I'm fine, Piper. Becuase I'm home."

Her response wanted a small chuckle.

"It's nice to feel at home every once in a while, hm?"

"Yeah. At least. It's... A little comforting."

Amanda gently replied, and surprisingly for her afterwards, she share the same smile with Piper. It was a bit comforting she'll give it that. But she knew she can't turn her face away from the harsh reality on the Commonwealth. And Amanda knew she will have to face it. After all, she'll take her way step by step to find Nate's murder, and to get Shaun back, one way or another. So there really was nothing wrong to turn away from reality over the little comfort.

And that's it for this chapter. Sorry if it feels a bit short and rushed but that is all I can put up in for this chapter, but don't worry I will work right away on the next chapter.

Thank you all for reading and now.

Here are the responses to the previous reviews:

The Prussian Gamer - Chapter 5: Another fun filled chapter. almost makes me want to start up writing again. make a Fanfiction of Team RWBY going into Medieval Europe and have to find a way back. had that idea for a long while, never did anything with it though. well, cannot wait for the Enclave to give "freedom" to the good old Commonwealth's.

Thank you for reviewing! Although I am not sure if I can start up another new fanfiction due the still other ongoing stories needing to be finished on but I will think about your request, but for now I must focus finishing some stories before coming up on making another. And as for the Commonwealth Enclave? We will all see how the story will take a turn :)
