A/N: Hey Guys

So this is Part 2 as said by the title, because if I put all of it in one chapter, it would be too long..so there. I also felt like the initial chapter lacked in an encounter so this one checks that tick box.

I also extended a scene in the prologue and expanded in that chapter since I felt like the initial was lacking in some areas, especially motivations and whatnot. I also cleaned it up :)

Also, there won't be any references to the PJO world, at least not direct references so treat this as a whole new thing. There will be some MCU references later on so look forward to that!

This story is inspired by My Hero Academia, the idea of children learning to control their powers which also is something explored by other stories. So there might be some similarities since it's an anime I absolutely love.

There are also other influences from other stuff I've seen.

"I'm so not gonna look forward to this!" Harry groaned. "I need Aciel with me."

"You mean my dog?"

Harry nodded. "You're going to laugh at me aren't you? Can you bring our dog here please?"

I sighed and imagined where Aciel was. I created a portal and Aciel, a small Jack Terrier, complete with a black fur coat popped into his lap. He started to lick Harry's face before jumping onto my face and playfully licking my face too.

He then went back to Harry and made himself home in his lap. I couldn't help but pout a little. "You know, he's my pet technically!"

Harry hugged the little dog. "He likes both of us. And I want to keep him, he'll make me feel better," he said, giving me sad eyes.

I laughed at his facial expression and sighed. "Get your fingers ready. Chapter 2, let's go!"

Late June, a few days from July and a day after I left primary school

Location: Richmond, London

Time: Around 10 AM

Chapter 2: Kian Taylor: Origin Part 2

A few days after Primary school had finished, Harry and I were sat in my living room, playing FIFA 2002. For people who don't know what the game was, it was basically our life and since we grew up in the UK, Football was our life-oh, and for people in the States, it's football, okay, not Soccer!

There goes my American readers if there are any of you left if you get to read this that is.

Moving on from that dark thought. I was playing as Chelsea and Harry: Arsenal. (look them up if you don't know) He wanted to be Chelsea too but I wanted it to be a rivals match. We played for about 15 minutes before I won with a 2-1 score

Harry scowled as he put down his PS2 controller. "You got lucky, you know that right?"

I laughed. "Oh yeah. That own goal gave me the win, ha!"

Harry groaned and got up and headed outside. Aciel, my family pet dog was playing catch with my dad. Aciel zeroed in on Harry and jumped to his face, licking it like it was a delicious piece of meat. "Come on Acy, not again!"

Dad laughed as he came over. He was dressed in a black muscle shirt and casual red pants. With his tan, you might think he spent a lot of time at the beach. "He likes you, Harry."

"I can see that Mr Taylor. Just wish that he would stop licking my face!" Harry replied, unsuccessfully attempting to pry the dog from him. I moved over and he jumped into my hands, his tail happily wagging as he did so.

"Thanks, Kian," Harry replied. Dad handed him a tissue which he used to wipe the saliva off his face. "Thanks, Mr Taylor."

Dad nodded and then handled Aciel in his arms. "So, boys, do you want to spar today?"

"Like fighting?" I asked

Dad nodded. "It's fun and you'll get to face that fear of fighting. Remember if you want to grow stronger, you must challenge yourself!"

I nodded. "Yeah, Mum says that too. And it's not a fear, it's more like, you know, you told me that these powers were meant to protect people so how I can fight them, even hurt them?"

"Woah man, very deep," Harry said to my right.

Dad smiled and then patted my head. "Well think of it like this, if you fight someone, you're doing it to save people right? You're trying to stop a villain from going ahead with his plan."

"So?" I asked

"By hurting the villain, you're saving innocents. Does that make sense?" Dad replied. "Think of it like this, why do you want to be a hero?"

I stood there without an answer. I didn't know why I wanted to be a superhero, just that I wanted to be one. Looking back on it, I sounded like a spoiled kid, wanting something for wanting's sake.

"I d-don't know" I said rubbing my head

"Really?" Dad and Harry asked in unison.

"I don't know. Is that bad?" I asked Dad

Dad shook his head. "Having motivation allows you to keep fighting, so when you're down against the ground, you know what you're fighting for, why you keep fighting. Like I said, being a superhero is hard, so having something that allows you to get stronger helps."

"Yeah," Harry replied. "I want to be like Batman you know. I'll use my intelligence and fighting skills to take down my opponents." he deepened his voice for that last sentence.

"Anyway," Dad spoke, getting our attention. "Kina, don't worry about it. It's different for everyone." his eyes then widened. "That's why you're scared to fight, you don't know what you're fighting for. It makes sense."

"I guess," I said while rubbing my head. "I'm scared of fighting for real you know? I mean I know it looks cool but it's scary!"

Dad smiled warmly. "Kina, if you want to go to this superhero academy, you need to overcome that fear but don't worry, I know you will. Harry, put on your sparring gear, you too Kina. Get a few rounds in!" he announced

So that's what we did. Harry and I sparred together for a while. We had both fought together since we were 6 years old, Dad and Mum taught us both on how to fight properly. Harry, on the other hand, had no hesitation when it came to fighting.

Seriously, you should have seen him when he went to get the last pizza slice, he fought like a man possessed!

I dodged a punch and returned my own. I didn't feel so scared when I was fighting a friend, it was just against a stranger. Both of us loved sparring with each other and we ended up bonding over it.

Harry returned a few hooks and I blocked each one of them before judo flipping him over my hip. I mock punched him in the face and then let go. As Harry got up, he was still smiling, still up to fight me.

"Dude, seriously you're good at fighting. You're Dad's right, you need to get over that fear." He replied, shaking his arms about, getting ready for another bout.

I nodded, trying to get my breath back. "I know, I know. It's all so complex you know?"

"What I know is that if there's a bad guy, I'll punch him," Harry replied. "That's how it's done in the films and comic books, and that's how I'll do it."

"Right," I got in a fighting stance. "Ready to go again?"

Harry smiled. "Hell yeah, let's go!"

After another hour of sparring, we were pooped. We were covered in sweat as the sunny skies shone on us.

Harry laid back on the grass. "I can't breathe!" he exclaimed. "It's like my lungs have been squeezed out. I'd rather think than do this!"

"Well, Dad says you have to have a good body and mind," I replied.

"Exactly."

I turned to see my Dad with a couple of towels which he threw towards us. It landed on Harry and made him look like he was dead.

"Oh no, Harry's dead!" I joked around. Harry replied by punching me in the arm

Dad chuckled and motioned for us to come inside. "Enough jokes. Kina, Harry, go inside. It's lunchtime!"

After a shower and a change of clothes, Harry and I arrived in our living room. Yellow walls surrounded the room while a table of 6 was in the middle, with a view of the outside that we came from.

As I took in the sight. I saw Mum come in and hug the both of us. She had shoulder-length blonde hair, bright sky blue eyes that made me feel relaxed any time I saw her. I also felt two more pairs of hands hold me and I knew who it was

"Yay, it's Kina!"

It was my little brother and sister: Eren and Diana Taylor respectively. Like I, they both had jet black hair, magenta eyes and olive skin.

"Come on now," Mum replied, running a hand through their heads. "He's hungry and it's time for lunch. Aren't you hungry too?"

They nodded like they were at a rock concert. They were 8 and 6 respectively and were super adorable, at least when they were little. I made my way to our table which was loaded with bread, meats and lots of vegetables

"You know, I'm surprised-" I turned to see Dad speak. "I thought you two would be all over the food!"

Mum laughed and kissed Dad's cheek. "I'm just glad they know when to control themselves."

Dad nodded. "Well when they have someone as scary as you teaching them, they're bound to behave!"

Mum pouted. "Hey! I'll have you know that my class thinks I'm the nicest teacher ever! Kina, do you think I'm scary?" she asked me

She was, but not in the 'She would punish you mercilessly-Wicked Stepmother type of thing'

Mum was super-smart. If she would punish you, she would come up with a creative way to do so. Once I refused to eat broccoli so, being the wonderful Mum she was, she replaced all the chocolate and sweets with broccoli

She would return the sweets after I had eaten the broccoli which was simple enough.

Unfortunately, both of us were stubborn, so this went on for about a couple of months, neither one of us holding our resolve. I tried everything I knew to find the sweets but Mum had hidden it very well

I gave up and ate a piece, she returned the sweets afterwards. She still brings it up to this day which I don't find annoying at all!

"Um...no?" I replied knowing full well I would be at the end of a very creative punishment. Mum smiled and pat my head

She turned back to Dad. "See, he thinks I'm nice!"

"Only because you'd punish him!" Dad muttered.

Mum zeroed in on what he said. "What did you say?" she asked innocently

"Oh nothing sweetie," Dad smiled. "I said you're absolutely right Sweetie!"

Mum nodded. "Uh-huh, you know I'm always right. Anyway, eat up kids, don't let us stop you from having lunch!"

Lunch was delicious! Like-I know this isn't important to the plot but I have to give a shout out to my Mum's cooking, like seriously she could walk into Master Chef and win with her eyes closed. That's how good she was!

Anyway, back to lunch.

I chowed down the food, eating it at the same pace as everyone on our table, which was about the pace of an F1 car, even Harry gobbled down. Dad ate like Goku and Mum, she looked like a classy woman, ate like a Sayian too. My little sister and brother ate at a slower pace but it was still fast

We were the nightmare of buffets around the world

Harry had just eaten a piece of steak before he spoke. "Kian told me that you'll let him go to this superhero academy?"

Dad nodded and served himself some vegetables. "I did, and don't worry, you can come along too Harry."

Harry smiled happily. "Thanks, I've been meaning to test that suit out!"

Harry was an engineering genius-well he was good with machines and anything science-related. He did have Tony Stark as a teacher whenever he popped by to the UK and he could always do a really cool British Accent when he wanted to, which added more cool points

Harry asked him if he could build a mechanical suit so he helped him, a result which made him look like he came out of a sci-fi anime or cartoon. His suit involved repulsors and made him super strong when he wore it

This was before Tony became Iron Man, but he knew how to build an electromechanical suit from the get-go.

When Harry wore that in practice, he would beat me all the time, his punches were strong, he could blast me with repulsors and, well you get the idea. He wears it, he becomes strong

"He gets the laser blasts," I pouted.

Mum laughed. "I'm gonna let you in on a secret, I've been meaning to teach you this when you're older but now that you're going to go into this Superhero Academy, I might as well teach you."

I perked up and swallowed down a piece of ham. "What is it?"

"Kian, think of an object and pour all of your energy into it, make it small to start with," Mum explained.

I nodded. I thought of a small dinner plate and concentrated hard. To my surprise, a small dinner plate appeared in my hand, flickering with hazy sky blue light. Everyone but my Dad and Mum were surprised.

"Woah!" my little brother and sister cried.

"Um, Mum what is this?!" I asked her, surprised at what I had in my hand.

"It's called a Light Construct. You imagine what you want, pour your energy into it and you can create what you want." Mum explained.

"Sounds like Green Lantern," Harry deadpanned

"If it helps you, think it like that," Mum replied. "Now play around with it, know how it works."

"You know, I never knew people like us ever had these abilities," Harry said happily. "It's amazing!"

Everyone but him stopped eating. Now here's the thing, we never told Harry about what we were, Mum and Dad were strict about that, and it was something I was about to find out too.

Harry read the room and was clearly confused. "What? Did I say something wrong?"

"Mummy, are we supposed to tell him?" Diana asked

Mum gulped and looked to Dad. "Well, it was going to come up anyway. Eren, Diana play outside."

"But Mum, we want to stay?" Eren cried

"I'll give you chocolate, both of you"

With that, my little brother and sister dashed out of the dining room. Mum then turned to Harry. "Ok, Harry we're about to tell you something that you should keep very secret okay?"

"What?" Harry questioned. "Are you guys aliens or something?" he laughed

Dad couldn't help but chuckle and turned to Mum. "He took the words out of your mouth didn't he?"

Harry's smile started to fade and was replaced with question and horror. "Y-You're serious?!"

Mum nodded. "Yes, now, I know it's a lot to take in at first-"

"AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGG!" Harry screamed and fainted. His head fell on my lap so it wasn't like he cracked his head on the floor

"Well…" my dad said as he came over to us. "That's one way to react to it."

"Wait," Mum said looking in disbelief. "Harry's scared of aliens isn't he?"

"Yeah-oh, right. Yeah, I should have said that before." I replied. "I mean, I'm technically from Earth since I was born here, but I'm still an alien, right?"

Mum nodded. "Yes, now I'll move him to the sofa-"

"I think you've done enough damage, I'll do it." Dad stepped in. Mum scowled and crossed her arms.

"What?" Dad questioned. "You made him faint!"

Mum sighed and dropped her arms. "I suppose, don't break your back okay, I know you're getting old."

"Ha ha," Dad mock laughed before lifting Harry and placing him on the sofa. "Why are we still married?"

"Because you can't live without me," Mum said sweetly. "Now move him carefully, okay?"

Dad nodded and gently lifted Harry in his hands. I followed him, worried about what happened to him.

"Mum, can I ask why we can't tell people we're aliens? I mean, you just told me not to tell them?" I asked Mum and Dad

"Oh right," Dad nodded. "Well, do you know how humans have treated people different to them?

"Yeah, I mean I find that stupid, they're the same species," I said boldly. I wasn't a fan of what humans had done to each other over its history and my parents shared the same feelings.

"And do you know humans think of extraterrestrial life?" Mum asked

I nodded

"Well, there are aliens living all over the world." she continued

"For real?!" I asked. "I didn't know that!"

"Well the aliens living here look like humans, so they can blend in perfectly," Dad replied. "We look the same as humans but some have different physical characteristics"

"Like what?" I asked

Dad took off his glasses and I had to double-take. Where his once dark brown took place, Scarlet red took its place. "See, I have natural red eyes, and I have to hide them behind these specially designed glasses, they change eye colour when you wear them, see?"

Dad demonstrated the effect by moving the glasses in front of his eyes.

"Is that why I have glasses?" I asked. "I know purple isn't a natural eye colour for humans."

Mum nodded. She moved and took off my glasses, inspecting them with careful eyes. "I'm sorry we got this, this was the only one that could change purple to a human colour available at that time. "

"Wait, I want to know, why do I have purple eyes?" I pestered. "I know you get your mum or dad's eyes."

"Well, what do you get when you mix red with blue?" Dad asked

"Well, I think-Wait, I have a mixture of your eye colours! B-But for humans, it's one or the other, not-"

Dad put a finger on my lips. "We're aren't human, so regular human genetics don't apply to us. Your brother and sister both have purple eyes, it's just a trait of our races."

I nodded. "Why do we have to hide then? Can't we use our powers and work together?"

Dad sighed. "I thought that too, but humans they're...complicated to put it at best. Some are good, some are bad. Do you know what happens when humans realise that they're aliens living on this world with them?"

I shook my head, not knowing the answer.

"They'll treat them like weapons, all to wage war against one another. It's something we have to avoid. So the two worlds are kept secret, for if each knew of the other, society would collapse." Mum explained

I nodded. "Keep the secret, got it okay. But what about Harry?"

Mum put her hands on my shoulders. "We trust him, we can only tell people we trust to not go babbling on."

"Yeah, Harry won't snitch on anyone." I smiled, knowing how loyal he was. As I said it, he murmured and woke up

"Oh hey, how are you doing?" Mum asked him

Harry looked scared before speaking. "So it's true? You're all aliens?"

"Well I was born here, so I'm technically from Earth," I replied. "I should have said how you're scared of aliens."

"No, no it's okay. I don't think you were expecting your parents to tell me today," he groaned as he sat up. "And I always thought aliens were supposed to be all scary, and you know, wanting to conquer humanity"

Dad scoffed. "That's because you watch too many films, Harry, not all aliens are like that."

Harry nodded. "So, aliens exist?"

We all nodded.

"Right. Wait, why are you guys, you know, human?" Harry asked. "Aren't you supposed to be all green and whatnot?"

Mum rolled her eyes. "This is like a classic isn't it?" 'Why do you look human?' Ace, explain please?"

"Sure Darling. See, the human form is really efficient, so many races across the universe have forms like that." Dad explained. "We have slight differences, but we are almost identical to humans

Harry nodded. "So why keep it a secret. You told me that I couldn't tell anyone about this?"

Mum and dad proceeded to explain why. He took the news well-after screaming like a banshee and then fainting. He then spoke. "Well, you can count on me not to tell anyone. You can trust me!"

Mum and Dad nodded. "We know."

I heard footsteps and saw my little brother and sister running in. "Did you tell them mummy?" they asked

Mum nodded. "He knows." she turned to me. "Oh, Kian. I've been meaning to tell you. I got you something."

She then handed me a sleeker pair of glasses, ones that made me look much cooler than the nerdy Harry Potter glasses I had. "Try it," Mum said kindly

I exchanged my glasses and wore them. As the pair sat on my nose, I glanced at the mirror to see that I did look somewhat cooler. If I remember correctly, my face well, looked like a pudgy marshmallow, complete with a mop of spiky black hair over my forehead. But then again I was 12. Mum said how she could squeeze my cheeks all-day in a loving way but I found it annoying

What I'm trying to say is, I looked a lot different when I was 12, that's it.

"You really look like Superman now," Harry whistled. "Now all I need is a billion dollars."

"Mum, can we have Ice Cream?" Eren asked suddenly. Mum turned to him and then me. "Kian, can you go and get some Ice Cream?"

"But Mum, I've just trained!" I complained. Mum didn't buy it however, she narrowed on to me before speaking

"Come on, Kina. It's just a short walk, and take Harry with you!" she spoke, running a hand through our hair. "And what's a little more exercise to you, if you want to be super strong, then you have to work really hard!"

"Yeah, yeah. I'll go," I grumbled

So that's what we did, we went to our nearby Tesco (like a massive supermarket in the UK) to get some ice cream, my Mum had even given us cash.

Now, this is where it got interesting. We were on the way back home, I had 3 tubs of ice cream, chocolate flavoured, of course, dangling in the carrier bag that Mum had given to us. She always had a cupboard full of that stuff

Anyway, as I made our way home, trying to complete the 20-minute journey that we did occasionally. We were walking through a park when Harry spoke up

"You know, I think those glasses are much better than the ones you had." He replied, chewing on some bubble gum.

"Yeah, I think so too," I replied. "It makes me look like Superman actually, too bad I don't have laser vision or anything."

"Yeah, that would be sick," I replied. "All I have is telekinesis and this light ability I just found out."

"Are you sure-"

BANG!

The bubble that Harry had been forming in his mouth burst unexpectedly making me jump in shock. I turned to him but he shook his head.

"That wasn't me," he replied. "At least I think."

"Your right, it wasn't."

I turned to see a man who looked like he was in his mid-thirties. His silver hair was messy as it streaked his forehead and he looked at us with malicious intent. "Oooh, you look so young, you'll do fine."

Both of us tensed up. Harry spat out his bubblegum and faced him. "Are you getting a bad vibe off him?"

I nodded. "Yeah, it's poisonous."

Without warning, he thrust his arms out and a swarm of needles surged towards my face. I instinctively moved our shopping bag upwards, cowering behind it. When I looked up, I saw that all those needles were stuck in place

Harry gasped. "Oh my god. The Carrier Bag saved you!"

I threw it away from me. "Yeah." I turned to face this needle person who looked at us with shock. He licked his lips. "Oooh, feisty. I'll like killing you."

We realised what he had tried to do to us. Harry spoke out. "Is he serious?!"

"Well given how he's looking at us, I'd say yeah."

The man thrust his arms out and another swarm of needles surged forward. I raised my arm and stopped the needles

"You couldn't have done that to him?" Harry asked

"Nope, he's not in my range," I replied, I sent the needles flying by moving my arm to my right. The man looked surprised before he drew out a longer needle, one in the shape of a knife.

"I'm going to slash you up!" he screamed as he ran for us.

He ran to us in a few seconds and he slashed at where our chests would be. Harry and I dodged the slash, but he kept it up, a manic smile on his face as he swung his blade

"What do we do?!" Harry shouted. "If it hadn't been for your Dad's training, we would be bleeding out now!"

"I don't know?!" I replied back. He kicked Harry in the chest and attempted the same on me. I dodged and used my telekinesis to fight back, pushing him across the field, although it left my head with a little bit of pain, my head felt heavy and there was a numbing sensation behind my forehead

I ran over and pulled Harry up. "You okay?"

He nodded. "Yeah. I am, it's not that bad."

I looked up to see the man running at us again. Whoever he was, he was crazy. He slashed at Harry's head but I blocked it with my arm, tearing the sleeve and leaving a gash on my arm

But before I could even shout in pain, I was kneed in the stomach and punched in the face. He grabbed me and then threw me on the ground causing my whole world to go blurry.

Looking back on it, if Harry wasn't there, I would have been a goner. He sharply moved, punching him in the groin, kicking his kneecap, making it bend inwards and punched him square in the chest.

"That's what you get for attacking my best friend!" he finished it off with a punch to the face but on the second punch, his hand was caught.

The man looked up and judo flipped him before kicking him in the face multiple times. I tried to get up, but he pinned me down with needles, each one snagging my clothes. Every needle felt like dad's weights on my arms were placed on my limbs

The man looked at Harry, a needle aimed over his heart. "You'll all be so great as a corpse. How many will I have when I kill everyone here, this world will run with their blood!"

I could feel a burning rage swell within me. All those innocent people, they did nothing to him and he's going to kill them all. I looked back to Harry, his face filled with cuts and a busted lip, his eyes were glossed over

The man laughed darkly like he was a discount Joker. "I'll keep killing, more and more. Families, mothers, fathers, children. Just corpses ready to be made, I'll start with you."

(Play His World, instrumental version)

I thought of my family, how happy we were, how much we laughed and enjoyed each other's company. Anger swelled up deep within me, how dare he hurt him! I wasn't going to let this murderer kill him or anyone else in this world!

I didn't know it in the moment but looking back on it, that was where I found my purpose, my motivation for being a hero. Why I kept fighting for so long.

I grit my teeth and tried to stand up, pushing my 11-year-old body to its very limits. I wasn't going to let my best friend die! I wasn't going to let anyone die today. As much as I tried, the needles still felt heavy, like I was bolted to the ground

'Come on!" I yelled at myself. "Come on!"

I looked up to see the knife a few inches away from Harry's chest and everything turned red. The needles felt like matchsticks as it snapped. I rose from the ground and ran, my body felt stronger, warmer like I was someone else entirely

"RAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGG!" I roared. I dashed towards the man, punching him across the face as my fist met his cheek to the symphony of cracking bones. I felt no fear fighting someone like my worries had evaporated with the heat of battle

I kept up the barrage, punching him with hooks, crosses each one hitting its mark and finishing it off with a judo flip. I roundhouse kicked him across the face, sending him flying across the field.

I looked back to see Harry and ran to him. Apart from the cuts, he was fine, although he could have been knocked unconscious by the force of the impact. He was breathing so I think he was okay

I heard a piercing sound and turned to see a needle a few inches from my face. It moved in slow motion almost and would have pierced my eye had something not taken it off course.

BANG!

Suddenly the needle vanished from sight, taking both of us by surprise. The needle guy looked confused before another gunshot was heard. I looked to see a bunch of nets appear and capture the needle guy. He tried to break out of it but amber swords appeared out of thin air and restrained him, alongside 4 huge square shields that became his prison

"Your under arr-OH MY GOD!"

(Music End)

I turned to see where the voice came from and had to double-take at what I saw. It was Mr Silva. His blonde hair was now as long as his chin, blue eyes now replaced by golden amber. He was dressed in a black waist-length coat, revealing lots of holsters

"Mr Silva?!" I asked him

He came over and crouched near us. "Actually, call me Rennan. What happened? Don't spare a single detail, okay?"

As I explained what happened. I saw more people arrive. One of them looked like Mr Silva-Rennan I guess but his hair was cut short and he held a sheath and he held a neutral expression. He wore a stylish black long coat along with dark trousers

With him followed a boy that looked he was around my age. His black hair was messy as it draped over his forehead. He was dressed in a black tracksuit complimenting his Crimson coloured his eyes, complete with a scowl made him look very intimidating

"Oh my goodness! Are those boys okay?" A female voice spoke out. She too had blonde hair and amber eyes and was dressed in what looked like a full-body suit and padding.

Behind her was a girl of around my age too. Her brown hair was loose as it cascaded past her shoulders. She had a tanned complexion, similar to mine. Her emerald green eyes were fixed on like, scanning wat was present

"Move over Spiky hair, I can heal him," she replied calmly

I looked at Mr Silva and he nodded. She moved and placed a palm on Harry's face, healing him in as his face glowed with a green glow

"Alvennan," the crimson eyed boy said. "Why didn't I get to fight him?"

"Because you would have been killed," Alvennan spoke calmly. He then turned to us. "How did two survive?!"

I shrugged. "I don't know, we just, you know tried our best."

"That's Bullcrap!" the crimson eyed boy shouted. "You managed to beat a serial killer by just 'trying your best', I don't buy it!"

"You believe it, that's what happened," Harry replied, getting off the ground. "Can you guys tell me one more thing?"

Rennan perked up. "What is it?"

"Who are you and what's going on?!"

Rennan turned to me. "Kian, does he know about this?"

I nodded.

"Wait, Mr Silva?!" Harry asked again. "I thought I was hallucinating!"

"It's him, don't worry," Alvennan said. "Care to explain what just happened?"

Rennan nodded. "Yeah, yeah I was getting to it. Okay, Harry what happened was there was someone with a needle superpower who tried to kill you two. I was in the area and I came in, my brother and cousin came in to help."

"Why?" I asked. "Why were you in the area?"

"Well, superheroes sometimes patrol their designated sector," the brown-haired girl spoke. "It's what you get after you become a pro."

"Yeah, no villains would ever stand against me!" the crimson eyed boy spoke, his face stuck in a manic smile. "I'll kill them!"

"Marcel, heroes aren't supposed to kill!" Alvennen scolded.

I was confused. "Wait, are you guys talking about this hero academy?!"

"So he knows?" the blonde woman spoke.

"Yeah, he always wanted to go there," Rennan spoke. "Kian, Harry go home and tell your parents what happened okay. We need to enforce a safe zone, who knows what other murderers are out there."

Alvennan nodded. "As expected. We'll round the perimeter. I'll be reporting this to the council"

Rennan then turned to us. "Alvin, do you mind if I take these two home?"

"It's Alvennan! But yeah. Kendra, can you capture our villain?" Alvennen asked.

Kendra nodded, wiping a loose bang from her forehead. "Yeah, on it Alvin."

Alvennen scoffed and turned back. "You two go home."

The girl nodded while Marcel grit his teeth. "I knew I shouldn't have followed you here, I was expecting a fight!"

"You would have died, Marcel. It's a miracle that those two survived, let alone win." Alvennan pointed to us. "No offence."

"I'll beat a villain one day!" Marcel replied cracking his knuckles. "See ya, Glasses."

"Did he mean me?!" I pointed to myself as he walked away.

"Yeah, he did. He's usually blunt that way." the girl replied.

"I can see that," Harry replied.

"Hmm, you've been trained to fight haven't you?" she asked me. "Especially you."

"I mean yeah. But I normally don't want to fight, I find it scary." I replied sheepishly

"Could have fooled me. Those punches, that intensity. If your scared, you didn't show it." she replied

"Did I?"

"You did," Rennan spoke out. "If Varahad was here, he would surely think twice before attacking you."

The rest nodded. I remembered what I felt, the thrill of being in the moment, each movement felt right, like it was something I was born to do.

"I mean I got a cut on my arm-"

"I don't see any cuts." the girl replied. "You should be proud you know"

"What, I mean this one-" I looked to where my cut was but to my surprise, there wasn't any blood, just a tear on my arm. Somehow, the cut had healed itself during the fight, by something I had yet to know

Rennan then spoke out. "Right. Well, I'll take these two home. You two deal with the paperwork, I know you like it, Alvin."

Alvennan scowled. "Yeah, it's what I enjoy the most," he replied sarcastically.

The girl nodded and then began walking away. "Later. If you choose to apply, well then good luck"

I began thinking of walking back home but soon realised that I forgot something. I looked back to where I dropped our bag and hoped that the ice cream hadn't melted

"No, we lost the ice cream!" Harry beat me to it. He scrambled and got out the melting tubs, all of them with needle marks.

"That's unfortunate," Rennan sighed. "I'll tell you what, I'll buy you the ice cream. It's the least I could do."

"Really?" Harry and I said in unison. Rennan nodded and started walking. "Come on, I'll take you home. I'll also get that ice cream."

Rennan escorted us home, with a new tub of ice cream in our hands. It would have been great but Rennan had brought strawberry ice cream. I didn't have the heart to tell him, especially after he saved my life

"So," I spoke up. "Can you explain what happened?"

"Not in public," Rennan replied. He had slid his glasses, and his eyes were blue once again. His hair was still long, parted from the middle.

"Why?" Harry asked

"Do you know why the two worlds have to be kept separate?

"Something about society collapsing?" Harry asked

Rennan nodded. "Exactly, we can't talk about our stuff in public and each of us are charged with keeping civilians safe, especially our own homes."

"So, you're like me?" I asked my teacher.

"Well I'm not a child, I'm 25 but I am from up there," Rennan replied by pointing up to the sky. "I grew up here though, I'm from London tI nodded

"Mum was right. There are other races living here!"

"One more thing," Harry stated. "What happened to your hair and eyes"

Both of us stared at him, sweat dropping at his question. Rennan answered anyway. "It's like a disguise when I'm off duty. See, on Earth, if we do hero work, you know, saving people and whatnot, humans can't see us. We use memory wipers-"

"Like from Men in Black?!" Harry blurted out.

"No. Yes. Sort of. Anyway, back to me. I have a human disguise: One you would know as your teacher and one, well this." Rennan finished.

"Your glasses are like mine aren't they?" I said. "Mum says that I shouldn't take them off in public and with what she told me, I get it, she just wants to keep me safe."

Rennan nodded. "Indeed, magenta isn't a natural eye colour."

"Yeah, I know-wait, how did you know about my natural eye colour?" I questioned my teacher. His eyes darted around us, trying to come up with an answer

"Wait, Kian you have purple eyes?" Harry asked. "I thought you had brown eyes."

Before I could answer, I realised I was on my driveway as a red and blue BMW took up my vision. The door quickly opened and my parents ran out, hugging us immediately

"Are you okay?!" Mum asked.

"Yeah, we are. How did you know?" I asked surprised that she knew about what happened in the park earlier.

"I told them, that's how they know," Rennan replied. He turned to Dad and Mum. "I'm sorry, I should have been there sooner."

"Wait, you know my parents?" I questioned him.

If he was a regular teacher, he would be there for parents evening, you know, where a teacher talks to your parents about how you're doing in school. Well, Mr Silva, he never turned up and no one questioned it, his place was normally taken place by another

"Yeah. They taught me the fundamentals when I trained to be a hero," Rennan replied.

"You did?!" Harry and I said in Unison. "Why didn't you tell us?!"

Dad turned to me. "Well, we were going to! But I guess now's the best time. Kian, Harry meet Rennan Silva, or by his Hero Name: Rebellion."

"You went to the same hero academy that I'm trying to go to?" I asked him. He nodded while he sat across from me.

We had moved indoors now, which meant what was about to be discussed was safe. Mum and my little siblings were playing with her outdoors.

"Kian, this hero academy is hard to get into. Only the finest people are taken in and even then, a lot of people drop out. Are you sure you want to go?" Rennan asked again

I nodded. "If I want to save people, protect against people like who tried to kill them, then I have to be strong, and I'll do it. I'll be the best I can possibly be!"

Dad narrowed his eyes. "Interesting, is that your motivation? Your goal?"

I nodded. "Yeah, after what happened, what he said, it struck a nerve. I wasn't going to let innocent people die, especially not my family!"

Dad rubbed my head. "See, I knew you would find it. All it took was a life or death moment for you to find it."

"I'm not doing that again!" Harry replied, Aciel in his hands.

"Yeah, he's just like you, Sir," Rennan replied. "The entrance exams are in about a month, so get practising. Both of you"

Harry and I nodded. "Yeah, we will!"

I remembered what Rennan had told his brother when they saved us. "Rennan, this is about what happened."

Rennan stood up on the sofa. "Yes? Go ahead, I'll help you as much as I can."

"Well, you said that guy had a Needle Superpower. What did you mean by that?" I asked.

"Right. Well, there are people with abilities all over the Milky Way Galaxy, and they're abilities are classified as Superpowers, that person you faced had an ability to control and produce needles. Many people go to this hero Academy to control and learn about their abilities so that they can be Superheroes." Rennan explained

"What about you?" Harry asked Rennan. "What's your superpower?"

Rennan chuckled. "I can't show it to you indoors but it's to do with Guns, mainly projectile control and types of guns."

"Wow, that's so cool!" I replied. "What would mine be?"

"Well, physical abilities aside. You have telekinesis and the ability to harden light, your Mum and Njoro are experts in this." Rennan replied

"Who's Njoro?" I asked

"He's the Current Symbol of Peace and the 1st ranked hero," Dad jumped in. "We used to be rivals back in the day before I retired that is. He's as strong as me!"

"No way?!" Harry and I blurted out.

"Yes way," Rennan stated. "Seriously, you should have seen the two go against each other. They're unstoppable!"

"Well, I have to be stronger than him too!" I declared. "I'll be the Symbol of Peace!"

Dad and Rennan exchanged a proud glance and then turned to me. "Sure you will. His punch can change the weather, did you know that?"

My jaw dropped at the mention. "Seriously?!

"That's a powerful punch!" Harry deadpanned.

"I know that!" I replied.

"So, do you still want to be the greatest?" Rennan asked again.

I nodded. "It's what I was made for. Mum and Dad told me how people with powers are meant to protect those without, that it's the duty of the strong to protect the innocent, so I'll do just that!"

Rennan smirked and then got up. He walked to the doorway, slipping his red waistcoat over his black shirt. "I'll see you guys later okay? Good luck!"

With that, he closed the door and left. Leaving me to face Dad in our living room. He turned to us. "So, boys, you ready to train?"

"Yeah, if I want to save this world, save everyone, then I have to be the strongest!" I replied. "What about you Harry?"

"You know, I'm in it for the fun of it, but yeah, saving the world is a good motive," Harry said.

"You better get ready, Kian," Dad replied as he stood up. "Mum and I will train you the best we can, and it's going to be hard!"

I nodded. "I wouldn't have it any other way, you said I needed to be challenged to grow stronger right?"

"Attaboy, now come on!"

With that, we trained our butts off towards these entrance exams, neither of us knew what to expect from this entrance exam but we kept our hopes high. In that time, I had gotten good with my telekinesis and gotten a handle on the light construct ability that Mum had shown me

She explained that I need to concentrate on an image in my head and pour all my energy into it. She also explained that the more I did it, the easier it got which meant I could get stronger.

This was just the start of my journey to where I am now and I was in for a whole new adventure.
