Words Aren't Enough
Chapter 42
Hours Later
In the morning
Sunshine and bright blue sky were the first sights residents of Tree Hill had this morning.
The combined aromas of cinnamon waffles, saausage and eggs. With mint tea filled the home.
Surprised at how well she slept Astrid got out of bed, ready for the day and dressed under an hour. She walked down the stairs with a smile on her face.
"Morning sweetheart." Lucas said with a warm smile.
"Good morning daddy." Astrid said. Taking a seat at one of the chairs surrounded by the long dining table. She was wearing a white Free Spirit tank top, dark wash jeans, purple sneakers, Her hair was up in a messy bun. She had her purse by her side and her bookbag down by her feet.
"Today is going to go better then you expect just you wait and see." Lucas said. Bringing the last of the breakfast plates to the table. Before he took his seat at the head of the table.
Rapid footsteps came down the stars next.
"It's my first day od preschool!" Lydia exclaimed happily. She was wearing grey pattered jersery dress, with pink leggings, and Under armor kids multi colored sneakers.
Lucas smiled up at her. "You have the best day. You are going to have so much fun." He said.
"Daddy's right you have so much too look forward too." Brooke said.
"Time for the annual first day of school picture." Brooke said.
Astrid got up from her seat and joined Lydia. Wrapping her arms around the toddler in a big hug. As the two smiled at the camera.
Brooke beamed as she looked over the photo.
"After breakfast i'll take you to school and you're dad will pick you up." Brooke said. Looking to Lydia.
"As for you Astrid you're driving to school for the first time. So please be careful and text us when you get there." Lucas said. Passing her the keys.
"I will. Neither of you have nothing to worry about. Thank you for trusting me." Astrid said. Putting away the car keys as she looked back at her parents.
"I already told you multiple times. They are not you're parents. And Astrid isn't you're sister. When are you going to understand that Lydia." Jamie said. Focusing his gaze ob the young girl as he made his way to his seat wearing all black.
"That isn't true! You're just being mean!" Lydia exclained.
