~Right After, Mandalay's Message~
"So villains have infiltrated the campsite?" Tsu questioned as she and Uraraka were still walking with Jack between them.
"That's what Mandalay's message said, we need to get back to the campsite." Uraraka said.
Jack nodded in agreement, before she stopped, and pivoted her head to the right. While she turned in that direction, she pulled back on Uraraka and Tsu's arms, pulling them back just in time to avoid a knife flying towards Tsu's head, that went zinging past them and imbedding itself into a tree. Unfortunately it nicked one of Uraraka's arms.
"Ow. Nice reflexes Jack." Uraraka said as she and Tsu regained their footings.
"Ochako, is your arm okay?" Tsu asked.
"Yeah I'm fine." Uraraka said. "It's just a scratch."
"Uraraka?" Jack asked looking at her arm
"Don't worry Jack, everything's gonna be all right." Uraraka smiled softly at her.
"My-my, it seems that one of you was able to sense where my attack was coming from." A new voice said gaining their attention.
Coming out of the bushes where the knife came from, was a young woman, around Tsu and Uraraka's age, wearing a high school uniform with a cream colored sweater. Her blonde hair was done up in two messy buns, and she had on a mask that covered her face, and a device on her back, that looked like it was meant for storing a liquid of some sort. They both shivered at the thought of what that liquid might be. Breast Size: C-Cup.
The girl pulled the knife from the tree it imbedded into, and examined the blood residue on it.
"Hmm shallow, not much blood." She said.
"What kind of person slashes people out of nowhere, and throws knives at them like that, just who do you think you are?" Tsu asked.
"I'm Toga. Geeze, you three are super cute. Uraraka and Asui." She said pointing the blade at them. "An' the little escaped experiment from one of the boss's labs, that All Might's granddaughter infiltrated. You look a little different from the photo we saw of you."
"How does she know who we are?" Uraraka questioned.
"Maybe from the Sports Fest? We know nothing about her, so we're at a disadvantage." Tsu said. "Stay on guard."
"Himiko Toga. Quirk Transform. Villain Rank-A, wanted for multiple homicides and mutilations of innocent civilians. Has a blood obsession and fetish, and has to consume blood in order to use her Quirk. Similar to how Stain had to consume the blood of his victims to paralyze them." Jack exclaimed.
"How do you know that about her?" Uraraka asked.
"Scythe and Aunt Yang did independent research into who might join the League of Villains, I sort of helped Scythe, and she was on the list of potential threats." Jack said.
"Not enough blood." Toga said, obviously having not payed attention to anything Jack had said as she removed a needle like device from part of the machine on the main storage part of it. "Normally I'd suck it directly from the cut to make it flow, but there's no time. Don't worry girls, this machine will start pumping it out as soon as I stick it in you. I'll get my fill and move on."
"Careful." Jack said.
"Who's first?" Toga questioned before she started running for them.
"Ochako, Jack." Tsu said, wrapping her tongue around them and throwing them out of harm's way from Toga.
"Tsu." Jack called out.
"You have to get back to camp. We got permission to use our Quirks to protect ourselves, not to counterattack. I'm sure that's what Mr. Aizawa meant. Keep Jack safe." Tsu called out to them.
"Tsu come on." Uraraka called out.
"I'll be right behind you." Tsu said.
"Look out." Jack cried.
Tsu turned around, just as Toga came charging at her, ready to strike with her blade. However there was an interference, as a much larger blade, came zipping down and shattered the blade of the smaller knife.
"Get away from her." Jack screamed, pushing off Uraraka and going down to face Toga.
When Jack landed, she built up a cloud of dust, and with that to her advantage, she quickly changed into the same clothes she wore during the incident at I-Island, minus the shirt under the vest, and pulled out the rest of the belt of knives she had hidden in her pants. When that was finished within the fraction of a second, Jack leapt out of the dust cloud and slashed upwards at Toga, with a lightning empowered axe kick, that Toga dodged, and when it made impact with the ground, rocks flew up and Jack swung at them with the flat sides of her blades, and they hit Toga, sending her more than a couple steps back.
"Wow, you're pretty good with a blade, and hand to hand combat it seems. For someone your age." Toga smiled.
"Jack, that top is way to risqué for someone your age to be wearing without a shirt underneath." Uraraka said, as she and Tsu stood by one another.
"You two get going, I'll keep Toga busy." Jack said.
"No way, we're not leaving you." Tsu exclaimed.
"Just go, we don't have time to be arguing about this." Jack said as she began trading blows with Toga.
Each time they blocked each other's attacks, sparks flew through the air.
"Jack, we can't leave you." Uraraka said.
"I'll be fine. After all, I am one of All Might's granddaughters." Jack smiled, before she intentionally fell to the ground, causing Toga to lose her balance, before doing a leg sweep, and knocking her to the ground, before Jack flipped up, and took a fighting stance. "An' I don't just throw that title around all willy-nilly. I only say it when I know I can win."
"Jack, Ruby is intrusting you to us, we can't just let you do this." Tsu said as Toga picked herself up.
"Just go, I told you I'll be fine." Jack said as a circle of blackened earth about a foot's length in circumference, surrounded her. "After all…"
A pillar of pink and red lightning enveloped Jack, blinding Tsu, Uraraka, and Toga before it died down, revealing a large lump on the ground, like it was kneeling before it shot out at lightning fast speeds slamming a fist into Toga's stomach and knocking her through several trees. Standing there where Toga had been standing, was Jack in her Argonaut form, her scales fully formed, looking the same age as them, her knife handles having knuckle guards and leather tussels on the ends.
"Scythe isn't the only one with an Argonaut form." Jack said, hopping lightly on her feet, like she was boxing. "Scythe passed this skill onto me, when we were on I-Island, facing off against Wolfram."
"I think she's got this." Uraraka said, grabbing Tsu's arm and running off.
"You're an interesting one." Toga said.
"I've gotten my wish granted. I have a family, and I am not about to let you or the League of Villains ruin that for me." Jack said.
"Well, let's hope you can back up your bravado." Toga smirked pulling down her mask, and running toward Jack, with a smile on her face.
Jack sidestepped as she spun around and slammed her elbow into Toga's back, before the blonde rolled forward and threw a knife at Jack.
Jack blocked the attack, and jumped forward, slamming another axe kick down on the ground, creating a much larger impact, that would have paralyzed Toga if it hit her, before she jumped up and threw another blade at Jack. This one had something attached to it, which caused a smokescreen to cover them, before Toga managed to get away.
"Damn it, she got away."
"JACK."
Jack turned around at the call of her name, and nearly screamed when she saw Tsu, Uraraka, and Shoji, running at her, being chased by a monstrous Dark Shadow.
"Jack, we're needing a burst of lightning NOW." Uraraka cried out.
Jack took in a deep breath, and regulating her output, let loose a lightning filled breath attack that lit up the night sky, and caused Dark Shadow to shrink, and allow Tokoyami to regain control.
"Everyone okay?" Jack asked.
"Yeah, aside from the fact we nearly got eaten by Tokoyami's Quirk, we're just fine." Uraraka said, panting heavily. "What about you, did you get that girl?"
"Unfortunately she got away." Jack said.
"Never knew you had an Argonaut form to." Tsu exclaimed.
"I've only had it since I-Island." Jack exclaimed. "I don't know how, but as I said, I think Scythe somehow gave me the power to use an Argonaut form as well. The only thing is, when I'm fighting with my Quirk, I'm only able to sustain it for an hour and a half at most, if I'm not fighting, I can sustain it for at least six hours. I've been training on improving that timeframe though."
"Well, whatever the case, it's a good thing you were able to do the roar." Shoji exclaimed.
"You're hurt." Jack said, noticing Shoji's bleeding stump.
"It's fine, my actual hand didn't get sliced off, only a duplicate did." Shoji explained.
"What are we going to do now?" Tsu asked.
"The villains are after Bakugo, so we have to help him." Tokoyami said.
"Like hell I need anybody's help."
They all turned to see Bakugo coming with Todoroki coming up from behind carrying a student on his back.
"You're okay." Uraraka sighed.
"Papa." Jack cheered hugging him.
"What, get off me, who are you?" Bakugo asked.
"Bakugo, that's Jack. She's got an Argonaut form like Scythe." Tsu exclaimed.
Bakugo looked at Tsu, then at Jack and realized it was her, when recognizing the scars on her face, and the hair color.
"Jack?" Bakugo questioned.
"Hi Papa." Jack smiled.
"Alright, now that we're all here, we need to get back to camp." Uraraka said.
"I can be our sensory lookout. I don't need my Quirk for that." Jack exclaimed.
"Alright, let's go." Shoji exclaimed.
As they were all making their way back to camp, Jack kept having to look around, as she was sensing someone was following them, but couldn't exactly pinpoint where, until it was in one location long enough for her to know for sure.
"Tokoyami duck."
The bird headed Quirk user did just that, before Jack's knife came zipping past him, and imbedding itself into the shoulder of a man dressed in a tuxedo, with a big top hat, and a mask on his face, completed with a big trenchcoat.
The blade piercing his shoulder caused him to scream out in pain, before Jack ran up and roundhouse kicked him in the head, knocking him into a tree.
"Very impressive my dear. You were able to tell where I was, and see through my slight-of-hand." He said, grunting in pain as he pulled her knife out, or tried to at least.
"Don't even bother with trying to remove my blade." Jack said. "The back is serrated, if you pull it out, you'll not only bleed to death, but you'll lose your ability to move that arm, since the serrated edge is more than likely pressing against the cluster of nerves that connects your arm to your body's nerve system."
"You seem rather knowledgeable for a girl as young as yourself. Call me, Mr. Compress." He exclaimed.
"Jack." She said simply. "An' I'm gonna let you in on a little secret." She smiled. "In my old life, I was known far and wide by a name who was famous for his work in England. There were even plays and musicals made about me."
"Oh and what pray tell were you known as my dear?" Mr. Compress asked, obviously sounding smug.
Jack smiled and reached up removing the mask from Mr. Compress's face, before she answered.
"Jack the Ripper." She smirked, crushing the mask in her hand, enjoying the look of horror that Mr. Compress instantly gained. "Now, it was a shame that the doctor who was falsely identified as me took the fall. I never planned on that happening. But what could I have done? A little girl claiming to be the serial killer, who had been tormenting London? No one would have believed me."
"Jack, you're not making any sense." Bakugo exclaimed.
"From how you're describing the events, you make it sound like more than simple reincarnation." Mr. Compress exclaimed.
"Because it wasn't as simple as that." Jack exclaimed. "To be honest, I'm not entirely human myself. As Jack the Ripper, I was just a group of orphaned children's souls all clustered in into one body, all with the same wish. Just wanting a loving mother, and to stop the unloving prostitutes from throwing away their children like they're garbage. But it all stopped, when my wish was granted, after I as a heroic spirit, had been summoned to this time period. I had been stored in an incubation container, for I don't know how long, and when I woke up again, I knew my wish had been granted, as the only soul within my body, was my own, with all the others gone."
"Jack." Uraraka said, her voice dripping with sympathy.
"You weren't human to begin with. You were a wraith, a being cultivated of all the negative emotions, of vengeful spirits comprised into one form." Mr. Compress exclaimed.
"Yes." Jack said. "Though I might have been a child, I learned how the human body functioned through all I did. An' if I'm being honest, it sickened me. Being reduced to a simple murderer just because I didn't have a loving mother or father. All their negative emotions, all their hate, and their spirits, all singled me out, as I was the only one who could hold them all, but the price came at my own sanity. But that all ended, when my wish was granted by Ruby Rose, and Katsuki Bakugo."
"Jack." Katsuki said, hugging her from behind. "The important thing is to learn from those experiences, they weren't your fault."
"As sweet as this is, I do have a job to do." Mr. Compress said, touching Jack's leg, and both Bakugo and Jack disappeared, replaced by a single blue marble.
Before any of the other students could react, Mr. Compress grabbed the marble, and tapped Tokoyami on the shoulder turning him into a marble and grabbing it and leaping out of the path before Shoji could grab him.
"I bid you all adieu." Mr. Compress smirked running off into the forest.
"After him, we can't let him get away with Jack and Bakugo." Uraraka called out.
"I have an idea. Uraraka, Shoji, get ready to fly."
"What?"
~Villain's Rendezvous Point~
"Is everybody present and accounted for?" A villain with a patch job face questioned.
"We're still waiting on Spinner, Big Sis Magna, Toga, and Muscular." A man dressed in a full body suit, with the color schemes of dark blue and grey, said. "Let's not forget about Compress. We should wait for them a bit longer. Let's leave those posers behind." He exclaimed, his voice changing periodically.
"Twice, you really gotta work on reigning in your dual personality." Toga said coming out of the forest to them.
"Did you get any blood samples?" Dabi asked.
"Unfortunately, I barely got one. It's barely a drop, but it came from that Ochako Uraraka girl." Toga said, holding up a small jar with barely any blood in it.
"What? You were supposed to get at least three. You're useless. Don't fret, you did your best." Twice exclaimed.
"Well I'm sorry, but there was someone with similar abilities to Scythe Xiao Long who was my enemy, and she was even more skilled with a knife than I am. They're bigger, sharper, and she has actual hand to hand combat training, which makes her twice as deadly as me. An' I am not skilled enough to survive against someone like that." Toga said putting the jar away. "It was that little girl that Shigaraki said Dr. Garaki had been experimenting on. She's somehow able to temporarily accelerate her age just like her cousin."
"Hmm, that is a problem…" Dabi said.
"Dabi, Twice, we've got a situation." Spinner said, as he and Magna came running to their rendezvous spot. "The Nomu was taken down, and so was Muscular."
"What? Who could have been strong enough to take down Muscular, let alone the Nomu?" Dabi questioned.
"Whoever they are, we should steer clear of them. Let's go kick their asses." Twice proclaimed.
"It was Midoriya, he took out the Nomu." Magna said. "I'm not surprised, given he's got the strength of the Nomu Shigaraki used when he attacked the USJ."
"But it was Scythe Xiao Long, who took down Muscular." Spinner said.
"Impossible. How could she have overpowered him?" Toga asked.
"We don't know. But she looked extremely different, and she spoke some weird language whenever she opened her mouth, like she wasn't even human." Spinner said.
"Well she's not. Remember?" Dabi questioned. "She's a Faunus. Kurogiri explained it to us. Scythe and the rest of her extended family, were nabbed by him, from a world called Remnant, and she's got power hidden within her, that none of us could even hope to achieve."
"She probably unlocked a certain part of that power, which allowed her to beat Muscular." Magna said.
"Uh guy's, I think we'd better move." Twice said, looking up.
Dabi and the others looked up to see Mr. Compress falling to the ground, and jumped out of the way just as he landed on the ground, with several people on top of him, pinning him down.
"Give us back Bakugo, Tokoyami, and Jack." Uraraka shouted stomping on his back, while Todoroki and Shoji held down his arms.
"Hey I know them. Who the hell are they?" Twice shouted.
"Compress, get out of there." Dabi said, preparing to send a fire attack at them.
"I don't think so."
From out of nowhere, Yang came out of the bushes, and slammed her fist into Dabi's face, and restraining him to the ground.
"Yang." Uraraka called out.
"Uraraka, thank goodness you're all safe." Yang said, using her foot to pin down Dabi's other hand. "Where's Scythe?" Yang questioned.
"We don't know." Todoroki exclaimed.
"We do know that this guy here has Jack, and Bakugo and Tokoyami." Uraraka said.
"What?" Yang questioned.
"His Quirk allows him to compress people into tiny blue marbles." Shoji said, pulling the marbles out of his pocket.
"Release them now." Yang shouted.
"Not before you release Dabi." Toga shouted throwing a knife at her.
Yang caught the blade and with a flaming hand, melted the metal, glaring at her.
"Oh, she's got fire powers just like Dabi. Copycat." Twice cried out.
"I'm not about to let our plans fall apart just because you heroes got in the way." Dabi said.
"Is that a fact, Toya Todoroki?" Yang questioned, pulling his arm back more, and causing both his and Shoto's eyes to widen.
"How do you know that name?" Dabi questioned.
"Rei has shown me pictures of you. Said that she misses you dearly, and wants you to come home. Surrender now, as we can make this all better." Yang said. "I can get you to stay at home and you wouldn't have to go to jail, you'd just be under house arrest."
"Sorry but with the amount of people I've already killed, I'm likely to be sentenced to Death Row." Dabi exclaimed, opening his hands, and creating a burst of flames, to send Yang flying back into the forest. "Compress now."
Just before Dabi sent an attack at the three students, Mr. Compress disappeared into a blue marble, causing the three students to jump back and evade the attack.
"Hey Ochako. I think we should pick up from where we left off." Toga said, pinning her down, and sticking another needle in her arm, drawing out more blood.
"Get off of her." Todoroki shouted, sending ice at the Yandere girl off Uraraka.
"Todoroki, Uraraka, we got the marbles, we can get out of here now." Shoji said, opening his hand and showing the marbles.
"I'm afraid you're mistaken my dear boy." Mr. Compress said, reaching inside the edge of his sleeve, and pulling out two marbles, while releasing his Quirk on the ones in Shoji's hand, revealing them to be a couple of boulders. "A little misdirection and the crowd eats it up." He smiled as Kurogiri came out and began to envelope them.
"YOU BASTARD." Yang shouted sending a fire spell at him, knocking the two marbles out of his hand.
Todoroki and Shoji raced to grab them, as Dabi and Compress reached out to grab them. Shoji was able to swipe the marble Compress was reaching for, but Dabi beat Todoroki into grabbing the other one.
"Well isn't that a tragedy? Poor Little Shoto Todoroki." Dabi smirked. "Confirm it now. Release them."
"That laser ruined my finally." Compress complained.
Compress snapped his fingers, before the marble Shoji was holding turned into Tokoyami, and the marble Dabi was holding became Bakugo, and Jack, no longer in her Argonaut form, with his hands on both their necks.
"Bakugo, Jack." Yang cried out.
"Get your fucking hands… OFF MY DAUGHTER." Bakugo shouted, using an explosion on Dabi's left arm, forcing him to let go of jack, before the ash blonde boy, grabbed her by the back of her shirt, and threw her into Yang's arms, just as he was vanishing into Kurogiri's warp. "Take care of her blondie."
"BAKUGO." Yang cried out.
"PAPA." Jack shouted as Kurogiri's warp closed, leaving them alone in the forest, with a sense of dread, and defeat.
~The Next Day~
Things weren't looking good for the teachers of U.A as the Media were swarming the gates of the campus, demanding answers, while inside, four of the teachers, plus the principle, were in a meeting. The five of them, were the only heroes on campus, aside from Aizawa and Ghira, as well as Yang and the Pussycats, who knew the location of where the camp was, and which classes would be there.
"That training camp was meant to prepare students to handle villain attacks. The irony is shameful. We knew the League would resurface, but we lacked a fundamental understanding of their plans. They aim to destroy Hero Society, and they've already started their war." Nezu exclaimed.
"Even if we had understood, could we really have avoided this attack?" Midnight questioned. "They're moving pieces we didn't even know they possessed. Besides, All Might put an end to most organized crime, we're all rusty."
"We've definitely gotten complacent during peaceful times without realizing it. I guess deep down, all of us thought we'd be riding the sweet life for good." Present Mic said.
"I will never forgive myself for such cowardly ignorance. While our students were fighting desperately for their lives I was just… having a relaxing evening with Rei at home." Toshinori exclaimed.
"We shouldn't have had the Sports Festival right after the USJ Attack. We wanted to show we were still strong. To have a student kidnapped is our greatest failure as teachers. They've taken Bakugo and Society's faith in heroes, away from us." Snipe exclaimed.
"I agree, every news outlet is currently condemning U.A High." Nezu said. "If Bakugo was one of the main targets, it's likely because the villains read his record and about the manslaughter of Midoriya in it, when they broke in before attacking the USJ. If he ends up joining the side of the villains; that will be the end of U.A, as a school."
"Since we're on the topic of trust, I think there's something that has to be voiced now." Present Mic said. "At this point we can't deny it anymore can we? There's a traitor, at this school. Only the teachers and the Pussycats knew where the training camp would be. Don't you think that's a little suspicious? I guess a kid could have used a phone to message a villain but…"
"Stop this Mic." Midnight stated.
"What's the problem? We have to find who the leak is." Mic exclaimed.
"Could be you for all we know." Snipe said. "You got any proof that you're a hundred percent innocent? Can we know that everyone in this room in an alley? If we start doubting each other we'll destroy ourselves from the inside. Accusing a traitor, isn't something we should take lightly. Besides, I know we can trust All Might, his granddaughter went missing, both of them are, and as the Symbol of Peace, there's no way he'd ever risk her life like that, or any life for that matter."
"At the very least, I trust everyone sitting at this table." Nezu said. "Though there's also no way to prove to all of you that I am innocent. For the moment what we must concentrate as a school, is guaranteeing the safety of our student body, this is a good time to implement something I've been wanting to put into place for a while. You see I…"
"*A phone call is here. A phone call is…beep*"
"Excuse me everyone I have to take this." Toshinori said getting up.
"We're in a meeting. At least shut it to vibrate." Mic said.
'He's his own ringtone?' Midnight questioned.
As Toshinori left, he leaned against the wall, and let out a deep sigh of regret.
"What Symbol of Peace can't even keep his students, let alone his own family, from harm? What hero can't?" He questioned, clenching his fist before answering the call. "Sorry, what is it Tsukauchi?"
"We finally finished taking comprehensive statements from Aizawa, Midoriya, and Belladonna, and I think we found something. It's possible we have a lead on where the League of Villains is hiding." Tsukauchi exclaimed.
"Really, are you serious?" Toshinori questioned.
"Yep. About two weeks ago, I sent an officer around to gather information. A bystander said that he'd seen a man with a patchwork face, entering a building that's supposed to be vacant. The man looked to be in his twenties, but we didn't find any plausible matches when we checked criminal records. We spoke with the owner of the building though, and found that there's a sort of, hidden bar there. My men thought this was unrelated to our kidnapping case and didn't investigate further. But remember the description of the villain from the attack, the one Yang identified as Toya Todoroki just from his scent? He had a patchwork face. Given the profile of this crime, we'll move as soon as we get the green light. This is top secret, I'm only telling you, because it's you. We plan to ask for the cooperation of many pro heroes for this rescue, and inevitable cleanup mission. All Might, we need your power." Tsukauchi said. "All Might are you still there?"
"Tsukauchi, you're a wonderful friend. An' I know just what I'll say when I find them." Toshinori said, turning into All Might. "I am here. To make you pay for what you've done."
~The following Day: Closest Hospital~
Ruby sighed as she finished getting dressed in her casual clothes. She hadn't seen much of the incident that had happened after they left the clearing where the camp activity had taken place, but she had been injured from Spinner throwing a knife at her, which pinned itself in her side, when they made a run for it.
During the entire time she was keeping pressure on the wound, she was worried about the others and what was happening with the others, and when she got word that Bakugo was one of their targets, she tried to go and find him, but was stopped by several of her classmates holding her down, and Sero tapping a gauze pack to her wound.
That had been three days ago, and she was finally being discharged from the hospital, but there was another problem besides the League making off with one of their targets.
Scythe had gone missing, and there were no clues as to where she was.
Ruby looked at her hands, thinking of the power All Might gave her, and was contemplating whether or not she should even have this power. She already had her Semblance, and her magic, and so did Yang, but nothing she did, she felt was proof of her deserving One-for-All.
'Yang had put out the fires by eating the flames. There was no mistaking it after that, the flame guy is Toya Todoroki. But what's worse, is that they targeted not only Class-A students, but Class-B as well. Thankfully everyone in the building was safe with Mr. Belladonna, and Mr. Aizawa there with us, but they got Katsuki, and nearly had Jack and Tokoyami to. I'm concerned that they might have something to do with Scythe and Eri's disappearances.' Ruby thought, sitting on the bed still. 'Kyoka and Tohru got the worst of the gas attack, but Kendo and Tetsutetsu put a stop to them. All four of the Wild-Wild-Pussycats are accounted for, and Kota is safe, thanks to Scythe's efforts. Muscular however, he's not all right. For some reason, according to reports, he can't use his Quirk, it won't activate, like it isn't even there.'
There was a knock at the door that brought Ruby out of her thoughts, as the door slid open. Ruby looked up to see Kaminari, and the rest of the class who weren't being cared for, entering her room. Even Midoriya and Neo came for a visit.
"Hey Rose, you're heading off huh?" Kaminari asked.
"Where's Jack?" Tsu questioned.
"She's with Mitsuki right now. She told me she'd be more than happy to look after her granddaughter, while I was in the hospital." Ruby said.
"Did you see the news? Reporters are all over the school right now." Kaminari inquired.
"It's worse than last time." Sato exclaimed.
"I brought a present, I mean it's from all of us, it's a melon." Mineta said.
"I can see that grape head." Ruby sighed. "Did everyone from Class-A come to visit?"
"No, Jiro and Hagakure are still out. They were knocked unconscious from that villain's poisonous gas." Iida exclaimed. "An' Yaoyorozu took a pretty bad hit to the head. She hospitalized here, though I just found out she finally woke up yesterday. So it's just us, though obviously we wish the whole class could be here."
"Only eighteen of us for now." Uraraka said. "Pyrrha wanted to come to, but the police have her under protective custody in case the League comes after her again."
"Because Bakugo and Scythe are gone." Todoroki said.
"She knows that Shoto." Weiss said, lightly elbowing his ribs.
"Dad once told me, when I was having doubts about myself, that there'd always be people beyond our reach, that we can't protect, even though we want to." Ruby said. "Which is why we have to save the people we can reach. I wasn't able to do anything to save Katsuki, or Scythe. She did more in that situation than I did, and all I ended up doing was sitting on a chair, and bleeding out, while everyone outside was fighting for their lives. She took down Muscular for crying out loud. I failed, and they're gone."
"Alright, then let's go get them." Kirishima said.
"What do you mean?" Ruby asked, noticing the shocked looks on everyone's faces.
"I was here yesterday to. An' so was Todoroki and Weiss. We all came by to see how everyone was doing." Kirishima said. "At the time, we were on our way to visit you, when we saw your dad and some police officer talking to Yaoyorozu."
"I was here as well." Midoriya said. "Apparently, before I intervened with the Nomu, Yaoyorozu had help from my classmate, Awase, they attached a tracking device to one of the villains. The Nomu I fought. Kurogiri managed to get it while also getting the others as well."
"She created another device that would receive the signal the tracker let off." Kirishima finished.
"This means you're going to have Yaoyorozu make another receiver for you, doesn't it?" Iida asked.
"What if it does?" Todoroki asked, Kirishima dawning an ashamed look on his face.
"You should listen to what All Might said. We have to leave this to the professionals. It's not the right time for us to get involved, idiots."
"Maybe but all I know, is that at camp, I couldn't do anything. I heard my girlfriend, and best friend was targeted, and I just stood by, helpless. So if I stand by and do nothing now, how am I supposed to call myself a hero or a man?" Kirishima questioned.
"Kirishima calm down, we're in a hospital." Kaminari said. "There's a better time and place for this dude."
"Yeah, and what Iida said is true." Tsu exclaimed.
"All of you, just listen to me for a minute. I know what you're saying is right, but still…"
"I'm in." Ruby said getting to her feet.
"What, Rose you can't be serious." Iida said.
"Do you wanna know how Scythe convinced my dad to get Rei discharged from her mental ward imprisonment?" Ruby asked, remembering how All Might told her about it. "She broke the law." She said taking them all off guard. "She broke into the Musutafu Hospital's computer room, and downloaded a copy of all Rei's medical records pertaining to her stay in the mental ward, and brought them to my dad. Sometimes you gotta break the rules in order to do some good. An' if that means going after the League, when we're not professionally licensed, then I guess that's what's gonna happen."
"That's the spirit." Kirishima smiled.
"So let me get this straight. You're going to get Momo to make you another receiver, track a bad guy, and then try to save Bakugo all by yourselves?" Mina questioned.
"Yeah." Kirishima said.
"The villains who attacked the camp, planned to kill some of us. But they took Bakugo alive. What we don't know, is how long they'll let him live." Todoroki said. "That's why we're going after him."
"That's the thing." Midoriya said putting in his two cents. "My dad wouldn't agree to a plan that senselessly involved killing a hostage if he didn't agree with anything. Most likely, they're gonna try and recruit him to their side, and turn him into a villain."
"*Most likely, they have him at their hidden bar. We told the police about it, but we had no idea where in the city it was located, since they wouldn't let us leave through the front door. We were only able to leave through Kurogiri creating a warp gate for us.*" Neo said, using an illusion to talk.
"Have the two of you lost your minds?" Iida questioned.
"Hey, calm down." Shoji said. "I get how frustrated Kirishima is, and how Todoroki feels since he couldn't grab Bakugo. I'm upset to. But we can't let our emotions get the best of us, right? Plus, think about how Rose feels right now. The person she loves, deeply, is missing, and she wasn't able to help, not even when her own daughter was in danger due to being stabbed."
"Um… we should just leave this to All Might." Aoyama said. "Mr. Aizawa only gave us permission to fight, and use Quirks at the training camp."
"Aoyama is correct. Though I'm part of the reason we failed. So I can't talk." Tokoyami said.
"You guys." Kirishima said frustrated.
"Listen." Tsu began. "We're all shocked that Bakugo was taken from us, but we have to be rational. It doesn't matter how noble your intentions. If you go out there, trying to find the bad guys, knowing you're breaking the rules, then you're acting like villains, not heroes."
"It's only breaking the rules if we fight anyone with our Quirks." Ruby said. "If we are able to find him, and we're in a position to where we can grab him without fighting anyone, then we're well within the law."
"That's true." Todoroki said.
"Though, as much as I hate to say it. If we do end up having to fight someone, then we will fall back, and let the Pro's handle it." Ruby said. "As much as I care for Bakugo, I still have my daughter to think about. Yang already has Child-Services confronting her and Blake on their effectiveness of being good mothers. They're threatening to take Scythe and Eri away from them when they're found. I can't risk that with Jack, and I know Bakugo wouldn't want me to risk it either. He'd rather risk being killed by villains than seeing Jack and I separated, I know that much at least."
"That's not good." Iida said.
Knock-knock-knock… "Sorry for interrupting you all." Nana said coming into the room. "I'm here to pick up Ruby, and take her back home."
"Hey Nana." Ruby said. "I'll see you all later guys."
"Sure, let's bolt. I wanna see how Jiro and Hagakure are doing." Sero said.
"Good idea." Ojiro added.
"Yeah okay, we'll see you later Ruby." Uraraka smiled.
"Ruby, Todoroki, Yaoyorozu and I will come by to pick you up later tonight, after we pick up Yaoyorozu. We already talked to her yesterday, she's on board. We'll let her know the plan." Kirishima said.
"Alright." Ruby said.
"So, what's this plan of yours?" Shimura questioned.
"Oh, the others are planning on taking me out tonight, they want me to feel better about what went down. Jack is gonna continue staying with Mitsuki for a while." Ruby lied.
"Huh, that seems like a nice thing for them to do." Shimura smiled. "If you want you can hang around town and come by to pick your friend up tonight."
"I think that would be better." Ruby said, pulling out her Scroll and texting to Kirishima that she'd meet them in front of the hospital that night.
~Shie Hassaikai HQ~
Things weren't looking good for Scythe. She was currently sitting on a bed, in a dark room chained to the wall. She didn't know how long it had been since she had been brought to the Shie Hassaikai base of operations, and it had been little over a day since she was taken by Chisaki to her first, treatment, as he called them. But she knew they were nothing more than his torturous experiments performed on her.
The collar around her neck wasn't all that impressive of a build, but it was something that Chisaki said would keep her in line. An' no matter how pissed it made her, the collar did just that, with the needles being one button push away from injecting her with liquid obsidian. It angered her to no end, to how she wasn't in control of the situation that could very well spell life or death for her. To top it off, Chisaki made sure to keep her in a weakened state of body, by intentionally only feeding her once a week, which was yesterday.
There was a bright side to all of this though, and it made itself known as Chisaki came into the room, illuminating it with light from the halls, as he threw Eri back into the room. Scythe clenched her teeth, and went towards Eri grabbing the white and black haired girl in an embrace only a big sister could give, while glaring at Chisaki. The chain keeping her attached to the wall was long enough to allow her to explore the room, but it wasn't long enough to allow her access to the door unless Chisaki disconnected the obsidian chain from the wall for her treatments.
'I knew it. I knew Chisaki, had Eri.' Scythe thought as she helped her little sister to the bed, and comforted her as best she could, before Chisaki grabbed her by the shoulder and removed the chain.
"Let's go. Your turn." He said leading her away.
"I'm gonna come back Eri." Scythe said, reassuring her sister. "When I do, we can play again."
Eri nodded trusting her sister to keep her word about coming back, and holding her hand as long as she could while Chisaki lead Scythe away until she was gone, and the door closed, leaving her all alone in the room she shared with Scythe.
"Please. Please, if there is anyone listening? Any Gods above. Tia, Luna." Eri cried tears streaming down her face as she prayed to the deity sisters, as she remembered Scythe telling her about them once. "Please, I beg of you. Help my big sister. I don't care what happens to me, just please help her." She cried, and unbeknownst to the girl, her pleas were answered.
~In front of the hospital that night~
The night air had a warm breeze to it, as Kirishima, Ruby, Todoroki, and Weiss were waiting outside the hospital for Yaoyorozu to show up. She was supposed to have been discharged a couple hours ago, which is how long they've been waiting for her.
"She's here." Kirishima said as Yaoyorozu came out of the hospital.
'That is one determined look on her face.' Ruby thought. 'It's not one someone would make if they weren't sure of what they were doing.'
"You ready to go?" Weiss asked.
"Hold on."
The voice surprised them, and they all turned to see Iida approaching them, with a stern look on his face, one that said he was not going to let this one slide.
"Iida." Kirishima groaned.
"Why are you here?" Ruby questioned.
"I'm here to make sure you keep your word. That there will be no fighting. If I see even a hint of violence that is to come, I'm pulling us all out of there." Iida said.
"I suppose that's reasonable." Ruby exclaimed.
"I'm with Iida on that. I'm only joining because I want to bring Bakugo and Scythe back as well. At the camp, when they were loading me into the ambulance, I heard Kota tell one of the officers, Scythe was one of their targets to bring back alive." Momo exclaimed.
"Alright, now that we've got all our things settled. We can head out." Ruby said, as they left, unbeknownst to them, with someone tailing their moves.
'Taking you out to feel better about what happened. Yeah right, I heard the actual plan. Nice try Ruby. But I'm a whole lot smarter than that.' Shimura thought as she used her Quirk Float, to stealthily follow them. 'I should probably tell Scythe when we find her that the purple flames my hands make, are nothing more than the use of the support items I use in battle.'
