The knife plunged into her heart, leaving her gasping for air. She felt like a fish on dry land. Her heart came to a slow, steady stop- forcing her eyes to grow wide. An energy in the sapphire amulet made her feel like she were being reborn, but that couldn't be. Maybe, the brunette was finally able to cross into the light to have her peace.
Dylan saw absolutely nothing. She was surrounded by utter darkness. She was relieved when a voice inside her head spoke. She easily recognized the voice to be an apologetic Ledger.
"Forgive me, Dil. This is what you were meant to become." Ledger lightly informs, earning an eyebrow raise from the female.
"What was I meant to become?" Dylan asks, feeling a bit of foreboding. She sensed this would be the last time they interacted.
"Open your eyes." Ledger pleaded, giving a farewell shake of the head.
Dylan didn't hesitate to open her green blue eyes. A light of blue lit up her sockets as she sprung into action. She flung herself into the air, flipping to a fighting stance near Red. She shook her head, briefly catching the ghostly blue radiating her hands.
Bev gasps in awe. She didn't believe her sister would make it.
"What the fuck? You should be dead!" Red screamed, getting knocked down by one of Dylan's blasts. The boy froze over, turning to an ice sculpture.
Dylan brought one foot under her, sweeping her free leg into his mold. She watched the redhead turn to crumpled dust of skin and bone on the ground. Her eyes returned to normal to find she wasn't the only other one next to Bev present.
Conner Kent had arrived on scene, rushing to untie Bev. He seemed to be smitten with the injured girl.
"Bevey, are you alright?" croaked Dylan, reaching for her older sister.
Bev winced, but let Dylan help her stand along with the newer Titans addition. "I'll live. How do we exit this place?"
"I came in through a door. Come on." Conner noted, gesturing in said direction.
Dylan let go of her grip on Bev. "I'll join you two in a minute."
Bev furrowed her eyebrows at her sister in question. She didn't ask, allowing Superboy to tug her from the place.
Dylan sighed, turning around. Her eyes connected with the concerned brown of Ledger. "What have I become?"
"You are half ghost, half human. You're the live action Danny Phantom. Except, this time you have no beating heart and you're more in control of your abilities." Ledger explained, glancing to the light beaming in from the window.
"How is that possible? I always did enjoy Danny Phantom." Dylan chirped, recalling the cartoon as one of her favorites.
"Look down," Ledger nodded to her chest.
"Oh shit!" Dylan blurted, touching the sapphire blue embedded in the middle of her chest. A frown took hold of her face, "Is this the last time we speak?"
"Darn straight, I have completed my mission. You no longer need a guide. You have your sister plus those nitwit of bats for family." Ledger rolled his eyes playfully as he spoke.
Dylan sighed, nodding her head. She kept wondering what other challenges lay ahead in the future. She didn't dwell too much on it, in case it were her downfall.

"Dylan is in trouble!" Damian shouted, slamming his fists down on the table. His blue eyes burning angrily into Dick Grayon.
"You're also the son of Bruce Wayne…?" Dick asked for the hundredth time of analyzing the slender male. He was a bit surprised to learn of such news. He was more shocked to find a Gypsy and Red Robin in their group.
The three suddenly appeared in the tower upon the disappearance of Dylan.
"He's not kidding-" Gloria exclaimed, stomping her foot as an eruption sounded from nearby. She turned beat red; knowing how she let loose in uproar.
Dick trusted Gloria. He knew the woman from his heyday of detecting. He turned a curious eye to the blonde, "If you say so."
Tim rolled his eyes, hating how this guy wasn't listening.
The heated conversation would have continued if the elevator dinging hadn't caught their attention.
The other Titans were doing Hades only knew what, confusing the four present.
"You two are adorable!" Dylan chirped, complimenting how uneasy Bev was by the fact that Conner offered to carry her.
Bev could hardly walk with the damage bestowed to her by Red. She tried to argue when Conner offered to carry, but her voice got stuck in her throat. "Stuff it, Dil!"
Conner only bore a smile, somewhat turning pink. He was still getting the hang of maturing.
The elevator door slid open for them to enter.
Dylan cut a curious gaze around to find four people occupying the main space.
Damian was in Dick's face.
Gloria and Tim immediately locked gazes with the three.
"Are we rioting against the Titans? I would have signed up." Dylan playfully whined, stepping into the room.
"What happened to Beverly?" Dick asked, furrowing his eyebrows in concern.
"What doesn't happen to me?" Bev choked, unhappy that Conner had set her on the sofa.
It's like the boy was clinging to her nor did she mind.
"I no longer have a shadow guide, heartbeat or emotion. Red is dead. Bev almost joined him on the other side." Dylan happily announced, setting her backpack of stuff on the sofa. She had been conversing with Bev on leaving to make a home of their own.
They were also in talks of opening their own place for sidekicks in need with the policy of no judgement accepted.
If you were a judgemental prick or the first to play the blame game with no proof then you'd be forced to join the Titans.
"You're alive!" Tim gushed, barreling into Dylan. His scrawny arms wrapped around her soon followed by Damian, hugging them both.
Dylan grew uncomfortable, nearly suffocating from the concern for her well being. "You're eager!"
Tim winced, trying to pry Damian from locking them in a hug together.
Dylan refused to hug back. She held the desire to throw her arms around them, but withheld from showing emotion. The last time she did; she lost him.
"Dil, and I are leaving. We've decided to make it on our own." Bev gestured to Dylan and herself. She forced herself from Conner's grip.
"Where will you go?" Damian asked, before Dick got the chance to badger them.
"I left England for this!" Gloria squeaked, causing Bev to flinch.
"I have my ways. Your English friend can join us." Bev voiced, smirking at the lot.
"Who's going to heal your wounds?" Dick asked, motioning to Bev with her sustained injuries.
A smirk tugged at Gloria's lips. She moved over to the visibly pale, barely standing female. Waving a hand over Bev- a cloud of purple smoke briefly engulfed the woman healing all injuries.
Bev felt as good as new.
"Have a good life, Dick-waffle!" Gloria chirped, turning to the other women.
Damian and Tim were rather disappointed that Dylan wouldn't hang around.
"Oh, I call him, Dick-son!" Dylan chirps, picking up her black backpack once more. She went to the elevator with Bev and Gloria.
Dick called to the three ladies, stopping in front of the slow closing doors. "Feel free to come by any time!"
They continued chattering, thinking of ways to go from their new ending.
