Opening up in another hallway inside one of the upperlevels of Boxford Corp, Frankie was leading Commander Laura to somewhere. According to the blue/green-haired girl, the area for their upcoming duel will have an audience of a sort. It was enough to interest Commander Laura, since she wanted an audience to see Frankie be defeated.
"So, Frankie says I'll like this audience?" The female pirate commander thought to herself. "I'll take anyone who will see the 'captain' fall to my 'Gem-Knight' Monsters."
Eventually, the two duelists arrived outside a room.
"In here." instructed Frankie. "In this room, we will duel like you wanted."
With a nod, Commander Laura approached the door and opened it up, walking inside. Smirking wickedly to herself, Frankie followed her opponent into the room.
Title: The Falcon Takes Flight
Inside the room, it was, to Commander Laura's disappointment, completely empty despite having plenty of space to duel.
"There's nobody in here!" she complained. "I thought you said there would be an audience?!"
"That's because nobody else has come yet." replied Frankie. "Just give it a few minutes, and there will be an audience here as I said there would be." She then winked. "Believe me, you'll like this one."
Commander Laura huffed in response, but complied to waiting a little bit longer. Pretty soon, the nearby doors seemed to open, catching the attention of both Commander Laura and Frankie. On cue, two pirates, carrying Commander Sledge over their shoulders, came inside.
"Is that Sledge?" asked Commander Laura. "Why was he brought here?"
"He's one of the 'audience members'." Frankie pointed out. "And look at that, he's coming around."
Indeed... Commander Sledge, as the two pirates released him, started to wake up. Once his eyes opened and his vision came back, the burly pirate commander saw Commander Laura.
"L-Laura?" said Commander Sledge groggily. "Is that you? What happened to Sledge? The last thing Sledge remembers is red-haired punk beating him again."
"Indeed, you've lost." confirmed Frankie, causing the burly pirate commander to become worried when he saw his captain. "But, not to worry, I'm not mad or anything."
Commander Sledge was relieved. "Oh, good. Sledge sure am glad that captain is not going to hurt Sledge for failing." He then realized something. "Hold on, why is Sledge here anyway?"
"Give it another minute, and I'll let you know." Frankie answered, just as she heard footsteps. "Oh, nevermind. Our next guest has come already."
Another two pirates carrying an unconscious Commander Leon entered the room. Once inside, the two pirates hurled the former pirate second-in-commander forth, causing him to land on his face. Soon enough, Commander Leon started to wake up, rising to his hands and knees while wondering where he was.
"W-What?" groaned Commander Leon, looking around weakly. "How did I-?"
"Leon!" called Commander Laura, as both she and Commander Sledge ran towards their good friend.
"Hmm, very good. You each are here." commented Frankie, folding her arms. "Now, I'm sure you want an explanation as to what this is all about, yes?"
Commander Sledge and Commander Leon both were silent, but Commander Laura sure had a few things to say...
"I know why I'm here!" she began. "It's because you requested we come here for our duel!"
"Huh?" blinked Commander Leon, turning to look at his friend. "Laura, why are you and the captain going to duel?"
"I'll let Laura explain everything." offered Frankie, smiling darkly at Commander Laura. "Go on, tell them your little sob story..."
"It's her Uncle's fault!" Commander Laura snapped, pointing at her former captain. "He ruined my life by framing me for that fire which cost me my job and reputation with my peers! That's why I'm going to duel the captain, so I can take revenge on our former captain!"
Both Commander Leon and Commander Sledge were stunned by the realization. Frankie, meanwhile, didn't say a word in response. Judging from the smile on her face, it was likely she did not care about the details.
"I really don't know where you got that sort of nonsense." The blue/green-haired girl said in dismissal. "All I see is a traitor who needs to be punished for betrayal. Be glad you have your two friends here to watch, so they can see you fall before my superior power!"
Commander Laura growled. "Like that'll happen!"
Before anything more could happen...
"Hold it!" interrupted Commander Leon, causing both Commander Laura and Frankie to stop. "Take me on instead!"
"Leon?" quizzed Commander Laura.
"Having heard that Laura suffered such a loss at the hands of our previous captain and being good friends with her, I will stay by her side until the end of time! In fact, I'll make sure that her revenge is absolute!"
"Actually, Sledge will fight!" Commander Sledge put in, taking a step forth. "Sledge can't believe he pledged loyalty to someone who ruined a friend's life!" He pointed at Frankie. "Sledge will stay by Laura's side and help her by destroying new captain so that her revenge can be completed!"
"Leon... Sledge..." whispered Commander Laura, who was feeling thankful that her two friends were staying by her side.
Frankie, however, was not very pleased.
"So, you both wish to defy me like Laura here?" she questioned harshly, speaking to both Commander Leon and Commander Sledge.
"We're sticking by our friend." retorted Commander Leon. "Got a problem with that?"
"Not really, no." answered Frankie, shaking her head. "In any case, all three of you can duel."
"Sledge was hoping to hear that!" grinned Commander Sledge. "Against Sledge and friends, you will stand no chance!"
"Since you've upgraded our Decks so well-" added Commander Laura "-even your 'Burning Abyss' Deck will fall! You can't take all three of us at once, 'captain'!"
"But 'I' can!" came a voice (male).
Attention was switched to the nearby doorway. Walking into the room, wearing a black-colored Duel Disk, was Hurricane, and there was a cold look on his face.
"Is that the captain's second-in-command?" pondered Commander Leon.
"Heh! More like that's the captain's boyfriend." scoffed Commander Sledge, clearly to mock Frankie. "Sledge doesn't know whether to laugh or cry - likely laugh."
Hurricane, not saying anything in response, stopped beside Frankie.
"Now, do you see the Duel Disk on Hurricane's arm?" Frankie was asking the three former pirate commanders.
"Why should we care about that? It's just a Duel Disk" dismissed Commander Laura. "Let's get the three-on-one duel started already!"
"You fool!" shouted Hurricane. "The Black Disk is a special one-of-a-kind Duel Disk that is given only to the strongest of the pirates. As you can see, next to Frankie, I'm the strongest member of the group. And if you wish to destroy her, you will have to get through 'me' first."
The three pirate commanders looked at each other; the Black Disk determines who the strongest pirate is? That gave them an idea of a sort...
"In that case, we'll just have to take him out first." said Commander Laura.
"That way, when we beat the 'captain', we'll each be seen as the strongest of the pirates!" put in Commander Leon.
"Hell yeah!" finished Commander Sledge, sounding excited.
Despite about to face three opponents at once, Hurricane was not worried in the slightest; he just kept a calm, cold look on his face. Then, once the Duel Disks were activated, the match finally commenced...
"DUEL!" Hurricane, Commander Laura, Commander Sledge, and Commander Leon all exclaimed at once (LP: 4000) x4.
Just then...
"H-Hey! What's the big idea?!" A voice (male) was shouting. "Quit pushin' me! I'm not a coach or Truck, y'know!"
"Quiet. We're taking you to our captain." Another voice (male) snapped.
"She requires your presence." A third voice (male) added.
On cue, Diesel 10 was shown being pushed into the room by two more pirates.
"Diesel 10!" Commander Leon, Commander Laura, and Commander Sledge each realized.
Diesel 10 shook his head, before seeing the duel about to go on.
"Hey, why's there a duel going on?" he wondered.
"Nice of you to show up, Diesel 10." commented Frankie. "Don't worry, I'll speak to you once this duel has ended."
"Why's that? What did I even do?"
"Just be silent, and enjoy the show." The blue/green-haired girl suggested. "Now, Hurricane, defeat the traitors!"
Hurricane nodded. "I will." He then turned towards his opponents. "As this is a Battle Royale, no duelist may take a Draw Phase on their first turn, and they must wait one full turn before they can declare an attack!"
Turn One: Commander Laura (LP: 4000)
Deck: 55
Current Hand (5): "Gem-Knight Lapis", "Gem-Knight Emerald", "Gem-Knight Alexandrite", "Gem-Knight Lazuli", and "Gem-Enhancement"
"Fine!" accepted Commander Laura, taking a card from her hand and placing it onto her Duel Disk. "I Summon 'Gem-Knight Lapis' in attack mode!"
Appearing onto the field was pre-teen-like 'Gem Knight' Monster (Level: 3/ATK: 1200/DEF: 100). Not being done, Commander Laura took and slotted a card into her Duel Disk.
"Now, I'll set one card facedown and end my turn!" she finished, just as a facedown card materialized on the field.
Over with Diesel 10...
"I wonder what that Hurricane's Deck is like?" The ochre-haired man pondered. "More importantly, that's one snazzy Duel Disk he's got—I gotta get me one of those."
Back in the duel field...
Turn Two: Hurricane Decapod (LP: 4000)
Deck: 55
Current Hand (5): "Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius", "Raidraptor - Nest", "Unicorn Beacon", "Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius", and "Raidraptor - Readiness"
"I'll take the next turn!" declared Hurricane, taking and holding a card out. "I Summon 'Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius' in attack position!"
Appearing onto the field was a rather robotic looking Winged Beast monster (Level: 4/ATK: 1300/DEF: 1600).
"A 'Raidraptor'?" wondered Commander Laura.
"'Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius's' effect, when either Normal or Special Summoned, allows me to Special Summon one Level 4 or lower 'Raidraptor' Monster from my hand once per turn during my Main Phase." explained Hurricane, taking and placing another card onto his Duel Disk. "I Special Summon, from my hand, a second copy of 'Vanishing Lanius'!"
A second copy of 'Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius' appeared on the field, standing beside the first copy.
"Not only that, I'll activate a Continuous Spell - 'Raidraptor - Nest'!" As Hurricane spoke, the mentioned Spell Card materialized face-up on the field. "If I control two 'Raidraptor' Monsters with the same name, I can add one 'Raidraptor' Monster with the same name as those monsters from my Deck or Graveyard into my hand." He took a card from his Deck and held it out. "As you can see, I've added the third copy of 'Vanishing Lanius' into my hand."
As expected, the third copy of 'Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius' appeared on the field, joining the other two in facing the trio of opponents.
"By the effect of my second 'Vanishing Lanius', I've Special Summoned the third copy." The brown/red-haired boy continued, before slotting two cards into his Black Disk. "Finally, I'll set two cards and end my turn!"
Two facedown cards materialized on the field.
"So, that guy uses 'Raidraptors'?" asked Commander Sledge.
Turn Three: Commander Leon (LP: 4000)
Deck: 55
Current Hand (5): "Constellar Siat", "Constellar Pollux", "Constellar Algiedi", "Constellar Kaus", and "Constellar Twinkle"
"I've heard a bit about them." cut in Commander Leon. "They focus on swarming the field with necessary monsters to perform Xyz Summon. Most of the monsters in the archtype have effects that allow them to be Summoned rapidly to the field, but the easiest method for them to do so usually involves cards from player's hand, and therefore, the player using them needs to keep many resources in their hand to start their initial strategy." He took a card from his hand and held it out. "If it helps you two, I'll go next!"
On cue, a monster known as 'Constellar Siat' appeared on the field (Level: 1/ATK: 100/DEF: 1600).
"By my monster's effect; if the opponent controls a monster and I don't, I can Special Summon 'Constellar Siat' from my hand." Commander Leon then took and placed another card onto his Duel Disk. "From there, I'll Normal Summon 'Constellar Pollux'!"
Appearing onto the field was a muscular warrior with the familiar 'Constellar' armor as well as a two-bladed sword (Level: 4/ATK: 1700/DEF: 600).
"During the turn this card was Normal Summoned, I can Normal Summon one 'Constellar' Monster in addition to my Normal Summon or Set." explained Commander Leon, taking and placing another card onto his Duel Disk. "Come - 'Constellar Algiedi'!"
Appearing onto the field was the female 'Constellar' sorceress (Level: 4/ATK: 1600/DEF: 1400).
"'Constellar Algiedi', when Normal Summoned, allows me to Special Summon a Level 4 'Constellar; Monster from my hand." As Commander Leon spoke, he took and held another card out. "I Special Summon 'Constellar Kaus' from my hand!"
Appearing onto the field was the celestial archer (Level: 4/ATK: 1800/DEF: 700). Hurricane was outnumbered at the time, but, again, he didn't look worried at all.
"The effect of 'Kaus'; twice per turn, I can increase or decrease the Level of a 'Constellar' Monster I control." continued Commander Leon. He then held his right hand out. "The monsters to have their levels adjusted are going to be 'Kaus' himself and 'Algiedi', making them Level 5 monsters!"
Both 'Constellar Kaus' (Level: 4 - 5) and 'Constellar Algiedi' (Level: 4 - 5) had their Levels raised by one.
"And now, I'll overlay the Level 5 'Constellar Kaus' and 'Constellar Algiedi'! With these two LIGHT monsters, I build the Overlay Network!"
The two monsters turned into balls of light and flew into the forming Overlay Network in the center of the duel field. Commander Leon, meanwhile, began a Summon Chant for his new monster's appearance...
"Light of the stars, descend and shake this very Earth!" chanted Commander Leon, thrusting his right hand form. "Xyz Summon! Rank 5 - 'Constellar Pleiades'!"
Appearing onto the field, when the Xyz Summon sequence ended, was the familiar large warrior wearing the same star based armor as his comrades (Rank: 5/ATK: 2500/DEF: 1500).
"Sledge likes that one!" grinned Commander Sledge.
Commander Leon grinned back. "And I'm not done, either." He then turned back towards Hurricane and held another card out. "From my hand, I'll activate 'Constellar Twinkle'! It lets me target one 'Constellar' Monster I control and increase its Level by two."
'Constellar Pollux' had its Level buffed (Level: 4 - 6).
"As you can tell, I've raised the Level of 'Pollux'." Commander Leon pointed out, before pointing at 'Constellar Siat'. "From there, I'll activate the second effect of 'Siat'! Once per turn, I can target one 'Constellar' Monster I control or in my Graveyard and have this monster's Level become the current Level of that monster."
Hurricane silently nodded, knowing which monster was to be chosen.
"I choose 'Pollux'! Because 'Pollux' is Level 6, 'Constellar Siat' has its Level changed to six, as well!"
'Constellar Siat' had its Level adjusted (Level: 1 - 6).
"And now, I overlay the Level 6 'Constellar Siat' and 'Constellar Pollux'!" Commander Leon went on. "With these two LIGHT monsters, I build the Overlay Network once again!"
The familiar Overlay Network reappeared in the center of the field and absorbed 'Constellar Siat' and 'Constellar Pollux' inside. In addition, a Summon Chant commenced...
"Rain down your dazzling light!" chanted Commander Leon, before spreading his arms out in welcome. "Xyz Summon! Appear! Rank 6 - 'Constellar Ptolemy M7'!"
Appearing onto the field, when the Xyz Summon sequence ended, was the large, familiar mechanical dragon colored to look like the other 'Constellar' Monsters (Rank: 6/ATK :2700/DEF: 2000).
"Ha ha ha! Now that I have my two best monsters out, I'm ready to cripple your strategy, Hurricane!" laughed Commander Leon. "First, I'll activate the effect of 'Constellar Pleiades'! Once per turn, during either player's turn, I can detach one Xyz Material from this monster, and then target one card on the field; that card is returned to the hand!"
Hurricane once again nodded without uttering a word, allowing his opponent to target and return a card from his field into his hand.
"I target the first 'Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius' on your field and send it back into your hand!"
The first 'Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius' turned to light and returned to Hurricane's hand.
"However, that isn't all!" smirked Commander Leon, enjoying wearing down his opponent's field. "I'll also activate the effect of 'Constellar Ptolemy M7'! Once per turn, I can detach one Xyz Material from this card, and then target 1 monster on the field or in either player's Graveyard and return that target to the hand." He pointed forth. "I'll remove one Overlay Unit to send another copy of 'Vanishing Lanius' back to your hand!"
A second of Hurricane's monsters returned to his hand. Although a little surprised by it, the brown/red-haired boy remained calm and simply nodded.
"For the owner of the Black Disk, you don't seem like a tough duelist!" taunted Commander Leon. He entered the End Phase. "I end my turn!"
Turn Four: Commander Sledge (LP: 4000)
Deck: 54
Current Hand (5): "XX-Saber Boggart Knight", "X-Saber Palomuro", "XX-Saber Faultroll", "XX-Saber Fulhelmknight", and "Pot of Greed"
"You're damn right punk isn't good!" gloated Commander Sledge, taking and holding a card out. "Sledge activates 'Pot of Greed'! It lets him draw two more cards!"
His two drawn cards were 'Big Return' (Spell Card) and 'Gottoms' Second Call' (Spell Card). Adding both cards into his hand while planning to save them for later on, Commander Sledge took and held another card out...
"Sledge Summons 'XX-Saber Boggart Knight'!"
Appearing onto the field was a rather fiendish, yet still beast-like, swordsman (Level: 4/ATK: 1900/DEF: 1000).
"And, seeing as this monster was Summoned, Sledge can Special Summon one Level 4 or lower 'X-Saber' Monster from his hand." As the burly pirate commander spoke, he placed another card onto his Duel Disk, causing a Monster Card called 'X-Saber Palomuro' to materialize face-up on the field. "Tuner Monster - 'X-Saber Palomuro'!"
Appearing onto the field was a green reptilian-like warrior (Level: 1/ATK: 200/DEF: 300).
"Now, Sledge activates the effect of the 'XX-Saber Faultroll' in his hand!" As Commander Sledge spoke, he took and held another card out. "As he controls two 'X-Saber' Monsters, he can Special Summon 'XX-Saber Faultroll' from the hand!"
The black and red armored warrior appeared on the field (Level: 6/ATK: 2400/DEF: 1800).
"Sledge will Tune his Level 4 Effect Monster, 'XX-Saber Boggart Knight', with the Level 1 Tuner Monster, 'X-Saber Palomuro'!" declared Commander Sledge. "Here he goes!"
'X-Saber Palumuro' turned into a Synchro Ring, which 'XX-Saber Boggart Knight' flew into.
"Synchro Summon!" shouted Commander Sledge. "Level 5 - 'X-Saber Wayne'!"
Appearing onto the field was a rugged cowboy branding a pistol with a blade added on the front (Level: 5/ATK: 2100/DEF: 400).
"But, this is only the beginning! 'X-Saber Wayne's' effect; when this monster is Synchro Summoned, Sledge can Special Summon one Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monster from his hand." With that said, Commander Sledge took and placed a card onto his Duel Disk. "Sledge Special Summons the Tuner Monster 'XX-Saber Fulhelmknight'!"
Appearing onto the field was a small, blonde-haired warrior with a chain-like whip (Level: 3/ATK: 1300/DEF: 1000).
"The second effect of 'Faultroll'!" announced Commander Sledge. "Once per turn, Sledge can target one Level 4 or lower 'X-Saber' Monster in his Graveyard and Special Summon that target."
"I know what monster you want." realized Hurricane.
"That's right!" laughed Commander Sledge, as a card ejected from his Graveyard. "Tuner Monster - 'X-Saber Palomuro'!"
'X-Saber Palomuro' reappeared on the field, as expected.
"I take it you're planning yet another Synchro Summon." commented Hurricane.
"Actually, he's planning two of them!" corrected Commander Laura, before looking towards her burly friend while grinning. "Am I right?"
"You are right, Laura!" confirmed Commander Sledge, before turning to some of his monsters. "Sledge is Tuning his Level 6 Effect Monster, 'XX-Saber Faultroll', with the Level 3 Tuner Monster, 'XX-Saber Fulhelmknight'!"
'XX-Saber Fulhelmknight' turned into three Synchro Rings, which 'XX-Saber Faultroll' flew into. The symbols 6 plus 3 equals 9 were shown briefly as a Summon Chant followed...
"Let your silver armor shine and crush the hope of everything that opposes you!" chanted Commander Sledge, before pounding the ground with his fist. "Synchro Summon! Appear, Level 9 - 'XX-Saber Gottoms'!"
Appearing onto the field from the beam of light, was the large, armored warrior branding a huge sword (Level: 9/ATK: 3100/DEF: 2600). However, there was one more Synchro Summon to do...
"Sledge will also Tune his Level 5 Effect Monster, 'XX-Saber Wayne', with the Level 1 Tuner Monster, 'X-Saber Palomuro'!" continued Commander Sledge.
'X-Saber Palumuro' turned into a Synchro Ring, which 'X-Saber Wayne' flew into. The symbols 5 plus 1 equals 6 were shown briefly as a Summon Chant commenced...
"Clothed in your red mantle, take down your foes with your dancing blades!" chanted Commander Sledge, before, again, pounding the ground with his fist. "Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 6 - 'XX-Saber Hyunlei'!"
Appearing onto the field from the beam of light, was the familiar female samurai wearing rather high tech armor (Level: 6/ATK: 2300/DEF: 1300).
"'Hyunlei's' effect activates! When this monster is Synchro Summoned, Sledge can select and destroy up to three Spell or Trap Cards on the field."
Hurricane watched as his two facedown cards ('Raidraptor - Readiness' and 'Unicorn Beacon') and his face-up 'Raidraptor - Nest' Spell Card each shattered into shards of glass.
"Sledge destroys all three of your cards!" chuckled Commander Sledge.
Over with Frankie... Despite her best friend being put into a nasty situation, she didn't look worried at all. Back in the duel field, Commander Leon suddenly jumped in...
"Now it's my turn to use a Monster Effect!" he declared. "I remove the final Overlay Unit from 'Constellar Pleiades' to send the final copy of 'Vanishing Lanius' back to your hand!"
Hurricane's last monster vanished in a blue streak, returning into card form which he added into his hand. However, Commander Sledge was far from finished with dominating the opponent...
"From Sledge's hand, he activates 'Gottoms' Second Call'!" As the burly pirate commander spoke, the mentioned Spell Card materialized face-up on the field. "If Sledge controls an 'X-Saber' Synchro Monster, he can target two 'X-Saber' Monsters in his Graveyard and Special Summon both targets, ignoring their Summoning conditions, but their Attack Power becomes zero." He took two cards from his Graveyard and held them out. "Resurrect - 'Faultroll' and 'Wayne'!"
The two 'X-Saber' Monsters returned to the field. And, due to the effect of the 'Gottoms' Second Call' Spell Card, 'XX-Saber Faultroll' (ATK: 2400 - 0) and 'X-Saber Wayne'(ATK: 2100 - 0) both had their respective Attack Power went all the way to zero. Just then, a Spell Card called 'Big Return' flipped face-up and revealed itself.
"From there, Sledge activates 'Big Return'!" continued Commander Sledge. "It lets him target one card he controls and activate its 'once per turn' effect once again this turn."
'XX-Saber Faultroll' started glowing, which meant one thing...
"'XX-Saber Faultroll's' effect can be activated again!" As Commander Sledge spoke, another card ejected from his Graveyard. "Resurrect - 'XX-Saber Fulhelmknight'!"
'XX-Saber Fulhelmknight' reappeared on the field.
"But the effect Sledge is really gonna enjoy activating is the one belonging to 'XX-Saber Gottoms'! He can tribute one 'X-Saber' Monster to have the opponent discard one random card from their hand."
As expected, all three weaker monsters ('X-Saber Wayne', 'XX-Saber Faultroll', and 'XX-Saber Fulhelmknight') shattered into shards of glass.
"As Sledge sacrificed 'X-Saber Wayne', 'XX-Saber Faultroll', and 'XX-Saber Fulhelmknight', 'Gottoms' will send all three of your cards to the Graveyard!" Commander Sledge then pointed forth at his opponent. "Now, discard your whole hand!"
Hurricane discarded his entire hand with a word or complaint.
"Now, Laura, finish him off!" Commander Sledge said to Commander Laura. "This was all Sledge and Leon could both do!"
"I will!" The female pirate commander agreed, drawing a card. "Draw!"
Turn Five: Commander Laura (LP: 4000)
Deck: 54
Current Hand (5): "Gem-Knight Emerald", "Gem-Knight Alexandrite", "Gem-Knight Lazuli", "Gem-Knight Fusion", and "Gem-Knight Fusion"
Her drawn card was the 'Gem-Knight Fusion' Spell Card.
"It's here!" Commander Laura thought to herself, before looking up at her opponent. "Hurricane, if you're really the owner of the Black Disk, you should have been able to defeat all three of us without effort. Instead, you're completely wide open for an attack by the strongest monsters in our whole Decks!"
"Sorry if I hadn't noticed." deadpanned Hurricane.
"Even then, our army is about to grow even stronger!" As Commander Laura spoke, she held her drawn card out. "Spell Card - 'Gem-Knight Fusion'! It lets me Fusion Summon one 'Gem-Knight' Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck, using monsters from my hand or side of the field as Fusion Materials." She then took the card off her Duel Disk and added another card from her hand. "I fuse 'Gem-Knight Lapis' with the 'Gem-Knight Lazuli' in my hand!"
The two mentioned 'Gem-Knight' Monsters entered the Fusion Vortex as a Summon Chant began...
"The blue and green stones that hides mysterious power. Now, become light, come and appear!" chanted Commander Laura, before bringing both hands together. "Fusion Summon! Level 5 - 'Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli'!"
Appearing onto the field, when the Fusion Summon sequence ended, was a humanoid gem in a dark blue robe with gold slippers (Level: 5/ATK: 2400/DEF: 1000). A card then ejected from Commander Laura's Graveyard, and she took and added it into her hand.
"As 'Gem-Knight Lazuli' was sent to the Graveyard by a Card Effect, I can target one Normal Monster in my Graveyard and add it into my hand." explained Commander Laura, just as the card suddenly faded away into oblivion. "And by Banishing a 'Gem-Knight' Monster Card from my hand, I can add 'Gem-Knight Fusion' back into my hand."
Hurricane remained silent, but was positive on what was coming next. Sure enough, Commander Laura held her retrieved card out.
"Once more, I'll activate 'Gem-Knight Fusion'!" she announced. "This time, from my hand, I'll fuse 'Gem-Knight Alexandrite', 'Gem-Knight Emerald', and "Gem-Knight Lapis'!"
The three 'Gem-Knights' appeared briefly on the field before entering the Fusion Vortex. A Summon Chant soon followed...
"Gem with facets of day and night! Brilliant emerald of good fortune! Become one with the blue stone and create a new light!" chanted Commander Laura, before bringing both hands together. "Fusion Summon! Supreme radiance who illuminates everything! Level 9 - 'Gem-Knight Master Diamond'!"
Appearing onto the field, as the Fusion Summon sequence came to an end, was the large knight wielding a sword with shards of diamond encrusted on the blade (Level: 9/ATK: 2900/DEF: 2500).
"For every 'Gem-' Monster in my Graveyard-" Commander Laura went on. "-'Master Diamond' gains 100 Attack Points." She held up three fingers from her right hand. "I count three such monsters in my Graveyard, so 'Master Diamond' gains 300 Attack Points."
'Gem-Knight Master Diamond' grew stronger (ATK: 2900 - 3200).
"3200 Attack Points?" whispered Hurricane.
"I'm still not finished!" insisted Commander Laura. "I also activate the effect of 'Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli'! Once per turn, I can send one monster with the same name as this card from my Extra Deck to the Graveyard and inflict damage to my opponent equal to half this card's current Attack Power plus 100 additional damage for each monster on the field that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck." A card suddenly materialized in-between the index and middle fingers of her right hand. "I'll send this copy of 'Lapis Lazuli' to the Graveyard to inflict half of her base Attack Power as damage, plus 600 additional damage since I've Special Summoned six different monsters this turn!"
The spirit of a second 'Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli' appeared and dove in to strike Hurricane. The brown/red-haired boy was hit, causing him to cry out as his Life Points decreased by 1800 points (LP: 4000 - 2200). In addition, with an additional 'Gem-' Monster in the Graveyard, 'Gem-Knight Master Diamond' grew stronger again (ATK: 3200 - 3300).
"Your suffering hasn't ended!" boomed Commander Laura. "I activate the Monster Effect of 'Master Diamond'!
The mighty 'Gem-Knight Master Diamond' held up his blade, which began to glow.
"Once per turn, I can remove one Level 7 or lower 'Gem-Knight' Fusion Monster from my Graveyard, and, until the End Phase, this monster's name becomes that monster's, and its original effect is replaced with the removed monster's effects."
The second copy of 'Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli' briefly appeared on the field before dissolving into dust and being absorbed into 'Gem-Knight Master Diamond's' weapon. Although he gained new effects, his Attack Power still went down slightly (ATK: 3300 - 3200).
"Thanks to absorbing 'Lapis Lazuli' and gaining her effects, I'll activate one such effect!" Commander Laura went on. "Once per turn—well, you likely know by now. But first-!"
As such, a third copy of 'Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli' appeared on the field for a brief moment, before fading away in a blue streak. 'Gem-Knight Master Diamond' then grew even stronger (ATK: 3200 - 3300).
"As I've Special Summoned six times this turn; combined with a base damage of 1650 will make the total amount of damage you'll take be 2250!" grinned Commander Laura, while both Commander Sledge and Commander Leon both grinned, too. "I didn't even need to attack you to win! I'll win by using Monster Effects!"
'Gem-Knight Master Diamond' slashed its blade towards Hurricane, who merely looked unfazed and ready for the attack.
"Watch closely, 'captain'!" thundered Commander Laura. "Watch as your second-in-command AND best friend falls to the superior might of Laura, Sledge, and Leon!"
Frankie merely smiled. "Are you absolutely sure about that?"
*BOOM!*
The explosion clouded the whole field with smoke. Even then, the three former pirate commanders were absolutely sure they were the winners of the duel.
"The game is over!" rejoiced Commander Leon.
"Sledge and friends win!" put in Commander Sledge.
"My revenge will soon be complete!" finished Commander Laura, ready to turn her attention to Frankie.
The smoke soon cleared away. When it did, it was revealed that Hurricane...was still standing (LP: 2200 - 10).
"WHAT?!" gasped Commander Laura.
"HUH?!" Both Commander Leon and Commander Sledge gawked.
Diesel 10 was also surprised on how Hurricane was able to survive such a devastating attack by his opponent. Back in the duel field, Hurricane finally seemed to smirk over surviving Commander Laura's attack.
"Why do you guys look so surprised?" he teased. "Did you believe that attack would be enough to do me in? Well, I'm sorry to say it didn't happen."
"How you survive?" demanded Commander Sledge.
"You had no cards on your field!" added Commander Leon.
"Your biggest mistake was destroying my field of Spells and Traps." Hurricane pointed out, sounding and looking cold once more. "By doing that, my ultimate trap had been set." He then pointed towards Commander Laura. "And by using 'Master Diamond's' effect repeatedly in an attempt to finish me off, you've triggered my trap!"
"W-What are you-?" stuttered Commander Laura.
Hurricane reached into his Graveyard and pulled a card out to show his three opponents. It was a Trap Card called 'Raidraptor - Readiness'. The sight once again shocked the three pirate commanders, but none more so than Commander Laura (since she was the one who attempted to defeat Hurricane in the first place).
"This is a Trap Card called 'Raidraptor - Readiness'." explained Hurricane. "Normally, if I would take damage, I can make that damage become zero. However, it has a second effect but can only be used if it were in the Graveyard... During either player's turn, if I would take Effect Damage, I can remove this card from my Graveyard and while my Life Points do become 10, I reduce all of that Effect Damage to zero and I take no Battle Damage for the rest of this turn."
"You... you were never worried about being defeated at all!" realized Commander Laura, knowing that she could not attack the brown/red-haired boy at the moment.
"Correct." Hurricane confirmed.
"So what if you managed to survive Laura's attacks?" asked Commander Leon, thinking that he and his two friends could still win. "You still have Sledge and I to deal with. Not to mention your hand is completely empty!"
"Come either Sledge or Leon's next turn-" added Commander Sledge. "-you, punk, will lose the duel!"
Hurricane frowned. "There won't 'be' a next turn."
"What?!" gasped Commander Laura.
"What did that guy say?" put in Commander Sledge.
"There's no next turn for any of us?" finished Commander Leon.
"On my turn, I'm going to win the duel." threatened Hurricane, sounding surprisingly vicious. "I'm going to destroy all three of you at once!" he then drew a card powerfully. "It's...MY TURN!"
The force of the draw was so powerful that Commander Laura, Commander Sledge, and Commander Leon each had to brace themselves from the blast of wind. Diesel 10, meanwhile, was watching the duel in amazement, but was still wondering how Hurricane was going to pull off a one turn kill on three opponents at the same time.
Turn Six: Hurricane Decapod (LP: 10)
Deck: 53
Current Hand (1): "Dimension Xyz"
Without wasting a second, Hurricane slotted his drawn card into his Black Disk.
"I activate my final Spell Card - 'Dimension Xyz'!" he announced. "If I have 1000 or less Life Points, I can immediately after this card resolves, Xyz Summon one Xyz Monster using three monsters with the same name from my side of the field, hand, or Graveyard only."
"C-Crap!" wailed Commander Sledge. "Sledge use 'Gottoms's' effect to send your whole hand to the Graveyard; and it happened to contain your three 'Raidraptor' Monsters!"
The Overlay Network reappeared in the center of the duel field.
"It's time for the falcon to take flight!" boomed Hurricane, as three monsters were sucked from his Graveyard into the Overlay Network. "I overlay the three Level 4 'Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius'! With these three Winged Beast monsters, I build the Overlay Network!"
Commander Laura, Commander Sledge, and Commander Leon each watched on in horror as the Xyz Summon sequence commenced...
"Obscured falcon, raise your sharpened talons in front of adversity, spread your wings of rebellion!" chanted Hurricane, before letting out a hotblooded scream of... "Xyz SUMMON! Appear! Rank 4 - 'Raidraptor - Rise Falcon'!"
Appearing onto the field, as the Xyz Summon sequence came to an end, was a large robotic bird with four wings (Rank: 4/ATK: 100/DEF: 2000).
"An Attack Power of...100?" blinked Commander Sledge.
"This monster can attack all Special Summoned monsters on the field." explained Hurricane. "Which is what all three of you control!"
"What nonsense are you even spouting?!" scoffed Commander Leon. "There's no way you can beat us with that low Attack Points!"
Unfortunately, the former pirate second-in-command was dead wrong...
"I activate 'Rise Falcon's' effect." retorted Hurricane. "Once per turn, I can detach one Xyz Material from this monster; it gains Attack Points equal to the combined Attack Power of all face-up Special Summoned monsters my opponent currently controls until the end of this turn."
This was the combined Attack Power of all the monsters controlled by the former pirate commanders:
-'Constellar Pleiades' (ATK: 2500)
-'Constellar Ptolemy M7' (ATK: 2700)
-'XX-Saber Hyunlei' (ATK: 2300)
-'XX-Saber Gottoms' (ATK: 3100)
-'Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli' (ATK: 2400)
-'Gem-Knight Master Diamond' (ATK: 3300)
As expected, 'Raidraptor - Rise Falcon' started to absorb the amount of power those six monsters had. Soon, 'Raidraptor - Rise Falcon's' Attack Power started rising to an enormous level (ATK: 100 - 16400).
"1-16400?!" recoiled Commander Sledge.
"No way!" cried Commander Laura.
"Seriously?!" added Commander Leon.
At that point, it was crystal clear the trio was done for...
"BATTLE!" shouted Hurricane, entering the Battle Phase. "'Raidraptor - Rise Falcon', rend and tear all of our enemies! BRAVE CLAW REVOLUTION!"
'Raidraptor - Rise Falcon' obeyed, charging its jets, taking off into the sky, and then divebombing the six enemy monsters at the same time. Because they were so much weaker than 'Raidraptor - Rise Falcon', 'Constellar Pleiades','Constellar Ptolemy M7', 'XX-Saber Hyunlei', 'XX-Saber Gottoms', 'Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli', and 'Gem-Knight Master Diamond' all exploded due to destruction. Commander Laura, Commander Sledge, and Commander Leon, each screaming in pain and dread, were sent flying across the room until they slammed into the nearby wall, destroying it briefly. Nearby, Diesel 10 was wide eyed and amazed from watching the awesome final attack by Hurricane.
"Oh man, what an amazing finisher that was!" he admired. "But that Black Disk? Now I really want one of those babies! Hmm... I wonder if the captain would be willing to give 'me' one? Hmm... I wonder..."
Over with Commander Laura, Commander Sledge, and Commander Leon... The trio had been beaten; their Life Points did not withstand the devastating attack (LP: 4000 - 0) x3.
DUEL RESULTS: Hurricane Decapod wins!
As the smoke finally cleared, the remaining holograms faded. As expected, the Bio-Bands activated, shocking all four duelists of their energy. Once more, Commander Laura, Commander Sledge, and Commander Leon each fell unconscious from the drainage. Hurricane, meanwhile, barely lost any of his energy. Frankie, having watched her best friend deliver a brutal beating to the three pirate commanders, was very pleased. She slowly approached the trio with the intention of taunting them.
"Well, I certainly hope you three know your places as of now." The blue/green-haired girl said to the unconscious bodies of Commander Laura, Commander Sledge, and Commander Leon, even though they couldn't hear or respond back. "And I was being friendly at the moment. If I wasn't friendly? Well, let's not go there." She then turned her attention to the pirates still in the room. "Show's over. All of you may leave."
The pirates did as they were told. Satisfied, Frankie approached Hurricane to speak to him...
"Well done, Hurricane. You taught the traitors some manners."
"Thank you, Frankie." bowed Hurricane. "Now, do you want me to deal with those friends of Thomas and Emily? I think they're going to cause us more trouble than we realized."
"By all means." nodded Frankie, allowing her brown/red-haired friend to go after the heroes. "Most importantly, I want you to deal with those three other traitors now helping those goody-two shoes."
Nodding, Hurricane turned and left the room. Now alone, Frankie suddenly remembered something important...
"Oh, yes." she chuckled. "I need to speak to Diesel 10 about something."
To the blue/green-haired girl's surprise, Diesel 10 had secretly left the room while she was distracted by the excitement of the final attack.
"What?! Where did-?" Frankie then realized something... "He's going to try it again..."
(elsewhere...)
The door to the main office opened up slowly, and Diesel 10, seeing that there was nobody else there, entered the room.
"As much as I want one of those Black Disks-" The ochre-haired man whispered. "-what I want more is one of those cards belonging to the 'captain'."
He approached the desk and opened one of the top drawers, with the sight causing his eyes to show nothing but pure greed. Inside the desk drawer was Frankie's 'Burning Abyss'/'Wicked God' Deck. If there was one card Diesel 10 wanted from that Deck, it was one of the three 'Wicked God' Cards.
"Nobody is around, so I think I'll help myself to one of the cards." Diesel 10 snickered, starting to reach for the Deck.
Alas...
"DIESEL 10!" The voice of Frankie shouted, truly furious.
Diesel 10 froze when he heard the yell. Standing in the doorway of the office, looking upset, was Frankie.
"C-C-Captain!" stuttered Diesel 10. "F-Fancy seeing you here."
"Don't think I've forgotten about you, Diesel 10." warned Frankie, slowly walking towards one of her pirates. "Now, I think it's time we had that little talk, wouldn't you agree?"
"W-What are you gonna do to me?" squirmed Diesel 10, becoming nervous. He then tried to think of an excuse to save his hide. "I mean, I know I lost to one of those brats, but I did manage at least 'one' win, y'know."
"That, I'm aware of, and I was originally going to let you go since you managed at least one win. But then I catch you trying to get at my Deck again!"
"Yeah, not exactly my best idea." The ochre-haired man chuckled nervously, starting to back away towards the corner of the room while Frankie continued to slowly approaching. "Y-You know, I wasn't really going to steal your cards; I was just going to take a look at them." Soon, he was trapped in his corner. "Come on, please forgive me! I won't try to steal from your Deck again, I swear!"
Alas, Frankie continued to approach. Diesel 10, sweating fearfully, looked to his lower right and spotted something that made him smile; a stapler was shown to be on a small table beside him.
"Now, how shall we begin this little 'talk'?" smirked Frankie, not paying attention to what her pirate had planned.
Diesel 10 seemed to sigh. "I think I know how we can."
"Oh? And what could that be?" Frankie asked, before it was too late.
"THIS!" shouted Diesel 10, quickly picking up the stapler and smacking it into Frankie's face.
Crying out, the blue/green-haired girl fell to the floor while clutching onto her face. This allowed Diesel 10 time to try and get at the blue/green-haired girl's Deck and then escape. However, as he tried running for the desk, he tripped and fell onto his face by Frankie sticking her left leg out. Quickly, Frankie, despite her nose bleeding, managed to get up and pounce onto her pirate.
"You've just made the biggest mistake of your life!" she growled.
Diesel 10 growled back. "D-Damn you!"
He then managed to kick Frankie off of him, sending her flying across the room and crashing into the nearby bookshelves, destroying them and scattering the books about. Getting back up and dusting himself off, Diesel 10 approached the opened desk again.
"Now, I think I'll help myself to this Deck." The ochre-haired man remarked, once again reaching for the 'Burning Abyss'/'Wicked God' Deck. "These cards will make me a-"
All of a sudden, a loud, angry yell was heard.
"What the-?"
The shout caused Diesel 10 to look back towards the destroyed bookshelf, where Frankie laid. An aura of darkness started to form around the blue/green-haired girl, and although she had yelled in anger a few seconds ago, that anger had quickly turned into quiet, demented laughter.
"That was painful, Diesel 10... Very painful, indeed..." 'Frankie' whispered, while slowly and wobbly returning to her feet. Once she was standing again, she raised her head up and revealed a frightening glow in her eyes, noticeable veins around her face, and her mouth had formed a slasher-like smile. "I think I'll repay you for it in-kind, but at ten times the pain!"
Without saying a word about the whole scene, Diesel 10, becoming very frightened of the awakened Frankie, began to slowly back away again, with the possessed blue/green-haired girl once again beginning to approach. This time, it was to possibly torture the traitor to death, or something along those lines. At long last, Diesel 10 started to speak in order to beg for mercy...
"N-No... Stay away!" he pleaded. "Look, I'm sorry! I was only joking around... C-Can't you take a joke?"
"Those who ask for mercy are too weak to deserve it." hissed Frankie (possessed), not stopping with the approaching.
"Please! Keep away from me! I won't do it again! I was... No! Augh... AAAAAAHHHHHH!"
Unfortunately, his pleading and begging was viciously ignored by the reincarnation of the 'Artist of Insanity'.
