Silenced fill the wintery air as frozen hearts became ablazed by fiery rage. Spirits broke and minds screamed demonic shrills so loudly that Edward had to cover his ears as though to block them out. One by one, voices released those loud screams of anger and sadness, the ground shook underneath their feet, the tree branches bend and grew to impossible lengths. And out by the entrance of the thick forest, a brother's heart shattered, his sight swallowed up by darkness, his muscles contracted, a loud shriek echoed in his mind, a sharp hiss escaped his lips.

Vampires, Quilettes, and Hybrids alike stared at the dismembered body of Aaren Cullen laying in broken hunks of earth and thick, blood dripping roots. Her head laid half buried in the snow, her blue eye started to fade to black, blood stained the snow at the base of her neck and dripped from her nose. At this moment, the three species had another thing in common, one that didn't involve protecting the Alpha's pups. Eve and Julia were screaming and flames danced in their palms. Jayme hissed loudly and beastly. Before things got any worse, Jacob shouted at Leah, Nessie and Holden to run with the children. Nessie spun around, clutching a petrified Sarah tightly and took off at the speed of light. Leah, who had transformed into her wolf form, nudged Daniel so hard that he stumbled into the snow. Michael looked back and forth between his parents, panic in his wide eyes, before Holden hoisted him onto his back and took off after Nessie with Leah and Daniel not far behind.

Jacob watched them being pulled further and further away, his gaze locked onto Sarah's now emotionless stare as though this would be the last time they would see each other. More than anything, he wanted to run with them, he wanted to be the one to protect them. Who else is more capable of taking care of these Hybrid children than their parents?

Edward watched Carlisle at the edge of the forest with intense concern. His teary blue eyes turned pure white, fangs pearl white and sharp, fierce anger and hatred plastered on his face, his thoughts shrieking. He snarled like a hungry beast, his shoulder's moved up and down in a heavy breathing motion, his hands facing outwards with his palms facing towards them, his fingers bending just slightly. An strong, icey wind blew through Edwards bangs and to Carlisle. The air spun around him in rapid circles, tossing his blond hair up like spikes, snow and twigs caught in the mix kissed his skin, blowing through his jacket like a small cape. Suddenly, Carlisle leaped out of the forest with his arms behind him, his feet flew through the snow and towards his father. With a loud shriek, Carlisle blasted gust of wind at him, spiraling like a tornado caught inside a ball. Horror stricken, Paul jumped back, he raised his arms and large chunks of earth shout out and fired at Carlisle.

"MOTHER!" A shrilling screamed pierced the air.

Rosalie gasped and jumped back, her long finger nails digging into Emmett's sleeve of his leather jacket. Emmett's large hand clutched Rosalie's hand, using his other arm to shield her, his hazel eyes kept a close watch on the Elder's. Bellatrix's expression changed from worrisome to horrified, her thin hand covered her mouth. Her abyss-colored eyes hopped between Jayme, Carlisle and Emily, terrified that one of them would attack her and her daughters. Her heart and soul, suddenly, ached and anger boiled inside her gut. Just like Carlisle, she, too, wanted to attack Paul and save Aaren. Bellatrix never, really, cared much for Aaren or her family. Her only priority was that everyone obeyed her rules and left her daughters alone. She couldn't understand what was happening or why she was feeling such sorrow.

She looked at her equally confused sister for answers. Mikaela remained emotionless, her keen dark gray eyes scanned the crowd of howling Hybrid's, finding Emily in between a terrified Mordecai and a screaming Jayme. Tears poured from her light green eyes, her fingers entangled in her blond hair, her pale face twisted in pain and sorrow. Her face grew red as her voice gave out a sharp hiss, she slammed down to one knee, slammed her hands onto the ground and pulled out two dirt-made spears.

"Edward!" Bella shouted, grasping his hand, pointing to the Mikaela and Bellatrix. He turned back to the Elder's just as Mikaela waved her hand in the air, twisting it back and forth like she was twisting a bottle cap, encasing them in the center of a vortex. Riordan slid in between the uncertain Brittan and Joice, he reached out his hand, spread his fingers and a wall of water hid the three of them. Bellatrix dashed over and stood in front of the wall, a fierce look crossed her once fearful gaze, daring anyone to come near. Her lips mumbled several words and, then, she slammed her boot onto the snow.

"Rise and defend!" She screamed as several earth-made soldiers emerged from under the snow. Five larger ones, covered in slush, mud and roots, formed a barrier around the Elders while the endless amount of smaller and similar looking ones barged at the Cullens, Hybrids and the Pack.

A dark, sinister, shrieking laugh echoed throughout the sky, catching everyone's attention. Jacob felt a cold chill run down his spine, the snow around him melted so fast any human would think Jacob was giving off a heat wave. The snow melted into puddles, but didn't seep into the soil. Instead, the morphed into drops.

Damn, snow is water, he thought to himself as he risked a glance down at his mate. The scene was like something he had seen in a science-fiction film. The water droplets circled Jayme, blond hair tied back tightly, blue eyes now pure white, her smile wide and creepy with her fangs digging into her lip. Her arm was stretched out in front of her. The drops feel into circular formation around her palm and in front of her fingers, taking a spear-like shape at the tip. Around the palm of her hand, the drops mashed together, shaped into a 'T' and the tips flattened, quickly, both tips met in the middle, the cold air turned the water to ice and became a sword. Her breath came out like sharp hisses, her fingers clasped around the hilt, her boots dug into the mud in a pounce position. Jacob knew what was coming; her blue eyes had faded into a snow white color, the color of the eye's vitreous humor, her skin shimmered, her pearl white fangs dug into her lips, claws sharp like a newborn kitten's.

"Bastard! Killer! Traitor!" The crowd screamed in sync. Hybrid's summoned their element, turning the basic elements into weapons conjured in their minds like a child drawing a picture. Rosalie gasped, watching the many eyes glow, the earth shook under her feet, promises of violence and vengeance soared. She knew there was no stopping them, none of the Cullen's or the Pack would dare try.

Edward fought back the uncertainty and uneasy feeling his chest as he turned to watch his daughter just as she was about to enter the deeper part of the woods. Reneesme met his gaze, her fingers clinging onto Sarah's back, her chocolate brown eyes begging for both Edward and Bella to survive, that she would still have her family when she returned.

Unsure of how to reassure her, Edward bit his lower lip and gave her a firm nod. The Hybrids ran past him with Jayme ahead of them. The Cullen family glanced around at each other in a daze; Esme was scared of what was happening to Carlisle, the Pack looked to Jacob for direction and answers, the rest of the family just stood still in the snow and watched the battle unfold.

Jayme was, hardly, leaving footprints in the snow. Her ice blade sliced through the earth giants as though the were like leaves under her foot. The Fire manipulators left steamy foot prints and burning piles of earth. Earth manipulators created craters in the ground and summoned their own soldiers, some lugged boulder size balls of soil and roots at the giants. Even Emily showed her true rage as an Earth manipulator, bouncing off the other Hybrids, using the dead piles of the Earthen creatures as weapons, trying to get a shot at Paul, the Elders, anyone who she deemed an enemy.

The Cullen's and the Pack wanted to fight, to aid them in their battle, to take a bite out of Bellatrix and Paul. But, no one could move, the Pack stood ready in defense positions and Emmett, Edward and Jasper formed a line like football players, shielding their women. Emmett prayed that one of them would start coming towards them, he wondered how great victory would taste once he defeated an Elder. Jasper and Edward had to nullify their powers and focus, keeping an eye for anyone who spotted them and made the the next target. Bella and Rosalie grasped onto their husband's sleeves, glancing behind them as more of the Earth barged past them. Alice held on to Esme, praying that she would have a vision that would show her the outcome of the battle.

The outcome of the elemental war.
