Klaus stands in the middle of the warehouse looking at his older brother dangling from a water pipe that runs right across the lower part of the roof. Elijah's tip toes are just about touching the floor and both of his wrists are chained up tightly. He has dried blood that has dripped from the gash on his forehead, the result of being hit twice with a hammer by Robert. There is also dried up blood around his nose, once again an injury given to him by Robert. He looks a mess. Klaus isn't sure he has ever seen Elijah in such a weak and vulnerable state before, and things are only going to get worse.

Turning around he looks at Hayley who is chained up to the same pipe as Elijah a few metres away. Unlike Elijah, she has been in and out of consciousness since they brought her in. She has a large, black bruise on her temple where Robert hit her with his baton earlier on. Apart from that she looks untouched, which Klaus finds hard to understand. He wanted them both to come to him bleeding and in agony, and yet Hayley looks almost fine.

Kol walks in with a bottle of champagne in one hand and a musty, old looking, blue metal tool box in the other. Robert follows him in carrying a wooden chair. When they reach Klaus, Robert places the chair down and Kol puts the box on top of it. He then puts the bottle of champagne on the floor next to the chair and comes to stand next to Klaus.

"Do you think they know just how much pain they are going to experience tonight?" Kol asks, looking up and down Hayley's body.

Klaus looks up at his now ex-wife's face and tilts his head slightly.

"I think that their deaths will be seen as a blessing", Klaus replies.

Kol smirks.

"There's some good stuff in the tool box that you'll want to try out". Kol tells Klaus. "And the champagne is to start our big celebration with once this is all done with. It's a very fancy bottle, I had it shipped in from France".

"Sounds wonderful, brother".

Kol turns and looks at Elijah. The young man he was once afraid of, now dangles before him as a nobody, as nothing. This may be the day that his family falls apart, but it certainly won't be a day that he looks back on with regret. His family have always struggled to understand and accept him, just as they have Klaus. Tonight has been long overdue.

"I'll leave you to it then, brother". Kol announces, turning to look at Klaus again. "We'll be outside in the car when you're done".

Klaus does not respond and Kol doesn't stand around waiting. He makes his way to the exit, Robert following him quickly. Klaus turns and watches them both slip under the half open shutter before Kol drags it down the rest of the way. Shutting Klaus in with the two people he hates the most in the world. He hears Hayley make a noise and he turns to see her moving her head slightly, eyes still closed. He then walks to the chair which has the tool box sitting on top of it. He opens the box and raises an eyebrow at what he sees inside. Knives, tasers, a bone-saw, a small but heavy looking hammer, bottles of acid and a gun. That's just the stuff he can see without digging through the box.

Hayley makes a grumbling sound, like she has just woke up from a hangover. Klaus picks out his first tool of the night and looks down at it as he holds it in both of his hands, judging it's weight.

Hayley shakes her head, hoping that it will rid the pain in her left temple. It doesn't, in fact if anything it seems to make her head feel worse. She definitely won't be doing that again. She finally works up the courage to open her eyes and she instantly wishes that she had of just kept them shut and pretended to be dead. Klaus is stood in front of her holding what looks like a very unfriendly hammer.

She really does not want to take her eyes off of him, but she has to when she sees Elijah dangling a few metres away. She swallows the lump in her throat and blinks quickly to stop any tears from rising to her eyes. She doesn't want Klaus to see her cry, or to know how upset and scared she really is. Elijah still isn't awake and seeing the dried blood around his face makes her think that he might not be waking up any time soon.

"I didn't think you'd be waking up so soon". Klaus says, taking a few steps closer to her. "Ah well, I guess that means we can start the party early".

"Klaus please-"

"Please what?" Klaus interrupts, walking closer still. "Do you really think that I am going to listen to anything that comes out of your mouth?" He stops as he comes to stand directly in front of her. "You seem to have misunderstood the situation, Hayley. I haven't brought you here to talk... I've brought you here to end you".

"Klaus-", she tries to speak but never finishes her sentence.

Klaus swings and the metal block at the end of the hammer and hits her in her ribs causing her to shout out in pain. Klaus then looks down at the hammer with a small smile on his face; he didn't think it would be that effective. He then looks back up at Hayley, still smiling before he swings again, this time hitting her hip bone. Hayley shouts out again and clenches her fists as hard as she can to try and help her cope with the pain.

It doesn't take many hits for Klaus to get bored of the hammer. He chucks it to the floor and walks back over to the box, this time tipping it upside down and watching everything fall from it to the floor. He then drops the box to the floor as well and looks around at his options. His eyes light up when they finally settle on a small axe and he instantly makes his way to it.

Just as he picks the axe up from the floor, Elijah stirs and instantly starts pulling against his chains. After a few hard, painful tugs on the chains he looks around the room and his heart sinks when his eyes settle on Hayley. He had hoped that she could have gotten away with Marcel, but that was too much to ask for it seems. He then lets his gaze drift to Klaus who is stood a few feet away from him, looking back at him, an evil glimmer in his eye and a small axe in his hand.

"If you touch her", Elijah says, his voice deep and threatening.

"What?" Klaus asks, stepping right up to his brother. "What will you do? You're all chained up".

Elijah tugs on his chains hard again and clenches his teeth together in frustration. He hates to admit it but his brother is right. He can make all the threats that he wants, but he isn't going anywhere and he has no way of following those threats through right now. There is quite literally nothing that he can do to stop Klaus. And from the look on Klaus' face, he knows this too.

Klaus smiles, knowing that Elijah can't harm him, or stop him from harming Hayley. His smile is evil and cruel. He feels powerful and hungry. As if he is a wolf and he has just brought down and ate the largest deer in the forest and yet he is still famished.

"Not so strong now, Elijah", Klaus says.

Without another word, Klaus swings the axe and sinks into Elijah's chest. He hears Hayley screaming 'no' just before the axe hits, but he ignores her. Elijah grits his teeth as hard as humanly possible and closes his eyes as he lets out a groan. Klaus then yanks the axe out and Elijah groans again as blood instantly starts to drip from him and soak through his shirt. Klaus repeats the motion with the axe, this time hitting Elijah's waist. The older brother groans even louder and Klaus smiles as he looks up at pain he sees in Elijah's features. The blade is not big enough to cut very deep, but it is certainly sharp enough to break the skin.

"Stop it!" Hayley shouts. "Just fucking stop it!"

Klaus turns to look at her to see tears rolling down her cheeks. If she had of stay quiet any longer he might have forgotten that she was there he was that pleased with finally seeing his brother suffer. He slowly walks back over to Hayley, leaving the axe in Elijah's waist. The corner of his mouth starts lifting at the thought of smacking all of the happiness that she has had with his older brother out of her.

"Niklaus", Elijah says sternly, fighting through his pain.

His little brother ignores him and continues towards Hayley, knowing that he can't be stopped.

"Niklaus!" Elijah shouts, pulling against his chains even though it causes great pain in his wrists to do so.

Klaus reaches Hayley and wastes no time. As soon as she is within touching distance, he smacks her as hard as he can right in her jaw. He can hear Elijah shouting and fighting with his restraints behind him, but he pays him no attention. Instead, he hits Hayley again and again, only stopping to dodge the blood she spits at him.

Shaking his head, Klaus grabs Hayley by her chin roughly and holds her head there as he looks into her eyes. She is panting and she doesn't look anywhere nearly as broken and ruined as he wants her to be. He clenches his fist and releases her chin before turning to look down at his weapons that are scattered around the floor. He will break her, even if it is the last thing he ever does, which it probably will be. He knows Rebekah and Marcel will have involved the police by now and he doesn't expect to come out of this easily. It will either be prison, or death for him after this.

"Leave her be". Elijah speaks again and is ignored once again. "Niklaus, I am to blame this. It was all me".

Klaus crouches down and picks up the bone-saw. "So, you're the provocateur are you?"

"Yes. It was all me", Elijah replies.

"Elijah". Hayley says, frowning at him. The last thing she wants it for him to take all of the blame for something they are both equally guilty parties in. Especially when taking all of the blame will have a terrible outcome for him.

Klaus throws the bone-saw back down. It's too early for him to be using that. He stands up and looks around the floor again, waiting for something to jump out at him.

"Let me do this, Hayley". Elijah pleads, desperate to protect her.

"Like hell I'm going to let you take all of the blame", she replies.

"But I am the only one to blame". Elijah knows that he is fighting a losing battle with her, but still he has to try.

"She seems to think differently". Klaus comments as he moves towards a shiny knife.

"She's wrong", Elijah says quickly.

Hayley shakes her head at him, shocked at how willing he is to die for her. She guesses that he would only be even more willing if he knew about the baby. Klaus leans down and picks up a knife with a thin twisting blade. He smiles at the knife as he stands up straight again. This one is bound to cause searing pain.

Klaus looks up from the weapon and looks at Elijah and then Hayley. "We could have this argument all night, but there are much more pressing things that need be taken care of".

Klaus looks back at Elijah and gives him his most evil smile before he walks over to Hayley, knife in hand. Again Elijah pulls on his chains, but the only thing he is successful in doing is making his wrists burn and bleed. He has never felt so pathetically weak and useless in his life and he hates it.

"Niklaus, don't", Elijah says desperately.

Hayley shakes her head as Klaus approaches her. He can hit her all night if he wants, but being stabbed with that thing in the wrong place could kill her and her baby. Klaus smirks and without warning shoves the knife into Hayley's thigh. She screams out in pain while Elijah shouts in anger, still trying to release himself from his chains even though it is obviously impossible.

Klaus leaves the knife where it is and then hits Hayley in her jaw once again. Blood flies out of her mouth upon impact and she also feels one of her teeth wobble, which is definitely not what she needs. If she gets out of this, she will have to go to a dentist and she hates the dentist. Klaus leaves the knife in Hayley's thigh, not wanting to risk pulling it out so she can bleed to death before he is done. He then looks down at the floor and sees another knife, a combat knife and he leans down to pick it up.

He places the knife at her wrist and runs it down her arm, blood following behind the knife. Hayley closes her eyes and grits her teeth, trying not to gag with the amount of blood she can taste in her mouth. Elijah shouts even louder, he sounds like a lion roaring, but is still ignored as Klaus takes his knife from Hayley's arm. He is going to have to say, or do something extremely drastic to get his brother to leave Hayley alone and come over to him instead.

Slowly, Klaus runs the very tip of the knife drown the left side of Hayley's blouse. It rips slightly as he goes and Hayley is filled with an uncontrollable panic when he stops the knife at her stomach. She breathes in as much as she can and looks down at Klaus, hoping that maybe he will see how desperate she is for him not to do this by the look in her eyes. But that doesn't seem to matter to him and he quickly slashes at her stomach.

Hayley screams and quickly looks down at where he just cut. It doesn't feel deep, but she doesn't know if that could hurt her baby or not. There is only a small layer of skin protecting him, or her after all and as Klaus has already proved, skin can be cut and ripped away quite easily.

Klaus makes eye contact with her again as he presses the tip of the knife against her stomach again. He isn't just going to make a cut this time, she can see it in his eyes. She can feel her own heart beating almost out of her chest, she can feel herself shaking with fear and she can hear Elijah shouting, and trying to get to her. She knows that what she is about to do could get her killed just as easily as saying nothing, but at least it might buy her some time.

Hayley feels the tip of the blade break her skin and she closes her eyes tightly.

"I'm pregnant".

She isn't sure what she expected to happen, but she can't feel the blade getting any deeper so that is a good thing. Slowly, she opens her eyes to see Klaus staring back at her, his eyes wide and full of shock. She wants to risk a look at Elijah because she knows she said it loud enough for him to hear, but she is petrified of what might happen if she takes her eyes off of Klaus.

Hayley swallows nervously and she feels a tear roll down her cheek. She doesn't know whether she just saved her baby, or endangered it, but the tension in the room does not feel good at all. She feels like she is drowning, suffocating in deep waters and no one will throw her a rope. She really wants someone to throw her a rope.

Finally, Klaus makes a move. He turns away from her and puts his head in his hand, hiding his face from them both. While he is distracted, Hayley looks over at Elijah and sees that he is already looking at her. He is speechless and he looks immensely shocked. He shouldn't be really considering he was there at the time the baby was made and he knows that there were never any condoms involved, but he probably presumed that she was on the pill.

Elijah's eyes drop to Hayley's stomach. He has just been given the best new of his life and he can't even celebrate it, or find it within him to be happy about it right now. Because Hayley being pregnant makes her even more of a target for Klaus. And if he kills Hayley, then he kills their baby as well. He has just been told that everything he has ever wanted is right there in front of him, but it could all be taken from him any minute now and all he can do is watch. It's heartbreaking.

Klaus suddenly comes back to life and grips Hayley by her throat tightly, causing her to gasp for air. Elijah comes back to life as well, shouting and pulling on his chains harder than ever. He then rips her blouse open, revealing her stomach and looks down at it. She knows exactly what he is looking for, but she isn't that far gone to be showing yet. He then looks back up at her, his eyes full of hate.

"You're lying", Klaus growls at her.

Hayley shakes her head. "I'm not. I promise, Klaus. I promise".

The hate in his eyes softens for a second. He knows that she doesn't make promise that she can't keep and he always knows when she is lying. She is a terrible liar. An she would never make a promise if she was lying about it and that just infuriates him even more.

"You filthy fucking whore". Klaus says, pressing the tip of the blade against her stomach again.

"Don't you fucking dare!"

Elijah's voice echos through the warehouse and Klaus stops. Both he and Hayley look equally shocked. Klaus because he doesn't think he has ever heard the much aggression from Elijah before, even in all of the years that he has known his brother and Hayley because she has never heard him shout that loud, or use the word 'fucking' before.

Surprisingly, Klaus listens to his brother. He moves the knife from Hayley's stomach and releases her neck. He then turns around to look at Elijah, who looks anger than he ever has before. Elijah always did have a legendary temper when her was a teenager and it seems that it is still there, it just takes more to bring it out these days. If Klaus hadn't have drank so much earlier he would be running in the other direction right now, even though he is the who is unchained and holding a weapon.

Elijah and Klaus continue to look at each other, both of their eyes filled with hate for the other. Elijah is trying to keep his rage contained, but he can feel it slipping and that never ends well. Maybe it is a good thing that he is chained up considering what he would do if he wasn't.

"I had sex with Hayley in your bed". Elijah says and Hayley looks at him with a confused expression. While Klaus looks even angrier than he was before.

"There's nothing noble about you really is there, brother?" Klaus asks, rhetorically. He takes two steps forwards. "It's all just an illusion. Something that you made up to help yourself forget the horrible things you do. I bet she wouldn't want you if she even knew half of it".

"Our baby was probably conceived in your bed". Elijah says, a tinge of ruthlessness starting to show in his eyes.

Those words are all it takes for Klaus to snap. He charges over to Elijah and stabs him in his ribs. Elijah shouts loudly in pain, Hayley screams and Klaus smiles viciously. He then leaves the knife and rips the axe from Elijah's waist, shouting in anger as he swings it, hitting Elijah in the side of his torso. Klaus then rips the axe away and swings it before hitting almost the exact same place again. He is losing his sanity and he continues to swing and hit, each time causing Elijah to shout out in pain.

The axe isn't enough. Klaus throws the axe across the warehouse floor and yanks a key from his pocket. He quickly unlocks Elijah's chains, knowing that his cable ties are still in place and throws the key over near Hayley as Elijah drops to the floor with a thud, and a loud groan. He then kicks his brother as hard as he can in his stomach continuously until that doesn't feel like that is enough. He is filled with rage and hate and he doesn't know how to channel it. Nothing is calming the fire that is burning inside of him.

Klaus shouts and shoves his knee against Elijah's chest to hold him down before he punches him in the face. He punches him again and again and again, Elijah's face and Klaus' fist both becoming more and more red with every hit. He is that blind with rage that he can't even hear Hayley's screams anymore. All he can hear is the sound that his fist makes eye time it makes contact with Elijah's face.

After one particularly hard hit, Klaus stands up again, panting as he looks down at his brother. Elijah coughs and turns onto his side as he spits out a mouthful of blood. Klaus then kicks him in the stomach again before leaning down and pulling the knife from his body. Elijah winces and groans, clenching his fists to stop himself from screaming like he wants to.

Still not satisfied, Klaus throws the knife on the floor and turns away from Elijah. He makes his way over to the chair and grabs it by the back rest before dragging it over to where Elijah is lay. He then lifts the chair over his head and brings it down as powerfully as he can on his brother. The chair breaks upon contact and Elijah groans again. Klaus growls before he kicks Elijah in the stomach, right where one of his wounds are. Elijah shouts out and ends up coughing before he spits out more blood onto the floor.

Klaus then storms over to the bottle of champagne and picks it up. The bottle feels heavy and the glass feels thick, which makes it a perfect weapon. He storms back over to Elijah and brings the bottle up high above his head before he sends it crashing down on Elijah's head. Elijah groans as a terrible throbbing pain makes it's way around his head, but the bottle doesn't break. This only frustrates Klaus more and he repeats his actions, hitting Elijah even harder with the bottle this time and this time, it breaks. Drowning Elijah in champagne and little pieces of glass.

Elijah coughs loudly, champagne dripping from his head. He shakes his head before he lets it drop to the floor as he pants. Hayley bites her bottom lip, tears streaming down her face as she sees Elijah lay there beaten and bruised with blood dripping from his mouth. Her throat is hurting from how loud she was screaming, but Klaus couldn't seem to hear her. He was like an animal. If there was a way for her to reach the key that he threw her way, she would grab it, get free and kill him without a seconds hesitation. Especially after what she has just seen.

Also panting, Klaus drops to his knees in front of Elijah, the broken top of the champagne bottle still in his hand. He grabs Elijah by his shirt and moves the sharp glass in his hand to Elijah's throat. He presses the glass into his brother's throat, only just break the skin and is just about to slash it across when Elijah suddenly brings both of his cable tied hands up to Klaus' neck and stabs him with the same knife that he dropped not even ten minutes ago. He pushes the knife in as deep as it will go and when blood starts to drip from Klaus' mouth, he slashes it across his neck quickly.

Klaus moves his hand from the glass he was holding at Elijah's throat and moves his hands to his own neck. But it is too late. He pulls the knife from his neck and falls backwards onto the floor, blood pouring out from his neck in pints as he gasps and chokes on his own blood. Seconds later, everything goes silent and all of the fear seems to disappear from the room.

Klaus is dead.

Elijah drags the glass out of his neck and reaches out to grab the knife one last time. He pulls it to him, turns it upside down and cuts through his cable ties with it. He then drips the knife to the floor and slowly pushes up off of the floor. He stumbles the first time and has to try again, but he manages to stand up. Swaying slightly, he makes his way over to Hayley, stopping just before he reaches her to lean down to pick up the key.

After nearly falling twice while getting the key, Elijah finally steadies himself again and takes the final few steps to Hayley. He leans up and unlocks her chains, trying to catch her so she doesn't fall to the floor the way he did when he was released, but she manages to land on her feet.

Elijah's hand grips her waist tightly and his head falls to her shoulder as he pulls her body as close to his as it can be. Hayley rubs her cheek against his shoulder and grips his shirt with both hands. She would wrap her arms around his but she still has her cable ties around her wrists. Getting them off can wait though, all she wants right now is to be in Elijah's arms. He knows that she is pregnant as well now which means she no longer has any secrets to keep.

Slowly, Elijah pulls he head from her shoulder and looks at her face. She looks up at him, fighting back the tears of pure relief that are threatening to be released. Elijah then moves his mouth to her forehead and plants a gentle, lingering kiss where her bruise is before he pulls away from her.

Elijah pulls his tie from around his neck and falls to one knee in front of her. He slowly wraps his hand around the handle of the knife that is still inside of her thigh. He doesn't think that Klaus stabbed her in the right place to hit anything important and he hopes that he is right. He sighs and looks up at her with sad eyes. She knows that this is going to hurt a hell of a lot and she knows that there is no way around it. She nods to him, giving him the go ahead.

Hayley shuts her eyes and bits her bottom lip hard. Elijah closes his eyes and shakes his head. He is going to hate himself forever for this, but he has to do it. He opens his eyes and pulls the knife from her leg as quickly as he can. Hayley moans loudly, biting her lip and clenching her entire body until she breaks the skin on it. Elijah then chucks the thin twisting knife away and quickly wraps his tie around the wound to hopefully help with the bleeding.

He stands up again and puts his hand on her cheek. He turns and looks down at the floor for a knife that will cut through Hayley's cable ties easily, walking to it when he spots one. Hayley opens her eyes and follows him, limping slightly. When they reach the knife, she bends down to get it, knowing that if Elijah falls, he might not get back up. She then does the same as she saw Elijah do, turns it upside down and cuts through the cable ties before she drops the knife back on the floor. She then wraps her arms around Elijah's neck carefully and holds him close to her, nuzzling her nose into his shoulder when she feels his arms wrap around her waist.

"I love you". Hayley says against his shoulder. "I don't care if it's too soon, I don't care if you're not ready to say it. I love you".

Elijah then pulls his head from her shoulder again and lowers his lips to hers. They share an extraordinarily soft kiss, both being not wanting to cause the other pain and being extra careful of the others wounds. It tastes metallic because of all of the blood, but that doesn't matter to them.

A loud sound suddenly echos from the shutter and Elijah turns around to see the shutter lifting slowly. He looks down at the floor and sees a gun. He quickly leans down and grabs it, Hayley helping him stand back up straight. Luckily he gets stably back on his feet again as Kol and Robert come into the warehouse from under the shutter. Both of them pause in their tracks when they see Elijah and Hayley stood before them.

"What the hell?" Kol says, bottle of scotch in one hand.

Elijah doesn't wait for his cocky younger brother to say anything else, or ask any questions. He brings the gun up and pulls the trigger, sending a bullet directly into Kol's collarbone. Kol screams and falls to the floor, his bottle smashing next to him. Elijah then points the gun at Robert, who puts his hands in the air and takes a step forwards.

"I was just doing a job. Nothing personal", Robert says.

Hayley takes a step forwards.

"Did you kill my dog?" She asks.

Robert looks at her, his face emotionless. He is giving nothing away, but his silence tells Hayley everything that she wants to know. She looks away from him as she feels tears come to her eyes again. He was the one who took Jack from her. Elijah pulls the trigger again and this bullet hits Robert in his shoulder. He falls back against the wall behind him before he slips to the floor, groaning and holding his shoulder in pain. Elijah then drops the gun, not wanting to ever use one again.

Elijah puts his hand on Hayley's shoulder and she looks at him with a sad gaze.

"Come on," he says. "We're going home".

Hayley nods. Elijah holds his hand out to her and she takes it instantly, letting him lead her to the shutter. She can't help but let her eyes stray to Klaus' body on the way out. He was never the man she was meant to spend her life with and despite all of the good times and the happy memories they had together before all of the badness set in, there isn't one part of her that is sad to see him dead. That was the only way for them to escape and be free forever.

They make their way out of the shutter and Elijah sees a black Vauxhall Insignia parked not too far away. He gently tugs Hayley in that direction and she follows, ignoring the pain that shoots up her leg every time she puts her foot down. When they reach the car, she stops at the passenger side and opens the door for Elijah. He stops and looks at her, confused.

"You're half dead, you're not driving", Hayley explains.

Elijah gives her a quick, half smile and puts his hand on her cheek again. He then brings his lips to her other cheek and plants a gentle kiss there before he steps into the car. Hayley watches him get in to make sure he doesn't need any help before she shuts the door and goes around to the drivers side. She opens the door, climbs in and feels blessed when she sees the keys still in there.

Hayley starts the car, puts her seat belt on and turns to look at Elijah to see him slouching towards her with his eyes closed. She puts her hand on his shoulder and shakes him gently.

"Elijah?"

He opens his eyes and looks at her.

"Yeah?" He asks, sounding exhausted.

"Just don't die on me, okay?" Hayley says, giving him a small smile.

Elijah smiles back at her and closes his eyes again.

"I won't die on you... or our baby". Elijah says, still smiling.

Hayley's smile grows and she sighs in relief. She then looks out at the dark sky above them and starts driving in the direction that the exit sign is pointing her in. It will probably be dawn by the time they get home, but at least they will be going home.
