"Frisk, what are you doing?"
Chara floated in front of the child, her best mean face on.
"How and why did our goals switch from saving monsters to slaughtering them! You promised me that last time was it. We had saved them all! We had moved into the surface! Four years of peace, gone! And look at this!"
She gestured at the piles of dust around them, the eerie silence of the snowy woods standing out as Frisk gazed at Chara, a small smile spreading on her face.
"Chara, Chara. Just - relax, will you? It's not like this is a challenge. I'll kill everyone, and then reset! No one will know any better, and I'll have my curiosity of what happens satisfied!"
"No one will -" Chara gaped at Frisk, her shocked young mind trying to come up with a response. "I'll know! You'll know! This isn't right! How can you kill your friends? Those you've loved! I mean, what the fuck, Frisk? We had just gotten Asgore and Toriel to go on a date again! Undyne and Al-"
"And, like always, when I Reset, it will be really, really easy to do it again." Frisk retorted, yawning as she scratched her jaw. "Everyone is so predictable nowadays, it'll be easy to do again. I know all the lines, everything they will say and do, and -"
"You sound like Flowey."
Chara snapped, cutting her off.
"Yes, and as more time passes, I can see why he ended up killing everyone! I'm so bored with this happy ending crap; I want to see what happens if I-"
"Act like an absolute asshole and kill all of your friends? Are you serious? At least Flowey has the excuse of being soulless, you're just heartless!"
"Say what you please, Chara." Frisk replied calmly, lifting her hands in a shrug. "You can't stop me. You can't do anything other than watch."
"I'll fight with you, every step of the way."
"Go ahead. And you will live with the knowledge that you failed to stop me. Let's go, I want to see if I can get Papyrus to try and kill me."
Frisk's eyes snapped open, her arms covered in a cold sweat.
"Wow." She rolled over, onto her back "I really was terrible. I can't believe that I said those things."
She sat up, and stretched, the bones in her arms and legs cracking, because holy hell was she sore! She'd been doing nothing but training with Undyne since Christmas break started three days ago, on Thursday. Today was her off day, so she could try to relax…
"If Chara fuckin lets me." She swung her legs off her bed, and rose to her feet, glaring at Chara's empty bed. "I don't want to have to drag her drunk ass out of a bar, again."
Walking over to her dresser, Frisk tugged on her shirt, and pulled on her sweats, and walked over to the door - only for it to swing open, and Asriel's bright and chippy face to greet her.
"Hey, Frisk! You're awake!" Asriel chirped, waving at her.
"Uh, hello? What happened?"
"Undyne is here! She wants to talk to everyone. I was sent to come and get you!"
Frisk sighed - fuck, there goes her day off.
"Alright. I was heading down anyways, so let's go. I assume they're in the living room?"
"Yup! Come on, let's go!"
Asriel seized Frisk's hand, and began to drag her downstairs, with Frisk merely chuckling - he was so excitable!
After a few moments, they were standing in the entrance of the living room, and inside was Chara and Dawn, both lounging on the couch, and Undyne standing in the middle of the room.
"Fucking took you long enough." Chara griped, watching as Asriel and Frisk seated themselves."
"Ah, ehem." Undyne interrupted before Chara and Frisk could break into yet another argument. "So! None of that nonsense. I have something to ask you - well, more of I have something to tell you..? Offer! Something to offer, to the four of you! Heck yeah, first try!"
"Uh - so what is it?" Frisk asked. She hadn't seen Undyne this nervous in forever…
"I have, right here on me, four tickets to New York City!" Undyne proudly displayed them in front of everyone, a massive grin on her face. 'This weekend only!"
She was met with dead silence, as Frisk and Chara eyed each other, with Dawn and Asriel pointedly not looking at either of them.
"...Yeah, sure." Chara shrugged, looking away from Frisk. "Should be fun, right?"
"Exactly!" Undyne cheered, grinning. "So - get ready! We leave tomorrow!"
Undyne bounced out of the room, heading through the front door, leaving the four of them sitting around and staring at each other.
"...So, uh - I guess we should get ready?" Asriel asked, staring at the floor.
"Yeah, yeah we should." Dawn rose to her feet, and patted Chara's shoulder. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Hmph." Chara grunted, rising to her feet. "Sure. see you."
Frisk and Asriel rose to their feet, and the three walked upstairs together. Before long, Asriel split off and headed to his own room, leaving Chara and Frisk alone.
"So, uh…"
Frisk cleared her throat, searching for something to say, but Chara spoke up, in her now - common biting tone.
"Look, I'm just doing this for Undyne." Chara snapped, pulling open the door to their room. "Don't go thinking that this means we are going to talk again or some shit like that. I just think she should have support for - whatever she's going to do."
Frisk growled, shoving past Chara as she walked into their room. "Chara, why the fuck would I think you would change your idiotic behaviour because someone asked nicely? You've been an annoying twat ever since Harley left, and you've only gotten worse."
Frisk heard Chara's footsteps, and went to turn, but she was shoved face-first into the far wall before she could, Chara's voice ringing out as Frisk slumped to the floor.
"Don't you fucking touch me, you filthy waste of air." She growled, as she stepped over Frisk and headed over to her side of the room, and began to hunt for her suitcase. "I swear to god, you should carry around a potted plant to replace all of the oxygen you waste."
"Then you should grow a wheat field." Frisk grumbled, rolling over and sitting up. "To replace all of the booze."
Turning her head ever so slightly, Chara eyed Frisk, and asked. "What did you just say to me?"
"I said." Frisk repeated, raising her voice. "You're a freaking drunk!"
Chara kept eying Frisk for a few moments, and Frisk refused to look away, partially out of pride, and partially because - well, knives to the back didn't feel all that good.
"One more word, Frisk. One more fucking word, and -"
"One."
Chara stopped mid-sentence, and fully turned to face Frisk.
"...What?"
"You said one more fucking word." Frisk shrugged. "What happens now?"
Chara's eyes flared, and she took a step forwards, with Frisk summoning a shield in her left hand and eyeing Chara.
"Do it, Chara. Show how tough you are, not being able to take a human taunting you."
The two of them stood there for a few more moments, with Chara sighing.
"Frisk, one of these days you will get the shit beaten out of you - but that's not today. Not with mom here."
Chara turned away, heading back to her suitcase and continued packing, with Frisk sighing inwardly, releasing the breath she didn't realize she'd been holding.
"I'd like to see you try, you mangy cunt." Frisk turned towards her own stuff, before heading over to her stuff, beginning to pack
"Hurry the fuck up, Frisk!"
Chara shoved Frisk forwards, almost knocking her to the ground.
"You know, you say 'fuck' alot."
Frisk grumbled as she boarded the plane.
"And do you want to get us kicked off the plane? Because that's how you get us kicked off a plane."
"Shut up and move."
They shuffled forwards, following Asriel to the first-class seats they'd booked. Dawn, Alphys, Undyne and Toriel were all already there.
"Look, Chara." Frisk said as they sat, giving her a wide smile. "One of these days, karma is going to hit you right in the face. And if it doesn't? Well, I gladly will."
"You can't hit a cow's ass with a banjo." She retorted, leaning back in her seat. "Good luck. Looks like I have to wait for this 'karma' you speak of."
Frisk leaned back, and closed her eyes. Sleep will help make this miserable trip better, right?
Right.
