After the wedding Klaus and Caroline rode back to his loft in silence. While they had appeared to patch things up with physical actions no words were spoken on the matter. In all honestly Caroline wasn't looking forward to having it out with Klaus again. He was not going to back down and Caroline didn't want to be confronted with his true nature anymore. She was more then willing to live in blissful ignorance. Unfortunately Klaus had other plans for them. Unfortunately for Klaus Caroline was going to rise to the occasion.
"Come on now love, we had a little spat. I know I'm over it." Klaus addressed Caroline as he began to to undo his tie. Caroline had been a little too quiet. He could see the conflict brewing in her. He also knew that he wanted to get this matter finally settled, and if Caroline was going to be the one to start the argument the he very well was.
"Well I'd rather not discuss this any further." Caroline began to furiously take off her jewelers. "Not like you care about anything I have to say in the matter."
"Seriously Caroline I need to know that you understand the situation?" Klaus gentler rubbed her shoulders as he attempted to turn her towards him.
Caroline continued to move about the room removing her jewelry, an taking her hand down."I know that no matter what I say you don't care about my opinion. You and the rest of them are going to do whatever hell you want regardless of what I want. And lets not kid ourselves this has nothing to with me, and all about you protecting your ego."
"I'm doing this to protect you, as my wife, in case that has slipped your mind." She was infuriating, and stubborn; coming from Klaus that was saying a lot. He was known to be a little temperamental.
"I am not your wife." Caroline snapped not backing down from Klaus. "If I was you wife you wouldn't be do anything to cause me pain. Murder in my name causes me pain."
"Not my wife. Not my wife." Klaus roared as he stalked towards Caroline. "It is true you might not be my wife in name, yet, but you certainly are in practice. You live in my house, and you sleep in my bed. You are my wife in any other sense of the term. And as my wife I expect you to act as any other wife would and support me in my decisions. Am I understood Caroline?" Caroline meekly noodled her head. "Good love." Klaus gently bent down and placed a kiss on her forehead his actions and tone so far removed from his previous behavior. "Now love I have somethings to attend to papers to read, calls to make, and the such. I'll join you in bed a little later." Once Klaus had left the room Caroline finally released the breath she was holding. For the first time Caroline wandered what she had gotten herself into.
Klaus, again, regretted his temper with Caroline. This situation with Hayley was causing more and more problems. He needed to find the girl and have her dealt with sooner rather then later. It was becoming clear that the only solution to this problem would be once the girl was dealt with. Sure Caroline would be upset, but she would get over it rather then having this on going debate. He would double his efforts and preferably he would rectify this problem before his engagement to Caroline. After all he's had the ring for ages.
