still sad, and feeling betrayed, Lincoln didn't exactly know if he can call Luke his brother anymore. From the time he convinced Lincoln to push his second best friend down some stairs, almost killing her, to the point of where he killed a former nazi that killed his great grandfather that fought in World War 2, to where the Rogue Lion accidentally killed a little girl after he and the girl's father got in a shove fest, Lincoln was more conflicted than he usually was.
While still in his hazmat suit, he was looking at the ceiling and thinking things over about him and Luke. "Maybe I shouldn't call him my brother. He was probably never one to begin with." he said to himself.
At this point, his family was still sick with the flu and he didn't know what else to do now. Luke seemed like a very nice guy, and he was more than happy to take Lincoln under his wing, but now? Now he might just have to forget about him. Something came in his head, and he thought that Luke's dad, Mike, knows about Luke more than anyone, considering the fact that he raised him in his life.
"Maybe I should talk to Mike about it." Lincoln thought. Then he heard coughing from downstairs, and he remembered that he had a sick family to take care of. He didn't really want to, but he had no choice, family always come first in his life.
He got down and saw his family eating some Chinese food that Luke ordered before. "You play, honey?" asked Rita.
"Yeah. I was thinking I should talk to Luke's dad about this."
"Why- achoo!" Lynn sneezed again.
"Well, he probably knows about Luke more than I do." Lincoln flatly said. "The least I can do is get the truth out of him if Luke isn't."
"I suppose that can can work." Lisa said. " although i-" she began coughing with some phlegm in her throat. "My apologies. All the irritating mucus in my lungs, and my throat is a real pain. Anyway, I have a lie detector if you want to use that. That machine never lies."
"That's what you said about me not feeling any pain in your lotion experiment." said Lola. "AND IT HURT LIKE HELL!" unfortunately for Lola, she couldn't scream any louder, because she had phlegm in her throat, it would look embarrassing for her if someone like her coughed phlegm out of her mouth.
"Okay, but nothing is perfect. And besides, the lotion was... bit ready yet. But now it is." Lisa said. "My lie detector will smell out the the truth from any human being, like thousand canines sniffing out food or landmines."
"Well, I'll do it when you guys get better. Right now, I wanna know if you need anything else from me. Some snacks, water, soup?"
"Nah, we're okay, dude." Luna smiled before letting out a few coughs. "We'll let ya know if we need anything."
Lincoln made a small smile and said: "Okay." then he turned on the TV, showing Dream Boat. It was nice to have them all watching together as a family.
Three Days later
The family was no longer sick, and they were all healthy and back on their feet, healthy as ever. Lincoln was walking at the Inside Africa park, and he was looking for the owner of this amazing place. Finally, he found Mike bringing in the Sumatran rhino to his new habitat, and it was an intriguing sight to see, even though the majestic beast was very reluctant to set foot inside it's new home.
Apparently, this was the effort to repopulate the Sumatran Rhinoceros to it's former glory. Still, after Mike and some of his crew of zookeepers were done placing the ungulate inside, Lincoln went up to the entrance to the new enclosure and it might give these kind of animals hope for the future. There, Lincoln saw him and the man saw Lincoln back, and Mike smiled: "Lincoln, nice to see you again. How's it going?"
"Not... so good, Mike."
the head zookeeper's smile instantly turned into a frown after hearing that. "Why?"
"I wanna talk to you about Luke."
"About Luke? Sure. Where?"
"At the picnic area."
"Sure."
After walking all the way to the Picnic area, Lincoln and Mike sat in the grass, and the boy cleared his throat before beginning: "Mike, Luke told me about what happened in Germany and how he accidentally killed a little girl. Three days ago, a man named Metz Friedrich, came in my house and wanted to kill Luke for accidentally killed his daughter, and he wanted revenge."
Mike was silent for a moment, and he looked a little uncomfortable. "Well, I'm sorry that he told you and that you faced that slimeball. He told you about my grandfather in World War 2, right?"
"Uh-huh."
"Well, the Nazis tortured him for the fun of it after he was captured at the Rhineland. My dad told me about it, and he told me about how he hated Germany so much, even to this day, because of what happened to his dad. Not only that, but... his mother, my wife, she... she..."
"She what, Mike?"
"She suddenly got missing while we were Berlin one time. Luke suspected that it was the former Nazi, and when I've heard the news that he killed the man, I was... shocked, and very surprised. Not to mention that I did not condone him for that behavior."
"Were you mad at him?"
"I wasn't mad as I was disappointed, Lincoln. But I do believe him when he said he shot the girl by accident. The police gave him a lie detector when we escaped Germany, back to America, and the results were true, it was an accident."
"So... that man kidnapped Luke's mom?"
"We thought he did, but we found her living in New Orleans. She's... a former CEO of Teen magazine."
"Oh. Wow. Well, Lisa said she is going to give him a lie detector test to see if he is telling the truth."
"I see. But my son is no liar. And if they still don't believe me, then they should at least hear it from me."
