This story idea I had features features Elijah as the counter to Marcel's transition at the end of TO Season 3, Elena as a triggered werewolf who has been abandoned by her friends and Elijah being a triplet (I wanted to do something that I haven't actually seen in fan stories) as well as having an idea about Elijah being a Hybrid a long time ago but I recently revised it (I've seen The Originals series finale and as beautiful as it was, it was also heartbreaking in my opinion)
Four years old Elijah was flipping the pages with his little chubby hands. His brothers and sisters were doing things that he didn't like…especially naps. Naps are the bane of his existence. His mother was napping as well as Kol and Rebekah. His big brother Finn was hunting with their father and his twin brother Daniel and sister Elara were sleeping without doing anything-they were just sleepy from complaining about Niklaus, Kol and Rebekah.
Looking at a page, he smiled as he thought the words were to bring the flowers to bloom and he began to recite it. He stopped as his stomach began to churn in a bad way and he closed his eyes while holding in his pained whimpers. He didn't hear the door open but he felt a cool hand on his forehead. Opening his eyes he looked at Miss Ayana who was whispering something and the pain was subsiding.
He saw the way her eyes looked at the opened book and her lips purse.
"Come child and I'll take care of you for right now," she whispered softly to him and as she carried him in her arms, he whimpered.
It's been a thousand years since he turned himself into a triggered werewolf and eight hundred years since he saw his siblings. As he found himself in this century in the French countryside playing the piano, he saw a brunette who reminded him a lot of Daniel and Niklaus' love interest Tatia and then her descendant Katerina.
She looked scared and a whiff of her scent when she went passed him caused him to blink as the wolf clung to her. He was curious about her and as he walked over to her, he saw her sitting at the bar. Sitting beside her, he spoke softly.
"Hello there," she turned to look at him and she gasped softly. "Let me guess…" his eyes were playful as he got a good look at her face. "You met two people who I share a resemblance to?"
"Daniel and Elara," she whispered. "Why do you look like them?"
"The three of us are triplets," he told her softly. "I haven't seen them in eight hundred years when all of them ganged up on me…" his eyes were staring into space as he remembered exactly why they ganged up on him. "How have they been?"
"I was used in Klaus' ritual that he killed my aunt in," she grumbled. "Then your brother Daniel slept with Katherine who gave him a son while she forced me to trigger my wolf side because my dad isn't my dad," she looked away, "everyone that I held dear turned me away-even your sister Rebekah who I thought of as a friend." Just remembering what her friend did made her feel heartbroken. "Then she tells everyone that I had a crush on Daniel."
"I believe that it wasn't well received," he murmured.
"I was laughed at," she could feel the tears stinging her eyes. "I ended up burning everything that they loved-their mansion in Mystic Falls as well as all of their belongings." She gave a hollow laugh. "I was run out of town the very next day with barely any money…I used what I had to get the ticket to this place in France and here we are."
He nodded.
"Here we are," he agreed. "Now how do you feel about my family?" He was curious about her thoughts on them after she unloaded.
"I'd throw a festival or something if I hear that they died."
