Piccolo suddenly stopped a few houses away from Kate's.
"What's wrong?"
Piccolo furrowed his brows.
"There's someone at your house."
"What?! But no one is supposed to be home until next month at least..."
"It's a male."
Kate's heart suddenly dropped.
Oh God. Please no.Piccolo lowered them onto the ground.
Kate turned to face him.
"You stay here, and I'll go check who it is."
Piccolo looked at her concerned.
"It might be dangerous."
She laughed.
"If I could land a punch on the great Piccolo, I'm sure I'll be okay."
He huffed and folded his arms.
"Fine."
Kate nervously walked towards her place.
Oh shit.He was a tall muscular man with chestnut hair, and stark blue eyes. His sharp facial features made him extremely handsome. He sported a grey suit with an unbuttoned white dress shirt.
Charles sat on the hood of his car- a bouquet of flowers in his hand. He smiled upon seeing Kate.
"Darling." His smooth British accent made her hair stand up.
"What the hell do you want? Don't you have somewhere else to be?"
She rolled her eyes.
He walked up to her slowly, holding back a few tears.
"I know you're still cross with me, but I can assure you- there was never anything for you to worry about. I-"
Kate turned away from him.
"I don't need an explanation. I honestly don't give a shit." She took a deep breath. "You don't always get second chances."
He hugged her from behind.
"I've missed you so much."
She pushed him away.
"Charles, we're over. We've been over from the moment you decided that some excitement with some slut was more important than 3 whole years."
He grabbed her hand.
"I'm sorry."
She pushed him back- tears streaming down her face.
"Nothing you say or do can fix it." She sobbed. "Even if I wanted to, the damage is done. I wouldn't even know how."
He got down on both knees.
"Kate, I'm not asking- I'm begging. Please."
She slapped him across the face.
"Fuck off! Just get out of my life!"
Charles' eyes suddenly turned cold.
He grabbed her arms and began to drag her towards his car.
"I don't know what's gotten into you, Kate, but I can't stand this new attitude of yours. I heard you've been spending time with your brute sister out in the boonies, that may be it. Maybe we just need to get away for a bit, go on a vacation."
He swung the door open.
"No!"
She squirmed.
"I tried talking to you but you refuse to listen."
He continued to try and push her in the car.
"Just let me go!"
"You heard her."
Charles looked towards the driveway surprised.
Piccolo appeared with his arms to his side, and his fists clenched.
"Piccolo..."
Charles looked back at Kate.
"Who, and what the hell is he?" He let go of Kate.
Piccolo scoffed.
"We can do this the easy way, or the fun way."
Charles laughed.
"My good sir, I don't think you know who you're dealing with."
The Namekian warrior smirked, sensing his much lower power level.
"I was going to say the same thing to you."
Kate broke away from Charles and hid behind Piccolo- still crying.
"You okay?"
She nodded.
Charles sneered.
"So this is who you've replaced me with? I must say- I feel a bit insulted." He laughed. "Let's hope you fight better than you look."
Charles was suddenly met by a punch to the gut. Piccolo then lifted him by the head.
"You'd better leave now while I still have the patience." He threw him onto the ground.
Charles got up slowly- using his car for support. He wiped the blood from off his mouth.
"Is this what you want, Kate? Him?"
Kate simply turned away.
Charles opened his car door- teary eyed.
"You had better look after her."
Piccolo looked down at the man.
"I'm not like you."
Charles looked at Kate once more before pulling out of the driveway.
Kate shakily tried to get her keys from out of her purse.
"I feel really sick."
Piccolo removed the sunglasses, and examined Kate's face carefully. Her usual glow was gone.
He gently picked her up, as she wrapped her arms around herself for warmth.
"I'm taking you to Dende."
