Sorry for the delay in posting. I was on holiday and then caught a nasty cold. Still recovering, but felt well enough to post a chapter. Thanks for continuing to read. ~Avy73

Danny walked into the office that morning and could tell by the look on Steve's face he was worked up about something. He could see the stress wrinkles all the way across the room and the constant pacing in his office was also a sign. As Steve was on the phone, Danny didn't dare interrupt him.

Kono walked out of the break room with a cup of coffee and nodded at Danny. Knowing Kono now had coffee in her hand and was safe to talk to, he took the opportunity to inquire, "How long has Super SEAL been on the phone with aneurysm face?"

"At least for the fifteen minutes I've been here." She shared, taking a sip of coffee and staring at their agitated boss.

"Any idea what's going on?"

"No."

Their conversation was interrupted by Chin rushing out of his office. There was panic written across his face and this rattled voice explained why, "Guys, WoFat escaped."

"That's funny, I thought you said WoFat escaped. And seeing as how he is in a SuperMAX prison, that's impossible." Shared Danny.

"Another myth bites the dust." Responded Chin, as he walked over to the smart table and pulled up various security feeds of the SuperMAX prison that had housed WoFat.

"Well, that would explain aneurysm face." Shared Kono, as she nodded towards Steve's office.

"How did he manage to escape the inescapable?" questioned Danny, as Chin continued to type on the table.

"Apparently he had been taking nitroglycerin for a heart condition that we didn't know about. It appears he had been stashing the pills and mixed it with fertilizer he picked up in the prison yard and built a homemade bomb."

"Someone on the inside had to be helping him. That explains blowing open his cell but escaping from a high security prison doesn't make sense."

Their conversation was interrupted by Steve, who had quietly left his office and observed his people working through the information he already knew, "He paid off his guard, there were three transactions of $100,000 found in the bank account of his guard. Needless to say, he is already in federal custody."

"Have they found any sign of WoFat?" Kono asked Steve.

"He stole a car outside Denver, but other than that, nothing else. I just got off the phone with the FBI and there is a manhunt underway for him."

"How are you and Azucena doing?" she pressed, knowing they both had been through hell because of this man.

"It was a rough night. We got the phone call around one in the morning." Steve shared, but couldn't bring himself to say anything further. He was trying to stay focused on the case and not think about his sister flying to an unknown location and starting over with no one.

"Do you or 'Cena need anything?" Chin asked, they all loved Steve's kid sister and wanted to help them in any way they could.

"We just need to find him and put him back behind bars." Steve said, hoping that would happen sooner, rather than later. But Danny could read there was more the situation. Steve, his stoic best friend, was hiding something and that didn't sit well with Danny.

Steve changed the subject from WoFat, "That was the Governor, he needs Five-0 to help SWAT guard a shipment of money preparing to be flown off the island, so gear up."

Azucena hadn't realized she fell asleep looking out the window of the jet, but she woke to a crick in her neck and a bottle of water sitting on the table in front of her. She blinked her eyes a few times, working what felt like grains of sand out of her sleepy eyes. She knew it was from all the tears earlier and honestly, she assumed her eyes were puffy and red.

She took a long drink of the water, unbuckled her seat belt, and went in search of the restroom. As she stood up, she could see two US Marshalls seated on the jet, Marshall MacNamera and the other one was unknown to her.

She found the bathroom and confirmed that her face was puffy. She looked like she had gone five rounds in a boxing match, only there was no bruising. She went about her business and gave her face one last look before saying to herself, "Screw it, I'll never see these people again."

As she walked back to the seat she had occupied, she was greeted by Marshall MacNamera, "We should be landing in two hours. I didn't know if you were hungry, but we have some food, if you are interested."

"Thank you Marshall, but I'm not hungry at the moment." She answered, trying to be kind in her response. Food was the last thing on her mind and her stomach was still queasy from all the chaos of the morning. She hadn't been gone a few hours and the thought of not seeing her family and friends was still weighing on her. That, and WoFat was on the loose. That could make anyone lose their appetite.

"Well, if you change your mind, please let me know." He smiled and returned to his seat.

She settled back into her seat, dug through her backpack, and found the book she had been reading. Tommy was smart enough to throw it into her bag for her, because honestly, it was the furthest thing on her mind, and it would at least distract her on this flight to wherever.

As Steve navigated traffic to the Treasury building, Danny scrutinized his partner from the passenger seat. When he couldn't take the silence anymore, Danny broke down, "What aren't you telling us?"

"What are you talking about Danny?" asked Steve, trying to skirt the issue.

"You got the call this morning and you've been up since then. I can tell because of the wrinkles on your face. I know you aren't handling this as well as you are projecting, and I can only guess 'Cena is struggling as well. Talk to me."

This is exactly what Steve had been avoiding. He didn't want to talk about it because it was too personal, but he wasn't surprised Danny picked up on it. Danny noticed everything, and that is what made him a good detective.

He wasn't ready to talk about it because he hadn't fortified his emotions on everything. He hadn't been able to build up a wall around all the feelings of loss and sadness. He needed more time to numb himself to everything and compartmentalize it, but Danny wasn't going to allow that. Danny was going to pester him until he shared every detail.

He looked out the driver's side window, avoiding all eye contact with Danny, "The US Marshalls called us this morning and told us he escaped. They put Doris and Azucena on a plane, and they are now members of Witness Protection."

"Witness Protection? So, you are saying you don't know where Doris and 'Cena are?"

"As of three o'clock this morning, I have no idea where they are or their new identities. But 'Cena did tell me to let you and Gracie know that she loves you guys and is thankful for everything you have done for her. And she wanted Gracie to know that she is going to be an amazing ballerina." Steve said, choking back emotion as he relayed the message his sister had shared this morning.

Danny closed his eyes and rubbed his temples; this couldn't be real. Now he understood why Steve was holding back information. He wasn't ready to share with everyone that he had lost a few of the remaining family members he had. "God man, I'm so sorry. I didn't even think they would pull them into the Program."

"They offered me the opportunity to join as well, but I have to find WoFat. I have to find him and finish him Danny." Steve said with steel resolve in his voice.

Danny understood, "I'll help in any way I can."

"I just found her Danny and now I can't imagine life without her in it." He confessed, sadness in his voice. Danny knew he was talking about Azucena.

"We are going to find him and then we are going to bring your sister and Doris home." Danny offered, and then thought about Tommy. "How'd Tommy take everything?"

"He put on a good front, but he's just as gutted as the rest of us. Catherine drove him to the base this morning when I drove 'Cena to the airfield. She said he was quiet and hopeful this would get resolved quickly."

"Man, your sister can't catch a break, can she."

"Danny, I'm afraid this is going to break her." Steve confessed; he hadn't even shared this with Catherine yet. "I know she's strong and brave, but she's been through so much already. And now she doesn't have anyone, and she knows WoFat is out there looking for her."

Danny took in Steve's concerns and they were completely valid, but he had to be there for his friend. He had to reassure his best friend that his sister was going to be perfectly fine. "Jack and Clara instilled a strong sense of self in Azucena. They taught her to be self-sufficient and she was perfectly fine taking care of herself in Kansas before WoFat came into the picture.

"We both know she is going to be looking over her shoulder, but the Marshalls are going to keep her safe. No one will know where she is and she will have resources, if she needs them. Don't doubt her strength, her last name might be Santiago, but she's a McGarrett and McGarrett women are stubborn and strong."

Steve appreciated Danny's words of comfort. He knew his sister was a brave young woman, but he worried. He assumed this is how Danny felt about Grace. This is what it must feel like to be a parent. As much as Azucena was his kid sister, he felt incredibly protective of her.

Azucena looked out the window, as the jet landed in a private airfield. It wasn't a commercial airport, but a small, stretch of land in what looked like the desert. Marshall MacNamera was at her seat the minute the plane came to a complete stop. She was unbuckling her seatbelt when his voice startled her, "Miss Santiago, we are going to be handing you over to another set of US Marshalls. They will drive you to the next location."

Azucena wasn't certain what to make of this, "You aren't coming with me?"

"Unfortunately no, we only work one leg of a witness' trip because a Marshall can't know your starting point and final destination. It makes it safer for you."

She nodded her head in understanding. She stood up and grabbed her backpack, while the other Marshall, pulled her suitcase from the coat closet on board. She hadn't even realized it had been stowed away earlier she had been so overwhelmed.

She followed Marshall MacNamera down the stairs of the jet and towards the black SUV. Of the two waiting agents, one opened the door of the SUV for her, and the other Marshall loaded her suitcase in the back of the SUV.

Marshall MacNamera waved to her and the door to the vehicle closed. She thought to herself this was the stuff out of movies. Traveling via private jet and black SUVs, this wasn't real. But it was, this was her life now. Now, she was transported across the country by people that would never know where she came from or where she was going. All they knew was she was running from someone. Someone that would kill her if he found her. This was her life now.
