Hi all,
How are you doing?
Well, it took a little while longer to publish this chapter than normal because it's so big! I got a headache just by writing it. So it might be cringy with the description by some parts, mainly because I am trying to avoid repetition, which wasn't easy. If you manage to spot any errors I missed, please let me know.
Anyways, let's get the story and disaster of a chapter.
'N-no! This can't be!'
Giovanni paled like he had seen a ghost as he ripped his hand away from Lysandre. The man stumbled backwards and shaking his head, not believing what he was seeing. He swore he saw the Battle Pyramid fall into the ocean, he knew that Lysandre shouldn't be breathing! Let alone standing in front of him alive.
"How are you alive?!" he demanded, almost frantic and pointing to Lysandre, "I watched Project Nucleus destroy you!"
The orange-haired man's glare became colder towards him, "A close friend helped me." Giovanni shook his head taking several more steps back before sneering at the grunts, "Don't just stand there!" he yelled, "Grab him!"
Snapping out of their stupor, the two grunts let go of Ash and lunged themselves at Lysandre. The orange-haired man quickly whirled around on his heels to face the duo and shouted, "Now!"
A blue glow surrounded the grunts and they were suddenly lifted off the ground, helplessly suspended in mid-air. A familiar figure floated down taking a protective battle stance before Ash and glaring at Giovanni. The raven-haired trainer behind him smiled in relief recognizing who it was, "Mewtwo!"
The Pokemon ignored the boy, just keeping his gaze on Giovanni, the man trembling as he kept staring between Lysandre and Mewtwo. Taking several more steps back, his back came in contact with the wall leaving him trapped, "No! This is impossible!"
Lysandre took a calm step forward but still tense. He wasn't stupid enough to let his guard his down. Even with Mewtwo behind him, he knew he needed to still be careful around the dark-haired man. He didn't know what Giovanni would do now that he was cornered, "It is," he slowly began, "And this is the end of your plans for world domination are over! Give it up Giovanni!"
Giovanni's gaze became dark and his expression hidden, his fear for them seeming to have vanished in an instant, "Over?" A shadowy smirk twisted on his lips as he raised his head, looking past the duo, "This is far from over. It's just starting and I am honestly disappointed in both of you. You should know I never give up and turning your backs was a grave mistake."
Mewtwo and Lysandre's eyes widened, realization hitting them like a brick wall. They whirled around to get to the raven-haired boy behind them but it was too late. Ash was gone.
Giovanni's cackling laughter brought their attention back to the madman, who was grinning like the maniac he was, "Sorry for leaving so shorty but I have business to attend to."
"No!" Lysandre lept forward in an attempt to stop the dark-haired man from leaving. But alas, it was too late. Giovanni vanished in a bright flash. Lysandre skidded to a stop just before the wall, shaking his head. No! No! No! This can't be happening! Not when he was so close!
"Mewtwo can you find them again?" asked Lysandre, facing the Psychic Type, but his stomach already started twisting in agony seeing the guilt in the Pokemon's eyes, "I am sorry. I can't. Something is blocking my powers from sensing their presences. I lost them the minute they teleported away."
So it was hopeless. Thinking of it, the orange-haired man clenched his fists before screaming out in frustration and punching the wall where Giovanni once stood. A noticeable dent was now visible in the metal.
Lysandre couldn't believe it. He was so close! So close! Ash was just behind him and then poof! He was gone just like that. He had underestimated Giovanni again and it cost him. It made feel him so useless.
A paw came on the man's shoulder, squeezing it in a comforting manner. Mewtwo gave the man a sad knowing smile, "It wasn't your fault. Giovanni had fooled both of us. The good news is that he is probably still in here somewhere. All we do is find him."
Lysandre sighed heavily, he wished he could believe that it wasn't his fault but he couldn't. No matter how hard he tried. If he didn't turn his back, they would have probably still have Ash. However, he knew Mewtwo was probably right about Giovanni still being in the building. Meaning, they still had the chance to get the boy back and stop Giovanni.
Taking a step back and taking a deep breath, Lysandre calmed and recomposed himself. Adjusting his leather jacket, he began wondering where Giovanni could have gone this time. The first time was easy since Mewtwo could find them but now whatever teleported him and Ash away covered their tracks, "Alright, where do you think we should start looking again?"
Mewtwo was about to reply when he cut was off.
"Ha! You will never find the boss! Right partner?" a voice called above the duo. The Pokemon and human blinked at each other before looking up, to see the two grunts from earlier still dangling in the air.
The one grunt tensed and glared at the other, "Now look at what opening your big mouth did! If I wasn't paralyzed I would have hit by now you idiot!" The other scowled, "Oi! You are calling an idiot?!"
"The one who doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut!"
"Watch it! Or I will throw you a fast one!"
"I would like to see you try!"
"Mewtwo, drop em'," Lysandre said, crossing his arms and glaring upwards at the bickering two grunts. The Pokemon's eyes glowed and raised his paw, "With pleasure."
The blue glow around the duo disappeared and gravity quickly took hold. They both yelped in surprise when they fell to the floor, sending dust in the air. Once it cleared, it revealed the duo to be in a groaning heap, both looking very dazed from the fall.
The one grunt began rubbing his head and squirming under his barely conscious partner's body, "Aww man, that wasn't nice."
Two dark shadows suddenly fell upon the duo. The grunt gulped nervously and slowly moved his head upwards to see Mewtwo and Lysandre, the human and Pokemon looming over him and his partner.
The grunt dropped his shoulders, "This is gonna hurt, isn't it?"
"What happened?!" demanded Giovanni dragging a struggling Ash along with him as he stomped into the laboratory with Agent Phantom trailing not far behind, "I was almost captured and this whole base seems to have gone mad! Who is the cause of this!?"
A few scientists and grunts flinched at the tone. One of them hesitantly stepped forward, "S-sir, we have come under attack! It's madness! The whole base is surrounded by Legendaries and either most of us have been killed or injured! We can't hold them back!"
The dark-haired man cursed under his breath, this wasn't good. This was big trouble for him and he wasn't having it. Not at all, "Don't give me your pathetic excuses! Get Archie, Maxie, Cyrus, Ghetsis, and Guzma down here now! Also, send more grunts to the weakest areas, we need to hold the Legenadaries off until I give the signal."
The grunt's eyes widened, "B-but sir! How could we possibly face Legenadaries?! It will almost be impo-" he was cut off by Giovanni's glare, "If you don't do as I say I will waste you right here and now. Am I understood?"
The grunt nodded, sweating nervously and stepped back, "Yes sir." With that, he disappeared in a fast blur through the door. Giovanni snorted and smirked, coward. However, he frowned as he faced his top scientist, Doctor Reagan, the red-haired man watching him cautiously, "What about Project Nucleus? Can we use it to defend the base?"
Doctor Reagan nodded his head, "Yes but it's first needs to reco-" he was also cut off by Giovanni, "No buts. I want it to get rid of those Legendaries, the escaped prisoners and Lysandre."
"But Giovanni if we utilize it now it's systems will overload and destroy itself!" protested the man, "It needs time to recharge! Else it could blow up all of Alola!"
"Then it blows up Alola! I don't care! Just do as I say!" snapped Giovanni, starting to lose his temper with everyone starting to question his orders, "I have the rest of the world, one region gone won't make a difference in my empire!"
Doctor Reagan stood there speechless, not sure what to do. He was willing to help Giovanni conquer the world but to basically put a whole region at risk of blowing up? He couldn't do that. Not with so many lives on the line.
Scowling in disgust, the red-haired man shook his head and tore off his Team Rainbow Rocket badge, crunching it in his hand, "Sorry, but I can't allow that and I won't." He threw the badge to the floor, glaring at his bos- no former boss.
Giovanni's gaze darkened as he snarled, that was the final straw, "Fine, have it your way." The next few seconds happened so fast, no one knew to react when a loud bang rang through the air, and Doctor Reagan's body fell to the floor, lifeless.
Everyone whipped around to see Agent Phantom holding a smoking gun in his metallic hand before he slowly lowered it. Staring silently at its latest unlucky victim that had dared to defy its master.
Said dark-haired man grinning as he faced the remaining scientists and grunts in the room, "Anyone else who wants to go against me?" No one questioned nor answered him.
"Good," said Giovanni, nodding in approval at the silence he received, "Now clean up this mess and get rid of the body. Prepare to launch Project Nucleus again in the next few minutes. I want this Legendary problem sorted out in the next hour."
"You killed him," spoke a soft, shaken voice next to him. The man gaze snapped downwards to see Ash staring horrified as he watched the blood trickle out from Doctor Reagan's head, the kid looking as if he was going to throw up from the sight a few feet in front of him.
Giovanni rolled his eyes at the child's reaction at seeing a little blood, pathetic. Tightening his grip on Ash's arm, he dragged the boy forward and began walking.
Ash finally snapped out of his mortified state and his instincts took hold, he began fighting Giovanni, kicking and squirming while trying to summon his aura again but like before, it was useless. "Let me go!" the trainer screamed trying to free himself away from this monster!
Giovanni ignored his protests, his grip only becoming tighter, he wasn't letting Ash go anytime soon. He didn't care if the Legendaries were just outside or if the world was going to end. Giovanni knew Ash was powerful, especially his aura, and he was going to keep that power to himself. No matter the cost.
"I said let me go!" Within a second, Ash bit down as hard as he could on Giovanni's arm, his teeth sinking into the man's skin. The dark-haired man yelped in pain and released the trainer, stumbling back and clutching his bitten arm.
As soon he touched solid ground, Ash sprunted off, dodging the many grunts and scientists that tried to grab him. Thanks to his small, size compared to the adults, he managed to duck, dive and slide past most of them.
Looking around desperately for the door, he could briefly hear Giovanni yelling in rage and screaming orders from behind. Ignoring it, Ash grinned as found the door, which was wide open, and ran for it as fast as his feet could carry him. It truly seemed like running to the light at the end of the tunnel moment as he gave a final push forward, leaping in the air.
But he didn't get far when he was suddenly yanked back by his collar and thrown backwards to the ground. Ash's back arched upwards as it collided with the metal floor and he had to bite his tongue to stop himself from whimpering. He tried to sit up but a heavy foot came on his chest forced him back down.
Looking up, Ash saw Agent Phantom hovering above him and putting more pressure on him, the coldness in its one golden eye steeled up and its red mechanical eye narrowed to a thin slit. Ash tried to squirm away but Agent Phantom pressed harder downwards, not allowing the child to escape.
"At least we have someone who is competent," Giovanni's familiar voice drawled. Ash craned his neck backwards, feeling the slight tremors from his so-called father's footsteps approaching, to meet the dark-haired man's annoyed expression.
Giovanni bent down to Ash's level, his expression neutral but anger still displayed in his eyes, "You lucky I am not snapping one of your legs for what you just did, Ash." The man stood back up, glaring down at the defiant boy, "But I will decide what your punishment will be later."
Ash watched as Giovanni raised his boot before the man brought it and his world went black.
Greninja stumbled, de-evolving and fell down on its bottom, panting from exhaustion while it's red pupils were contracted, disoriented. The Pokemon couldn't tell what was happening around him. It was all a blur, the panicked muffled voices behind him and dizziness weren't helping. He didn't know what was happening or what caused him to feel like this so suddenly.
Something in him clicked as he realized what happened, Ash. It was Ash! He needed to get to Ash! He knew something was wrong! His trainer was in danger! Adrenaline gave him new strength as he shot up, his legs wobbling like jelly, threatening to give way.
"Greninja watch out!" The Pokemon snapped his gaze up and they widened, heading his way was a large Flamethrower from a Houndoom, the grunt commanding it smirking smugly. Greninja didn't have time to defend himself, just putting his arms in front of him preparing for the pain.
But it never came.
Braixen didn't know what to do when she watched Greninja suddenly stumbled back and de-evolve. She cried out to the water and dark type, but it was like he wasn't even listening. He seemed paralyzed and exhausted, sweat pouring down his forehead. The fire type was about to rush to his side when he stood up and seemed too panicked about something.
She was about to ask what happened when a voice shouted, "Houndoom Flamethrower!" The Fox Pokemon only had a fraction of a second to react as she watched the stream of fire charge towards Greninja.
Her body seemed to move on its own as she dashed forward in front of the venerable Ninja Pokemon. Using her paws, Braixen blocked the flames as they hit her. The attack immediately began pushing her back onto her one knee. In the background, she could her trainer shouting to her but the roaring flames blocked most of it out.
The Pokemon felt strong something swell in her when the flames becoming stronger, threatening to engulf her whole. She gritted her teeth and pushed back. She knew she couldn't give up, that is what she and Serena learned, from both Ash and Greninja. To never give up, no matter what. From when she first met Serena, they started their journey together. They went through everything together, whether it's was getting over her neediness for being clean or helping get along with Pancham, she did always with her trainer because they learnt to never give up.
And she wasn't going to start giving up now.
A strong burning fire seemed to ignite within her as she howled, feeling new strength suddenly flowing her veins. The new burst energy consumed her as she easily spilt the flames apart, the Flamethrower dispersing around her.
It didn't stop there as she took her stick and began spinning in her hand in a ring of fire before blowing a stream of fire through the flaming hoop at the Houndoom, the grunt's Pokemon eyes wide.
An explosion occurred as the attack hit the Houndoom with full force, a yowl of pain splitting through the air. Once the smoke cleared, the Houndoom revealed to be unconscious. The grunt stared at the Pokémon in front of him, slack-jawed and stunned. Taking a step back, he quickly returned his Pokémon and ran away, not daring to look back.
Braixen snorted flames out of her nostrils before turning around with a smile. However, she blinked in confusion. Something was odd. Everyone was gaping at her and they seemed... smaller than before. Even Greninja, the usually the cool-headed Pokemon, was looking at her with his jaw dropped and blushing for some reason.
Serena was the first to speak, breaking the silence and buttering out, "Braxien, you evolved."
Delphox blinked and looked down at her newly evolved body before looking up again, huh she didn't expect that.
"Prepare for Judgment!" yelled Arceus as she charged up the attack and launched it in the air, where it split up and showered upon the many grunts and their Pokémon outside of The Aether Paradise. Her and the other Legendaries were meant to serve as a distraction while Mewtwo and Lysandre went to retrieve Ash, which she didn't mind.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Yveltal fire a Oblivion Wing at the grunts running away, turning them to lifeless stone statues. A little overboard in her opinion but she knew Yveltal loved causing destruction when he got the chance, each to their own she guessed.
Raquaza, in mega-form, shot past the Alpha Pokemon with a powerful Hyperbeam gathering in his mouth. He quickly released the attack, demolishing anything that was in its path.
"Don't just stand there! Attack!" snapped Lugia next to her, already throwing a Shadow Ball at more grunts that were pouring out of the building. Arceus was about to reprimand the Pokemon when suddenly a terrifying screech shattered through the air. It wasn't like anything she heard before, it sounded so unnatural and frightening.
The ground beneath their feet began trembling and any wild Pokémon in the area started running away and she knew, something was coming. Something very bad. Raising her head, Arceus' eyes widened.
On the roof of the Aether Foundation, sat a twisted creature she had never seen before its blood-red eyes pinning her under its dark gaze. Its body was pitch black, while multiple jagged teeth stuck out from its canine-like snout, feathered wings could be seen tucked in close to its wolf-like body, large pointed white spikes rang along its back while its claws on its paws were so big that they curled, flexing out like deadly daggers. Standing on its haunches, it's back arched as it snarled down at her its body beginning to glow red.
It screeched again, one she understood this time. One she knew all too well. It was challenging her.
For the reign of Alpha.
"Your majesty your not thinki-" Before Lunala could protest against it the creature leaped off the building, charging forward with its wings spread out and in the blink of an eye, Arceus was sent tumbling in the dirt and crashing through the forest.
Before she could even get her baring, she was lifted up by her tail and tossed in the air like a ragdoll. Above her, the creature was now glowing yellow with its paws crackling with electricity and a powerful bolt of lightning hit her with such force, she screamed. She never experienced such pain like this before, not even when she was betrayed when all those Pokemon attacked her did the electricity hurt so much.
The creature quickly became a silvery color as it swung its whole body over, its tail hitting her in the back and sent her crashing to the ground. Dust, rock, and trees flew up in the air where she had landed, churning everything up that was nearby.
Where Arceus crashed, a massive crater stood now and at the center, the Alpha Pokemon was barely standing her whole body trembling, burnt and scathed from the brief attacks. The creature stood near the top of the crater, staring her down before its body began changing color to a bright orange intent of giving her the final blow.
However, before the creature could finish her off a sudden Dragon Pulse crashed into it and it was sent skidding back. A loud angry bellow shook the air, "DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH MY SISTER!"
Giratina stood protectively before Arceus, snarling at the creature. The Alpha Pokemon was surprised, she expected the Renegade Pokemon the last one to help her. She was about to tell the dragon to get out of here when within the smoke, the creature stood up and rolled its shoulders, easily shaking off the attack.
The screeched again and charged at Giratina, it's body glowing purple now with its claws pulsating in bright green color. But it was sent back again by a Moon Blast, but managed to stop itself from hitting the wall of the crater by opening its wings.
Looking up, the creature saw Xerneas standing at the edge of the crater, glaring at it, "You dare to attack Arceus?" Behind her, the other Legendaries began lining up and charging up their attacks, "Now prepare to face all of us!"
The creature didn't seem phased by this threat, it's body instead began changing to multiple colors at once and stood up its full height, giving a massive screech. It was willing to take on anything that was in its way and show no mercy.
Giving a final screech, it flew forward as the army of Pokemon with its paw raised.
The war for the world had just truly begun.
And that is a wrap!
Phew, as I said: disaster. Now, hopefully the next chapter won't be so straining to write, lol. Anyways, please do enjoy reading and review afterwards, they are always appreciated.
Petrolhead1 drifting away.
