Part 12

-Land of Waves-

Haku halted her bombardment of senbon and ruthless slashing. Stopping in one of her many mirrors and looked at the blood soaked blonde standing on shaking legs with senbon pierced all over her frame. Watching Naruko drop her kunai in the water to sink she smirked, now she had nothing to defend herself with.

She dropped her smirk when Naruko blew some hairs out from in front of her face and glared viciously at a mirror reflecting Haku. Watching her mouth move, but not say anything Haku herself frowned. How could this girl continue fighting? She was standing on dead legs.

"Give me back Haru," Naruko whispered, with a faint red glimmer in her intense eyes. Seeing Haku raise her weapon that was now attached to her body via the ice, Naruko lowered her glare to the water and peered in her reflection just like three days ago but instead of the moon shining brightly behind her reflection, the sun was setting lighting the sky a vibrant red orangish.

"Why?" Naruko muttered, staring at her reflection in rage. Why was she giving up! Letting her rage take over, Naruko snapped her head up towards Haku and shouted, "Give me back my Haru." As red chakra emerged around her, cracking each of the mirrors and shooting a pulse of chakra over the surrounding area.

Haku looked in dread at the red slitted eyes of Naruko, and subconsciously took a step backward in fright at the two red chakra constructs flailing behind the girl almost like tails. letting another flask of Blue Shader fall from her sleeve into her hand, she gulped the medicine and let her bloodline do its work. She needed to kill this demon to protect Haru.

Jumping out of the mirror faster than even earlier, Haku aimed her now jagged and ice radiating sword to where Naruko's heart was. It terrified her when the blonde red-eyed girl's chakra tail grabbed her arm, restraining her and interrupting her strongest and fastest attack effortlessly.

Lowering her eyes in defeat after she glanced into Naruko's murderous glare and victorious smirk and allowed the other tail to pierce her leg and slam her down repeatedly onto the water.

Closing her blue rimmed eyes as her head struck the surface of the water for the fifth time, she thought of her imminent death and wishing she perished with her family all those years ago.

-Nine Years Ago (Mist Village)-

A six-year-old Haku gazed at the prescription medicine her academy sensei gave to her and the other bloodline using students in childlike interest. Running to her family's compound located somewhat at the edge of the village's walls, she looked at the vacant homes of her dead clan mates longingly.

She never knew what happened to the other Yuki's who used to present in the village before she was born based on what her father informed her. Whenever she would ask she would be told not to ask why but instead be grateful. Grateful for what?

Shrugging away her concerns, she raced towards a house that had two young kids playing outside it with a woman smiling down at the two before waving at her. Smiling at her mother and tucking the small glass inside her pocket, she ran to her little brothers with a giant grin on her face only to get hit with two snowballs.

Stopping her run she stood still with an empty face and inwardly laughed watching her brothers run away in fear witnessing her as they dubbed, ice face. Chasing after them with her grin back on her face she formed a hand seal and produced a handful of snowballs that hovered behind her and then followed her in hunting down her brothers.

Haku had been special, she knew this because of always being told so by her parents and sensei's, and she believed it seeing as how she was the first Yuki to be able to create and manipulate their bloodline to the degree she could, and she was only six.

But she hated always having to study this textbook or that book, she just wished to play outside with her brothers or with some of her fellow students. If she wasn't studying, she was training with her father in the Shinobi arts. She secretly hated the idea of being used to kill other ninjas for her village and instead wanted to be a medical ninja.

She knew, however, that her parents did not expect that from her or would even allow that due to never covering medical ninjutsu or the topic itself. Closing her book on chakra natures she turned off her lamp and jumped down in her bed that was next to her brothers shared bed.

Smiling at the two twins happily, she was glad that they didn't have her special abilities. They could grow up and be whatever they wanted to be, it was something she wished she had. Feeling something in her pocket push against her leg, she dug out her medicine she meant to give to her parents.

Shrugging, Haku looked at the bright blue liquid inside the vial. Opening it she was bombarded with a scent that she found to be the best smell she's ever smelt. Not thinking much of it Haku brought the glass to her mouth and sipped it and then finished it after receiving a sweet pleasure over take her small body.

That pleasure soon turned into pain however as she let out a scream that awoke everyone in the house. Feeling her body want to explode with ice, Haku cried in agony as her two four-year-old brothers lunged to her with worry on their faces.

"Get away!" She yelled as a spike of ice shoot out of the ground impaling one of her shocked brothers and then felt apart of herself break at witnessing his lifeless eyes stare at her with blood dripping down on his twin.

"Run, please," she begged, seeing him stand still with pee dripping down his leg before he too was impaled by her raging bloodline that she couldn't control no matter how hard she tried. She felt her mind tear and heart crumble seeing her parents open the door with a sad and horrified looks.

She lost all feeling of her body when they too were impaled by ice, one looking past her half frozen self at the deceased children above her and the other looking at her in anger before they too quieted down, dead.

Closing her eyes, she reopened them to see herself lying down on a frozen sheet of ice with her family lying down next to her. Bursting in tears at the dream she must've just had, she tried to worm herself over to their unmoving bodies only to be held down by a woman she couldn't recognize.

"Let me go. I want my Okaa-chan!" Haku yelled, summoning an ice spike to appear in the air and run through the woman holding her down. Not looking at the woman fall down on her back, she got up and ran to her family. Ignoring the giant gaping holes in each of her family members, she hugged her not breathing mother and sobbed on top of her.

She turned around when a hand grabbed her small wrist and locked a cuff around it. Glaring at the pink eyed scientist jacket wearing man, with tears running down her face she tried to call upon her bloodline to get rid of the empty faced man.

"They're dead Haku-chan. You murdered them see," he said, forcing the younger girl to look at the house that had blood filled ice spikes shooting all throughout the house. He then dragged her to look at the course of the woman she had just killed.

"You killed her too. She was a dutiful assistant to me," he spoke without a care. Grabbing her chin, he forced her dead, and blank eyes to focus on his deep pink empty eyes.

"I won't ever give you that much again, Haku-chan, I promise. They died helping further my research and your growth, so they've helped us Haku-chan. Your life, their lives belong to us, your purpose is to live and die for us. And they've completed their purpose, now it's your turn little Yuki. Become the tool we need you to become," he said tenderly while stroking the little girl's hair.

"Who's us?" Haku managed to get out.

"Well my name is Yagura and us would be our beautiful village sweetie," he said, picking her up and walking away from the bodies as masked ninja flashed down below and picked up the remains and darted away just as quickly.

-Present (Land of Waves)-

Hearing the familiar chirping sound she opened her eyes and turned to see Kakashi run towards her downed master with the monkey on his back going through hand signs spitting a sticky mucus on Zabuza ensuring escape was impossible. Turning back to Naruko and seeing her falter some. Why, she didn't know? But she took advantage of it by molding the water beneath her to cover her and freeze. "Water Style: Water Prison Jutsu."

Slamming her bladed hand down on the chakra tail she was happy when it receded back to Naruko slamming against the ice prison Naruko was trapped in cracking it only for the sphere to freeze back over. Creating a pillar of ice, she propelled herself to where Zabuza, Kakashi and the monkey were wanting to take the blow for him. Her only regret would be not being able to be with Haru some more.

She and Zabuza were surprised when Nabo, jumped in the way instead getting the lightning-charged jutsu plunged straight through his chest with a weak smile shoot at Zabuza before falling on Kakashi, dead.

"What the hell, Kakashi!" Rin's yell echoed across the bridge before Zabuza's laughter rang in everyone's ears.Rin ran forward dropping Gato on the ground and grabbed Nabo from Kakashi.

Glancing back in worry at where she left Naruko, she saw the Yellow Flash holding the beaten and bloodied body of his daughter tightly in his arms with a glare directed right at her. Taking some steps back in fright, she fell to her knees and threw up, shooting the blue vomit down in the water below.

His killer intent was directed right at her, and it was more than even that red chakra state the younger Namikaze was in. He truly was deserving of the title as strongest man in the world. Seeing him vanish in a flash like his moniker in his name implies, she soon found herself strung up in the air by her wrist from the man shocking everyone present. Much like when she first met Dr. Yagura-sama.

Feeling herself be pulled a long distance she was thrown against a wall with bars surrounding it. Not being able to feel her chakra, she stared in absolute fear of the look the Hokage was giving her. She thought she wanted to die, but her body told her to cower in fear and beg for survival. Lowering her head to show she was defeated she was glad when he teleported away.

Looking through the bars she saw leaf ninja standing guard, each wearing long black trench coats. She was relieved that none were looking her way as she crawled to the corner of the room, and brought her legs to her chest sobbing silently.

She just wanted a special person again, and she knew undoubtedly it was Haru.

She perked up in fright, feeling Minato appear with her Sensei being flunged to the wall much harder than he'd thrown her. He glared at the bleeding mess that was now Zabuza and then let out a long, deep sigh after looking at her. She might've beaten his little spitfire up good, but she too was just a child. He realized seeing her lower her head again shaking in fear, of him.

Haku was surprised when he apologized and teleported out of the cell for the final time.

Kakashi, Rin, and Daisuke all stood still as Minato took hold of the girl flashing away, reappearing and slashing Zabuza in the chest flashing him away and then reappeared with a tired look on his face. Glancing down at the lifeless child in Rin's arms and the tied up man on the floor, he sighed and said, "Where's Haru Sarutobi? There might be something wrong with the Kyubi seal."

Just then Haru ran out of the forest with a root wrapped around his headband, glaring at Minato. "What did you do with Haku-chan old-man?"

Minato patted the dead kids head sadly and then turned towards Haru strolling slowly. "She's at TI right now, Haru-kun. Are you feeling better now?"

Haru lessened his glare. Did he see him earlier in the woods in pain? Now, knowing that Haku was in the Leaf and not some place dead, he sheepishly grinned and nodded his head. This was his future father-in-law, he needed to show some respect afterall.

"Yeah, sorry Otou-sama for calling you old. I was just mad that I thought you um... killed Haku-chan," Haru yelled out, bowing to the sweat dropping man in front of him.

Lifting an eyebrow, Minato didn't expect it'd be that simple to mislead his pupils and use the child. It would seem his secret was still a secret. Letting out a genuine grin, Minato smiled down at the now blushing Haru and ruffled his hair fatherly. He was such a great scapegoat.
