Linda sunk lower in the tub, relaxing like her husband had suggested. She wondered what exactly Danny had planned. The doorbell rang, causing her to groan. She quickly dried off and put her robe on.
"I'm coming!" She called to the door. She opened the door and a smile spread across her face. It was her husband dressed up in a nice suit. "Why, Detective Regan, what a nice surprise."
"For you, my dear," Danny handed Linda flowers and a box of chocolate.
"Thank you." She handed the flowers back to Danny. "Put these in water and I'll be right back!" Linda ran back upstairs. If Danny's outfit was any clue as to where they were going, jeans and a T-shirt was not going to be appropriate. She quickly slipped into her black dress that rested right at her knee. She dried her hair fast, clasped on the diamond jewelry set Danny had gotten her for their eighteenth wedding anniversary, and grabbed her shoes.
"Are you gonna tell me where we're going?" Linda asked as she walked down the stairs.
"Nope." Danny held his arm out for Linda to take.
She gladly took it, and walked out the door. Her eyes got big and her mouth dropped open. "A limo?!"
Opening the door for her, Danny answered, "only the best for the woman I love." He slid in next to Linda, and grabbed the champagne and glasses from the floor cavity.
"Champagne too?"
"Like I said," effortlessly, the detective unscrewed the top. "Only the best."
"Danny Reagan," the nurse smiled as he poured the champagne. "What do you have planned?"
"You'll see."
"No way!" Linda exclaimed as they stopped in front of one of the most expensive restaurants in New York.
"Yes way." Helping his wife out of the limo, he added, "this is only the beginning."
"Beginning?" She grinned as she walked arm in arm with her loving husband into the restaurant.
After a delicious dinner and decadent dessert, Linda and Danny sat in the back of the limo again.
"I wish this night would never end," Linda stated, resting her head on Danny's shoulder.
He kissed her forehead, "I told you, the restaurant and the limo were only part one."
"Part one?"
"As in this night has multiple parts. Part two's coming up on the right."
Linda looked out the window and gasped, "get outta here!" She smiled at Danny, "CATS? You got us tickets to see CATS? Oh, Danny!" She hugged him and gave him a big kiss.
"Only the best for you." He smiled and got out of the car. He opened the door for Linda, who could not stop smiling.
"Okay, mister," Linda started as they drove trough the city. "Exactly how many parts are there to this fabulous night?"
"Four-ish."
"Four-ish? How can it be four— huh!" Linda gaped at the hotel they had stopped in front of. "The Ritz-Carlton?! No way in the world."
"Yes, way. And we've got an amazing room."
They walked in and let the bellhop take them to their room. Linda walked in in a daze, with her hands over her mouth.
"The Presidential Suite, Ma'am and Sir."
"Flowers, champagne," Linda smiled as she looked at the room. "A beautiful bathtub!"
Danny smiled and handed the bellboy a tip.
"Anniversary?" He smiled at the detective.
"No, she just needed a picker-upper."
"You're one loving husband."
"He is!" Linda gushed as she walked up to them. "He took me to One If By Land, Two If By Sea, rented a limo, took me to CATS, and now this! I just absolutely love this man!" Linda smiled and kissed Danny very passionately, not caring that the bell boy was watching.
"Enjoy your stay," he smiled and left.
"What's part four?" Linda wondered, as she necked her husband.
"Making love in this very expensive room." He smiled and unzipped Linda's dress.
"I love you, Danny." She smiled lovingly at her husband.
"I love you more."
"I love you most. And I'm gonna prove it!"
