Hello guys! Surprise surprise I'm back from the dead! I've seen some of you being worried about my health but just so you know I'm fine and I'm genuinely moved by you! Truth is my life's been turned upside down and I really didn't have any inspiration to write but things are going to change I promise! I mean we're all in quarantine now so what's better than writing? I'm really sorry for this delay. I hope to update again as soon as possible thank you all!

"Guards will be coming from the right", Ekko whispered as he stood next to Ezreal. Sword in hand.

Meanwhile the Darkin hadn't moved from the top of the staircase. Katarina raised her daggers then blew her bangs out of her line of vision.

"My, my.. What a charade", a velvety voice said and its owner emerged from the shadows. The figure lifted her black veil to uncover her pale yet beautiful face. In her hands was a long staff of mystical origin.

"Who's that now?", Jayce lifted an eyebrow in question.

"It's LeBlanc", Katarina clenched her teeth. "She's mine", she hissed.

"Really?", LeBlanc feigned shock. "I thought we had something special". A sinister smile sat at her lips.

One second later guards appeared from their right just like Ekko had predicted. How does he even do that? Ezreal gave him a questioning look but the boy with the mohawk simply shrugged.

"Seize them!", the pale woman ordered them.

They were heavily armored with a shield and a spear or a sword in each hand. However they weren't that many. Half a dozen perhaps, Ezreal made a quick notice. He hadn't even realized that Rhaast wasn't there anymore. He looked around confused.

"Ekko?", he asked expecting to hear the boy's next prediction. He may not have known how his ability worked but it worked. And right now that was all he cared about.

"Through the wall!", the boy yelled one second before Rhaast leaped through the wall behind them.

Oh God.. Kayn.. What have you done? He wondered as he arcane shifted away with Lux holding her sweaty hand. But they were surrounded. Ezreal looked around for an escape.

"Ekko get my father outside now!", Katarina growled and the boy nodded.

Without hesitating he grabbed Marcus DuCuteau's frail hand.

"Sir you're coming with me", he smiled kindly at the man who still seemed completely unaware of his situation, yet Marcus somehow managed to smile back. They were engulfed in a purple glow and less than a second later both of them were gone. Katarina let out a sigh of relief while holding still in her position. Her eyes were alert. As if she was anticipating their foes' next movement.

"Charge!", a guard yelled and the others followed suit.

Ezreal arcane shifted away with Lux still holding tightly onto him. They were now in a hallway, running away as fast as they could.

"We can't just abandon Katarina and Jayce!", Luxanna yelled at him but she didn't stop running.

"I'm not abandoning them", Ezreal said determined. "You are".

Lux Crownguard blinked in confusion.

"Wha-?", she began to ask before Ezreal put his finger on her lips causing her to stop talking altogether. They were standing behind a staircase. The lighting wasn't that good so people passing by wouldn't be able to see them at first glance.

"You stay here", he whispered. Lux could tell that the boy wouldn't take no for an answer.

"But-"

"No. I know you're strong Lux but I can't let you fight without your staff", he answered seriously. "I only want you to be safe", he pleaded with both of his hands on her shoulders.

"What makes you think that hiding here is any safer?", Lux replied but she could understand where he was coming from. After all, she would have acted the same way if Ezreal didn't have his gauntlet.

The boy sighed.

"I'm going back. Be careful", there was worry in his voice but he didn't bother trying to argue back.

There was a sizzle then a slight pop before Ezreal's form disappeared, leaving behind nothing but an air of golden sparks as Lux stood alone in the darkness.

By now Ezreal had lost count of how many mystic shots had sprung through his golden gauntlet. Jayce wiped the sweat from his forehead with his elbow and Katarina was almost out of breath.

"Sweating already?", Katarina hissed at Jayce.

"Oh please.. These are smallfry", the boy grinned as he desperately tried to maintain his tiltproof and cool image while fending off the guards at the same time. Ezreal simply rolled his eyes.

Guards kept coming their way and the three of them would deal with all of them as fast as they could. Rhaast was sliding through the walls around them. Ezreal had tried to shoot at him multiple times but it was no use. The moment he thought he had finally got him, the Darkin would disappear from his sight and into the thick wall. The boy grumbled in frustration. All I need is one good shot..

"Idiots!", LeBlanc screamed visibly infuriated at the guards' futile attempts to capture anyone of the three teenagers. "You can't even catch some kids"!

Ezreal fired a mystic shot right next to LeBlanc's face, opening a large hole on the wall behind her.

"We aren't 'some kids'", Ezreal said cockily. "We're from Durrandal's God-Weapon Academy".

"Bee-yotch!", Jayce finished Ezreal's sentence and proceeded to get weird looks from both of his companions. "What?", he shrugged as the girl with the pink hair rolled her eyes till they almost reached the back of her skull.

"You kinda ruined the moment man", Ezreal said under his breath so only Jayce could hear him.

"What? I MADE the moment", he chuckled.

"Enough!", LeBlanc chimed in completely uninvited, destroying the two boys' unnecessary arguement. With a quick wave of her staff, Ezreal's body was wrapped in a golden chains. But the worst part was that the chain had also been wrapped around his mouth.

"Mmmmm!", the boy let out an angry grumble. Plus, these chains reminded him of Sylas which made his blood boil just a tiny bit more than it already was.

"Thank you Misses! I thought he would never shut up", Jayce said but he was still aiming at the woman with his hextech hammer. "Now give us your boss! We won't deal with you".

All of a sudden the woman appeared inches before Jayce's smug face. He hadn't even realized what had happened. All he knew was that now he was lying headfirst on the floor. His hextech hammer had been crushed to pieces a few meters away from him. And LeBlanc's expressionless face was exactly were she was a second ago. As if she had never even moved.

Ezreal looked at the destroyed hextech device with wide eyes then stared at Jayce's pained expression.

"Come on LeBlanc.. These guys are new.. Cut the some slack and deal with me. We know eachother well", Katarina said stepping in front of Jayce's body. If someone didn't know any better they would think that she was actually trying to protect him.

A smug chuckle escaped the older woman's lips. She was moving with such an incredible speed that Ezreal had a hard time keeping up with her sudden movements.
But there was resolve in Katarina's eyes. Ezreal could tell without question that the pink haired girl wouldn't leave this place without getting what she had come for: revenge.

Ezreal could feel his senses tingling. He could feel something was.. wrong.

A shadow was hovering over his chained body.

With zero hesitation, he arcane shifted and made it to the next room without any difficulties but the chains were still attached to him. Making him unable to battle. Ofcourse they aren't gonna just come off you dumbass.. These aren't real chains. They're consisted of that crazy yet weirdly attractive mage's mana..

"Run boy..", a deep voice said sending chills down his spine. Ezreal tried to turn his head to face the man.

Rhaast was wielding Kayn's scythe while he was casually walking towards his helpless body.

This can't be.. This can't be how this ends.. Please.. Gods..

Ezreal tried to jerk his body away from him but the Darkin was a lot faster than he had initially expected. He focused all of his energy to arcane shift away but.. he couldn't. The Darkin had placed the scythe's handle on top of him.

He remembered when he was fighting Kayn at the bar. The scythe seemed to negate every kind of magic it touched. His blue eyes were staring with wonder at the red glowing eyes above him. The boy gulped in fear.

This is it I guess..

He was going to die shackled and alone. By the man he once considered his best friend.. You could say it was only a fitting end for someone like him. Someone who could never quite fit it. Someone who had caused so much trouble throughout his shortlived life.

Every item he had ever stolen flashed before his eyes. He remembered stealing the gauntlet that night. He remembered principal Yuumi's kind eyes. He remembered fighting with Kayn in their small dorm room. Zoe giggling. Katarina rolling her eyes. Garen giving him a really firm handshake. He remembered Lux crying. Sylas punching him in the face. He recalled laughing with Neeko on a sidewalk in the middle of the night. Singed falling into his trapdoor. He remembered fighting Akali amidst black smoke. Running with Ekko. Professor Graves smoking a cigar.

The Darkin swinged his large scythe. The boy closed his eyes.

This is it.. He thought.

When he opened them again. The Darkin was still there. Scythe still in hand. About to slice him to pieces. But he was still. As if he had been frozen in time.

"You called?", he heard a screeching voice coming from somewhere behind him. He could see the back of her head. Her long, colourful floating hair.

The girl turned to face him with a smile. As she always did in the past. She gave him a wink then snapped her fingers. The chains around Ezreal's body immediately dissolved as if they had never existed in the first place.

The boy stood up as fast as he could. Only then did he see the tiny white butterflies around Rhaast.

"Zoe!", he exclaimed. Truth be told he had never been more happy to see her. "You just saved my life"!

Without realizing, he was already giving her a tight hug.

"Don't you get all sentimental on me now", Zoe chuckled. "He's not going to be asleep forever you know", she popped a gum between her lips. "Get out. Leave the bad guy to me".

Ezreal was staring at her. Dumbfounded. Not sure of what was the right thing to do.

"I can't leave you alone. He's too strong!", he nearly yelled.

"Relax Ez. I got this".

Zoe could see that Ezreal was far from convinced despite her reassurements. She walked closer to him and took his chin in her delicate little fingers.

"I'm a goddess remember?", the short girl winked making Ezreal give her a faint smile. "Go help the others", she commanded him.

Ezreal nodded affirmatively. He had already started to walk back to the other room but he suddenly stopped on his tracks to look at her.

Will this really be okay? he wondered. Then he saw a star being shot towards the Darkin. This is going to be okay. He reassured himself and went back to running.
