Rosario Vampire Re-Vamped

Chapter nineteen: A startling reveal; what's in her head?

Kagura and Sakaki, two of the girls in Miss Yukari's homeroom class over at Azu-Daioh High, were on their way over to the residence of their friend Tomo. The two of them, as well as their friends and classmates, had not seen hide nor hair of the energetic girl all day. The two girls got it from their friend Yomi that Tomo, apparently, had been home all day, not even having left her bedroom for anything. At least that's what the glasses-wearing girl had gotten on the matter from Tomo's mom, given that Tomo herself wasn't answering any calls.

"Geez, maybe she got hit by some backlash from that witch's curse that was going around until those newspaper club boys put a stop to it," Kagura remarked, "Speaking of, weren't they at that tournament at the arcade yesterday?"

Sakaki nodded in the affirmative. "Yes, Ginei and the rest of our classmates in the newspaper club were at the arcade. I suppose the girls in the newspaper club wanted to celebrate being cured of the effects of that curse magic that was going around." Kagura nodded in agreement, knowing full well what had happened during the brief time in which a witch's curse magic had gone around Azu-Daioh High, given what said curse magic was doing to near every female student at the school until the newspaper boys put a stop to it. Every girl that had been affected by the curse magic had been returned to normal.

There were, of course, a few exceptions to the curse magic affecting the female students of the school; three girls from the newspaper club, Moka, Kokoa and Lingling were unaffected. Also, Kagura's and Sakaki's friends Tomo and Osaka were also unaffected for some odd reason as well that no one has yet to find out. Of course, given how secretive Tomo had been since the beginning of today, Kagura, Sakaki and the other girls in their circle of friends all assumed that she was actually affect, but the magic had some sort of delayed effect on her somehow.

The two teenage girls arrived at Tomo's residence, were greeted by her mother at the front door. After the two girls were let in, they went straight up the stairs to the second floor; having been over to all of their friends' homes before, Kagura and Sakaki knew full well where they could find Tomo's bedroom. It didn't take the two of them all that long to find where Tomo had been holing herself up all day, given that her bedroom door had an admittedly flamboyant and tacky sign with her name on it, a telltale sign of the inflated sense of self-worth that the energetic girl had when it came to herself.

Sakaki reached forward with her right hand curled somewhat into a fist, gently knocked on Tomo's bedroom door with her knuckles. "…Tomo?" Sakaki called out, a hint of concern in her tone, "It us, Sakaki and Kagura. We came to check up on you since no one had heard from you all day. Are you doing alright in there?"

There was no response for a silent couple of seconds, up until Sakaki and Kagura heard Tomo call out from withing her room, using a tone that was barely audible through the door. "…Go away. I'm a monster."

"Yeah, she got some sort of delayed effect from that witch's magic, alright," Kagura muttered to Sakaki in a knowing tone, "Only Tomo would see herself as a monster if she was super-fattened like most of the other affected girls until the newspaper club boys undid everything."

"Tomo, it's alright," Sakaki said as she opened the bedroom door so that she and Kagura could go inside and see how their friend was doing. To the piqued surprise of Sakaki and Kagura, Tomo was actually not affected by any delayed efforts of the witch's curse that had been going around a few days ago, given that Tomo was still very clearly as slender as she had always been known to be.

The energetic girl was also standing up, approximately in the center of her bedroom, her back to the door thus Sakaki and Kagura only saw her from the back. Tomo was wearing a baggy, notably oversized sweater, a pair of matching sweatpants, and socks; she was holding something in front of herself, obscuring her hands from view to those who just entered her room. Her hair seemed a little bit disheveled, but then again Sakaki and Kagura both assumed that Tomo had just gotten out of bed, so of course it would be a little on the messy side.

Sakaki and Kagura were both confused by how their friend was acting, and they were starting to grow worried. "Tomo, are you…" Sakaki began, "…Are you okay?"

"Come on, girl," Kagura remarked, "You're acting ridiculous. Not to mention how I can at least say that I'm starting to get scared by how you're acting." Sakaki agreed, saying that she was also starting to feel a little unsettled by how Tomo, who was normally so cheery and hard to keep down, was acting so quiet, withdrawn, afraid to have people see her as she was at the moment like something was wrong with her.

Tomo just stood there, never turning to face her friends who had come to see her. "…I told you guys to go away. I'm a monster."

"Tomo, you're being ridiculous," Kagura began, "Look, you clearly have not been affected by any delayed aspect of that curse magic that had been going around, so there's no reason for you to act like you're some sort of-"

Kagura stopped short when Tomo threw something she was holding to her right, causing it to land on her bed safely. Sakaki and Kagura were surprised to see that it was a hand mirror. Something else that also caught their attention was Tomo's right hand, which they could still see as Tomo still had her right arm out. To their wondering shock, Tomo's hand was a bluish gray color, rather than the fair, healthy skin color that the other girls at school had.

"…I said go away…" Tomo said, her voice sounding genuinely afraid.

Sakaki and Kagura took a tentative step towards their friend, alarms going off in their head as to what was going on with her. "…Tomo, we-" Sakaki began in a bit of a pleading tone, but she and Kagura stopped short and took a surprised step back when Tomo turned around, showing them what she looked like; just like it was with her hand, the rest of Tomo's skin was a deathly bluish gray color, her eyes now red, and a notable rash-like coloration on her throat. It was clear to both Sakaki and Kagura that Tomo…that Tomo was no longer human.

"I SAID GO AWAY!"

The Aono family was sitting down to dinner, able to enjoy it as a whole family this time given that Tsukune's father Koji said that the project that he and the team at Shirayuki Offices that he was a part of was finally finished. "I bet that Mr. Shirayuki will be glad that the boys and I had finally finished," Koji remarked, a sense of pride mixed with relief in his voice as she spoke to his family about the success he and his team had at work."

Kasumi nodded in agreement with her husband, glad to have him home for dinner after work forced him to miss the last few nights. Tsukune's older cousin Kyoko said that she bet that Koji and his team would be able to knock whatever work they got next right out of the park. As for Tsukune himself, he respectfully kept quiet as he ate dinner. The human-turned-snow fairy had a look around the table, at his still-human family. He was wondering if he was the only one that was in such a situation, the only monster in an otherwise entirely human family.

At that moment, there was a notably urgent-sounding knock at the Aono's front door. "I'll get it," Tsukune said as he got up from the table and walked over to answer the front door. To his piqued surprise, it was Sakaki and Kagura, two of the girls that respect Miss Yukari. Both of them looked very rattled, as if they had seen a ghost. "Is…there something that I can help the two of you girls with?" Tsukune asked, more curious than anything else due to the surprise visit from Sakaki and Kagura.

"T-T-Tomo," Sakaki said, clearly freaking out as she sputtered out her friend's name, "Tomo was acting w-weird all day like she was s-s-sick. The girls and I w-were worried." Sakaki was able to take a few breaths to calm herself before she went on. "…*sigh*…Kagura and I went to see Tomo to check up on her. When we went into her room, she was standing with her back to the door. Then she turned around, and…and…"

"Long story short," Kagura said, a bit more together than Sakaki, "We just discovered that Tomo is not a human, but rather some race of monster."

The Aono boy was a bit surprised to hear that one of the six girls who followed Miss Yukari was actually a monster. It was not something that he was expecting, even though he himself used to be a human. "…Your friend Tomo…is actually a monster and not a human." After both Kagura and Sakaki nodded in the affirmative, Tsukune asked, "Do you know what race of monster that she belongs to? Did you see her monster form?"

Both girls nodded in the affirmative and in unison. "…Tomo had a bluish gray skin," Sakaki said, "Her eyes were red rather than their traditional color. There was also some sort of rash-like coloration on her throat, but I don't know how that has to do with anything." Kagura nodding along with Sakaki showed that she can confirm her friend's story.

Tsukune held a hand to his chin as we wore a contemplative look on his face. "…Hmm, sounds like Tomo is probably some form of undead-type monster. The basic description that you two had given me just now reminds me of those actresses that all star on Saga Stories. The ten main characters on that show had come out as actually being zombies due to an incident that took place back during Hirajo's attack on the city."

"Tomo is actually a zombie?!" Kagura exclaimed, both her and Sakaki looking alarmed.

"I'll need to get ahold of some of the guys and then we'll have to go see Tomo to get a better idea about what's going on," Tsukune remarked, "But from the sounds of it your friend totally sounds like she now one of the living dead." Giving the two girls a serious look, Tsukune asked them, "Can the two of you come here tomorrow before we pursue this any further? The guys and I will need to get ready before we can help out any."

Sakaki and Kagura both nodded in understanding, getting a time from Tsukune that they could meet him at his place the next morning. After the arrangements were made, the two girls took off, allowing Tsukune to close the door and return to his family having dinner. After Tsukune sat back down at the table, Kyoko asked her younger cousin what was the business he had over at the front door.

Tsukune explained that some human girls came to him because they found out that one of their friends is a monster, as opposed to a human like what everyone had previously thought. Tsukune further went on to say that he and a few of his friends in the newspaper club were going to go over to see the newly revealed as a monster girl tomorrow to look into the matter and get a feel for what exactly was going on.

The rest of the Aono family dinner passed without incident, allowing Koji to go on about more of his exploits over at work. Tsukune was only paying half-attention to his father's rambling at best, given that what he had talked about with Sakaki and Kagura over by the front door was still fresh in his mind. How was it that someone who was thought to be a human for so long suddenly turn out to actually be a monster? The Aono boy wanted answers.

The next morning, which luckily saw students all over off of school, Tsukune, with Ginei and Draco following along behind him, go to the residence of Sakaki and Kagura's friend Tomo, following the two girls themselves "Wait, how in the hell can she be some sort of undead-type monster again?" Ginei asked, "I'm sorry, but I'm finding it hard to believe that one of your friends can just up and turn out to be a monster this whole time."

"Believe you me," Kagura remarked, "Sakaki here and I are just as dumbfounded as you are."

"And we don't know for certain if Tomo really is a zombie or some other undead-type monster," Tsukune pointed out, "I'm just going off of the description that the girls here gave me when they came to my place last night to ask for my help." The group reached the front door, which Sakaki knocked on a few times. A moment later, the door was answered by Tomo's mom, who was a bit surprised that there were so many visitors here to see her daughter.

After a bit of coaxing, Tomo's friends were able to get Tomo down to the living room, where she sat in an armchair while the others stood around. She still looked as she did when her friends came to see her the previous evening. Draco gave the air a few sniffs, leaning a bit in Tomo's direction at times. "…Yeah, there's no doubt about it," the dragon remarked in a sure-of-it kind of tone. He gestured to the undead-looking girl. "Tomo here is totally an undead-type monster. A standard zombie, if you want to be specific."

"Alright, but how in the hell did this even happen?" Ginei asked, "Zombie-ism is not infectious, so there is no way Tomo could have been 'turned', as humans call it. There has got to be a good reason behind how your friend turned out like-"

The werewolf was cut off when there was a knock at the door, which Tomo's mom was quick to answer. A few seconds later, Tomo's mom led in a group of three visitors. Tsukune and the others recognized the two girls as members of Franchouchou, the actress troop that stars on the popular show Saga Stories. As for the man, he introduced himself as Kotaro, the manager of the popular actresses that had taken Japan by storm.

Said popularity, by the way, went up when the girls of Franchouchou had come out as zombies.

"Ah, Kotaro-san, I'm glad you were able to make it," Tomo's mom said as she bowed her head thankfully to the man as he walked into the house, followed by the two girls from Franchouchou that came with him.

The man waved a hand in a gesture showing that things were not a bother to him. "Please, no need to fret," Kotaro replied, "Now, you said something on the phone about the hypnosis that I put your daughter under somehow coming undone, yes?"

"Hang on, hang on, hang on a minute here," Ginei said, making everyone stop and turn to look at him. Looking to Kotaro, Ginei said, "Do you have something to do with what in the hell is going on here concerning Tomo turning out to be a zombie?"

The manager of Franchouchou simply gave Ginei, as well as Tsukune and Draco to a lesser extent, a wry look. "…And who might you be?" the mysterious man asked.

"The three of them are monster students from Azu-Daioh High," Kagura explained, "But before we can get into all of that, I think that you ought to explain yourself a little bit first, like who the hell are you, how the hell you know Tomo's mom apparently, how the hell did Tomo become a zombie in the first place, and why the hell you are here."

Kotaro gave Kagura, as well as Sakaki and the other high school students, a curious look before he let out a resigned sigh. "…I suppose that an explanation is in order. We ought to sit down for this one. It'll be a bit of a doozey."

Once everyone had been seated, Kotaro began the process of introducing himself, as well as give an explanation for his presence and a little bit of history as well. "First off, I believe that I should give my full name. I am Kotaro Tatsumi, and I work as the manager of Franchouchou, the group of actresses that all star on Saga Stories." Kotaro gestured to the two girls that had come with him, one with long rose-colored hair and one with her long blonde hair in a ponytail. "These are two of the girls that I manage," Kotaro said as he introduced the two girls, "Sakura Minamoto and Saki Nikaido."

"Yeah, I remember seeing them at a recent gaming tournament at an arcade," Ginei remarked, "I think that Saki girl placed fifth, with one other girl from her group actually winning." Ginei gave a gentle shake of his head. "…But more on that later. For now, how is it that you came to know Tomo's mom? What's more, how are you related to the face that Tomo turned out to have been a zombie this whole time?"

"I was getting to that," Kotaro remarked. Letting out a breath, the manager of Franchouchou said, "You see, Mrs. Takino has been helping with the Saga Stories project for quite some time. Her contributions make up a good part of why Saga Stories was able to kick off as well as it had. We owe quite a lot to her."

Everyone turned to look at Tomo's mom, a surprised look on their faces. Tomo was especially surprised, having had no idea prior that her mother was involved in something like that. "A few months prior to the airing of the first episode of Saga Stories, however," Kotaro continued, "I got a call from Mrs. Takino, who sounded very clearly distressed. I figured that I had to go see her, given that, as the manager of the Saga Stories project, I simply couldn't leave one of the biggest contributors hanging in a time of need."

Everyone gave their attention to the sunglasses-wearing man as his tone, the air he gave off, became serious and grim. "…What I found when I had arrived here at the Takino residence was not something that I was expecting…"

(FLASHBACK)

Kotaro and Mrs. Takino stood in a teen girl's bedroom. Laying on the bed was the lifeless body of Tomo, her eyes closed and her arms folded against her chest in a manner many would imagine when thinking of someone being laid to rest. Mrs. Takino was clearly in tears as she looked at her dead daughter, laying on her bed as if she was nothing more than simply asleep. Tomo very much was asleep, a slumber from which she would never awaken.

Kotaro turned to regard Mrs. Takino, to who he and the rest of the team for the Saga Stories project owed so much to because of her contributions. "…Yeah, I can see why you'd call me over for this," Kotaro remarked in a grim tone, "How long ago, did you say?"

Sniffling through her tears, Mrs. Takino said, "L-L-Less than t-two hours. She had a f-fatal asthma attack."

Kotaro turned back to face where the deceased Tomo laid peacefully on her bed, never to get up again. …Or so many would think, if they did not know what sort of shenanigans Kotaro is able to access. "We already have the ten girls that are needed for the show," the manager said, "But we still have more than enough supplies to raise more from the dead. Counting the ten legendary girls that I had picked out, we have enough to raise at least twenty." Kotaro turned to look at his friend, giving her a serious look when he noticed the surprised look on Mrs. Takino's face, a look that carried a trace of hope.

"…I am only going to tell you this once," Kotaro said, his tone firm yet with a hint of sympathy, "If we do raise your daughter, she will not return as what she was at the time of her death. She will be raised as a zombie, unawakened at first until something stimulates the recesses of her mind and brings her back as the closest resemblance to the daughter that you had lost. She will also be biologically stuck at the age she was at when she had died, never growing older, meaning she will essentially be stuck as a teenager."

Mrs. Takino listened on as Kotaro told her about what all will happen if Tomo is returned like what will be done for the ten 'legends' that Kotaro had picked out to star in Saga Stories. The man turned so that he was fully facing her, the seriousness in the air that he was giving off never leaving or diminishing. "…Knowing all of that, knowing what your daughter's life will be like if she is raised as one of the living dead, do you still wish for me to bring her back?"

"Yes," Mrs. Takino replied, without a moment's hesitation. She knew what zombies were really like, knew that an awakened zombie was essentially what they were like as a human, just with a few biological functions shut down. If she could have Tomo back as that, even if it meant that she wouldn't be human, then it would be enough for her. All that the woman wanted to just have her daughter back.

Kotaro sighed in a knowing tone, seemingly having expected such a response from one of the biggest contributors to the Saga Stories project. "…Very well. It will take me a while to get the necessary supplies, but I should be back here within the next two hours." As he turned to leave, Kotaro added as he parted, "By the way, I hope you realize that, as your daughter will be raised as a zombie, I may have to call upon her should the need arise for the project."

"I understand, Kotaro-san," Mrs. Takino replied, bowing her head thankfully as the man that would be bringing her daughter back left to get what he needed for the job.

Later that day, Kotaro and Mrs. Takino were in the basement of the Takino residence, looking at Tomo, who had been raised from the dead, slowly trying to walk into a wall. Despite being a zombie, Tomo looked completely human. "I had to use a special art to bring forth a staying use of Monster Glamour to make your daughter look human," Kotaro said, "So that when she finally awakens, she'll think that she's still completely human, that anything she remembers of her death was nothing more than a terrible dream."

"When will she awaken, Kotaro-san?" Mrs. Takino asked, clearly concerned.

"I can't say for certain, as she needs a trigger to awaken," the manager replied in a grim tone, "It could take days, or weeks, maybe months. Who can say for certain? Each person that is raised as a zombie has their own unique trigger that awakens them, and finding that trigger may be a-"

Kotaro was cut off when a phone's ringtone went off. It was coming from Tomo's phone, which was sitting on a table in the basement, off to the side where Kotaro and the Takino girls were both milling about. Eventually, it went to voice mail, and the call had very clearly been made by Tomo's friend Yomi, who sounded none too pleased with the energetic girl.

"Tomo, you lazy idiot!" Yomi's voice screamed from the instant message, "You better not forget what you have to bring for the group project for Miss Yukari's class at school! I refuse to bail your sorry, forgetful ass out of trouble again! If we fail because of you, I will have to go to the patent office first since I will be inventing a whole new kind of pain for you!" After the strongly worded voice mail had finished, Kotaro turned to face Mrs. Takino.

"Your…" Kotaro began, "…Daughter seems to have quite a collection of-"

"Bring it on, Yomi!" Tomo yelled, "I'll be kicking your ass if you-" Stopping short, Tomo looked around where she was at. Soon enough, she spotted her mother and Kotaro standing in the basement with her. "…Mom?" the energetic girl said, clearly confused with what was going on, "Why are we in the basement? How did I get to the basement?" Looking at Kotaro, Tomo looked at him before pointing and asking, "And who are you?" Tomo got no answers, but her mother did run up and hug her, crying into her daughter's shoulder. Kotaro, seeing that his work was done, merely smiled in an approving manner as he watched a mother embrace a child that she thought she would never see again.

(FLASHBACK OVER)

"…A few weeks later, the first episode of Saga Stories hit the air," Kotaro went on, "And the rest is history. …Or rather, it was history, until the staying use of Monster Glamour that I drew out of Tomo somehow broke." Kotaro held a hand to his chin, a contemplative look on his face. "I have no idea what might have caused it to break. My guess is the stress of the recent monster attack, or maybe the girls of Franchouchou all coming out as zombies helped to speed things along."

"If I may." Hearing Draco speak up, everyone turned to regard him. "I have a theory that I just thought of, related to recent events over art Azu-Daioh High," the German-born monster began, "…Recently, the curse magic of a witch had gone around Azu-Daioh High, magically fattening any female student at the school it came in contact with. My friends and I in the newspaper club destroyed the responsible witch, ending her curse magic and returning all of the affected persons back to normal."

Kotaro nodded to show that he was following along. Gesturing to Draco, Kotaro said, "And this relates to Tomo how?"

"The curse magic had the effect of magically altering one's weight," Draco clarified, "Undead-type monsters are impervious to magics that would alter their weight. They cannot be magically fattened, or slimmed, or bulked up with muscle." Gesturing to Tomo, the dragon went on, "That would explain why Tomo was not affected by the curse magic. As an undead, Tomo was totally immune to it."

Snapping his fingers, Tsukune said, "Oh! That also explained why Moka, Kokoa and Lingling were not affected either! The first two are vampires and the other is a jiang shi! Both of those are undead-type monsters!" Draco nodded in confirmation.

"Wait a minute," Sakaki began, "What about Osaka? Is she secretly undead as well since she was also unaffected?" The three boys that were from the newspaper club exchanged quick looks with each other, wondering how to go about covering this track.

"…No, I confirmed that Osaka is fully human," Draco replied, "My friends and I are still looking into how she was unaffected. We'll tell you all when we find an answer."

Leaning back in her seat, Tomo asked, "So now what?" Everyone in the living room all turned to look at Tomo, who looked upset. Understandably so, as she just found out that she had been a living dead this whole time, since sometime well before the monster attack on the city. "What do I do now that I know what I really am?" Tomo asked, clearly sounding like her entire world was crashing down around her, "Do I continue to live my life as I always have? Do I hide myself away so that others don't have to deal with me? And what will my friends think of me when the girls here tell them that I've been a zombie all this time?"

Tomo began softly crying, lost and confused on what life had in store for her now that she knew that she was, technically, lifeless. As everyone looked around, unsure what to do with a crying teen girl, Sakura got up from where she sat, walked over to Tomo, and gently laid a hand on her shoulder, getting her to look up at her. Tears were running down the sides of Tomo's face as she looked up at the long-haired zombie girl.

Sakura gave Tomo a sympathetic look as she regarded her. "…I was just as confused and lost when I first realized I was a zombie as you're feeling right now. But it's not necessarily the end of the world. You have a lot of people who will be there for you and support you as you get used to living life as one of the undead. Also, zombies are nowhere near as socially unaccepted as some may think, thanks to recent efforts between the human and monster worlds to become close friends and allies. You should adjust soon enough."

Holding her arms out at her side, Tomo asked, "But how am I going to walk about looking like this?! People are bound to notice a zombie walking around at random!" Smiling in a manner that showed she understood, Sakura closed her eyes, releasing some pale manner of energy from her person. Soon, Sakura's skin became the same bluish-gray and Tomo's. Sakura's eyes, which now looked as red as Tomo's when they opened, looked a bit sunken.

"The other girls in Franchouchou and I can show you how to learn the Monster Glamour skill," Sakura said as she, in her true zombie form, addressed Tomo, "It's not all that difficult a skill to learn. Even Ai and Junko, who took the longest out of all girls who had awakened, only needed a few days to master it."

From where she sat on a sofa, Saki flashed Tomo a thumbs-up. "I'm sure that you can pull it off, kiddo. Especially if Egghead here teaches you." Tomo looked around, looked to all of the people who were smiling in a supportive manner at her. Even two of her regular friends, Sakaki and Kagura, all were there for her, willing to give her what help that they could. Tomo couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by all of it, so she just started crying. Mrs. Takino was quick to give her undead daughter a comforting, supportive hug.

Two days later at Azu-Daioh High, the newspaper club boys were all discussing what Tsukune, Ginei and Draco had learned about one of the girls that follows Miss Yukari. "Wait a minute, so that Tomo girl is actually a zombie?" Haiji asked, more surprised than anything.

"Isn't she the one who spread the existence of monster kind after the incident at the ski resort that Mizore's mom owns?" Fangfang asked, more curious than anything else.

Shrugging indifferently, Tsukune said, "Well at this point, too much has happened for us to be reasonably upset with what Tomo did back then. But that's beside the point." Gesturing to the cleaning supplies that were out near the boys, the human-turned-snow fairy said, "We need to get the classroom cleaned up, remember?"

True enough, Miss Yukari was having her homeroom class clean the classroom, as Japanese school lack janitors unlike American schools. As the class was cleaning the classroom up, Miss Yukari walked into the classroom with Miss Kurosawa, Kagura and Osaka. "Minamo, thanks again for agreeing to help with the clean-up," Miss Yukari said as she patted her co-worker on the back, "We can use all the extra hands that we can get."

"Well so long as I can makes sure you don't mess anything up," Miss Kurosawa remarked.

Pointing to the direction of the storage closet in the classroom, Miss Yukari handed her a set of small keys. "Can you get the extra brooms out of the closet over there?"

Shrugging indifferently, Miss Kurosawa took the keys from Miss Yukari and went over to the closet in question, unlocking it when she got there. The physical education teacher opened the closet, but when she did she saw Tomo, in her zombie form, step towards her, with her arms raised and her fingers slightly clutched as she had an enraged expression on her face. "I WILL EAT YOU FLESH!" the undead girl yelled as if possessed by evil.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Miss Kurosawa screamed out of fright as she stumbled back, accidentally tripping over Kokoa who, having heard some noise, looked up to see what had happened. As Miss Kurosawa fell to the floor Miss Yukari laughed her ass off as Kagura, Osaka and even Tomo, who was in the middle of turning on her Monster Glamour, all looked as their physical education teacher with guilty, apologetic looks.

As she helped Miss Kurosawa to her feet, Tomo said guiltily, "Sorry about that, Kurosawa-sensei. But when Yukari-san learned that I was actually a zombie and could disguise myself as a human, she came up with this prank that she wanted to pull out you and made me, Kagura and Osaka play along with it."

Miss Yukari, as her laughter simmered down, was still pointing at Miss Kurosawa. "Sorry about that Minamo," the eccentric English teacher laughed, "But seriously! You should have seen the look on your face right after you opened the closet door and saw a zombie rush at you!"

"YOU LITTLE BRAT!" Miss Kurosawa yelled as she proceeded to chase Miss Yukari out of the homeroom class, leaving Miss Yukari's students alone.

After the two teachers were gone, Tsukune turned to look at the other guys in the school's newspaper club. "…And some folks wonder why I firmly believe that our Yukari would be a much better teacher than the Yukari that the school got to run this class."

END, CHAPTER NINETEEN

Author's notes;

And that covers one of the big twists that I had planned for this story. In case it wasn't obvious enough before, I'm a bit fond of the series Azumanga Daioh. I've been splashing them into this story for quite some time; hell, the name of the school, Azu-Daioh High, comes from the name of the series that I'm talking about, and the school was mentioned all the way back in chapter one of this story.

I've been able to splash the series into this Rosa-Vamp fic, along with a number of other things, in an attempt to create a tale more expansive than what I could have done if I had kept things as pure Rosa-Vamp as possible. I still have a lot more left for this story, so you can expect more out of here. But until then, try to take care. I'll be seeing you all in the next chapter; I'm not sure yet what that next chapter will be like, but I'll be damned if I don't try to make it awesome.
