Snow

School began, dobby watched Emma and every night she came home to the most perfect child ever. Dobby told her to watch and she was crawling. How the hell was she crawling and looking older in the few weeks she had born her. Narcissa nervously cast a diagnostic on the baby.

OH Shit!

This child was labeling at three months old when she was three weeks old. Oh dear. Narcissa, and McGonagall monitored it.

"I wish I were there," came often from the older witch's mouth.

"I wish a great many things, I am just happy to be alive today," Narcissa said with a smile, and it was then that Minerva was dwelling in the past. Narcissa turned to her as she lifted her bundle in the air before Dobby whisked her away

"We cannot wait for some day when tomorrow is right now," Narcissa said and then sighed. McGonagall looked on her.

"She is beautiful," Minerva said softly, lovingly.

"Yes, in many ways just like her mother," Narcissa said and then the conversation had gone flat. Minerva sighed.

"Why do you think she is getting older?" Narcissa asked.

"I have a theory, but it is a bit crazy," Minerva said and then Narcissa looked to her and nodded, "Was Hermione done aging when you both conceived?" The older witch asked. Narcissa thought on fact. She was not entirely sure, but she would have to say no. Hermione wore the time turner and used it on many occasions during the war.

"I don't think so, but I think she was slowing down. You think Emma will continue to age quickly forever, or will she slow down?"

"Let's continue to monitor it. I think she will slow down. Have Dobby bring her to the infirmary, and we can check on her in the afternoons," Minerva reached out and cupped Narcissa's chin, "It will be fine Lass, I promise," Minerva said, and they walked out of the Hogwarts accommodations. Dobby had the girl asleep and they both looked at the girl.

"She is slowing down, Mistress," Dobby said and Narcissa looked down at him.

"She isn't growing as fast, and her weight has leveled out, also the woman in the parlor that one day, she was the right age," Dobby said and looked down. Narcissa sat on the couch and motioned for him to sit with her. He hopped up and they looked at the fire.

"You knew who she was?" Narcissa asked.

"Yes, only because I knew Miss Emmy's parents, and she looks just like you both," Dobby said, "And it is also a bit of House elf magic. We know our children, even if they were not born yet," He sighed and looked at the fire.

"Thank you, this was beginning to worry me," she smiled. The floo sputtered and she smiled when her son and Harry potter walked into her Hogwarts home. It was a long day and she just wanted to stay.

"You look lovely mother," Draco said and then Harry nodded, "Were you ever pregnant?" he asked looked at her flat belly. Narcissa smiled and smack him with the back of her hand playfully.

"It's called magic Draco, and being a Black has its advantages," she winked. She and Severus got together to work on a salve to tighten up her belly, and ease some of the silver stretchmarks. She was well on her way to looking like she had a year ago, but she wasn't going to push it. She had time.

"We want to talk to you about something important," Draco said and then Narcissa sat up straight. Dobby went to get them all brandy, it seemed like it was going to be one of those talks.

"Getting married is very, daunting, because honestly we already are," Draco started and then got nervous. Narcissa reached for his arm squeezed it in knowing and he sighed.

"We don't want a huge wedding ceremony, just family," Draco still fumbled.

"We were talking about your idea of the island and we like it," Harry said, and she smiled widely and looked to Draco he was still frowning.

"What's the matter Little Lord?" she asked.

"We don't want to get married on Your island," Draco looked to his mother, "That is your island, your getaway and your memories before all of this went sideways. We don't want to take that from you, so we were talking to Fleur," Draco said and took a sip from his glass that Dobby gave them.

"Fleur has an idea," Draco said. Narcissa smiled.

"I get that, Love. Just spit it out," Narcissa said excited for Draco but did not know why he was hesitant.

"Her family owns a property in the south of France, and she said we can use that. It's on the beach, its warm, is secluded, and beautiful. Fleur described a paradise," Draco said.

"So, you want to get married in the south of France?" Narcissa asked.

"Yes," Draco whispered.

"Oh, my sweet boy that sounds wonderful!" Narcissa pulled him to her and kissed his temple. He pulled away looking at her, surprised, "Why did you think I was going to hate this idea?" she asked, and he shifted.

"You just seemed so happy when you told us of your idea. But I couldn't take that moment and memory from you," Draco relaxed as he saw her beaming at him, "You are really alright with this?"

"Absolutely! When is the happy day?"

"We are looking at March 1st," Draco said smiling.

"March is supposed to be wonderfully mild, and gorgeous," Harry pipped up as if trying to sell her on the idea. She laughed.

"Boys this is your day, I am just happy it is finally happening," she pulled them both into a hug. Her boys wrapped their arms around her, and she sank into their warmth. She thought not for the first time that Hermione was missing so much.

February

Narcissa was busier than normal when Valentine's Day hit. Either kids ate themselves sick on Valentine's day chocolate or the random love potion was running rampant throughout the school. She sighed when one day Bella was rushed into the infirmary with a boy who suddenly developed heart shaped pox on his body, followed by a terrified girl with a wrapper.

"Look here you little bint, if I was your mother I would turn you over my knee, but I am not. I have you know he is allergic to nuts," Bella said and Narcissa moved quickly. She knew every kid and had their files but thank Merlin Bella knew what he ate.

"It was a just a prank, honest," the girl whined, but had to good sense to look chastised.

"Almost killing him is a prank!?" Bella turned on her with her wand.

"Bellatrix Delacour!" Narcissa gritted in a low growl. Narcissa still the head of house bond on Bella, and used it when she was letting her emotions, especially with the children were getting out of control. Brandishing her wand as if she were about to Crucio the girl didn't help Bella in that moment.

"I will be going back to lunch," Bella grumbled. Narcissa nodded her thanks and then the little girl blinked, and her breathing came back to her.

"She was about to hex me into next week," she girl murmured.

"No, she would have stopped, but she is very protective of you children," Narcissa said as she worked on the boy. She made him swallow a potion for his allergy, and if he couldn't have swallowed it, she would have injected it into him magically. Narcissa took a deep breath and sat in a chair next to the boy.

"You could have killed him," Narcissa said, "Do you understand that?" Narcissa asked and the girl nodded. The doors flew open and the Headmistress walked over to the boy and looked down to the girl.

"Miss Little detention for the rest of the month with professors Snape and Delacour," she looked between the girl and Narcissa, "I see Mrs. Black and Mrs. Delacour have reiterated to you how badly this could have gone?" The Headmistress asked and the girl nodded, wiping a tear from her cheek. She was dismissed and they looked back to the boy.

"Aside from almost dying this was rather funny," Minerva said looking at the boy's heart shaped pox with a smile, "Those Weasley boys are getting better," Minerva said and then looked to Narcissa. They both laughed.

As February sped on Narcissa watched over her daughter as she pressed her cheek to Emma's forehead, as she slept on her chest. Dobby was right, she evened out and she was aging appropriately. It was those moments in the library nestled together staring at the fire that Narcissa cherished those moments most. She would breath in the scent of her daughter and smile. Something about babies, she loved the way they smelled. Lotion, soap, and milk.

Emma shifted on her chest, yawned and then cried. Narcissa smiled and bounced her lightly in her arms against her chest. The girl settled down and fell back to sleep. Dobby was right there. She looked to the elf and smiled.

"I got it," she whispered, and Dobby smiled back. He stayed with her most of the time, and Narcissa would have gone insane if she didn't have him by her side. She stood slowly and went to walk her daughter up to her room. She hummed softly and then once to the girl's cradle, and she lay her down. Gods, she looked so much like Hermione. This thought made her smile, and yet it tugged at her heart. She looked down to her wedding ring. She missed her wife. She shook her head of the thought. Soon Draco and Harry will have their ceremony. The world moves forward.

March and April

The day had finally come and Narcissa stood next to her son, and Bella stood next to Harry. They both wore black dresses, and their boys wore black suits. Narcissa let the words drift about as she looked around. All these people loved her two boys. It wasn't many. It was family, and it was a few friends from school that they boys kept in touch with, but they all cared about her boy, and is boy. She felt so much love. She looked to the side where a giggle was heard.

Emma was in the front with Dobby, and he quietly kept her occupied. Ducky was right there with her as he used his magic to twirl her hair, and Dobby kept changing to color of her shoes. She loved her little friends. She was so very young, but she imprinted on them, and they her.

Clapping sounded and Narcissa turned to see her son kissing the man he chose. When they broke they were nothing but smiles and love. The reception was grand. Dancing, drinks, and food. The elves danced with their little Emmy, Draco and Harry were joined like Siamese twins, you could not pull them apart. Fleur and Bella were in a similar boat, and Andromeda and Severus. Narcissa smiled as she watched them. They were a nice pair, but something was off. They loved each other, but their love didn't seem to be as deep as those around them. Narcissa saw Andromeda's eyes slip to the side from time to time. She held Sev's hand, stayed with Sev, loved Sev, but the woman kept looking in the direction of the other side of the beach.

Narcissa was like a dog with a bone. Who could have captivated her usually unflappable sister? One moment it was a man she thought Andy was tracking. Then Narcissa thought it was a woman. Something on the other side of the party. Severus kissed Andromeda and whispered in her ear. Her mouth dropped and she pulled from Severus. Then Severus walked over to Narcissa. She handed him a champagne flute and continued to watch Andy.

"What happened just now?" Narcissa asked. Severus sighed.

"I told her to go," he said softly and then he wrapped his arm around Narcissa, "She and I were wonderful together, but we are not what the other needs or wants," Severus said.

"Weird wasn't it?" Narcissa asked with a smile as she leaned into his side.

"What?" he asked.

"Dating," Narcissa said and then he smiled.

"You have no idea," he chuckled.

Narcissa watched as a man walked up to her sister. It was the same man from earlier. Then someone walked in front of them, and then it was a woman.

"Severus, is my sister talking to a shapeshifter?" Narcissa asked concern growing. Severus smiled.

"Yes, she hasn't been able to take her eyes off… them the entire night," Narcissa watched her sister and she saw it, that spark. Then a gruff voice came up beside Narcissa.

"That's our Andy, falling for something out of legend," Sirius said. Narcissa spun and clutched him to her.

"Oh, my Merlin Sirius you made, it! I haven't seen you in ages," Narcissa beamed up at her cousin. He looked wonderful.

"Yeah well, I could not miss my godson getting married, now could I?" he smirked charmingly.

"What have you been up too?" she asked.

"Just holding down the fort with the wizengamot. A lot had shifted in the council when those families ended up dead, or imprisoned. I'm just happy I can Help you out little cousin. I met our newest Black and you and Hermione make some of the most beautiful children," he said and waited. He heard that the simplest whisper of her wife's name could bring a smile to Narcissa's face, or tip her into a spiraling depression.

"Yes, well she is the apple of my eye and Hermione would be so proud of our little witch," Narcissa smiled and then looked out over the crowd.

"So, Severus, what do you say we get a drink sometime," Sirius invited and Narcissa and Severus both looked at him slowly, turning their heads slowly, with similar gaping mouths in shock.

"Your aim?" Severus asked narrowing his eyes.

"I don't know. I don't think you are the bastard I thought you were for all these years, and I want to see who you are for myself," Sirius said and Narcissa shook her head.

"Yes, well, you might not be the flea riddled mutt I always thought you were. I will accept on one condition," Severus said the entire time Narcissa was confused at the conversation around her.

"Conditions? Alright name it," Sirius chuckled.

"I'll cook dinner for you some time," Severus said and Narcissa blinked, and Sirius smiled. What in the hell was happening?

"Deal, I'll send you an owl to iron out the details, say next week sometime?" Sirius beamed.

"Sounds fine," Severus drolled, but there was a light in his beady eyes. Sirius shook his hand and then walked off.

"Sev," Narcissa whispered and he hummed, "Are you going on a date with my cousin?" she asked.

"It's just dinner and drinks," Severus argued.

"Severus Snape!" she snapped at him and he looked at her, their eyes collided and Narcissa sighed, "Don't get hurt, but don't be afraid to love again," she said and he nodded then they turned out back the party, "I just can't see you shagging Sirius," she said waiting for Severus to take a sip of bubble causing Severus to spit up his drink is shock. She chuckled mischievously and walked from the man. She walked to her son and his groom.

"It is time for me to get your sister home. I am proud of you, and I love you dearly. If you want or need a place to stay, the vineyard is available," she told her boys as she kissed them and hugged them good night. They beamed at her and said their thanks. When she went to collect Dobby and Emma, she turned around one last time and watched the party. Bella and Fleur looked to her, smiled and waved. She took Emma's hand and waved back to them with Emma's little fingers. They chuckled and went back to dancing. Andromeda was in a rapt conversation with the shifter. She just hoped the woman didn't get hurt. She looked down and Dobby met her gaze. He took her hand and then popped them home.

She walked her daughter up to bed, and Dobby told her he can take care of the rest. Narcissa walked to her bedroom and stripped off the dress and sat in one of her chairs by the fire. She smiled as memories flooded her mind of hours in front of this fire with Hermione. Hours in that bed with Hermione. She walked to her bed crawled under the sheets and she almost called for Dobby but paused as she reached for her pillow. She smiled at the elf. He always knew exactly what she needed.

Narcissa pulled the pillow that was encased in one of Hermione's t-shirts to her face. She breathed in her scent. She drowned in it and before she knew it tears came, as they always did when she missed to too much.

April

Narcissa felt a sharp pain in her abdomen, and chest. She ran a diagnostic, but everything was fine. It maybe she was getting sick. She sighed as she looked at the charts she had to fill out. She heard the doors open and sighed once more. She was never going to get these caught up or filed away. She walked from her office and washed her hands quickly and then turned on her newest patient.

"Hello, how can I … help you?" Narcissa stopped as she saw a dazzling smile, bright blue eyes, and the most glorious golden hair. Fleur simply sat there on Narcissa's stool and the woman's heart warmed.

"My you are a sight for sore eye, sweetheart," Narcissa said as she walked over, subconsciously planted a kiss on Fleur's head and then sat in a chair reserved for the patient's friends or family.

Fleur watched Narcissa walk toward her. Her posture was relaxed if not a bit worn as if this had been a long day, but when Fleur saw the woman's eyes Fleur immediately took notice. Narcissa wasn't her usual flirty awkward self, warring with her internal feelings. She was exhausted.

"It has been since Harry and Draco's wedding. I wanted to see you, but mon dieu, are you well?" Fleur asked reaching out for Narcissa's hand. Narcissa slouched and chuckled.

"Thanks, little Veela, here I thought I looked like a million galleons," Narcissa's kept the smile on her lips, but the light in her blue eyes was shadowed, and cloudy.

"You always have and will be gorgeous, but you look… tired my love," Fleur said with a frown and shook Narcissa's hand. Narcissa clenched it back and let go. Fleur's concern grew. Narcissa never let her go, never took her hand from Fleur's. Narcissa waved her wand. Wand? For a summoning spell? Usually Narcissa accioed things wandlessly.

"I didn't know I was going to see you today. I was going to give this to Bella to give to you later this evening. Bon anniversaire! I always found in interesting yours and Bella's birthdays are 6 months opposite," Narcissa said with a smile as she watched Fleur's light up.

"You should not have," Fleur smiled and looked to Narcissa. Narcissa nodded and then Fleur tore into the packaging. An old tome was revealed in Fleur's hands. Fleur's eyes shot up to Narcissa.

"She will want them someday. I am not sure of Veela magic, but Martin let me, begrudgingly borrow this from the Martindirk vault. There is a catch, you must love each other, for all time, and dote the same amount of love if not more upon the child," Narcissa explained but Fleur didn't look from the book.

"Narcissa, I promise to return it as soon as possible," Fleur vowed.

"Return it when you know it had worked," Narcissa smiled cheekily. Fleur smiled back. This was the old Narcissa, the Narcissa from over a year ago. Reserved, but loving to her. She was getting her witch back, but at what cost. She grew fond of the touches, and the tactile nature Narcissa had grown to show with Fleur.

"I came to meet Bella for today's festivities. I was told to be comfortable," Fleur said with a bit of a question.

"Don't ask me, I just promise I wont prank you like I did Bella on her birthday," Narcissa said smiling softly while watching the scene outside of the window. Fleur took in her friend. She almost, as she does often, slipped and called Narcissa her witch. Bella was her witch, but Narcissa would always hold a very special place in Fleur's heart. And she was worried.

"Why?" asked Fleur as she went over Narcissa's words.

"I like you more," Narcissa laughed and Fleur chuckled, "and it would be too easy to suspect a prank when your birthday is on April Fool's Day," Narcissa shrugged and continued to look out the window.

Fleur watched as Narcissa closed her eyes. She noticed the dark circles barely forming, but sure enough they were there. Then she began to breathe evenly, and her head lolled slightly to the side. Fleur took out her wand and ran a diagnostic. Everything was perfect. Nothing there, no sickness, no crazy core levels, just fatigue.

Right then the doors to the infirmary flew open and Fleur jumped.

"Nar…" Bella began to shout, and then saw Fleur waved her hand. Bella walked over concerned. She looked down to Fleur, and Fleur shrugged.

"Let's get her up to the tower," Fleur said and Bella nodded. They levitated her the whole way with a notice me not spell so the kids didn't see their school healer passed out. When Martin saw Fleur and Bella as Bella finited the spell, he threw open the door, and then corporeally met them in the sitting room. They gently guided her to the bed.

"Dobby," Fleur called, and he was there with Emma in a pop.

"Narcissa is exhausted, do you know why?" Bella asked and Dobby gave Bella Emma and walked to his mistress.

"She has been tossing and turning a lot as of late," Dobby said.

"How long little friend?" asked Martin.

"It has been getting progressively worse since Little Emmy was born. She would have great nights, hours and hours of sleep, and then there were others, when she tossed about her bed," Dobby explained. Martin hummed.

"I will look into the books, but maybe its nothing. Her core?" he asked.

"Fine, everything is normal," Fleur said, and Bella nodded while smiling at Emma and bouncing her on her hip.

"Come little one, lets let your momma sleep," Bella smiled, and the little girl giggled. Bella chuckled and Fleur looked at her wife and smiled lazily. She will show Bella Narcissa's gift later. Maybe they could talk about it.

"Here Miss Bella. I will take her," Dobby smiled as he looked at Fleur and Bella, "I know it's some one's birthday today," Dobby smirked with glee.

"For a house elf you sure are a cheeky bugger," Bella pouted as she gave up Emma, and then smiled when she looked at Fleur.

"Ready love?" Fleur nodded and reached for Bella's hand. They went to Narcissa's floo and left. Thoughts of Narcissa heavy on their minds, but something they could tackle later.

Mid-April

She slept, she was sure of it, but she found herself living on pepper-up potions just to make it through the day. Severus was a constant as was Minerva when they heard of her sleepless nights. She was growing irritable when she was constantly telling everyone around her, she was fine. They didn't believe her. This led Fleur to talk to Scrollblade.

"She hasn't been sleeping and it is getting worse. I have come to ask if I can take some time off to tend to her," Fleur asked looking at her supervisor. She was nervous asking a Goblin any favors, but it seemed as soon as she married into the family she was treated as one of them.

"I will grant you this. She is dear to me. Also, I have looked at the Delacour holdings in France," Scrollblade watched Fleur's eyes narrow.

"You don't have to work a day in your life. Why do you work here with us, or at all?" he asked.

"It is an honest day, and I would be dreadfully bored," Fleur said. Scrollblade narrowed his own eyes, "It was the only way I knew I could stay in England to help Hermione," Fleur said, and Scrollblade nodded.

"I see. Noble, and thank you. Take the time you need to be there for Narcissa," Scrollblade got up and showed Fleur out.

The next day Fleur showed up in the infirmary with Minerva. Narcissa smiled at them and sat down with them.

"Fleur will help you out here in the infirmary, she told me she wanted a break from vaults, and caves," Minerva smiled. Narcissa sighed. Looked at Fleur.

"You didn't have to lie Little Veela, you came to look after me. I do not have to will nor the energy to fight you," Narcissa got up turned her back and went back to her office to finish paperwork.

"Come Fleur I will get you squared away as an assistant to the grounds since you are not warmly welcomed here," Minerva pulled the worried woman away.

Minerva gave her free reign of the grounds. She was an extra set of eyes and ears in the halls and stands during quidditch matches as well as an extra pair of hands in potions, and the infirmary. Fleur was grateful for the tasks.

May 1st came and Narcissa could only hold her daughter and do her job. Everything else fell by the wayside. She was worn like a pair of old comfortable jeans. She was nice, happy and cordial, but that was about as much as she could do each day and not fall into her bed as soon as her shift was done in the afternoons.
