"Linda," Danny said, climbing into bed next to her. "Can you keep a secret?"

"Sure. What is it?" She put her book down so Danny knew she was paying attention.

"For the case I'm working— you gotta promise not to tell, cause I'm technically not supposed be telling you."

"I promise, Danny. Now what's the secret?" Linda was excited, she had no idea what it was, but it had to be big in order for Danny to break the rule.

"The case I've got revolves around the— get this, the Bullitt Mustang!"

"Uh huh," she said, not believing him.

"It's true. It's the original Bullitt Mustang!"

"I hope you find it or protect it or whatever you're doing."

"You're not excited?"

"Danny, if you're excited, I'm excited. Now let's go to sleep."

"It was the Bullitt Mustang! It was right there. And I touched it," Danny excitedly told Linda after he had solved the case. The owner was nice enough to let all the Reagan men see the car.

"Yeah, Danny, you keep telling me that. What's the big deal? It's just a car!"

"Just a car? Bullitt is not just a car. It's the car. The 1968 Ford Mustang. A cool car. The car that spawned all great filmed car chases. It was part of the greatest car chase scene ever filmed, and you think it's just a car?"

"I see I struck a nerve. And, yes, I think it's just a car. I never liked the movie. I only watch it with you because it makes you happy. I don't give a d@mn 'bout the car."

"Linda Reagan!" Danny couldn't believe his ears. How could somebody not like it? "It's the Bullitt Mustang. With the greatest actor that's ever lived."

"You can say that all you want, it still won't change my mind. And Steve McQueen's not even cute."

"Linda, it'd be like being able to ride in the Magnum, PI Ferrari with Tom Selleck in Hawaii."

Linda nodded, "okay, I'm starting to see the excitement."

"Or it'd be like spending the whole week with your celebrity crush-"

"Donnie Wahlberg?" She asked, a little too hopefully for Danny's liking.

"Whoever! You know the feeling?"

"Oh, yeah."

"That's How it was like to be with the Bullitt Mustang."

"You're adorable, Danny," Linda smiled, finding it utterly adorable that Danny was getting excited about the whole experience. "Like a kid in a candy store."

"You'd be excited, too, if you appreciated it like I do." He ignored her adorable remark.

"I'm sure I would be. And I see where you're coming from. Now let's go to sleep." She sunk into the covers, "Good night."

"Night," Danny kissed Linda before he turned the light out.

It was quiet for a while until Danny whispered, "the Bullitt Mustang!"

Linda rolled her eyes and smiled, hoping her husband wouldn't bring it up again that night. She was sure he'd dream about the car and the movie.
