Kaylees POV

Flashback continued..

"Stefan I'm telling you father will not understand. All he will see is that his own flesh and blood is willing to protect and even die for those creatures he has spent his whole life fighting against. You will not only seal your death. But mine, Kaylees and Charlie's. No one will believe that Katherine only showed herself to you. You will get all of us killed," Damon pleaded with him. It was nice that even after everything all the changes and darkness. He still always fought to protect you. Stefan looked from him to you before lifting his gaze back over to Katherine and his father. The game seemed so innocent. It was strange that one confession that seemed so small to the 3 of you would get her executed on site.

Stefan broke the staring contest the two had engaged in. But you could still feel katherines gaze burning two holes into your back. "I promise," he finally said seeming like he had just emerged from a trance. But the gut feeling you had didn't go away. It was so strange how quickly your life had turned into all of this. All your problems before hand seemed so small. The only thing that still bothered you were the holes in your memories still. Klaus had said that they would return but there were some things you couldn't remember no matter how hard you tried. Like the baby. The whole reason you got sent away in the first place. All of it is completely blank. You missed him. His immense knowledge was so helpful in times like these. I guess that's what happens when you're the worlds original family of vampires. Which lead you to the weird situation you were in. Things were so simple when you left. Damon had confessed that he wanted you and everything almost seemed perfect. And then everything changed. England changes you. Being a wolf changes you. And Katherine changed him. But even then she had the advantage on you most of the time and was always off on a trip with miss pearl to another town over the week of the full moon. It ha dalways confused you why she didn't just remove you from the problem. Bathe easiest answer was killing the only daughter of one of the founding families was easily going to bring a lot of attention to the town. And since they were the newest inhabitants, the attention would fall of them. Which made sense if you were trying to keep a big secret from a towns full of people. It would be mighty difficult to do that with all of them watching your every move and breathing down your neck. But it always seemed like it was more then that. That for some reason you played just as important of a role as Damon or Stefan did in her little story. You pulled the corner of your bottom lip inbetween your teeth hoping that for all of your sakes that Stefan was telling the truth.

End of flashback...

"There was a time when I trusted them more then anyone," Damon continued causually ignoring that you had a flashback. "Trust breeds trust. You have to give it to get it," elenas words rang in your ear. Your senses were overwhelmed and you couldn't force your eyes to focus on her face now. Especially after a flashback she must have come in while you were in the bathroom. "Are you lecturing me?" He challenged her but you could sense a slight flirting undertone to his words which made a slight pang of jealously rock your side. "Do you need to be lectured?" She challenged back placing a hand just above her hip where her waist slopped in. "I just want her back," He almost begged and you couldn't help but look up seeing that child like sparkle in his eyes. But he simply shrugged and it was gone "I'm sure you can understand that," his eyes met yours the jealously making you become increasing nauseous as you repositioned in your seat. Elena quickly glanced at you before back at him so quick you could blink and miss it. You were sure this conversation made her feel uncomfortable that you were in the room much less involved. "I can understand that you would do anything for her, yes," she brushed it off gliding like the little angel she has always been. Could humans even actually glide? "Then I hope you two will understand what I'm willing to do to get her back and if anyone gets in my way," he smirked down almost in a way of fear. But anyone could hear elenas increase in heart rate. She looked at you after he had made his point and decide to go find someone else to irritate. I guess it was lucky because Elena had panic painted all across her face. She could quite possibly be the best or the worst person at keeping secrets. You were just hoping it was the ladder.

Damon had now hooked his claws into Jeremy as the two sat side by side on the couch knees deep in a game of so,birds. You had grown tired of playing so you were happy not to be bothered. At least till damn became bored of it. "You said you've never played this game before?" Jeremy was monotoned as usual whenever you could get something out of him when you guys played.

"I'm a fast learner. Quick reflexes," you couldn't help but roll your eyes as you stared down at your hone mindlessly scrolling through Instagram. Jeremys phone rang but as quick as it started it stopped and. Y the sound of him throwing it back on the couch you knew it was Anna.

"Who you dodging?" Leave it to Damon to be so damn nosy in everyone's lives. "Just this girl Anna," ding ding ding. At least these heightened senses were good for something. "She can be uh, persistent," god understatement of the year the girl was up jeremys ass more then even his best friends were. She was weird. And you had always had a bad feeling about her.

"Is she hot?" You couldn't hel be scoff. He he is hell bent on getting a old ass vampire out of a tomb but was out here trying to talk about girls with Jeremy of all people. "Yeah yeah I guess. But she can be weird," god this conversation was giving you a headache. "Hot trumps weird trust me," he boasted laughing a little and you so,show knew that was a slight jab at you.

"He is ridiculously hot!" You looked up seeing that drunk Jenna had joined you guys. Elena was quick to hush her gazing over at the couch where they were. "He's an ass," you brushed off leaning your head into your head again and looking back down at your phone.

Miss you. You quickly texted Kyle. "What are you doing with all this stuff?" You looked up seeing that it looked to be so,e of their parents old stuff. "I was tying to see if there was any stuff about my birth parents," jennas smile quickly faded. You had heard about the fights from Jer when she found out. But it seemed mostly simmered out. You could understand how that could really fuck someone up your phone buzzed next to you assuming it was just Kyle you shoved it in your back pocket.

"Have you told Jeremy?" You didn't have to look up to know she was looking over at the, well Damon mostly. "I will, when the time is right," she gathered everything she had taken out of the box closing it almost as a signal that the conversation was over. The doorbell rang quickly moving everyone's attention "that's Stefan," Elena briskly walked to the door Damon to walking to the door leaving Jeremy alone I'm the middle of a game. You decided to join them and nearly bursted into laughter seeing stefans face as he looked from Damon to Elena. Guess someone wasn't actually invited. "Well?" Damon taunted. You 3 stepped out on to the porch Damon clearly already in a frenzy, "who took it?"

Stefan just shrugged simply, "I don't know."

He quickly turned back towards you guys," ya know it's that teacher. There's something really off about him," he pointed at Stefan. "No he doesn't know anything someone got there right before me," Stefan stomped that out quick which made you suspicious that ric maybe did know something. "Who else even knew it was there?" Stefan just looked into the window that gave you a direct line to see Jeremy. His eyes widened and he went to push past the two of them before you put two hands on his chest, "no Damon. Leave him out of this," you growled letting him go. "Why what's the big deal?" He disappeared back into the house before you could fight him anymore. "So I heard you found a really cool journal from back in the day," smooth Damon. Real smooth. It took everything in you not to intervene but you knew better. You were strong but only when your mind was strong. And you didn't want to get Jeremy involved more then he already is. A knock on the door distracted you, but you already knew it was Kyle his presence warmed you, like a hug. You opened the door giving him a half smile. It was really all you could manage now a days. And he of course scooped you into his arms and his cologne flooded your scenes making the room spin for a moment before the wolf in you pulled you back down everything instantly sharpened and brighter. You blinked a couple times knowing your eyes were yellow and the last thing you wanted to do was explain why you had yellow eyes to Jeremy or jenna for that matter. You side stepped and he kissed the top of your head intertwining his hand with yours. It felt right, almost. But you shrugged the feeling away pulling him back into the living room standing close enough that you would intervene if you had too.

"Huh?" Jeremy asked coming out of the video game fog but refusing to peel his eyes from the screen.

"Who else did you show it too? Don't ask questions just spill," he coaxed trying his very best to act like he was your guys age. Talk to him bro to bro. But this finally made him look at all of you and he laughed and you had known him long enough to know the difference between all of his laughs. And this one was uncomfortable forced it made your whole body tense up. "You're kidding me right?"

"Did you tell anyone other then Mr. saltzman about the journals?" Elena asked cocking her head slightly like she was disciplining a small child.

"Why is everyone so obsessed with that thing?" He asked almost as if he knew no one was gonna answer. "Who else did you tell?" Elena insisted disregarding his question completely. "Just that girl Anna." You looked up at Kyle remembering her from one of your dreams. Someone who knew you in 1864. That's the creepy girl he had Ben complaining about for weeks? Could it?

"The not weird one?" Damon clarified leaning into him and you took a step forward to which he turned and smirked at you before focusing back on the task at hand.

"Yeah," he nodded shifting in the couch. "Wait who's Anna?" Stefan asked his voice almost shocking you since he had been silent the entire time.

"That is exactly what I would like to find out," elenas cell ringtone burning in your ears. "How do you know her?" He just shrugged "I just know her. She wants to meet her at the grill tonight," idiot.

"Perfect! I'll drive come on," he yanked on jeremys arm and you stepped towards him until he loosened his grip.

"Ok I'm alone give me all the deets Bonnie I'm dying," you heard Elena upstairs pacing back and fourth from what it sounded like. You shook your head realizing that Bon was on a date with some guy who went to our high school years ago. "It's going great, he's a perfect gentleman."

"A gentleman huh?"

"I know! Boring huh? I just want to grab him and lay one on him."

"So why don't you?"

"Cause I'm a chicken."

"You're a powerful witch goddess. Come on seize the day broom hilda."

"Ok. I, gonna text you later with more details."

"You better."

Her body made the floor boards shift as each step she took down the stairs make a horrible veal you were sure only you and maybe Kyle could hear but he didn't seem fazed. At all. "Where's Damon?" She asked scanning the room.

"He left to track down jeremys friend Anna to see if there was anything there," Stefan admitted and she was surprisingly not mad. Considering her boyfriend just let the person she hates the most force her younger brother on a date with a girl that's basically been stalking him. But if she was who you thought then she has some tie into all of this.

"Aren't you gonna go with him? If he gets to the journal before we do then," Stefan cut her off pulling the folding sheets of paper that had been stuffed in his back pocket after Damon left "doesn't matter."

"What is that?" You groaned "maybe a copy of the journal?" You scoffed. "How did you get it?" She asked ignoring you which made you smile a bit. "Well mr.saltzman made a copy and he was kind enough to loan it to me," she half rolled her eyes and honestly you couldn't blame her Stefan bullshitted so much his eyes should be brown by now. "He did?" She questioned folding her arms over her chest.

"Not exactly, but I got it," he chuckled.
