I'm back! Thank you for all your support it really makes me happy. However, I would like to address a comment before I begin.
1. The Guardians assuming Jack betrayed them makes sense, BUT it doesn't mean they shouldn't have let him explain himself before they started to yell and accuse him.
2. Yes, a lot of characters may seem OOC and I'm sorry about that. I am trying my best but they will of course not be exactly like canon especially in this situation.
3. With the whole, "My character stopped Bunny from hitting Jack thing", it definitely looked like Bunny was going to hit Jack to me when I first watched ROTG, so I kept it in and in that kind of high tense situation of course the protective sibling character is going to jump in regardless.
4. If you don't like musicals in non-musical movies...than read the description beforehand because I made it quite clear.
That's all, sorry I just felt like I should address these as they were bugging me a little. With that out of the way, Jack?
Jack: Sparky doesn't own Brave, ROTG, Tangled, Httyd.
Me: Enjoy!
Astrid stands there frozen. Toothless looks from her to Hiccup before looking back at her, very confused. Hiccup sighs, looking over at Astrid "you just scared him." Meanwhile Astrid is given him incredulous look as if she can't believe what she's hearing. "I scared him!?" At her yelling, Hiccup makes a lower your voice gesture and surprisingly she complies although her tone is quite intense, "Who is him?" Hiccup makes introductions but Astrid backs away, eyeing him and Toothless in disgust before running back to the village. Hiccup ponders for a few seconds that he's dead before changing his mind, getting on Toothless and flying to Astrid. He snatches off the ground, ignoring her screams and they fly to a towering pine.
"Well this can only go well" remarks Flynn as Hiccup groans and hides his face in his hands. Meanwhile, Sparky gives Astrid a knowing grin making the blonde Viking glare at her. The effect of the glare was ruined by her bright red blush.
The pine bows and creaks under their weight as Astrid dangles a hundred feet in the air. "Hiccup! Get me down from here!" Hiccup sighs and tries to get her to listen to him, "Just let me show you." Astrid looks at Hiccup and Toothless before looking at the ground far below, she swats his hand away his hand and reluctantly climbs over the pedal, lines, and harness. Astrid settles behind Hiccup, avoiding as much contact as possible "now get me down." She hisses, Hiccup looks at Toothless "Toothless? Down, gently." However, he fails to notice that Toothless pulls a very mischievous look.
Hiccup groans louder at his onscreen predicament "thanks for nothing you useless reptile." Toothless roars innocently and curls up beside Sophie who giggles and pets his wings. Toothless purrs happily, he got to embarrass his rider in front of his mate AND get free hugs, today was his day.
In response, Toothless slowly spread out his wings. They fill up with air and he releases the tree all the while hovering in place and tucking in his legs. "See, nothing to be afraid of" reassures Hiccup but as soon as the words leave his mouth, Toothless suddenly launches upward. Astrid screams, getting thrown around and hugs Hiccup for dear life as their speed increases. Hiccup, meanwhile, is mortified and tried to reassure Astrid while also telling off Toothless. "Toothless! What is wrong with you?! Bad dragon! He's not usually like this. Oh no..." Hiccup's rant trails off said dragon rolls and plummets toward the coastline, dipping them into the froth.
"Oh, my lord...Toothless you are so coming with us when we next prank Bunny." Says Jack, whipping tears from his eyes and applauding the satisfied Nightfury. "Don't encourage him!" Yells Hiccup, looking up to glare at the winter spirit before screaming in surprise and disgust as Toothless and a bunch of baby dragons decide to lick his face and clothes leaving him in a pile of ooze. "Why me! Why is it always me?!" Sighs Hiccup, glaring at the laughing crowd. Stoick smiles a little, wishing not for the first time that he could see this side of his son more often. He wasn't the smartest, but he could see what Toothless was doing on screen and gave a nod to the Nightfury in thanks.
"Toothless, what are you doing?! We need her to like us!" Scolds Hiccup, trying in vain to get Toothless to calm down. In response, Toothless rockets skyward and begins tumbling head over tail. "And now the spinning. Thank you for nothing you useless reptile." Sighs Hiccup, meanwhile, Astrid covers her eyes with her hands and her aggression is finally gone "Okay! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Just get me off of this thing" she cries out, satisfied Toothless relents back to his normal flying speed.
"You mean, you scared the life out of me just so I would calm down?!" Yells Astrid, looking at Toothless in shock who nods in response. "Huh...I guess you're smarter than you look but for that I'm taking away your treats." To the surprise of only the Vikings, Toothless's ears dropped and his eyes went huge and sad, he roared pitifully to avail. "And that folks, is how you bring down the unholy offspring of lightning and death itself." Comments Sparky in complete monotone to everyone but Toothless's amusement.
Disclaimer: I don't own the song "A whole new world" from Aladdin.
They level off and head up into the clouds. Astrid opens her eyes again, looking around in awe as she reaches out to touch the clouds. Her terror is replaced by wonder. She grins, despite herself. Toothless rises above a blanket of clouds and levels off under a starry sky. Hiccup smiles at Astrid's smiling face and nervously, begins to sing.
#I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, Astrid, now when did
You last let your heart decide?
I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a crazy dragon ride#
Astrid blinks, looking at Hiccup in surprise but she doesn't object. He looks away and to his surprise she smiles and picks up where he left out.
#A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us, "No"
Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming
A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm way up here
It's crystal clear
That now I'm in a whole new world with you
(Now I'm in a whole new world with you) #
The two teens smile at each other without the other noticing and sing together as they fly across the starry sky.
#Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky
A whole new world (don't you dare close your eyes)
A hundred thousand things to see (hold your breath, it gets better)
I'm like a shooting star, I've come so far
I can't go back to where I used to be
A whole new world
With new horizons to pursue
I'll chase them anywhere
There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you
A whole new world (a whole new world)
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us, "No"
Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming
A whole new world (every turn, a surprise)
With new horizons to pursue (every moment, red-letter) #
Hiccup gazes at Astrid, watching her smile and look unguarded. For the first time he is seeing the real Astrid Hofferson, not the rude girl known for being the best in all the village. And Astrid is seeing the real Hiccup, not the awkward runt of a Viking but someone who has found a literal whole new world. With that in mind they finish the song together as they emerge from the clouds under the Northern Lights. Below them, Berk's torches flicker the inky darkness. The new perspective is breath-taking. Astrid tucks her arms into Hiccup's vest, burying her chin into his shoulder while he smiles nervously. Toothless climbs past Berk's tallest peaks and heads out over open water, leaving the village lights behind them, with this in mind the duo finish their song.
#I'll chase them anywhere, there's time to spare
And then we're home (there's time to spare)
Let me share this whole new world with you
A whole new world (a whole new world)
That's where we'll be (that's where we'll be)
A thrilling chase (a wondrous place)
For you and me#
Everyone in the audience cheers and applauds while Astrid and Hiccup smile shyly at each other.
"Alright I admit it. This is pretty cool. It's... amazing. He's amazing." Sighs Astrid but the smile doesn't leave her face as she carefully reaches down and pats Toothless' side. "So, what now?" She asks, Hiccup groans in response making her frown. "Hiccup, your final exam is tomorrow. You know you're going to have to... kill a dragon. "The ending of her sentence dissolves into a whisper but Hiccup doesn't have an answer.
Hiccup looks down, burying his head into Toothless's side. Said dragon purrs and nuzzles his riders head, he didn't know what was making Hiccup so upset but went into overgrown kitten mode to try to cheer him up. Stoic sighed, looking over at his son in worry. He knew that this wouldn't go down well for either of the duo.
A strange, unearthly din approaches. Toothless' ear plates suddenly stand on end. Panicked, he abruptly dives, dipping into cloud cover. "Toothless! What's happening? What is it?" Asks Hiccup in worry but Toothless barks at him to hush. Suddenly, out of the dense cloud, a Monstrous Nightmare emerges causing them to duck. The Nightmare calls out and a Zippleback appears to the other side of Toothless, boxing him in. Astrid looks to Hiccup but answers but gets none, Hiccup tries to urge Toothless to get them to safety but all he receives is a hiss.
Other dragons, previously invisible in the thick clouds, appear all around them. HUNDREDS of them, all carrying fish and game in their talons. "It looks like they're hauling in their kill" comments Hiccup, "What does that make us?" Asks Astrid, noticing the Zippleback eye them ravenously. The dragons dive in a formation, plummeting through the thickening fog and weaving between the sea stacks. They emerge at the base of a massive volcanic caldera, glowing with rivulets of lava. The flock of dragons fall into rank, going through a crack, and zipping through a winding tunnel. It gives way to a vast, steamy inner chamber, tiered with shelves. Dragons of all breeds lay about, nested in hordes. The arriving dragons fly in, dropping the fish and game into a central pit, glowing red and shrouded in mist.
"The nest…well I'll be a Zippleback's uncle. Ya found the dragons nest." Comments Gobber, eating a sandwich that appeared out of thin air. Hiccup turns to him and nods slowly, not looking at any of the cheering Vikings as he did so. His heart sunk knowing that they were all aware of the nest.
"What my dad wouldn't give to find this." Comments Hiccup, amazed as Toothless peels away from the procession, landing on a small shadowy shelf to keep a low-profile. Hiccup and Astrid peek around, taking in the busy hive of sorts. They watch as the food continues to be dropped into the pit and make comments about finally knowing where their food was going. The last dragon to arrive is a dim-witted Gronckle. It hovers over the pit and regurgitates his contribution, a pathetic little fish. As it falls into the steamy pit, a terrible roar rings out, the Gronckle tries to flee, but before it can, a huge dragon head juts from the steamy pit and snaps it out of the air.
Every dragon in the room suddenly freezes, howling in fear and covering around Hiccup and the other seasons. Hiccup smiles sadly as he watches the others calm them down and joined in by gently talking and scratching their heads. Rapunzel treating the babies like she did to Maximus (who looked offended and first before punching Flynn.) Merida chuckled at the brave dragons becoming "wee lambs" and pet them gently but spoke firmly as she calmed them down. Jack and Sparky distracted theirs with snowflakes and got Casey to talk to them. It was a sight to be hold and distracted everyone from the dragons nest…well except for the Vikings.
The dragon reared back, swallowing the Gronkle whole. Hiccup and Astrid recoil in horror at the sight especially when the dragon sniffs the air as if aware of them. It nears the ledge where Toothless is hiding and roars. Several dragons take flight in fear and with some prompting, Toothless finally takes flight, barely evading the monster's snapping jaws. The behemoth dragon lunges for them, snatching a Zippleback out of the air instead. We cut to the cove where Toothless glides into the cove and touches down on the moonlit beach, Astrid is completely freaking out "no, no, it totally makes sense. It's like a giant beehive. They're the workers and that's their queen. It controls them." She leaps off Toothless, ecstatic and runs towards the village. She leaps off of Toothless and runs toward the village. "Let's find your dad" however Hiccup cuts her off, his face full of panic. "No, no! Not yet. They'll... kill Toothless. Astrid, we have to think this through carefully."
"Taritor!" Screams Snotlout, lunging at Hiccup and talking him to the ground. Punching and kicking the other hard in the face and stomach. "You're a traitor Haddock, why don't you take your filthy dragon and dive off a cliff!" Twin blasts of fire, ice, a frying pan and a bow all hit Snotlout hard and knocked him out and off Hiccup. Rapunzel hit him extra hard again with her dented frying pan just to make sure while the other seasons embraced Hiccup. "Thanks for the save…but I really need to breathe." Choked Hiccup before he was let go, he was smiling though but a look of surprise crossed his face when Stoick turned to him and asked if he was alright.
Astrid eyes him, incredulously "Hiccup, we just discovered the dragons' nest, the thing we've been after since Vikings first sailed here. And you want to keep it a secret? To protect your pet dragon? Are, you serious?" Hiccup stands firm, resolute and determined "Yes." Astrid is taken aback but keeps her composure and nods. "Okay, then what do we do? "Hiccup sighs, that was the hard part "just give me until tomorrow. I'll figure something out. "She nods before punching him in the arm "that's for kidnapping me." Hiccup looks to Toothless for support but the other snorts dismissively. Astrid grabs him and Hiccup braces for another hit but to his surprise she kisses his cheek. "That's for, everything else" she says before hurrying off, leaving Hiccup rubbing his cheek stunned and catching Toothless eyeing him "what are you looking at?"
And that's all for now folks. I hope you all enjoyed and stay tuned. XXX Sparky
