Although not a truly feral child, Toomai is still to be found by his sixty three year old grandfather Krishna, who would get sick with dad's illness later on. He had come up hotfoot from the plains to search for his grandson and his elephant, and now that he has found them, he looks at them as though he is afraid of them both.

'Grandson, why are you so precocious!', he said. 'I did this on my own, because your son - my dad - was sick with an illness and is still recovering in his house.', Toomai responds.

Raman, Sahib and Appa are all learning a lesson from the child. 'We're all sorry, that because we're blinded from primal animal trauma much of the time.', Appa said.

Toomai has spoken the truth! He has proven that the Mysuru elephants are declining in numbers, due to habitat loss and poaching.', Sahib responds.
