Chapter 247

Jax's Point of View

Smoke billowed from the grill as Deacon opened the metal lid. The smoke disappeared as he waved it away with the dish towel in his hand and took the tongs in his other hand and flipped the steaks.

"Dadee, bite, please!" Rae gave me a half toothy smile, sitting next to me at the patio table. She could feed herself pretty well but I wanted to help her. I missed so many of these moments when I was in Stockton, I was still trying to make up for time lost.

I smirked and scooped some Mac and cheese on her spoon and zipped it to her mouth.

She happily chewed away as I checked on Abel sitting on the other side of me. "You doing okay, buddy? You want something to drink?" Abel nodded, continuing to chow down.

"Hey, keep an eye on them. Make sure they don't go near the pool." I told Avery. He nodded and nursed the beer in his hand. He hasn't spoken but a 'hello' to Deacon since he stepped out back.

This was gonna be a long ass night.

Before I walked in the house I paused and looked at Deacon remembering Rowan's request to be helpful. I was gonna throw Avery a very big bone and hope he went with it. "Hey, man, did you catch Overeem vs. Harris last night?"

Deacon grinned, making a fist. "Hell of a fight."

Avery perked up glancing between the two of us. "You into UFC? Did you catch the pre-show weigh in? Harris was a fucking beast man."

Deacon left his post at the grill and took a seat at the table and began directing the two heavy weight fighters with Avery.

I walked through the open back door into the kitchen and grabbed two juice boxes from the fridge and sidled up next to Rowan at the counter so I could open them and stick the straws in. Rowan glanced at me as she mashed potatoes in a bowl with a hand masher. "How's it going out there?"

"They said 'hello' which you witnessed, other then you saying Avery works at Navy Street and is your friend, it's been quiet." I filled her in, rubbing her back gently. I could tell she was stressing big time over tonight and honestly couldn't blame her but this wasn't all on her. Avery needed to make the effort.

Rowan glared at me, pausing mid potato mash. "You have to help Avery until I get out there!"

"What do you want me to do? Hold his hand?" I teased, kissing her cheek. "He's fine. Trust me."

"You know what I mean." Rowan rolled her eyes and shook her head. "You know how to be charming and make things less awkward."

Finished with the mashed potatoes Rowan moved them over to the counter by the door so they could be carried out back to the table. She flitted back to the cupboard and stood on her tip toes trying to reach a pan on the top shelf. My eyes fell to her breasts. They already looked like they were gonna pop out of the dress she had on and reaching up had pushed her chest out even more, enhancing the view.

"Hey, can you stop ogling me for ten seconds and grab that pie dish, please?" I smirked, caught.

Rowan sunk her teeth into her bottom lip as I moved behind her and grabbed the pie dish for her. I sat it on the counter in front of her. Unable not to I bit her earlobe and pressed myself against her back, already feeling my dick swelling against the fabric of my jeans. "I've got a hot wife. I'm allowed to enjoy the view, aren't I?"

"Mhmm…" she mumbled, shooting me a smile over her shoulder. I captured her lips with my own quickly, wanting so much more, but she pulled a way and spun around shooing me away. "Get back out there! Go!" She handed me the kids' juice boxes and shooed me out the door.

Surprisingly, Deacon and Avery were both still at the table, talking to each other. UFC was a good topic. Least they were keeping things light while I was gone and actually broke the ice.

Avery studied Deacon as he talked. From across the table I could see his mind running a mile a minute, trying to figure this man out. A man he hardly knew. We had that in common. I felt like I hardly knew half the important people around me. Gemma. Clay. Fuck.

I sat down and handed the kids their juice boxes. Abel smiled at me and squirmed in his seat. I put my hand on top of his head and smirked.

I felt two arms wrap around my neck and the scent of Rowan's coconut shampoo overwhelmed my senses in the best way possible. Her breath hit my ear as she spoke sweetly, "I think this is yours." Confused and turned on by her being this close I almost missed her placing a business card on my thigh. What the fuck? She removed her arms and walked back into the house.

I glanced down to see the business card the chick at the grocery store had given to me. Oh shit. Shitshitshit. Diosa Gentlemen's Club was written in italics across the card. I jumped up out of my chair and jogged inside.

Rowan was standing facing the door with her hands on her hips, eyebrows raised, confusion and maybe a little bit of fear in danced across her eyes.

"This," I pinched the card between my fingers and held it up, "isn't what you think?" I couldn't help but chuckle a little.

Rowan grabbed the card and held it over the drain in the sink. "So you won't mind if I jam it down the garbage disposal then? I don't remember that being on the list I gave you? I mean who the fuck is Collette?"

I crossed my arms over my chest and sighed trying to keep a straight face. I hated that Rowan thought something was going on, but, fuck, she looked hot as hell pissed off right now. The kind of hot that made me wanna fuck her right here, right now.

I sauntered towards her, my hands instantly gripping her hips. "I was gonna tell you about that later."

"Why is there a card to a gentlemen's club stuck under the pie you bought?" Rowan fumed, her breathing quickening with each second.

"Stop that." I said sternly, gripping her face in my hands and slamming my mouth into hers. She pushed away for only a second before gripping my shirt in her hand, pulling me in for more. When I pulled back she was panting, her mouth agape, eyes searching mine frantically for answers. "Some chick at the store was trying to pick up on me. I left a bag at check out and she happened to hand it to me in the parking lot. She offered me her card. I told her I was happily married and I wasn't interested, at all. That's it. I forgot the card got tossed in the bag."

"So now I have to worry about women hitting on you in the grocery store, great. As if I didn't have to worry about that enough." Rowan looked over my shoulder at something and chewed her lip, her anger simmering. Her eyes flicked to mine and then away again. I could tell she was embarrassed for getting so worked up, I wanted to see how this was going to play out. One thing was for sure it was never a dull moment with Rowan and her emotions. She wore her heart on her sleeve and I loved that about her. Even if it frustrated the fuck out of me sometimes.

Not so unexpectedly she jammed the business card down the garage disposal and flipped the switch on the wall by the sink. The card was shredded to bits in seconds. Rowan stayed facing the sink.

I placed a hand on each side of the counter boxing her in, pushing my body against hers. I could've swore I heard her let out a little moan when my erection hit her ass. Seeing her all jealous and worked up was enough to get me going. "The only thing you need to be worried about is what I'm gonna do to you later." My voice was husky against her ear. Slowly I let one hand fall to her hip and then down to the hem of her dress. From there it was easy to glide my hand back up her smooth thigh to the hem of her panties. She pushed her ass against me, grinding her hips ever so slightly into my own.

"Hey, Deacon said the steaks are done." Avery interrupted us.

I whipped my head around and nodded. "We'll be out in a second." Avery nodded then disappeared out back.

Rowan turned around to face me, giddy and excited that we'd almost been caught. "We should get out there."

Quickly and before she could protest I yanked her panties down her legs and made her step out of them, kissing her fiercely in the process.

"Give those back!" Rowan squealed, giggling, reaching for the lace panties dangling from my fingers. "I need those, Teller!"

I scoffed, smirking. "No you don't need them. You want them. There's a difference."

Rowan grabbed for the panties again but I shoved them in my back pocket too quickly. I smirked and pushed her against the counter again.

"Jackson!" She scolded me, while I held her wrists.

"Rowan." I mimicked her, a teasing smile lazily forming on my lips. "You'll get them back later. Tomorrow. I haven't decided yet."

I let go of her hands and felt them gently be placed on my stomach. Her eyes never left mine as they roamed lower. She paused at the waistband to my boxers and jeans. I glanced out back at everyone at the table. They couldn't see in here or what we were doing because of the counter placement. If they did look this direction and saw anything it would just look like we were talking closely.

Rowan slid her hand down over the growing bulge in my jeans and cupped me in her hand. "Fuck…" I mumbled, planting a quick kiss on her jawline. And then abruptly Rowan removed her hand and grinned at me, stepping around me to grab the bowl of mashed potatoes off the counter.

"You're such a tease." I shot out, walking towards her.

"You think that was me teasing you?" She laughed, giving me a you-have-no-idea-what-you're-in-for looks.

I shrugged and grinned. "You don't know how to go ten minutes without me being inside you, so I'm not worried by that look you just gave me. Im irresistible. If you had to go without me, the sexual frustration would end you."

Rowan laughed again and stepped forward, the only thing keeping us apart the bowl in her hands. "I was a Virgin all through high school. I know how to combat sexual frustration. You on the other hand… not so much. If you thought that was me teasing you, babe, you're done for."

"Why do I feel like I'm about to be punished for the escort card." I smirked, cocky and confident that I could have Rowan moaning my name in two seconds and this game we were starting over and done.

"You're definitely being punished." She whispered, her voice raspy but somehow still as smooth as honey. Her eyes slid down over my body slowly making my own heart rate spike. Then abruptly Rowan turned on her heel and headed outside leaving me completely turned on. She was right. I was fucked.

I walked outside wondering how far she'd be willing to take this unspoken game we'd just started.
