Hello everyone! I know that it has been a very long time since I last updated this story. I will admit, I didn't intend to let it go dead this long. I've had a lot happen during the past few years, from graduating college, to getting my first job, to getting a new job that required me to move from Texas to Missouri! I've had to make a lot of transitions, and don't have as much time as I once did. This doesn't mean that I'm quitting however! This story is still burning to be written, even if it will take longer than I once envisioned. I cannot give a set schedule, but I do intend on continuing the story as best I can. I want to thank everyone who was willing to wait so long for me to get back on track! Now, let's continue this tale.

Chaos. Such a small word, that simply cannot properly convey what it truly means. The two officers looked at Bogo in confusion.

"Chaos? What to you mean Chief? It can't be that bad!" Nick exclaimed, rather shocked to hear Bogo describe his beloved city in such a dark manner. "It's not like people are rioting or anything."

"That's just it Wildes…They have. There have been a number of small-scale riots in almost every district. The only reason they haven't been on the news is that we've managed to quell them before they got too out of hand." Bogo said with a weary sigh, massaging his temples. "More pop up every day, civilians upset over the murders, blaming various species or races. Just enough people get an opinion from a set of the murders and decide that prey species or predator species or even just sheep are to blame! It's a nightmare."

"Oh sweet cheese and crackers, it's that bad?! You should have told us Bogo! We could have helped!" Judy said heatedly.

"Absolutely not! After what happened to your home, the last thing I wanted was to throw you straight back into the field." Bogo shot back. "We were able to manage them without you Hopps, and we will continue to for now. As is, I want you back on the murder cases."

"If you say so boss. Clawhauser mentioned that there have been five more murders. What can you tell us about them?" Nick asked, sensing a chance to calm Judy down and get her back in her element, solving cases.

"Unfortunately, yes, we have had more deaths. Since you've been on leave, we have found the bodies three prey and two predators. The first one, an elephant by the name of James Gregorio, was found morning after the incident with your home in the Savana district. Two more were found later that afternoon in Tundra Town, a pig named Tress Hogsteed and a bull named Richard Tank. Yesterday we found the most recent two, a buck named Steve Kale and a tiger named Leon Clause, in the Rainforest district. All five of them shared the same cause of death as our first victims, and they were all found in warehouses. There were no working security cameras at any of the warehouses, so this is obviously premeditated." Bogo laid out case files for the two officers as he spoke, containing pictures and written details of the gruesome scenes.

"Oh God…do we have any witnesses? Anything we can use to identify who would do this?" Judy said, looking at the files with dread.

"Well, we found a few more hairs like before, but nothing else. We can assume that whoever did this is trying to insight panic in the citizens of Zootopia. The attack on your home proves that there is at least some sort of goal to this, and it's not just aimless killing. Otherwise, the killer wouldn't have bothered to try and scare you off." Bogo said, doing his best not to look tired.

"That's a start, but it's still not much. Do we have anything else? Any sightings of shadowy figures, people creeping around, acting suspicious?" Nick asked, some of his trademark joker attitude slipping in to try and lighten the mood just a bit.

"There have been plenty of jumpy citizens calling in a panic, but none of the calls amounted to anything when officers got involved. This entire situation is running the force ragged." Bogo sighed, the strain and stress showing.

"Do we know where all the different calls came from?" Judy inquired, getting the glimmer of an idea.

"Well…yes, all incoming calls are recorded as standard policy, including any location information provided. But why? They were all just people jumping at their own shadows." Bogo look confused, unsure as to how a bunch of phone calls from panicked citizens could be of use.

"Even if we didn't find anything after investigating the citizens' calls…that doesn't mean there was never any threat!" Judy replied, a bit of energy returning to her.

Nick's ears perked up a bit, catching onto Judy's train of thought as if he could read her mind. "You're right carrots! And if a lot of those calls have a pattern, maybe we can at least narrow down possible locations in our search for thw killer's hideout!"

Bogo blinked, then straightened up as he realized what the two were getting at. "I think I see what you two are getting at. That might actually give us something to go on!"

Bogo quickly snatched up his deck phone and started punching in a number, preparing to make the necessary calls to get all that information collected properly. At the same time, Nick and Judy exchanged determined grins, excited at the chance to get back in action, and the possibility of finding a lead.

"Look at that, barely back in the station and already coming up with ideas." Nick chuckled, glad to see his partner back in higher spirits.

"Heh, yeah. Lets just hope that this idea pans out, we need something before this situation can get even worse." Judy replied, calmed down, but certainly no longer disheartened. She focused on Chief Bogo again as she heard his voice get a bit rougher.

"I want a full list of each call and where it originated from brought up to the group room. Yes, I heard you say how many there were, I don't care! Just get those call records to me, now!" He exclaimed, not pleased by whatever was initially said to him. Judy looked back to Nick, realizing that they may have gotten in a little over their heads with this idea already. Nick just smiled, relaxed with the mindset nothing could go wrong now that they've gotten back on the case.

"Relax Judy…how bad could it possibly be?"

Phew…it's been a while since I properly wrote anything. But I'm glad you decided to continue with me. I'll be doing my best to balance my work and free time to continue this. Hopefully I can bring back what I had originally envisioned for this work! Please leave a review if you would, as it helps to get feedback after being gone for so long. I want to know what you thought of this, and what you think could use improving! If you have any ideas or thoughts, I'm always open to hear them!
