Linda Reagan opened her eyes, only to realize she was behind some sort of curtain. She tried to move her hands and feet, but they were clamped together to a ball and chain. She took in her surroundings: a dingy, large, musty basement with no windows. She looked up to see a man dressed in all black, wearing a ski mask, only exposing his eyes, nose, and mouth.

The man in black smirked at Linda, before showing her some tools of torture. Her eyes went wide with fear and her mouth went completely dry.

"Don't worry," he smiled, "I'm not gonna use 'em..." as he pulled back the curtain, he deviously added, "on you."

The blonde's eyes nearly popped out of her head when she saw the sight before her. She saw Danny on his knees, with no shirt, and his arms above his head. He had Linda's scarf wrapped around his eyes, and his tie around his mouth, gagging him. She shook her head, "no, no! Don't you dare!" She saw her husband blindly trying to find her voice.

"Oh, but I dare." The masked man sneered and showed Linda a nightstick.

She yelled at the man in black to stop as he hit her husband five times on the back, then five times on his torso, stomach, and chest. She watched in horror as Danny flinched in pain each time the hard metal made contact.

Linda lost her voice when the torturer showed her a baseball bat with sharp pieces of metal attached. Her heart caught in her throat, breaking in two, as she watched her husband's blood trickle down his body. Every time the bat made contact with Danny, his muffled screams of pain filled the room.

Linda noticed how the detective was tied up- his hands were tied together above his head with the rope over some sort of bar, ending at his feet, keeping them tied. She shook her head as she realized the rope system was keeping Danny from toppling over in pain.

Linda started crying when the perp showed her a cat-o-nine tails. Her fear was so great, she couldn't talk, but, by some miracle, she spoke up, "stop it!Stop! You're hurting him!"

The man in black ignored Linda's pleas as he whipped the detective over and over again. He finally stopped and took something out of his pocket.

Linda shook her head as her tears streamed down her face, "no! Stop it! Don't hurt him! Hurt me! But leave Danny alone!"

The man in black shot the gun his was holding. He aimed for the side wall, just to scare the husband and wife.

"No!!" Linda struggled to get free, the metal shackles digging into her skin. She cried harder as the man expertly shot the gun, letting the bullets graze Danny's skin. He stopped for a minute and walked over to Linda.

"I'mma need you quiet for this." He expertly put a gag on Linda's mouth, despite her best efforts to avoid him.

Linda felt all the life go out of her as she saw the man in black point the gun at her husband's head. She screamed with all her might, her cries doing nothing to persuade the awful man that was torturing her husband. The gun went off with a loud bang as Linda screamed, "Danny!!"

The blonde sat up in the dark room, drenched in sweat. She walked over to the window, unaware that the sights she just witnessed was a terrible nightmare. Her breathing was heavy as tears streamed down her cheeks. She heard a noise behind her, and looked at the man standing behind her. Still trapped in a terrible nightmare, Linda thought the man was the perp who was hurting her husband.

Through her sobs, she spewed every curse word she knew, all while hitting the monster who took away her love, her life, her best friend, her husband.

"Linda!" Danny tried to call her out of the nightmare that had obviously plagued her dreams. "Linda! Linda!" He caught her wrists in his hands and kissed her lips.

"Danny?" She wondered weakly.

"Linda."

"Oh, Danny!" Linda hugged her husband tightly, as if she'd never see him again. She cried on his neck, holding him for dear life.

Danny let her cry it out, completely confused as to why her nightmare had happened. When he heard Linda screaming for him as he walked through the front door, he ran into the bedroom as fast as he could, and found her standing in front of the window.

Danny rubbed Linda's back and kissed her head, hoping he could help her.

"Danny!" Linda kisses his neck, "I had the worst nightmare!"

"It's okay," he kissed her temple.

Linda spewed out her nightmare, crying a fresh set of tears. "It was so real!"

"But it's over now. And that'll never happen." Danny hugged Linda tighter, his heart breaking for his wife. He kissed her cheek, "I promise."

"I don't think I can fall asleep again." She shook her head.

"Can you wait five-ish minutes?"

Linda nodded, "Uh huh."

"Good." Danny kissed her again and took a quick shower. He climbed in bed next to his wife, and held her tight. He whispered his undying love and devotion for her until she was able to fall asleep. He prayed that the nightmares would leave Linda alone for the rest of the night, that the sound of his heart under her ear would soothe her. He kissed her forehead and whispered, "I love you, Linda. Nothing's gonna change that."
